Prologue
"I want my place on the throne but Zuko is in the way. I couldn't possibly have him murdered for my own selfish desires but I will over-throw him. That's where you come into the picture." Azula explained, directing her attention to the masked girl.
"Kitnichi. I need you to spy on my brother, steal any information he receives and send it directly to me. Do whatever it takes to keep him away from the Avatar. And if you get caught…" She paused, trying to devise a plan in case such a situation would occur, "then may the spirits have mercy on your soul."
Kitnichi let a small giggle escape from her rose red lips. "I've never been caught before," her voice was smooth as silk, causing an involuntary shiver to creep up Azula's spine, "Nor do I plan on it."
A perfect smile stretched across Azula's face, "Good. Now that that's settled, here's what I know: At the moment, Zuko's ship is docked at Perni Harbor. He'll be there a few days until he restocks on all of his supplies…."
Azula may as well have been talking to a rock because Kitnichi was not paying attention to a word Azula had said. She just smiled and nodded in agreement as if every piece of information was vital.
"What about my pay?" Kitnichi asked, interrupting Azula. In any other instance Azula would have been enraged upon being interrupted so rudely, but she wanted the throne and in order to get what she wanted she needed to hold her temper.
"The amount of money I send depends on what info you get me."
Azula could see that Kitnichi was not pleased with this response, but Kitnichi nodded anyway, a deal was a deal, no changing it. "Done."
There we go. My first fanfiction that I have posted. This one has been in my mind for quite awhile and I finally put pen to paper and wrote it.
