The year was 1986. A young boy about the age of six sat in an alleyway, having been thrown out of the local orphanage after having some strange events happen around him.
Usually, kids complaining about him doing something like knocking them back without touching them and describing it as a few feet away when he is actually a few inches. Items moving around which was far outside his reach. Then strange noises from nowhere. The caretaker thought him cursed and attracting demons.
Now here he is. Sitting outside in the cold, trying to figure out a way to survive or at least get something to drink and eat. And a rat passing by him with food in its jaws is just mocking him. As he tries to think of something in the rags he was wearing, it started to thunder overhead. He sighs as he curls up and puts his head on his leg, before loud water crashing on the ground hits around him and then on him, starting to soak his clothes and then his own skin.
The boy quickly gets up and tries to run as the heavy rainfall hits all around him and soak him down to the bone. Some of the water behind him staying in position when he splashed on them for a few seconds until it came crashing back down. The rain slowly making it harder to see and get through without slipping and sliding once in a while. Even himself crashing into a wall with a smack before quickly getting back on his feet and running through the cramped corridors of London. Looking behind himself to see if he missed a place to find cover before his foot hit a curb and he went sideways, sliding and slipping on the walkway before falling into the nearby river.
The boy gasps heavily, trying to come up for air, but can't even see where he is from the rain and murky water of the Thames river. Trying to reach for a wooden post and misses a free hanging rope, not knowing it was actually out of the water and he was still under it. The boy felt his lungs burning and he suddenly takes a big gulp of air, stopping him in place and makes him try to swim up but could not get a grasp on the heavy current. Only when the water around boils and wavers does it suddenly become apparent that something is going on until he felt himself being squeezed through a tube and then slamming onto a hard ground, covered in wet mud and starts to cough heavily and even barf up the disgusting water.
The boy looked around and sees all the city was gone and only a vast grassland and countryside remains. Buildings replaced by vast fields of grass and trees while the river he was once in, smaller and shallow. The rain now is gone and only scattered clouds remain in the air. Nothing to signify that it has rained where he is now lying down beside his wet clothes as he pulls himself out of the small river he found himself in. The boy was incredibly confused as it was sunny now and the storm was gone.
The boy stands up and looks around, seeing only a single dirt path and decides to walk in one direction before passing out.
