Chapter 4
As the limo pulled up outside the restaurant Arizona wiped her clammy hands on her pants before grabbing Callie's. "are you ready?" she whispered as the driver opened the door
"as ready as I'll ever be" Callie placed a kiss on Arizona's cheek before she climbed out, holding out her hand to help Arizona out. Only to pull her in close for another kiss. "I love you"
"eww get a room"
"of course," Arizona whispered turning around "hey sissy"
"don't hey me, what the fuck are we doing here?" Teddy asked, not liking being out of the loop. In her opinion Arizona should tell her everything before she tells anyone else.
"guess you'll have to wait and see" Arizona smiled at Callie "Teddy you remember Callie's dad"
"I do" Teddy reached out her hand "how are you doing Mr. Torres?"
"please call me Carlos" he said reaching out his hand
"oh, this is my girlfriend April" Teddy said introducing April who stood there smiling Arizona thought she looked like an idiot, but who was she to judge, she too probably looked that way. As the two shook hands and said their hello's "mom and dad should already be inside, I had to drive myself, they couldn't wait for me"
"stop taking forever getting ready and maybe they would have" Teddy punched Arizona in the shoulder. "shall we?" Arizona asked motioning to the door. The wait staff already knowing who she was, after all she was a big-time musician or 'rock star' as Teddy would put it. They were ushered to a room in the back, with a table big enough to fit 100 people around it.
"I gotta start going out with you more often" Teddy giggled, as she ushered April to the table, holding out her chair, Arizona just rolled her eyes and shook her head at the comment, but watching her sister she couldn't do anything but smile. She was happy Teddy finally gave April a chance, she knew they would be good for each other. She's seen Teddy date other girls before, but she could tell April was different, or at least she hoped. The way her sister was acting with her had her thinking it was different. Looking over at Callie she suddenly remembered why they had called this meeting. Suddenly feeling more nervous than she'd ever been she pulled Callie off to the side.
"you realize we are about to tell these people we are getting married"
"yes" Callie laughed kissing her "I do, and I can't wait"
"you're not nervous?" there was a tremble in her voice.
Callie looked Arizona directly in the eye "to be honest, yes I am" she paused "but Arizona, when it comes to you. Baby, I'm ready for anything"
"such a charmer"
"hey I charmed you on our first date"
"second" Arizona whispered smiling, nodding towards the table. "you all remember Callie's dad?" as she heard the mummers of yes. "alright" she gave Callie a half smile thinking 'here goes nothing' before she could say anything Callie broke the silence
"as you know I ask Arizona to marry me, and she's been wearing a ring since" she said looking at Arizona with a smile Arizona knew was only for her. "I love you so much, words cannot express"
"you're a writer" Teddy giggled always adding her two cents, when Callie looked at her she noticed how she had her arm around April protecting her from any harm. Then looking back at Arizona who had her hand on Callie's thigh, like she often did no matter what they were always touching. Shaking her head trying to get her train of thought back. She took a deep breath, with a nod and a smile from Arizona they both blurted out "we're going to Vegas this weekend to get married"
"where did this come from?" Arizona's mother asked
"oh, Barb you knew it was coming, shit she hasn't been home since her and Callie got back together" her father said smiling. "I'm happy for you honey"
"thanks dad, and just to be clear, I wouldn't have been home anyway, I was supposed to be out on tour" Arizona smiled it was funny how her family was. When Barbara had finally gotten pregnant after years of trying, they couldn't decide on a name, after racking their brains for weeks, Daniel told the story of how his dad was killed in the attack on pearl harbor on the USS Arizona, he saved 19 people before he himself drowned. It was actually Barbara's idea to name Arizona after the ship.
"you know, sometimes I still find it weird, I have two daughters who are both gay" Daniel smiled looking at his girls
"dad" Teddy exclaimed, as the rest laughed
"to Arizona and Callie!" he said holding up his glass as everyone else followed suit.
"so who's all going on this adventure?" Teddy asked setting her glass on the table.
"whoever wants too" Arizona smiled. "Callie isn't too thrilled with me leaving." Glancing over at Callie "to be honest I'm not either, so I, we, thought this would be a way we could both have some peace of mind" Callie smiled, but deep inside knew exactly what Arizona was feeling. They both had an uneasy feeling about Arizona going on tour, but Arizona was right, getting married meant that no matter what they'd have each other. Callie grabbed Arizona's hand under the table and gave it a light squeeze.
"I for one think it's great" Carlos said he was normally the quiet one only talking when he was talked to, smiling at his daughter and the keeper of her heart "and I will be there front and center"
"who's paying?" Teddy asked with a smile.
"oh my god you're hopeless" Arizona said smiling at her sister
"and helpless, come on help a poor girl out"
"Theodora you aren't poor, you have a job, and live at home rent free" Barbara said tossing her napkin across the table
"I'll pay for your plane ticket and hotel room just bring spending money"
"then count me in" Teddy said picking up the napkin and tossing it back at her mother
Callie, sitting there watching it all, got lost in thoughts of the first dinner she had with this family.

"you're here" Teddy said walking into the entry way after hearing the door open. "hi Callie" Arizona shook her head knowing how the night was going to go. With her family, nothing ever came easy. She wouldn't go as far to say they were dysfunctional, but sometimes shit got crazy.
"come on" Arizona whispered ushering Callie farther into the house "don't be nervous they don't bite" as she placed her hand on Callie's lower back, she could feel her tremble.
"mom and dad are in the living room" Teddy said as she headed off to a different room.
Taking a deep breath, and grabbing Callie's hand, sending up a prayer to whatever god was listening that her parents would behave themselves and not embarrass her too much. They were the fun-loving kind, love their children to death but also loved humiliating them when the time was right. Arizona had witness it enough times with Teddy, she herself tried to keep a low profile when it came to them. "mom, dad, this is Callie"
"Callie, it's so good to finally meet you" Barbara said standing up and walking over almost scaring Callie to death, she reached out and embraced her in a hug as Arizona leaned over and whispered "I forgot to tell you she loves hugs"
"so just like you" Callie smiled. "thank you, Mrs. Robbins, it's good to finally meet you too"
"please, you're dating my daughter, call me Barbara, or Barb. Besides Mrs. Robbins is my mother-in-law" she said letting go of the embrace "please come, sit" she motioned toward the couch as Arizona led the way. "we've heard so much about you, well as much as Teddy knows. She's said that you worked at The Coffee House at the mall, and you two met while she and Arizona were having coffee" Barbara sat up straighter in her chair "she also said that Arizona was so nervous she couldn't talk to you at first"
"mom" Arizona exclaimed her face turning red.
"well I'd know more if you'd talk to me"
"this is what I deal with" Arizona said rolling her eyes, Callie smiled, finally feeling herself relax.

"well that was fun"
"admit it you enjoy spending time with my family" Arizona said putting her wallet on the dresser.
"well it is rather entertaining, especially when your mom gets Teddy going"
"yeah that is pretty funny" Arizona chuckled, as she reached for her shorts she normally slept in
"why are you putting them on?" Callie asked walking up behind her
"because I'm getting ready for bed"
"hmm" Callie hummed, wrapped her arms around her and whispered "I thought we'd celebrate our engagement" kissing Arizona's neck she pulled away "but if you don't want too"
"oh, I want too" Arizona said turning around and grabbing Callie before she had the chance to get far. "and I want you" she said kissing her, pushing her on the bed. She pulled back to look her in the eye "I love you, I hope you know that" Callie didn't say anything her answer was written all over that smile and the look in her eyes. She reached up and pulled Arizona back into the kiss, which became more heated when Arizona felt Callie's tongue slide across her lower lip asking for access to her mouth, opening her mouth, granting it Arizona found their tongues fighting for control of the kiss, as she gave in and let Callie take control. They quickly switched positions so that Callie was on top. As she began the slow journey down Arizona's body, stopping at all the right places.

"are you staying with me tonight?" Callie asked as they pulled up in front of her house.
"that depends" Arizona chuckled
"on what?"
"on rather or not you still want to be with me after meeting my family"
"why would meeting your family have anything to do with me wanting to be with you?" Callie asked confused, Arizona had warned her how her family was. And if she was honest, she loved the fact that they were the way they were.
"my family is crazy" Arizona giggled
"actually" she paused moving in the seat to be able to look at Arizona "I find it cool, I love how laid back everyone is, and how you can talk about anything with your parents. I especially love how they don't bat an eye at the fact that you and Teddy are both gay" Arizona just smiled, it was at that moment, she realized she was completely in love with Callie "that and it's nice to be a part of a family again"
"so, you're not breaking up with me?" Arizona giggled
"nope, you're stuck with me" Callie reached for her hand "now, are you staying with me tonight"
"yes" was all Arizona could get out without her emotions getting the better of her.
"good" Callie said reaching for the door handle. Arizona sat there contemplating what was just said, and her feelings. They hadn't been together all that long, she couldn't figure out why or how, she could have fallen so deeply in love with Callie already. "are you coming" Callie asked already standing outside the car.
"yes" Arizona said turning off the car and taking the key out. Walking around the car Callie grabbed her. "I had an amazing time tonight" she said placing a soft kiss on her lips. Pulling away and grabbing her hand. The door had barely gotten closed when Callie had Arizona pinned up against it. Breathing heavy, Callie pulled back, brushing the hair out of Arizona's eyes she whispered, "make love to me." Arizona didn't say anything just pushed herself off the door, grabbing Callie's hand she led the way to the bedroom. Feeling a little nervous, yeah they'd spent nights together, but they hadn't taken their relationship to the next level. Laying Callie on the bed she felt her tremble beneath her. Pulling back, so she could look into the chocolate brown orbs "are you sure? Because once I start I'm not going to be able to stop" Callie nodded smiling, pulling Arizona back into the heated kiss.

They were awakened by a knock at the door "hey girls"
"yeah, dad" Callie said in her groggy state
"I have somethings I need to talk to you about before I leave"
"what time is it?"
"almost noon"
"ok we'll be down in a bit" Callie said trying to move out of Arizona's protective embrace. "hey beautiful" she said trying to wake Arizona up
"mm"
"we have to get up"
"mm" Arizona said pulling her closer and kissing her neck
"no, dad needs to talk to us before he leaves, we have to get up"
"guh, fine" Arizona said with a smile letting go of Callie and stretching "I suppose that means I have to put clothes on"
"unless you want my dad to see you naked, I suggest it" Callie said throwing Arizona her shorts and a shirt
"well I have to pee anyway" Arizona said swinging her legs over the side of the bed, as the sheet fell Callie noticed all the marks.
"damn" she said blushing "do they hurt?"
"not much" Arizona said putting her clothes on walking over to Callie, "besides it's a good hurt, and I like it that you do that" placing a kiss on her lips she walked out of the room.

"it's about time"
"yeah sorry, was up late"
"yeah I heard you" Carlos said with a smile, knowing how she'd react, as he handed her a cup of coffee
"you, eh, you heard us?" Callie asked embarrassed
"I heard one of you go to the bathroom around 2"
"oh, you heard us go to the bathroom" Callie said letting out the breath she wasn't aware she was holding. Sitting down at the kitchen table seeing Arizona walk into the kitchen "what did you want to talk to us about"
"I got the plane tickets" he said
"oh, cool how much do I owe you?" Arizona asked joining Callie at the table with her coffee
"nothing" he said with a smile
"nothing? You got all 7 tickets and I don't owe you anything" Arizona was confused
"like I said I got a deal on them. I do work for an airline, besides mine was free, I just have to fly the plane" he said smiling at his soon to be daughter in law.
"so now I have to reserve the rooms" Arizona looked at Callie who was sitting there with a grin on her face. "also, have to call and make an appointment for the wedding"
"I'll do that" Callie said blowing on her coffee before she took a drink.
"you're flying out Friday at noon" Carlos said walking out of the kitchen. Leaving the two alone with their thoughts.
"we're getting married" Callie said after a few minutes
"yes, we are" Arizona smiled
"then you're leaving"
"don't" Arizona said getting up, walking around the table and sat on Callie's lap. "don't think about that. I won't be gone long"
"long enough" Callie said looking up into those pools of blue "I just" she was cut off by Arizona's lips.

"alright everything is booked, we're staying at the Venetian. And a limo will pick us up at the airport" Arizona said setting her phone on the coffee table.
"and we're getting married there at 2 on Saturday" Callie said smiling, that smile that made Arizona's heart skip a beat.
"there's just one more thing we need to do, well a couple actually" Arizona said, Callie made her way to the couch and sitting down next to her.
"and that is?" Callie asked curiously as she moved closer on the couch sitting on Arizona's lap.
"rings and wedding clothes" Arizona smiled
"let's go shopping" Callie smiled, she loved to shop, Arizona, not so much
"right now?"
"sure, why not, what else do we have to do today?"
"um" Arizona said thinking "nothing" she added smiling as she leaned in for a kiss.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"hello" Arizona said into her phone, trying and failing at shielding herself from the noise of the store.
"hey, how would you feel about doing a show while in Vegas?" April's voice came through the line.
"really? You want me to work when I'm on vacation to get married?"
"sure why not" April said, sometimes Arizona hated the fact that they were so close.
"guh" Arizona said looking at Callie who could see the irritation in her eyes "I have to talk to Callie"
"fine get back to me" she said "by the way when are we leaving?"
"the limo will be there to pick you guys up at 9 on Friday, our flight leaves at noon"
"Friday" April exclaimed "that's great the show they wanted you for is Friday night at the Mirage"
"oh joy" Arizona said rolling her eyes "I'll talk to Callie and call you later"
"kk bye" April sang
"bye" Arizona said hitting the end button and shoving her phone in her pocket sighing
"let me guess April, and she wants you to do a show while we are in Vegas"
"bingo"
"well go for it, you haven't played since we got back together" Callie said not looking away from the display case "can I see that one"
"I like it" Arizona said taking a closer look
"good, it's for you"
"me? I thought we'd just get you one"
"why? Because I'm the more 'girly'" Callie said using the air quotes.
"no" Arizona giggled holding up her left hand "I have this one"
"that" Callie said taking her hand bringing it to her mouth placing a soft kiss on the ring "is your engagement ring"
"but"
"no Arizona" Callie said letting go of Arizona's hand "you're getting one too"
"oh my god, I thought I recognized you" the woman behind the counter said "you're Arizona Robbins"
Rolling her eyes, she loved her job, but hated all the attention she got from it, smiling she looked up "yes I am"
"you don't remember me, do you?"
"ah" Arizona said looking at Callie confused
"I'm Miranda Bailey, we went to school together" the woman said with a smile.
Looking at the woman, still confused, she mentally ran the name through her head, as it clicked "oh Miranda Bailey, how have you been?" Looking at the woman now she remembered her.
"I've been good, not as good as you apparently" she said smiling.
"this is my soon to be wife, Callie" Arizona said motioning to Callie who smiled her hello
"how's Teddy doing?" the woman asked with a curious smile
"she's doing good, still living with my parents"
"we always thought she'd be 35 and still living in your parents basement" Miranda giggled "in fact that was one of our biggest jokes"
"I remember" Arizona joined in on the giggle "Teddy was, or well is"
"I get it" Callie said smiling. "I think I know your sister"
"so, when's the big day?" the woman said
"we're going to Vegas this weekend" Callie said not taking her eyes off Arizona "she's leaving for tour next month we wanted to do it before she left"
"oh, right I read about that" Miranda smiled "I was thinking about getting tickets for the show in Minneapolis"
"why don't I do you one better, give me your info and I'll make sure you get tickets" Arizona said smiling.
"sounds good, I'll make sure you have it before you leave" Miranda said excitedly
"now back to this ring" Callie said pointing to the ring Arizona still had in her hand "try it on"
Rolling her eyes at her lovers request she took off the 'engagement ring' as Callie had called it and slid the other on, surprised at how comfortable it was. "I like it"
"alright we'll take it, and the one I was looking at over there"
"sounds good" Miranda smiled "I'll get them boxed up for you"
"wow" Callie said once Miranda was out of ear shot
"what?"
"she was obviously hitting on you"
"ah no" Arizona said shaking her head "she was one of Teddy's best friends growing up, I don't know why they lost contact"
"still think she was hitting on you"
"would it matter if she was? I mean we are here buying wedding rings, I'm obviously taken"
"damn right you are"
"I was gonna add happily but" Arizona was cut off by Callie smacking her arm, as she leaned in and whispered "baby, you know I only have eyes for you" and kissed her cheek
"here you go" Miranda said coming from the back
"thank you" Arizona said taking the bag and handing Miranda her card.
"alright you're all set, here's my info, if you would pass that along to Teddy, I'd love to see her again, and catch up"
"I'd be glad too, I'll see you at the show" Arizona said with a final smile as Callie grabbed her free hand and they headed out the door.
