A/N: Hello everyone! Before we get started, a guest had a question. SergeantEpsilon says:
I have questions.
1. What is your You-Tube channel called? The name can help with finding your channel and watching the videos.
The name of my channel is Sai Blade. For those that haven't already and haven't read the last chapter, PLEASE look it up and subscribe. If we get to 300 subs, I will start Arkham Knight IMMEDIATELY after I finish this story. But if we do reach 300 and you haven't subscribed yet, don't let that stop you. I'm gonna need all the help I can get!
2. Is there a money based requirement to subscribe to a You-Tube channel? I have enough expenses to worry about without adding that to it.
There is no cost to subscribe to a YouTube channel. TOTALLY free. You're thinking of Twitch and/or Pat r eon.
But at this point, I would like to say to all guests that I HIGHLY recommend making an actual account on here, so when you ask me a question in a PM, I can answer you personally and know for a fact you got it, rather than just hoping you read these A/N's.
But without further ado! Let's get back to our favorite blonde brawler and Bat-dressed bruiser!
Batman and Yang finally emerged from the sewers. Soon enough, they were back out in the open and had connection once again to their outside world. "I'll let Joker know we're back. Hopefully he hasn't gone even crazier and started tossing grenades off a rooftop." Yang said.
"Now that I think about it, I'm surprised he's never actually done that." Batman said.
Yang smiled at this, then called up their nemesis. "Hey Joker, we're back. Did you miss us?" She asked.
"Oh, blondie, thank goodness! I was so worried about you two, I was just about to die of fright. Along with everyone else on this island when I sent my boys after them.." Joker said.
"You didn't..." Yang said in horror.
"Oh, no. Not yet. I might have if you guys had vanished on me like that without telling me, but you let me know we're still besties and you didn't abandon me. So, it should be smooth sailing for you from here on. Assuming Freeze keeps his end of the bargain." Joker told her.
Yang hung up at this point, but couldn't help but pause in concern. "Freeze wouldn't double-cross us, would he?" Yang asked.
"We aren't his friends, but we're also offering him something he wants. And his heart is in the right place ultimately. But we also don't know why he agreed to help Joker. There could be something we're missing. We should always be prepared for the possibility." Batman told her.
Suddenly, the two heard an announcement over the speaker system of the prison. "Citizens of Arkham. As I speak, there is a new inmate entering my facility. The more nostalgic among you may remember him as Quincy Sharp, Mayor of Gotham failed Warden of Old Arkham Asylum. Please provide him with the welcome he deserves." Strange declared.
"Are you kidding me?! He got the freaking mayor sent here?! How?!" Yang asked in disbelief.
"That's the least of our problems right now, considering he basically just served up the guy behind the inmates' treatment in both Arkham facilities to them on a silver platter." Oracle reminded her.
"We'll have to save him. And find out how he's involved in Strange's plot." Batman said.
"No, I have to do that. YOU have to get that blood back to Freeze." Yang told him.
"She's right, Bruce. At this rate, Sharp has more time than you do." Oracle agreed.
"Alright. But be careful." Batman said as the two separated.
Luckily, they hadn't been too far from the entrance, so it barely took Yang even a minute to get to where Sharp was now being beaten down by a gang of thugs. "With all the sleazy business deals he's made as mayor, he almost deserves this, but I still need answers. And he should pay by being locked in a real prison, not this one." She said, jumping off the rooftop she was on and landing on one of the thugs. "Didn't your mothers ever teach you not to play with sharp things?" She asked.
"It's Light Dragon! Get her!" One of the thug's said, rushing in and throwing a punch at her, but she easily deflected it with an left outside block, leaving him open for left knee to the gut and a right uppercut. Two more attacked her at the same time, but she blocked both of their attacks and smacked their heads together to knock them out. One tried some kind of wannabe martial arts and threw a kick at her, but she easily caught it and grabbed him, lifting him over head head and throwing him at a thug using a car door as a shield. This allowed Yang to casually stroll over as he struggled to get the other thug off him, just barely managing to do so before Yang grabbed the car door and hit him over the head with it, knocking him out.
"Wow, with your approval ratings, I was kind of expecting a bigger crowd. Are you okay?" Yang asked as she went back over to the mayor.
"None of this would've happened if it wasn't for you and that Bat!" The Warden accused.
"Ugh. Just like a politician, shifting the blame onto someone else. But this time, you're answering for it." Yang said, grabbing him and grappling up to a nearby building, which she held him over the edge from by his ankle.
"No! Please, no!" The cowardly mayor pleaded as he dangled from his ankle.
"Tell me everything you know about Strange and why you seem to have a hand in this!" Yang demanded.
"I'll tell you everything! Strange came to me back at the Asylum! He told me he had friends, powerful friends, the sort of people that could make things happen! All I had to do was turn a blind eye to his experiments and work on my campaign! He said his friends would ensure I won!" He told her.
"Pretty generous friends. Where might I meet them?" Yang asked.
"I have no idea! I never met them! They just funded everything! Money was never an issue! All I had to do was set up Arkham City and put Strange in charge! It made perfect sense! The scum of Gotham needed to be punished! It would be my legacy!" Sharp cried out.
"Does the scum of Gotham include innocent reporters and anyone that so much as looked at Strange the wrong way, because there's more people like them in here than there are actual criminals. Some legacy." Yang said, pulling him back onto the rooftop, but punching him in the face to knock him out, anyway. "So, did you guys catch that? Our dear mayor just told me that Strange isn't working alone. He's got someone else on his side." She told Batman and Oracle.
"We heard. You did good, Yang. For now, head back to the GCPD to make sure Batman is still going there with the blood instead of going off after Strange." Oracle said.
"You got it." Yang said.
Yang arrived on a rooftop across from the G.C.P.D where she saw Batman perched. "What's the hold up?" She asked.
"It seems like Penguin's men are back for more. All the bridges have been blown, so the ones we knocked out were trapped here with a few others. Since they're stuck, they must figure if they can take out Freeze, they'll get rid of the cure and be in Penguin's good graces." Batman explained.
"Well, I guess it's time we put those plans... ON ICE." Yang declared with a smirk as Batman pinched the bridge of his nose. "Oh, come on! That one works on three different levels! They're going after Freeze, it's freezing cold winter out here and they work for Penguin!" Yang defended her joke.
Batman then flew in for a flying kick, knocking down one thug, before knocking him out with a ground takedown. Yang had launched herself off the rooftop and dropped down on an armored thug, knocking him out before grabbing the nearest two and banging their heads together. Batman grabbed the car door shield one thug was using away from him and struck him across the face with it. Another thug picked up a propane tank and prepared to hurl it at the heroes, but Yang blasted him in the stomach with a round from Ember Celica, allowing Batman to leap forward and kick the airborne gas tank into another thug, knocking him out when the metal canister hit him in the face.
"We're clear. Now let's get to Freeze." Batman said, firing his electric gun to lift the metal shutter doors and allow them to access the building.
"right behind you." Yang confirmed as they entered the building.
They then reached the forensics area where Freeze was hard at work at his computer, before Batman put the vial of Ra's blood on the table near him.
"They two of you have impressed me tonight. I doubted you would survive." Freeze told them.
"It takes more than a bunch of crazy, magical assassins to kill us." Yang boasted. "Although, it was a pretty good attempt." She admitted.
Freeze then took the blood sample and put it in a mixing machine, which began spinning around as it sank into the table beside Freeze while he worked on his computer. After a few minutes, the mixing machine popped up with two blue vials in it, which he then carried to the safe in the wall, taking one of the vials before closing it. "The formula is complete. The bonding process appears to be successful." He informed them, before looking at Batman. "How are you feeling? You look unwell." He told the Dark Knight, speaking as if he was looking down on the detective.
"Give it to me." Batman ordered.
"PLEASE." Yang added, glaring at Batman. Freeze was now the only one with access to the cure, so it was best to not anger him.
"You should listen to the girl, Batman. She's been far more sensible than you tonight." Freeze stated. "Still, I'm afraid I cannot simply hand it over. I'm done taking orders. I'm ready to give them now." He declared, holding out the vial and putting some pressure on it to make it crack.
"No!" Yang cried out, holding out a hand. "Alright! What do you need? We'll do it. Just don't destroy the cure. It's not just Batman and Joker that need it. It's countless people in Gotham City. If you destroy that cure, you're destroying a chance to save half of the people being affected by Joker's blood You're a doctor, don't you guys take an oath to never do harm?" Yang asked.
"Your words won't be enough to save you this time, Light Dragon. Only your actions will. The clown has my wife. Bring her back to me." Freeze ordered.
"We would've done that, anyway. People are in danger, we save them! That's how it works. Your wife's in danger, we'll find her! Just hand over the cure." Yang insisted.
"She's giving you a choice, Freeze. Take it. And be thankful. It's more than what I would." Batman growled.
"And you make it seem as though you have a choice. In reality, neither of you do, your options are to find my wife or die." Freeze delivered his ultimatum.
Yang then rushed forward and delivered an uppercut to his hand, knocking the cure out of it and into the air, before spinning and delivering a rear kick to Freeze's chest, knocking him back, grabbing the cure. "Batman!" She cried out, tossing the cure to him. He managed to catch the cure and they both leapt for cover, but Freeze had managed to... well, freeze Yang's legs. Fortunately, she managed to lift her legs and slam them down on the floor, breaking the ice off, allowing her to roll onto her stomach, opening a grate on the floor and sliding into it. "Damn! I can't believe Joker actually called it!" She snapped.
"He knew he had Freeze's wife and that he'd make a bargain for her." Batman explained over her earpiece.
"Please tell me you drank some of that cure. I know you're the kind to wait to make sure everyone else is cured first, but you don't have that luxury this time." She told him.
"I took it, don't worry. Worry about Freeze. Your semblance may be able to power through for a while, but not long enough to beat him. We'll save that for a last resort." Batman told her.
Yang could agree with that. For now, they'd have to play it smart. She suddenly got the feed of Freeze's suit's telemetry, so she could tell what his current status was, which was currently tracking Batman's heat signature. She popped up out of the grate, using her goggles to find out where Batman was and Freeze's location. Soon enough, Yang snuck up behind the frozen fiend and kicked him in the back of the leg, bringing him to one knee, jumping onto and off of a wall, onto the ceiling, then firing down a round from each gauntlet, blasting her down to Freeze, who she came down on with an axe kick, before beating down on the frigid traitor, before leaping back as he activated its defense system. She then quickly took off, Freeze following her
She then led him through an operating room with a structural weakness. One which Batman had previously placed explosive gel on in preparation. Freeze walked in front of this weakened wall and Batman detonated it, the blast wracking Freeze and bringing him down once again, allowing Batman to pummel him, before he had to retreat as Freeze's defenses activated once again. "I've underestimated the two of you. I will not make those mistakes again." Freeze said, releasing some frigid air that made a thin layer of ice on the floor that would easily crack when stepped on, so he'd hear it if the two got close, then he froze any remaining structural weaknesses with thick ice.
"Man, I hate fighting geniuses! This guy thinks of everything!" Yang whispered angrily, before she noticed several ice sculptures of Nora and formulated a plan of her own. "This might be a low blow, but he deserved it for turning on us. Besides, it's nice to use this strategy myself every once in a while instead of it always being used on me." She told herself.
Suddenly, she noticed that Freeze had grabbed Batman as he attempted to leap out of a window and attack Freeze. "I have you now." He declared, throwing Batman to the floor and freezing his left arm and leg to the floor.
"Well, now I can feel less bad about this." Yang said before popping up on a desk in the middle of the room. "Hey Freeze, I think this fight has your wife pretty... broken up!" She shouted, firing at the statue of Nora near the vault, as well as another one in the corner of the room with the structural weakness, shattering both ice ladies.
"Nora, no!" Freeze cried out, before turning and firing at Yang. "You will pay for that, Light Dragon!" He declared, firing after her despite not having a decent line of sight. Batman used this distraction in order to shatter the ice on his left limbs and peppering Freeze with several rounds from his gauntlets, before pummeling him as he was brought down again. He was forced to leap back once more as Freeze's suit created a barrier once again. "My drones will deal with you." Freeze declared, releasing several drones to deal with Batman as he chased after Yang at a greater pace.
He entered another room within the room, but Yang was waiting just beside the door and slammed into him, this time focusing on stronger punches backed up with rounds from Ember Celica, putting several noticeable dents in Freeze's suit. Freeze once again deployed his defensive measures, but this time, Yang allowed it to blast her back, taking the damage to charge her semblance. Freeze then recovered and blasted her with his freeze gun, before striking her in the face with it and punching her in the chest, knocking her back.
"I told you I would make you pay, Light Dragon!" He declared as he continued to beat on her and push her back. Eventually, the two of them stepped out of the room they were in and onto a large water puddle.
"Batman, now!" Yang declared.
Batman drew a Batarang and hesitated for a moment. "I'm sorry, Yang." He said, before flinging it at a button in the room. This sent electricity through a wire on the ground, going through the puddle the two stood in, shocking both of them. Yang clenched her eyes tightly shut and grit her teeth, before snapping her eyes open, now a bright red.
Freeze dropped to his knees once more while Yang staggered from the electrocution, but then looked up and started beating on Freeze, making huge dents in his suit and, with one final haymaker, she shattered Freeze's helmet and hit him hard in the face, sending him flying back, even through a wall, causing him to crash right in front of the vault.
Batman walked up to the defeated villain and input a code to make the vault open. "Please... find my wife..." Freeze pleaded.
"We were always going to do that, Freeze. For as much trouble as you caused, Nora's innocent." Batman told him. He opened the vault to find the back of it had been exploded and the cure.
"No... It's gone." Yang said in horror.
"Joker must have sent Harley Quinn to come get it. Lucky for her it was in the vault and we were too busy fighting." Batman said.
"It's over. That's all I could manufacture." Freeze said grimly.
Yang growled at this and punched Freeze in the face once more, knocking him down again. "Dammit, Freeze! Why did you have to do that! You know what kind of people we are! You know we would've saved your wife! There was no reason to fight us! Now all those people in Gotham are doomed and Joker's about to get cured and it's all your fault!" Yang snapped.
"Yang, stop." Batman told her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry. The thought of the clown having my wife... Having her in danger... I wasn't thinking clearly. I was desperate." The villain lamented.
"It's Joker. It's what he does." Batman told him.
"Then what are you waiting for? Go get him, the cure and my wife." Freeze said.
"Joker will have the Steel Mill locked down. Getting in won't be easy." Batman explained.
"Is it ever?" Yang asked.
"Perhaps I can help." Freeze said, getting up and opening a drawer, revealing some form of grenades, as well as belt of ammunition for Ember Celica. "I've been experimenting with new forms of projectile systems. Perhaps these will give you the edge you need." Freeze declared, handing them over.
"Thank you, Victor. We will find Nora. I promise." Batman said, leaving.
Yang sighed, turning back to Freeze and holding her hand out for a handshake. "Thanks, Freeze. Sorry for that last hit." She said.
"I suppose I did deserve it." He admitted. "Just be sure to hit the clown harder." He added.
"Oh, that's a promise." Yang said, hurrying after Batman.
A/N: Well, there you go, everyone! I hope you enjoyed the new chapter! Yes, Yang may have talked Freeze down to the point where fighting seemed pointless, but honestly, the whole fight was kind of pointless anyway and really only comes across as Freeze having a hissy fit, since he's perfectly fine and helps us immediately after we kick his ass anyway. Still the best boss fight in the game, though.
But with Batman cured, there's no reason for him to take The Mad Hatter's fake cure and we can skip that whole part of the game. Seriously, I don't know why they added that in. Just another chance for another villain cameo? I can't think of anything else, but it didn't add anything to the story and it was annoying and time consuming. And the way he cries after you smash his hat makes me want to smash his skull like Batman did to his hat.
So, Batman is cured, but countless people in hospitals all over Gotham still need that cure. Can Yang and Batman get it back in time, or will it be too late?
