This one was SUPER fun to write. Hope you guys enjoy reading it!

Marina's heart was racing.

The mermaiden was desperately trying not to let her emotions show in front of her friends. She didn't want them to see how close she was to cracking. All of her escape attempts had failed up until this point, and now she was faced with having to spend the rest of her life with some royal creep.

Don't. Troy won't let this stand.

Her heart fluttered as her thoughts drifted to Troy. The Captain had been her confidant; her rock when she'd first moved to the surface world - to Marineville, and the thought of leaving him and her friends behind to live in a new world without them…

It would ruin her.

When Marina zoned back into her surroundings it occurred to her that the minister had almost finished reciting the scripture readings. In normal marine traditions, the vows would be spoken by both parties, but Aquanas had decided to forgo this technicality as he knew his bride could not speak.

As the minister came to the closing statements of the ceremony, a bead of sweat rolled down the side of the mermaid's temple and her green eyes met the violet eyes of her husband-to-be. He reached out and wrapped his hands around her own, guaranteeing her participation in what was about to happen.

Marina went rigid.

"And with the mighty Titan as our prime witness, I now pronounce you-"

"No!"

The shrill cry caused a collective gasp to reverberate around the grand hall. Everyone turned their heads to see a furious Troy standing tall, having recovered from being winded and deciding to ignore all warnings to stop the ceremony. "I object to this wedding and to the treatment of the Pacifican Princess, Marina! She has not consented to this- this outrage!"

"Silence, Tempest!" Titan yelled from his booth.

"Silence yourself, you rat!" Troy hissed back. "Marineville will get you for this, and then some!"

"SILENCE!"

"Silence yourself!" Troy jeered. Seeing the guards beginning to make their move towards him, the Captain knew it was time to act. Without a moment of hesitation, he ran into the nearest guard with his shoulder and barked for Gordon and Phones to make their move.

With a grin, Phones and Gordon both stood up and kicked the approaching guards in unison, spilling them into the church aisle. Within seconds, Phones had managed to swipe one of their harpoon guns with his bound hands and passed it to Troy, who sliced the sharp weapon against his friends' wrists, cutting the rope. Phones freed himself and replicated the gesture to free Troy and Gordon, who were quickly becoming surrounded.

Watching the events from the sidelines, Aquanas scowled at what had occurred. He snapped his hand out and grabbed Marina's wrist, pulling her away from the altar. He receded behind the chancel as the girl attempted to free herself from his grip to no avail.

From inside the circle of bad guys and standing back to back with his friends, Troy caught them leaving. "Marina!" he cried out, attempting to run forward. He was stopped by the Aquaphibian weapons being threateningly thrust his way.

"Any plans to get out of this one then, skipper? I'm all ears." Phones whispered over his shoulder to Troy.

Before Troy could reply, Gordon cut in. "Actually Phones, I do. Sorta. Got a bit of a distraction in mind to help with the old escape. I just need to get over to the back door."

"We've got you, Gords." Troy acknowledged with a nod, picking up the harpoon gun he'd used to free them.

"Well Tempest, are you and your friends going to surrender to us?" Titan boomed from the back of the crowd. "Because if you fail to do just that, I will order these guards to execute you in less than one marine minute."

"Do you know what my answer is, Titan?" Troy confidently glowered at him.

"What?"

Troy's mouth broke out into a cocky grin. "Have a nice fall!"

With a tremendous heave, Troy threw the harpoon right at Titan, hitting him square in the stomach. The King went toppling over and landed on his squeaking servant X-20, who flailed underneath him. The crowd of guards dispersed and ran back to check on their fallen leader, allowing the trio the valuable time they needed to dash over to the back door. After making it there, Gordon's hand fell on Troy's shoulder.

"We've got it covered here. Go and rescue Marina." Gordon reassured him.

Troy stared at his friend for a few moments, trying to process Gordon's words. A feeling of absolute trust passed between the two, and Troy nodded.

"I'll meet you in the submarine boarding tube for Stingray, if I can find it." Troy replied.

"You got it! Good luck, Captain." Phones saluted as Troy backed away from his friends and ran towards where Aquanas and Marina had gone. The spirited Carolinian then glanced over to Gordon as Titan screamed at his men to stop being idiots and go after the two remaining aquanauts.

"What's your plan, kiddo?" Phones asked, a sort of merriment in his voice.

"Do you like cake, Phones?" Gordon started.

"Cake?"

"Cake." Gordon smirked.

"I guess so. Why do you ask?"

Gordon waited for the guards to come a little closer. The young aquanaut then cleared his throat and moved his right foot so it was hovering over a thin trip wire which was hanging in the doorway. Gordon calmly pressed down on it, then moved himself aside.

"I present to you, cake."

Phones watched as the guards became aware of a noise that sounded like a coil of rope whistling through a cleat. Before they could act on it, a giant wedding cake fell from the ceiling, landing directly on X-20 before splattering the guards, the wedding reception, and most importantly, King Titan with a barrage of cake, icing, and decorations.

For a moment, everything was silent. Then Gordon let out a hearty laugh.

"Boy, did you see the way it landed on the silver fish guy? It completely flattened him!"

Phones chuckled without even realizing it as looked at the fallen, cake-covered guards with a grin. He turned to Gordon in a state of bemused amusement. "How did you even get the cake up there?"

"Trade secret. I may tell you about it sometime." Gordon winked with a smile.

Before the guards could get to their feet, the two aquanauts dashed back to where Sequalibra was tied up on the pew and staring incredulously at the scene before him.

Phones untied him and grabbed his arm, leading him in the direction of where Troy had disappeared after Marina. Gordon followed them and turned back to the scene of devastation he'd left behind, including a furious and frosting-covered Titan.

Gordon's laugh ricocheted down the corridor.
