Chapter 6: Cookies n' Dream
It was a stormy night, and Day Dream was at his home in his bed, fast asleep, and with a bandage on this right front hoof, after what happened at the school playground.
His bedroom had a solar system mobile on his ceiling, and glow-in-the-dark star and moon stickers on his walls. Day Dream loved anything that had to do with outer space.
And while he was in his bed sleeping, he started hearing two faint voices. And those voices belonged to... Sharkcolt and Lavafilly!
"Day Dream, wake up", said Sharkcolt faintly.
"Dream, Day", said Lavafilly softly.
"Open your eyes, Day Dream", whispered Sharkcolt.
"Eyes open. And dream", Lavafilly said faintly.
"Stay dreaming", said Sharkcolt softly.
"Wake up", said Lavafilly. Suddenly, Day Dream woke up then turned to his nightstand beside his bed, and his alarm clock said 4:00 am.
Then, he saw watery hoofprints near his bed that led out his room, and into the hallway.
Day Dream followed the wet hoofprints out of his room, through the hallway, and downstairs. When he reached the bottom, the hoofprints were leading to the kitchen, so he continued to follow them.
When Day Dream went into the kitchen, he saw that the fridge was open, when he closed it, he saw an open milk carton on the table, a nearly melted glass of boiling milk, and a plate of big chocolate chip cookies. But there were two cookies on the plate that were eaten, and the bite marks looked unusual.
"Sharkcolt", said Day Dream in awe, as he picked up the first cookie with his hoof. It had a big shark bite into it.
"And Lavafilly", he said in amazement, as he picked up the second eatened cookie with his other hoof. It was burnt to the crisp and it burned Day Dream's hoof, so it was still hot when Lavafilly ate it.
When the lightning flashed from the storm outside, Sharkcolt and Lavafilly were in the dining room staring at Day Dream. But when he looked in the dining room, they disappeared.
Then suddenly, an orange and purple unicorn stallion named Pencil Note jumped into the kitchen, and scared Day Dream, he was his father.
"Day Dream?", his dad said, when he realized that it was only his son. Then, a brown and blue unicorn mare named Toasted Marshmallow came into the kitchen and turned on the light to see what was going on in the middle of the night, she was Day Dream's mother.
"My cookies!", his mother said with a frown, "my giant cookies!"
"Why are you baking sweets, again?", Pencil Note said to his wife, "you know we have more than enough".
"I baked them for his class", said Toasted Marshmallow, "so you could make friends at school, and now you've gone and eaten all of them, Day".
"No, it was Sharkcolt and Lavafilly", said Day Dream, then he showed to two eatened cookies to his parents. "Look, this one has shark bites, and this one is singed".
"There's no such thing as Sharkcolt and Lavafilly", said his mother.
"I believe him", said his father, but when his wife looked at him, he said, "Your mother's right. When you go to sleep and close your eyes, they may come back, when you open them again, Sharkfilly and Lavacolt will be... out of here".
"But...", Day Dream said, as he was about to try and explain to his parents, but his mother interrupted him.
"Shh! Mouth closed, eyes closed", said Toasted Marshmallow.
"Now?", asked Day Dream.
"Yes, now", said his mother.
So Day Dream closed his mouth and his eyes, and started walking out of the kitchen, but he couldn't see because his eyes were closed, and he hit a cupboard.
"You can wait till you're in bed to close your eyes, Day", said his mother. Day Dream opened his eyes, then he turned and smiled at his mom as he walked upstairs to his bedroom.
"Foals need their dreams", Pencil Note said to his wife.
"Foals... need to grow up", said Toasted Marshmallow, as she walked to their room to go back to bed.
When Day Dream crawled back into his bed, he started whispering to himself, "There's no such thing as Sharkcolt and Lavafilly", twice. But then he said, "Yes, there is!"
Then, with a worried look on his face, said said to himself, "Please don't want me have to go to school. They'll make fun of me, I know it. I wish I could just escape this loser world and go to Dimension Drool. Games and toys and laughs and fun".
When the lightning started flashing again from the storm outside, Day Dream made a wish.
"May the Pegasi bring terrible storms. Rain, sleet, snow, tornadoes! So I can lay here all day tomorrow, and dream of Drool".
When Day Dream was finished, he closed his eyes, and with a smile on his face, he started dreaming about Dimension Drool.
Will tomorrow be like what Day Dream wished for, or will it be normal like any other day
