It had been about a week, but Dream had finally made a full recovery in Turtleshell Town and was starting a relationship with her best friend, Zorba.
And now our heroes and their Pokémon were officially on road again to Roseheart City, only this time, the two Poké-humans were walking together hand-in-hand next to Starlene and Stark.
"Well, here we are, Roseheart Forest." Dream announced, she was excited about what Pokémon she could add to her team next. Zorba, on the other hand, wasn't that excited.
"Umm... Are you sure we need to go in there?" Zorba hesitated.
"Mm-Hmm. We need to add more Pokémon to our teams and we need to start training ourselves and the other Pokémon we have properly for the next gym." Replied Dream. "Isn't that what trainers do, anyway?"
"Well, yeah. But..." Zorba's voice quavered, he let out a small sigh. "Dream?" He frowned, "There's something I need to tell you."
"What's that?" Asked Dream, "Is something wrong?"
The Poke-human began, "When I was just a baby, there was a wild Gardevoir who was roaming around this forest one night looking for the source of a mysterious wailing sound, she searched and searched until she stumbled upon me and my human birth mother in this forest, or rather her body after a feral Pokémon had gotten to her."
Dream covered her mouth in disbelief, she knew that Zorba was from a forest, but he never told her that Roseheart Forest was where he grew up or about how the mother Gardevoir found him.
"The Gardevoir found my mother laying face down in the grass, a slash across her neck, when she heard the wailing noise coming from nearby. The noise was me crying under my mother's arm. Realizing what had happened, that Gardevoir had taken me to her home near a small pond where my sister, Ralts was born two days later." Zorba continued, tears forming in his eyes. "I stayed until I was 9 years old when I realized it became difficult for Gardevoir to raise both me and Ralts, and the night I had left this forest, I had touched our family's Draco Plate that allowed me to evolve into the 18 year old human Drakeon you see now and moved to Evergreen Town to be amongst other humans. One year later, I met you by the lake."
After her new boyfriend finished his story, Dream couldn't believe her ears. Holding the human Eeveelution close to her she said,
"Your story breaks my heart, Zorba. We need to find your mother."
"What?" Zorba exclaimed, "But how, Dream? I doubt she'd even recognize me now. And for all we know, my sister has probably evolved into a Gardevoir herself as well."
"Don't worry." Reassured Dream, "I'm sure that if we explain who you are when we find her and your sister, Gardevoir will be happy to see you again."
And with that, our heroes and their Pokémon took off into Roseheart Forest to try and find Zorba's family.
The two human-Eeveelutions made their way through Roseheart Forest for what seemed like hours when they noticed something particularly odd, this forest was deathly quiet. There was no noise not at all, not even a Pokémon was in sight or making a noise.
"I'm starting to get worried. There's not a single thing in sight." Dream conversed.
"I'm guessing that's not the only thing that is bothering you," Zorba added, looking around to see if there were any Pokémon in sight. "The fact that I read back at the entrance of the forest that there should be a lot of Pokémon roaming around here, and I see none. Not even the Gardevoir we're looking for."
"Can we stop? I'm getting tired." Dream huffed, sitting down on a big rock.
Suddenly, a rustling in the bushes alerted Starlene, who stopped and pointed ahead.
"What is it, Girl?" Asked Zorba.
"Aquine!" Cried Starlene, pointing her head in the direction of the sound.
The trainers and their Pokémon proceeded with caution, taking small steps towards the rustling bush. Zorba gently reached over and pulled back the branches to show a tall, green and white Pokémon sitting by a small beautiful, glowing pond. The human Drakeon could tell that this Pokémon was none other than...
"…Mother!" He screamed with joy.
Frightened by the sudden shout, the Gardevoir turned around in confusion to see the young man with silver hair and a pair of blue and red dog-like ears along with a pair of dragon's wings with a dragon's tail.
She then suddenly beamed happily and held her arms out, embracing her long lost son. "Zorba, it's you! Oh, I finally found my baby boy!"
"I'm glad I found you too, Mother." Zorba chimed, he turned his head to Dream, Starlene and Stark. "Mother, this is my girlfriend, Dream and our Pokémon, Starlene the Aquine and Stark the Purslayer."
The two Pokémon bowed their heads as if to greet the Gardevoir as Dream said, "I...I hope you don't mind. It's just that, ever since I came to Evergreen Town after the death of my father, Lucario, I had no one else to talk to who wasn't half-human and half-Eeveelution like me, and Zorba and our Pokémon have been so kind and caring to me. I guess I've really grown to love him and Stark has really grown to love Starlene."
While confused by what Dream said about having a Lucario for a father, Gardevoir just smiled and shook her head. "Oh, don't worry about it, Dear. I'm more than happy to know that my son has friends to be with now, and that he's found someone who cares about him as much as I do."
Dream then hugged Gardevoir along with Zorba, Stark and Starlene.
"You must've had quite an experience raising a little baby human Eevee alongside his little sister, Mrs. Gardevoir."
"Those were such happy times, Dream."
Gardevoir then thought back to when she was raising Zorba and Ralts when they were younger, rocking them to sleep, figuring out how to change them, and watching them playing in the trees.
"Then came that fateful day." Gardevoir then remembered how she lost Zorba when he was nine years old. One night, Zorba realized raising both him & his sister was becoming a burden to his mother. So he decided to leave while her pack was asleep and touch his late father's Draco Plate, causing him to evolve into an 18 year old human Drakeon.
She then turned to her son, "And after your sister left after turning old enough to live a life on her own, I went searching all over the world for you ever since." Zorba's mother showed the trainers a map of the world and the markings where she looked.
"I have had a lot of adventures and I have traveled to many regions." Gardevoir then pulled out a book with some different pictures of her during her search. "I survived the cold of Hoenn's Mt. Silver, made my way across the deserts of Unova's Desert Resort, swam across the oceans of the Alola region, ran through the grass of Shinnoh's Eterna Forest, went through the Reflection Cave of Kalos, and even became the Pokémon of a trainer in Galar."
After Gardevoir finished her story, Zorba explained that they were on their way to Roseheart City to earn their next gym badge and become the new champions of the Beria Region while also trying to figure out where they had come from.
His mother pointed the way out of the forest, "This path will lead you to the city." She answered, "But there's something I want you to have, before you go."
"What is it?" Zorba asked.
She then called for someone as two Pokémon that our heroes had never seen came out from behind a rock.
"Wiggly! Wigglytuff." Addressed the pink rabbit-like Pokémon with a a fluffy, curled tuft of fur on its head.
"Banette! Ban." Chirped the gray, doll-like Pokémon that bared a zipper for a mouth.
"I met these two Pokémon during my adventures in other regions, they've been keeping me company ever since we met, and I want you and Dream to take them with you as a part of your teams." Gardevoir offered.
"What? Are you sure about that?" Gasped her son.
"I insist, besides what kind of person would I be to leave these two Pokemon all alone. So, as the one raised you as my own, I'm giving you the opportunity to do the same for Wigglytuff and Banette." Gardevoir pleaded.
Zorba nodded, understandingly, "We'll try and do the best we can to raise them. Thank you so much, Mother." He replied.
So, with their new Pokémon in pokéballs, our heroes bid Zorba's mother goodbye and were on their way to Roseheart City, as the journey continued.
