Serenity: Here I am! My third side project, in like, 3 days. I'm on a roll! Yay! This is the 2nd prize winner for my one-shot contest, for Asakura-san! I love you and your crazy cousins! Here is her one-shot of SK!

"How could you! Do you wish to bring this family to ruin! Is that it, Kena-san!"

SLAP!

Kena, a beautiful young woman of sixteen, slowly rose her hand to the growing, ugly, red welt on her face where she had been slapped. Her lovely, fire-green eyes, grew cold, and the distinction was so sudden that Yohmei was taken aback.

"I have done nothing wrong."

Yohmei's old figure rose up to his full height, which was about less than a half of Kena's.

"Kena-san, as a member of our branch family, we have treated you much better than the others, and the only reason we have favored you is because you contain the sibylline Spirit of Water, and you know that we cannot even forgive YOU for treason!" He stamped down his staff.

"How inauspicious. You automatically think that because I come from this family, I will follow your rules and regulations to a tee. I refuse to be your automaton, and, for all I truly care, you can perish along with those who would go against Hao-sama!" Kena turned, and her kanzashi fluttered as she walked out the door.

As she neared the edge of the Asakura property, Kena slowed her walk, and eventually came to a halt. Dignified, she stood in the fading light of the setting sun, her kimono reflecting the glorious sun.

Her kimono were worn only on special occasions, and this WAS a special occasion. Her kimono was simple, however. The top showed a rising, golden sun with a yellow backdrop, and the bottom complimented the top, with a rising moon and simmering stars akin with a blue backdrop. Her obi was red with a diamond pattern. Her soft, brown hair, tied back with ribbons, hung at her shoulders, making her longs, thick locks appear short.

"Oh, shifting, never-ending waters, come forth, hear my plea: ARISE!" She chanted, and her blue spirit, whose person was of water, materialized.

"Take me...to the one who holds my heart."

Water, warm, but not hot, cool, but not freezing, surrounded her, and transported her far away from her home. Not that she would have called it her home anyway. The main branch family, aside from Yoh, was pitiful in their vengeful little existences.

Bright, hopeful eyes opened to a small, woodland enclosure alighted by a strong fire.

A figure, crouched at the fire's side, staring contentedly at the star blessed sky, nodded in her direction.

"I take it all went well, Kena? I should hope so."

"Hope? Hao-sama, you do not hope. Hope in underneath you. You do and take who and what you please. You do not NEED hope." Kena smiled softly as she sat across from her master, and secret affection, Asakura Hao.

"Indeed. Your trouble will not go unrewarded, Kena. I promise I shall make it up to you soon..." Hao smiled back in return.

"Oh, you needn't do that, Hao-sama. Serving you is reward enough." Kena blushed at the thought of somehow being rewarded.

"That merits an even greater reward..."

Kena only hoped that Hao would allow her to serve him.

That was enough reward for her.

Wow, that turned out...different than I thought it would be. Oh, well, review!
