Chapter 13
"hello everyone" Arizona smiled as she made her way into the room
"yay, Arizona's here, now maybe they'll leave me alone" Miley said
"doubtful" Blake laughed "by the way, you still trying to go country this season?"
"shut it" Miley said throwing her empty water bottle at them.
"I can see this is going to be a fun season" Arizona said setting her bag down on the chair that had her name on it.
"yeah, it's pretty fun, most days" Miley said laughing
"Arizona did your wife come with you?" Adam asked
"no, she's back home, she had to work"
"you make her work?" Blake said in a tone that let Arizona know he thought she was foolish.
"I don't make her, she chooses to, we are actually, in the process of buying the coffee shop she's worked at since she was 15, that's why I'm here" Arizona said
"you don't make enough off your record sales to pay for it?" Blake asked confused, looking at Adam.
"I do, I, we didn't want to drain our savings"
"drain your savings, buying a coffee shop" he laughed "and she's supposed to be this big rock star"
"well I have only been at it a few years" Arizona said, 'maybe now is the time to tell them' "It could have been sooner if someone would have turned around"
"huh?" Blake and Adam both said in unison
"about 4 years ago, on season 2 I believe, I was on the show" Arizona said as she watched the two guys give her a confused look. "none of you turned around, I was devastated"
"what do you mean" Blake asked
"Arizona Robbins" Adam said softly "from Madison, Wisconsin" Arizona smiled "oh my god, I'm so sorry"
"you remember her?" Blake asked, looking at him confused
"yeah, she sang Your Song by Elton John" Adam said "as I recall I almost turned around, but didn't get to it quick enough"
"you say that now" Arizona laughed. "I've been waiting to tell you guys this"
"this is hilarious" Miley said, "would you have turned around for me?"
"doubtful" Blake said "well, who would you have picked?"
"Christina" Arizona smiled as she turned around
"ouch" Blake said putting his hand over his heart pretending to be hurt
"I'm just kidding I probably would have went with you, Adam, seeing we're in the same genre of music"
"I don't think you needed my help anyway, you're doing amazing on your own" Adam said, Arizona smiled her thanks. As the lights flickered
"time to go" Miley smiled "hey just stick by me and we'll get through this season alive, those two can be, what's the right word"
"idiots" Arizona giggled
"yeah" Miley smiled as she looped her arm through Arizona's, and they headed towards the area where the blind auditions were being held.
"wow" Arizona said, looking around seeing the big chair with her name on it.
"a little much for you" Adam asked
"no, I just" Arizona paused smiling "I just never thought I'd be back here, let alone as a judge"
"well, you're amazing Arizona, and who ever ends up on your team will be better for it" he patted her on the back and took his seat. Arizona smiled looking around "yeah, I suppose so" she said to herself as she sat down.

"you know it's tradition for the newest member to buy dinner" Blake said
"dinner huh?" Arizona laughed
"awe Blake are you asking her on a date?" Miley asked laughing
"ah no, I'm just hungry" he said
Arizona smiled thinking this would be a good chance to get to know these people she'll be working with for the next 3 months. "isn't it a little early for dinner?"
"well yeah, but" Blake started to say but was cut off by Arizona laughing "I'm in, I just have to call my sister"
"your sister?" Adam asked confused
"yeah, she's back at the hotel"
"your sister" he said again and laughed
"yeah, she's cool, she'll love meeting you guys, if that's cool" Arizona said for a moment she got nervous
"I'd love to meet her" Miley exclaimed, "dinner sounds great, I have to do a few things, but I can meet y'all there"
"ok sounds good" Arizona smiled as she stepped away and pulled out her phone. The phone didn't even ring before she heard Teddy's voice "what's up sissy?"
"so, apparently it's a tradition for the newbie to buy dinner" Arizona said
"oh, ok" Arizona could hear the disappointment in Teddy's voice
"you know that means you're coming with, right?"
"really? You're gonna let me meet those guys?" Teddy said
"against my better judgement, but yes" Arizona laughed "the car is on its way so get ready and get your ass downstairs"
"ok" Teddy said, Arizona didn't say anymore as she pushed the end button, shaking her head and shoving her phone back in her pocket.
"you told her the car was on the way, yet you haven't called them yet" Adam said
"I know, but if I don't tell her that, she'll take forever getting ready, especially that she knows she is meeting you guys" Arizona laughed
"ah one of those" Adam smiled watching Arizona as she pulled out her phone again calling the car service, as they made their way to the exit.

"is that your sister?" Blake asked as their limo pulled up outside the restaurant
"she looks nothing like you" Adam said shaking his head.
"yeah there's along story behind that" Arizona sighed
"well then" Adam said opening the door as they stepped out. Teddy spotted them and stopped in her tracks. Arizona shook her head and smiled.
"Adam, Blake, this is my sister Teddy" Arizona laughed, Teddy was still standing there just staring "don't mind her, she's never met anyone famous before"
"ok" Blake said as he held out his hand "hi, I'm Blake" Teddy just stared blankly
"this is where you shake his hand" Arizona laughed
"oh, right, um hi I'm Teddy Robbins" she reached out her hand
"hey thanks for waiting for me" they heard a voice say from behind them
"we didn't wait for you, we just got here" Blake rolled his eyes with a laugh
"shut up" Miley hit him "you must be Arizona's sister" she reached out her hand "I'm Miley"
"Teddy" Teddy smiled taking it.
"let's go I'm starving" Adam piped in as he made his way to the door.

"hey" Callie said as she saw April standing on the other side of the counter "I'm almost done" she smiled
"ok" April smiled
"can I get you anything?" Callie asked
"sure"
"your usual?"
"of course,"
Callie smiled as she busied herself making April's coffee "so what do you want to do tonight?"
"have to somehow talk your wife into getting in and recording a few new tracks"
"ha, good luck with that" Callie said handing April her drink "she's been so busy I haven't heard from her at all today"
"yeah I haven't heard from Teddy either" April said thinking about it.
"hmm, well I hope they're having fun" Callie said, "I'll be back in a minute, gotta go clock out and talk to Richard"
"sounds good, I'll be over there" April said nodding to a table

"hey baby" Arizona said into the phone
"hi, I hadn't heard from you today, so I just wanted to check in and see how everything was" Callie said, trying hard not to seem needy, although she knew Arizona would see right through it.
Arizona smiled "everything is good, we're just finishing up dinner, then we're going to check out a house"
"that's cool, on the beach?" Callie asked as she grabbed her jacket and purse from her locker
"of course, can't be living in LA and not be on the beach" Arizona smiled
"ok" Callie smiled as she made her way she saw April sipping on her coffee "well I just called to say I love you and I'll talk to you later, April and I are going for dinner"
"sounds good beautiful, I'll call you when I'm back at the hotel"
"don't make it too late, I have an early shift tomorrow"
"suppose we have to get used to that huh?" Arizona laughed
"you do, I don't, I'm already used to it" Callie joked
"alright, I love you, I'll talk to you later"
"I love you too" Callie said hanging up the phone, shoving it in her pocket.
"I'm assuming you were just talking to Arizona, by that stupid look on your face" April said playfully
"yeah, they are having an early dinner, and are going to check out a place to rent" Callie smiled.
"that's cool, Teddy sent me a text saying something about having dinner with Blake, Adam and Miley"
"oh good lord" Callie laughed "I wonder how that went? I'll have to make sure to ask when she calls later"

"alright guys, we have to be going" Arizona said, they had finished with dinner and were sitting around talking
"oh right you're going to see about that house" Miley said
"hey, if that doesn't work out for you, let me know I know someone who" Blake started to say
"you know someone in LA? I thought all your 'friends' were back in Tennessee or Oklahoma" Adam said using air quotes as he said friends
"shut it" Blake said "really let me know"
"will do, thanks guys this was fun, we'll do it again" Arizona smiled as she pushed her chair back and stood up
"it was nice meeting all of you" Teddy said, which prompted Arizona to laugh, Teddy had always been the more outgoing one of the two of them, but you wouldn't be able to tell with the way she acted tonight.
"you too Teddy" Miley smiled, Arizona nodded towards the door where a car was waiting. She handed the driver the address to where they needed to go, as she and Teddy climbed in the back.
"I hope this place is good" Teddy smiled "it'd be awesome to stay right on the beach"
"yeah it would, Callie would love it, her dream has always been to live on the beach"
"too bad she won't be living here" Teddy said
"yeah" Arizona sighed looking out the window
"what's up?" Teddy asked
"I, eh, I just miss Callie, next week can't come soon enough" Arizona said turning to look at her sister
"I understand, I miss April too" Teddy reached over and took her sisters hand in hers.
"thanks for coming out here with me" Arizona said looking up in to her sister's eyes
"no problem, I'm having fun" Teddy smiled as the car pulled to a stop in front of a house "whoa" Teddy said looking out the window "how much is the rent on this place?"
"um I think she said 1,500"
"a month?" Teddy exclaimed
"yeah" Arizona laughed "come on let's go check it out" she said seeing a couple standing out by a car, with a folder in the lady's hand.
"you must be Arizona?" the man said reaching out his hand
"honey you must be on crack if you don't know who Arizona Robbins is" the woman said reaching out her hand "I'm Melinda, and this is Gary"
"hello, I'm obviously Arizona, and this is my sister Teddy" Arizona smiled
"shall we" Gary said nodding towards the house, as he went over how long he's owned the house, stating that it was their first house when they moved to LA from Chicago. After the tour, they met on the back deck that over looked the ocean, the sun was beginning to set, Arizona loved the view "how long did you say you'd be here?"
"6 months or so, as long as it takes to film" Arizona said not taking her eyes off the amazing view. "my wife is going to love this" she smiled "I'm sorry, I'll be here for about 6 months, I'm one of the judges on The Voice this season"
"oh" Melinda perked up
"I'm not allowed to say anything about the show, other than that" Arizona smiled
"when does it come out on tv?" she asked
"um" Arizona looked at Teddy and laughed "I'm not sure"
"alright you saw the house, and this amazing view" Gary smiled
"I miss it" Melinda looked out over the water
"I love it" Arizona said, looking at Teddy "I'll take it"
"awesome" Gary said reaching for the folder Melinda was holding. "if I could get you to sign the lease, I made it out for month to month if that's ok"
"whatever works best for you" Arizona smiled "where do I sign?" he pointed to the paper
"I'll need first month's rent, and security deposit as soon as possible" he said
Arizona reached into her back pocket pulling out her check book "wow who uses those anymore?" Teddy laughed, Arizona glared at her "you want to stay in the hotel?"
"ah no"
"then I suggest you shut it" Arizona said opening her check book "who do I make it out too?"
"Gary Jorgensen" he smiled. As they watched Arizona scribble on the check, then rip it out and hand it to him. "wow" he said looking at it "not too many people can afford to pay it all upfront"
"well" Arizona smiled
"not too many people are rich" Melinda said
"I'm not rich, I'm just well off" Arizona smiled
"alright, well here are the keys, it's all yours" Gary smiled "if you need anything, you have my number"
"thank you" Arizona smiled as they walked to the front door they had entered the house through
"no, Arizona thank you, it's been hard trying to rent this place" he said looking at her
"I'll make sure to take good care of it" she said hearing her phone go off "oh I'm sorry, it's my wife, I need to take it" she pulled her phone out "hey baby, hold on a second" she pulled the phone away from her ear "thank you again Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen" she reached out her free hand, as the couple smiled and headed out the door. "sorry, hi, how are you?"
"you got the house, didn't you?"
"I did" Arizona smiled
"on the beach" Callie asked
"mmhmm" Arizona said making her way back to the deck "the view is amazing Callie, I can't wait to sit with you on the deck and watch the sunset"
"are you gonna have time for that?"
"I'll make time" Arizona could tell by the silence on the phone that Callie was missing her "Calliope" she whispered
"yeah"
"I hope you know how much I love and miss you" Arizona said hoping her sister wasn't anywhere hearing this
"I think I do" Callie smiled, Arizona and her words always had a way of turning her mood around. "I was about to head to bed, so I wanted to call and talk to you for bit, but you're busy, so I'll let you go"
"it's ok, I can talk now" Arizona said feeling sad, she hadn't had much time the last 2 days to talk to Callie, especially with the time difference
"I'm tired anyway, how about I call you on my break tomorrow" Callie said hoping that would put both of them at ease.
"and skype tomorrow night" Arizona smiled, "hopefully I can lock myself in a room" she added in a whisper.
"ok" Callie smiled "I love you and I'll talk to you tomorrow"
"I love you too baby" Arizona smiled hanging up the phone, going back in the house to find Teddy. Laughing when she saw her already stake claim to a room "I guess you found your room"
"if you don't mind? It's got an amazing view" Teddy said looking out the window
"yeah it does" Arizona said joining her sister at the window "besides the other one has the same view and a bathroom attached" Arizona smile "come on, let's go get our stuff and check out of that hotel"
"and get some wine or something" Teddy said looking at Arizona
"sounds good sissy" Arizona smiled.

The four judges sat in their chairs with their backs turned as the music started, and the voice started to sing. As they listened Miley commented on how good she was, but nobody turned. When the song had ended, and the chairs spun around, Arizona instantly regretted not hitting her button. She thought the young lady on the stage was good but wasn't what she was looking for on her team. Blake is the first to talk "what's your name sweetheart?"
"Whitney Nelson, I'm 19 from Fargo, North Dakota"
"North Dakota, wow, it's cold there" Adam said trying to lighten the mood
"yeah" she said
"I don't want you to get discouraged no one turned for you" Arizona said, moving in her chair to get more comfortable "I was on the show on the second season and no one turned around for me" she paused seeing the tears swell up in Whitney's eyes. She stood up from the chair and went up to Whitney, wrapping her arms around her as she whispered "look at me now, you have an amazing voice, and that song was a great choice for you, my advice for you is to come back next season, you've definitely got something" she smiled as Miley took over with some advice of her own, along with Adam and Blake, all telling her to come back next season. Arizona walked with Whitney off the stage, before she let her go she gave her one last hug. "I understand how you feel right now, just keep at it and come back next season" she whispered
"thank you" Whitney said as she disappeared
"did you really have to bring that up?" Adam asked as their chairs spun back around
"of course I did" Arizona laughed "they need to know it's not the end of the world if none of us turns around"
"I agree with Arizona" Miley laughed
"you would" Blake says playfully
"shut it" they all laughed as music starts to play.

"Arizona, when does your wife get here?" Miley asked as they were getting ready to leave for the day
"they should be at the house now, Teddy was taking a car to pick them up at 1" Arizona said as she put a few items into her bag
"they?" Miley asked confused
"yeah April, my manager, and Callie"
"you're friends with your manager?" Adam asked
"I am" Arizona smiled "she's also my sister in law"
"so, Teddy is gay too?" Adam asked he was surprised, when they met Teddy she didn't seem gay
Arizona laughed out her answer "yes, my sister is also a lesbian"
"who'd a thunk" Adam laughed
"anyway, I'm out, I'll see you all tomorrow" Arizona said tossing her bag over her shoulder and leaving the room.

Arizona walked into the house, and instantly smelled Callie. The perfume and body wash she used is a smell Arizona will never forget. Setting her keys on the table, she smiled, excited to see her wife. As she made her way through the house she didn't hear anyone. Smiling when she looked out the patio door, there she was, her dark hair blowing in the breeze. Callie must have felt her presence, as she turned her head they locked eyes. Arizona was reminded of that day Callie showed up in her dressing room, on her last tour. Callie got up and flew into Arizona's arms.
"so much for doing anything tonight" Teddy whispered into April's ear.
"oh, let them be" April said as she placed a kiss on Teddy's cheek.

"I've missed you so much" Callie said once they broke for air.
"I missed you too, did you have a good flight?" Arizona said pulling back as she led Callie back outside, sitting down Callie sat on her lap.
"I did, and I love the house by the way"
"me too, can't wait to see the sunset" April said looking out over the water
"oh my god, baby that's amazing" Teddy exclaimed "the night we came to check it out we were here at sunset, it was amazing"
"that's what prompted me to get it" Arizona smiled, as Callie nuzzled herself closer.

Later that night Arizona's phone went off,
Hey everything got canceled for tomorrow, apparently Blake got sick, what a big baby ~M
"nice" Arizona laughed
"who is it?" Callie asked they were cuddled together on the couch
"Miley. Apparently, production got canceled for tomorrow because Blake is sick"
"oh" Callie said as Arizona tapped out her reply and hit send.
I think we should get together for lunch ~M
I think you just want to meet Callie ~A
maybe ?~M
"what do you say we have lunch with her tomorrow?" Arizona asked
"sure, I'd love to meet her" Callie said casually, even though inside she was jumping for joy at meeting Miley Cyrus

How about you come here, we can order in or April can cook, she's an amazing cook, I'm drooling just thinking about it ~A

Ok, need your addy ~M Arizona laughed as she typed out the address to the house "guess she'll be here at noon"
"who will?" Teddy asked coming into the room
"Miley, she's coming for lunch" Callie said Teddy looked at Arizona confused
"apparently Blake got sick, so we got the day off"
"ah, so she's coming here?" Teddy asked casually
"yup for lunch" Callie smiled
"awesome" Teddy smiled
"what's going on in here?" April asked as she made her way into the room
"oh nothing, except Miley Cyrus is coming tomorrow for lunch" Callie smiled, still trying to keep her cool.
"that's cool, I met her once, back in '95, at one of her dad's concerts" April said sitting down in the chair, smiling "so what am I making?"
"you're amazing" Arizona smiled "and whatever you want, but if you'll forgive me, it's getting late" Arizona said looking at the clock, it was only 8 "I'd like to take my wife to bed, I missed her" she stood up reaching for Callie's hand, pulled her up and led her to the bedroom.

Callie woke up with the sun the next morning, trying and failing at rolling over to check the time, she eventually gave up, as she looked over at Arizona who had her pinned to the bed. She kissed Arizona's head and laid her head back down on the pillow. Forcing her eyes closed, trying hard to go back to sleep tucked under Arizona's protective embrace. Finally admitting defeat when her bladder was calling, Callie untangled herself from Arizona's octopus style hold, and climbed out of bed. Throwing on Arizona's robe she quietly made her way into the on suite bathroom. Looking in the mirror in the bathroom she couldn't help but smile when she saw the marks on her chest, and the way certain muscles ached. She had missed Arizona, even though it had only been two weeks. Finishing up in the bathroom she went back into the bedroom to put some actual clothes on, she didn't want to scare April or Teddy. Starting a pot of coffee, she found Arizona's not so hidden stash of smokes, she made herself a cup of coffee and headed out to the deck, which overlooked the ocean. Staring out over the water she was lost in thoughts, having Arizona gone was hard, she had issues every time they spent more than a couple hours apart, that was something she'd never tell Arizona. She almost did when she and Teddy went and met them on the last tour, but decided against it. Coming out of her thoughts when she heard the door open, she looked over and saw April. "morning" April smiled as she made her way, coffee in her hand, to the empty chair. Callie smiled, and nodded her greeting "sure is beautiful here"
"yeah it is" Callie smiled
"guess we're both still on a different time zone" April laughed
"guess so" Callie smiled
"you excited to meet Miley?" April asked trying to get more out of Callie, she knew she hadn't been the same since Arizona left.
"yes I am" Callie said finally looking at April "I've never met anyone famous before" April smiled at her as they kept the talk light, until they both woke up more.

"Zo a car just pulled up" Teddy said looking out the window
"stalker, get away from the window" Arizona said from the living room as the doorbell rang "are you going to get that?"
"no, it's your house" Teddy said sitting down.
"oh my god" Arizona laughed, standing up rolling her eyes
"I thought you and Miley were besties" Callie joked, as Teddy glared at her.
Arizona laughed as she opened the door, to a smiling face. "hi" she said moving so Miley could enter the house.
"nice place you have here" she said looking around
"thanks" Arizona smiled "come on in, you know my sister Teddy" Arizona said nodding towards Teddy, Teddy smiled and nodded "and this beauty right here" she went and sat next to Callie "is my amazing wife Callie"
"stop" Callie blushed
"it's nice to finally meet you, Callie, Arizona talks about you all the time" Miley said reaching out her hand.
"it's, nice to meet you too" Callie stammered out as she reached out her hand to shake Miley's
"well, have a seat" Arizona smiled "April is in the kitchen making lunch"
"I can smell it, it smells amazing" Miley said as she sat down.
"it better be amazing" April said coming into the room wiping her hands on a towel "hi, I'm April" she reached out her hand to Miley
"have I met you before?" Miley asked,
"back in the 90's I met your dad on one of his tours, I don't know if you were there or not, I don't remember too much" April laughed
"you're Arizona's manager, right?" Miley asked
"I am" April said smiling, being cut off by Arizona "turned best friend, turned sister in law"
"wow, you like to keep it in the family" Miley laughed
"it's a long story, I'll get into it some other time" Arizona said
"can I get you something to drink" April asked
"um sure, a soda would be great" Miley said as she sat back in the chair, April nodded and headed back into the kitchen, coming back a moment later with a can of coke, handing it to Miley "lunch will be ready shortly" she smiled and headed back into the kitchen.

"I have an idea" Teddy said jumping up from the table and disappearing, leaving Arizona to look at Callie in confusion "don't look at me she's your sister" Callie laughed, Arizona rolled her eyes. Teddy came back into the room with a karaoke machine.
"what the hell is that?" Arizona asked confused
"it's a karaoke machine" Teddy smiled "all you do is hook it up to the tv and" she took it into the living room and hooked it up "see Zo, it's just like the one we had when we were kids"
"well" Arizona said looking at Miley
"let's do it" Miley smiled as she picked up the mic examining it "I haven't seen one of these in a long time"
"where did you find it?" Arizona asked
"tucked in the back of the closet in my room" Teddy said all proud "it's even got these cd's" she said shuffling through them "we had this one, remember"
"good lord" Arizona rolled her eyes, remembering how they used to sing at the top of their lungs.
"I love when she gets like this, it reminds me why I fell for her" April whispered to Callie
"and Arizona gets annoyed, it's hilarious" Callie laughed
"wonder what it was like with them growing up" April said sitting back on the couch
"I don't know, but I bet there was never a dull moment" Callie smiled thinking of the stories Barbara had told her over the years.

"do this one" Teddy said putting a cd in
"oh my god" Miley said as the music started, and she started to sing, giving up because she started laughing. "I could never sing this song without laughing. I remember meeting the Dixie Chicks when I was younger, I think it was at one of the big country parties they throw every year"
"what ever happened to them, I know they came out with a new album in the early 2000's but since then they kind of fell off the grid" Arizona asked
"I'm not sure, we'll have to ask Blake" Miley smiled
"Arizona where's your laptop?" Teddy asked looking around
"um" Arizona thought for a moment "in my room why?" Teddy didn't say anything, as they saw her head towards the bedrooms and come back with Arizona's laptop "um ok" Arizona said
"they have songs on YouTube" Teddy said as she began typing "here do this one" she smiled clicking play. Miley laughed, looking at Arizona. As they both started singing to Miley's Wrecking Ball
"I had a lot of fun making that video" Miley laughed when the song was done
"I bet" Arizona smiled
"which videos are your favorite?" she asked
"um, I'd have to say Today, Callie's in it" Arizona looked at Callie smiling
"I had fun with that one too" Callie smiled.
"I've seen it, that is a good one, you both looked amazing in it" Miley smiled
"I've been working on a new one, no one has heard yet" Arizona said
"oh" April perked up, Arizona just smiled "well are we gonna hear it?"
Arizona laughed "sure" she looked around for her guitar, finding it stashed in the corner. She picked it up sitting on a bar stool she placed her guitar on it's all too familiar resting place. "shit, I need my notebook"
"where is it?" Callie smiled, she loved when Arizona sang, especially when it was just for them
"in the bedroom" Callie smiled her knowing smile. Arizona liked to write in bed. It was the one place she felt most creative.

As Arizona sang the words, Callie couldn't keep her eyes off her. Arizona opened her eyes meeting Callie's as they shared a smile. Remembering the day, or night, she knew she was in love with Callie.

"you're drunk" Arizona smiled
"mmhmm" Callie said leaning into her
"come on, let's get you home" Arizona wrapped her arms around Callie helping her to the car. Buckling her seat belt Arizona could feel Callie's breath on her cheek, she pulled back placing a kiss on her lips. Climbing into the driver's seat she paused and took a deep breath, looking at Callie who was passed out in the passenger seat she smiled, as she started the car and headed for Callie's house. Once inside she felt Callie begin to get sick, making it to the bathroom she held her hair back. Callie glanced over her shoulder seeing Arizona right next to her she whispered "sorry"
"hey don't be, this isn't my first time dealing with someone who's drunk, have you met my sister" Arizona giggled, feeling Callie laugh, she started throwing up again. When she was finally done, Callie looked up at Arizona. Her makeup running down her face, Arizona thought she'd never looked more beautiful, Arizona smiled "here let's get you cleaned up, and in bed"
"will you stay with me tonight?" Callie asked as Arizona handed her the toothbrush
"I think you should get some rest" Arizona said taking a wet washcloth wiping off the mascara that ran down her face. Callie sighed, as she looked down. "I'll stay until your asleep" Arizona kissed her forehead, as she helped her to the bedroom, getting her undressed as she slid into bed. Callie was out the moment her head hit the pillow. Arizona stood there watching her sleep, she leaned down kissing her forehead, went to find Callie's phone, which she found in the pocket of her jeans, she made sure it was plugged in, then sent a text hope you're feeling better, call me when you wake up xoxo ~A

"wow" April said, she couldn't get anything else out. She looked over at Callie who had tears rolling down her face.
"Arizona that was amazing, that's bound to hit number 1" Miley smiled
"thanks" Arizona stood placing her guitar next to the stool and walked over to Callie "excuse me" she said pulling Callie up and into the bedroom. Taking her head in her hands she wiped away the tears. "I love you" she kissed her
"I love you too" Callie smiled "I'm sorry I get so emotional"
"it's ok" Arizona pulled her in
"I made a fool out of myself in front of your friend"
"I'm sure you didn't" Arizona kissed her, Callie looked down as she started to giggle "what's so funny"
"every time you sing, I become an emotional wreck" Callie said looking up into Arizona's eyes
"there's nothing wrong with that" Arizona kissed her again "I happen to love it" she whispered
"you love that I turn into a big baby when you sing to me?"
"I do" Arizona smiled "that's one of the reasons I fell in love with you"
"let's get back out there" Callie said looking in the mirror making sure she looked presentable, if it were just April and Teddy there she wouldn't care but Miley was still there.
"you look beautiful" Arizona kissed her cheek, grabbing her hand she led her out of the room.

"has Arizona said who she's going to have as her mentor?" Miley asked, knowing April was her manager maybe she told her
"um" April looked at Teddy who shrugged her shoulders "she hasn't said anything to me"
"I just thought maybe" Miley was cut off by Arizona "I haven't told anyone who it is yet" she smiled. Miley smiled and nodded. They still had a few weeks before they had to disclose that information.
"but trust me, you'll love it" Arizona smiled as she and Callie took their seats on the couch.
"so how are you liking being a judge?" Miley asked
"well so far all we've done is the blind auditions" Arizona laughed "but I like it, it makes me feel like I'm actually doing something"
"since she hasn't been recording or anything" April chimed in
"just because you're my sister in law, doesn't mean I can't fire you" Arizona said
"then I'd have to get a job at your coffee shop" April fired back
"you'd have to get passed the interview first" Arizona stuck her tongue out at her
"wow" Miley laughed "it's like hanging out with Blake and Adam"
"we aren't' that bad, those two are mean to each other" Arizona laughed
"speaking of which, how'd they take the news of you telling them you were on the show and no one turned around?" April asked
"Blake didn't remember me" Arizona laughed "but Adam, had to think for a minute, then he felt bad"
"it was rather humorous" Miley said "it was even better when you said that to that one girl, what was her name?"
"Whitney" Arizona said "none of us turned for her" she paused "should we be sharing this?" she looked at Miley
"I'm sure it's fine, besides it doesn't leave this room" Miley said looking at everyone who nodded
"well no one turned around for her, and once our chairs turned around she reminded me of myself. I saw the unshed tears in her eyes, so I got up and gave her a hug telling her about how no one turned around for me and look where I'm at now"
"she was amazing with her, I was super proud" Miley smiled
"that's my Arizona, she's always cared about how people feel, it's what made me fall in love with her" Callie smiled
"I thought it was how cute I was?" Arizona smiled
"and now she's stuck on herself" Teddy laughed
"no sissy poo, I believe you are the one who is stuck on themselves" Arizona shot back.
"well" Teddy smiled as Arizona shook her head. They all fell into playful banter from there.

"I should be going, we have an early day tomorrow" Miley said looking at her phone
"that we do" Arizona said making a face
"but we have the weekend off, do you have any plans?" Miley asked
"well they would like to see the set, but other than that no" Arizona said
"bring them with tomorrow, we'll show them around" Miley smiled "and they can meet Blake and Adam"
"what do you guys think?" Arizona said looking at them
"I'm in" April smiled, Callie and Teddy agreed
"alright you guys are coming to work with me tomorrow" Arizona smiled
"I should go though, I'll see you all tomorrow, and we'll do this again" she said standing up as Arizona walked her to the door "thanks for inviting me over"
"anytime" Arizona smiled
"see you tomorrow" Miley waved as Arizona nodded shutting the door.

"you really gonna take us to work with you tomorrow" Teddy asked excitedly
"I guess" Arizona rolled her eyes "she's the one who invited you, just promise me you won't do anything to embarrass me, you have no idea how Blake and Adam are"
"I promise, I've already met them, remember" Teddy smiled "I didn't embarrass you that night"
"right" Arizona smiled as she sat down next to Callie on the couch, reaching for her hand.
"oh this is exciting" April exclaimed "I've always wanted to see the set" Arizona just rolled her eyes
"I'm rather excited about meeting Blake and Adam" Callie said
"oh their cool" Teddy said "when we went out for dinner they" Arizona cleared her throat and said "I'm going out for a walk on the beach anyone care to join me?" she said standing knowing Callie would be right behind her. Grabbing her sweatshirt, she checked to make sure she had her smokes and headed out the door. The wind had picked up, and it was getting chilly.
"one nice thing about living on the beach" Callie said walking up behind her. Arizona smiled as Callie reached for her hand. "I've always wanted to do this" Callie admitted
"do what?" Arizona asked confused
"walk down the beach with you holding hands" Callie smiled leaning into Arizona, who put her arm around her as they walked.
"yeah, I did too"
"Zo, I'm sorry about earlier" Callie said as they walked
"what are you sorry about?" Arizona asked stopping
"that song, it just brought back so many memories" Callie said looking in Arizona's eyes
"I know, that's why I wrote it" Arizona smiled "I wrote it for you, for us, to remember why we fell in love with each other"
"I know" Callie leaned in to kiss her "and I loved it" Arizona smiled as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her smokes, offering the pack to Callie who took it, taking out her lighter she shielded herself from the wind and lit both of them. Then sat down in the sand, pulling Callie down to sit between her legs. They sat in silence until they both finished their smokes. "there's something else I've always wanted to do" Callie said breaking the silence
"oh what's that?" Arizona asked, the next thing she knew she was on her back on the sand and Callie was hovering over the top of her. "I want to make love to you on the beach" she whispered just before their lips met, all Arizona could do was smile, as she let Callie take her.
