Chapter 15
"urgh" Arizona groaned, tossing her bag on her chair.
"long night?" Adam asked
"something like that" Arizona rolled her eyes
"you got this" he smiled, as Blake and Miley walked in arguing "this never gets old" he laughed as they turned to look at them. Arizona shook her head, picking up her bag so she could sit down.
"Arizona, you excited for the break?" Miley asked
"yes" Arizona smiled meeting Miley's eyes in the mirror
"isn't your family coming?" she asked
"oh right, I wanted to see what you guys were all doing? Was thinking a party might be in order" Arizona smiled
"for the fourth?" Miley asked
"I was going to head home for a few days" Blake said in a disappointed tone
"yeah me too" Adam agreed
"well whatever works, I know my parents would love to meet you all" Arizona smiled
"I'm free" Miley piped up
"of course, you are" Blake laughed
"what? I enjoy hanging out with Arizona's family" Miley protested
"I think she's got a crush on Arizona's wife" Blake whispered to Adam, but making sure everyone heard him
"yeah, no" Miley said shaking her head.
"Callie is amazing" Arizona smiled, Miley shook her head as she sat down. "shit" Arizona said looking down at her vibrating phone. "I have to take this" she got up and went outside. "hello"
"Arizona, this is Brad"
"hey Brad, what's up?"
"I was just calling to see how things were going, and touch base a bit, I know April has filled me in on a lot, but I wanted to talk to you"
"ok" Arizona said as he went to explain why he was calling. Stating that he wanted her to get in and record, so they could put out another album, soon "ok, I'll be in touch with April and we'll work something out for when I get home"
"sounds good Arizona, take care" he said
"thanks, you too" Arizona hung up the phone and headed back in.

"what was that?" Blake asked he was the nosey one
"it was the owner of the label" Arizona said not sure how to explain who he was "um April's boss"
"Brad Anderson?" Adam asked
"the one and only" Arizona smiled sitting in her chair
"good man, we worked together back when we first started" Adam smiled "I don't know why he moved to Wisconsin"
"I don't know either but I'm glad he did" Arizona smiled, knowing if he didn't set up his office in Madison, she wouldn't be where she's at today.
"what did he want?" Blake asked being nosey
"for me to get in and record, it's been awhile" she smiled, thinking about the song she had just finished "which reminds me, I have this new one I just wrote, I think it sounds better as a duet, was thinking about making Callie do it with me"
"Callie sings?" Miley asked intrigued
"see someone does have a crush on her" Blake said, as Miley tossed her brush at him
Arizona laughed "yes she does, although she doesn't like to, she's pretty good"
"can we hear it?" Adam asked
"sure" Arizona looked around the room, finding a guitar and grabbing it, she sat down on her chair, placed the guitar on her knee and started to strum, finding the right notes.

"wow" Miley said not knowing what to say, Arizona smiled
"I like it" Adam said with a smile
"yea I was thinking Callie would be perfect for it, but I don't know how people would react" she shrugged "then I'd have to change a few words around" she trailed off
"well everyone knows you're a lesbian" Miley said, "I'll do it" she smiled as she heard Blake whisper something to Adam "shut up you"
"too bad you don't have your brush" Blake said taunting her, pointing to the brush on the floor. Miley stood up and picked it up, threatening to hit Blake with it as she walked by him.
"well" Adam smiled, "I'll do it"
"really?" Arizona exclaimed, she was hoping he'd offer, the song really would sound good with a female and males voice
"yes" Adam smiled "I'd be honored"
"awesome" Arizona was doing her happy dance in her head, as Lexie came in to tell them it was time to go.
"we'll work out the details later" Adam winked he put his arm around Arizona, as they walked to the stage.

"thank you" Callie smiled handing the waiting customer the coffee they had been patiently waiting for.
"are you the manager?" the older woman asked
"um" Callie cleared her throat, the sale hadn't gone through yet, so she wasn't sure how to answer the question at hand. When Richard stepped in and said, "yes she is" he smiled, and nudge Callie in the side.
"oh, I just wanted to say I love this place. My daughter and I stop in every time we are at the mall shopping" the woman said with a smile. "we especially love it when you have live music"
"thank you" Callie smiled
"how on earth did you get Arizona Robbins to play? That had to cost you a fortune" she asked. Callie smiled, thinking about Arizona, but didn't say anything.
"actually" Richard began, knowing Callie was lost in her thoughts "she and her wife are in the process of buying this place"
"oh, I didn't know she was gay" the woman said, a little more intrigued finding this tidbit of information.
"she is" Richard smiled "and this beauty, right here, is her wife Callie"
"you're Arizona Robbins' wife?" the woman gave a surprised look towards Callie. Who smiled "I am"
"well, it's no wonder she plays here then, you've been working here a long time"
"about 10 years" Callie said shyly
"they met here actually" Richard smiled, remembering the night they had met.
"wow" the lady stated, Callie assumed she was still in shock at finding out Arizona was gay, and the person she was asking a ton of questions to was her wife. "what is she up to now? I haven't heard anything recently"
"um" Callie said taking a deep breath "she's actually in LA, she's a judge on the next season of The Voice"
"oh you must be so proud of her"
"I am, but I miss her" Callie said somberly
"when does she come back?" the woman asked, Callie didn't understand why this woman was so interested in Arizona's life. "um, I'm not sure" she replied "but the family and I are headed out there, tomorrow actually"
"oh that's so awesome" she exclaimed as a younger woman Callie thought to be about her own age walked up saying "mom will you leave the poor girl alone"
"I was just"
"you were just keeping her from her job" she said looking up at Callie "I'm sorry, she doesn't know when to stop talking"
"it's ok" Callie smiled, she recognized the younger woman from somewhere but couldn't put her finger on it
"you're Arizona's wife right?"
"I am" she smiled
"I'm Miranda" she smiled "I met you when you were shopping for wedding rings" she smiled looking down at Callie's hand
"oh right!" Callie smiled as it clicked "and you're also friends with Teddy"
"I used to be" Miranda shrugged "we lost touch"
"well" Callie said looking up "here's your chance to get back it touch" she smiled nodding to the door, at which Teddy and April were walking through. Miranda smiled, "if you give her a minute she'll be up here" Callie smiled as she saw April shake her head at Teddy with a scowl on her face.
"Callie, coffee please" Teddy said
"ok" Callie turned around reaching for a cup, "just go sit, I'll bring it out, does April want her usual?" Teddy shrugged her shoulders, she shook her head, as she prepared the drinks. She heard conversation start between Miranda and Teddy. Smiling, she finished the drinks and headed over to the table April was sitting at. "here you go"
"who's she talking to?" April asked in a tone Callie thought for sure to be jealous
"some old friend from school" Callie replied looking back at Teddy
"they look a little too cozy, did they date?" April asked, sometimes being older made her feel as if she didn't fit in with the younger family she married into.
"I don't know" Callie said pulling a chair out, it was slow, so she took a few minutes to talk to April.
"hmm" April said looking at Teddy and Miranda, who were now making their way towards them. "why is she bringing her over here"
"I don't know" Callie laughed "maybe she wants her to meet her wife"
"Miranda, this is my wife April" Teddy said as they got closer
"it's nice to meet the woman that finally got Teddy to settle down" Miranda said as she reached out her hand to shake April's
"yeah, who are you?" April asked
"this is Miranda Bailey, she and I used to be best friends back in the day" Teddy smiled
"oh" April said as she looked at Callie
"Teddy, it was great to see you again, but I should go before my mom talks the ear off that poor guy" she said looking back at the counter, where the woman was talking to Richard.
"oh he enjoys it, he's going to miss doing that" Callie smiled
"did Arizona give you my number?" Miranda asked
"she did I was meaning to contact you, but with everything going on recently, Arizona getting married then myself, it's been rather hectic"
"it's all good, get ahold of me, I'd love to catch up" Miranda smiled with a wave
"sounds good, see ya" Teddy said taking a seat
"hectic?" April looked at her "since when do you use words like that?"
"since I haven't seen her in forever and I wanted to make a good impression" Teddy replied
"I can see where this is going" Callie mumbled "are we doing dinner?" she asked
"that's why we're here" Teddy smiled
"alright I'll be done soon" Callie said heading back behind the counter as she watched her sister in laws argue. "hmm, maybe dinner isn't such a good idea"
"what's going on with them?" Richard asked
"I have no idea, but I hope they work it out before we leave, otherwise it's gonna be one crappy trip" Callie sighed
"yeah" Richard said looking at the couple "well you're good if you want to go, I know you're excited to see Arizona"
"you have no idea" she smiled while taking off her apron, "I'll see you in two weeks"
"enjoy the time off while you get it" Richard winked, Callie smiled a knowing smile at him, disappearing into the back room. Hoping April and Teddy would be done arguing before she got back. With some luck they weren't arguing, they were at the point of the fight where they sat silently not talking to one another. Callie took a deep breath, and smiled "you ready?"
"yes" Teddy smiled as she stood with her cup, taking the last drink and tossing it in the garbage can, on her way out. Callie looked and saw April still sitting in her spot, staring at her cup. "what's going on?" she whispered
"nothing" April sighed
"this obviously isn't nothing" Callie said looking up to see Teddy outside lighting a cigarette. She shook her head when April didn't say anything.
"come on Barbara and Daniel are waiting for us" April said, finally standing not meeting Callie's eyes as she made her way to the door.
"we'll follow you to your house, so you can leave your car at home" Teddy said once they reached the cars
"ok" Callie smiled, she wasn't sure why they had met her at work, when they could have just met her at her house, lost in her thoughts, she missed the turn to the house she had lived in all her life. Laughing to herself, she saw that Teddy had followed her. After a scenic drive around the neighborhood she finally pulled in the drive way. "forget where you live?" Teddy called out the window.
"something like that" Callie laughed, "I'll be back in a minute"
"sounds good, we'll wait here" Teddy called back. She went to her room, changed out of her work clothes, making sure she had everything she needed, she noticed the envelope on top of her dresser, grabbing it and slipping into her carry on, she picked up her bags and left the room. On her way down the stairs she felt her phone vibrate, and heard Arizona's ringtone playing. "hi" she said answering the phone
"hi beautiful" Arizona's voice rang through the phone, making Callie stop in her tracks halfway down the stairs. "how was your day"
"it was good" Callie smiled "went by quick"
"that's good, you sound out of breath, were you busy?"
"I um, I just stopped at home to change and grab my bags, Teddy and April are waiting for me"
"oh right, you're all staying at mom and dad's tonight" Arizona smiled "god I can't wait to see you"
"I can't wait to see you either" Callie said closing her eyes, picturing Arizona's face, she took a deep breath, as she heard "I love you" being whispered through the phone.
"I love you too"
"call me later?" Arizona asked
"I will" Callie said, adjusting her bag on her shoulder
"don't let mom and dad annoy you too much"
"I won't" Callie smiled, she couldn't understand why Arizona thought her parents to be annoying, she loved being around them.
"alright baby, I love you, I'll talk to you soon" Arizona said as she made kissing noises into the phone.
"ok, I love you too" she said making the same noise. She always thought that to be ridiculous, and never thought she'd be doing it. She heard Arizona hang up, smiling to herself she let her phone slide down her, catching it with her free hand, reached down and picked up her bag. Opening the door, she saw Teddy standing outside the car smoking. Callie let out a long sigh and made her way to the car.
