A/N: So not a huge chapter, just finishing off the first episode. I did consider having Evie use the box first, but tradition usually dictates the Red Ranger gets first dibs on a power up. Don't worry Evie will have an episode all her own to use the box. As always follow, fav and review. :)

Chapter 2

Jayden and Kevin sneak up behind Arachnitor, as he moves, they both duck down behind some rubble.
But he launches himself out of the pool, and moogers appear around him.
"This just got a lot tougher" sighs Jayden as he and Kevin step out from behind the rubble.
"I've got your back" assures Kevin.
The other four run up to them, "we all have your back" agrees Emily.
They pull out their samuraisers and activate them, but nothing happens.
"What's wrong?" asks Mia.
"This hasn't happened before" says Kevin.
"Oh fuck" mutters Evie.
"Something's blocking us from morphing" says Kevin.
Everyone's gaze turns to Arachnitor and the moogers, "well things just go more complicated" says Mike.
Kevin scans the site, "there" he yells as he spots the symbols, "we crossed an evil barrier" he adds.
They all pull their swords, "Kevin and I will handle the barriers, everyone else, be careful" says Jayden.
"Watch out for the Sanzu water, its dangerous stuff" adds Evie.
Everyone nods before launching forwards and attacking the moogers as they charged at them.
Jayden and Kevin dodging around them as they head for the symbols while Evie lets out a yell as she slices at the first mooger she encounters.
They hold their own as much as they can, but it was much harder to fight without their powers, or the added protection of their ranger suits.
Evie plants her sword on the floor and uses it to launch two quick kicks at the moogers before landing on her feet and taking out a third with the sword.
She hears one behind her and spins to counter as she kicks its sword away before slicing up its chest and knocking it backwards. But she immediately has to turn and counter another attack, and it was starting to take a toll.
Suddenly she felt her powers rush back and the next thing she knew she was clad in her ranger suit, "ah, much better" she smiles as she renews her attacks with vigour.
Once the moogers around her were dealt with she joined the others as they launched a fresh set of attacks against Arachnitor, but he was still too strong.
And the next thing Evie knows she's been thrown against some rubble.
She watches the others get tossed about as well and pushes herself up running over to where Jayden was stood over the others, "stay strong" he says.
"We can't give up now" agrees Evie.
"Guys, I did it" yells Antonio as he runs up to them the black box in his hands.
"Antonio?" asks Jayden in confusion.
"Gold is good but right now black is better" beams Antonio.
"I'm always better" mutters Evie.
"Not the black I meant chica" replies Antonio. "It's ready" he smiles as he hands the box and disk to Jayden.
"Then let's see what it can do" smiles Jayden.
"Show 'em who's boss, and lets finish what our ancestors started" smirks Evie.
Jayden activates the box, "super samurai mode" calls Jayden as he slides the box onto his sword and in the next moment he morphs again, a white sleeveless over jacket now over his ranger uniform.
"Now this look I like" nods Evie approvingly.
"You're done for now Nighloks" warns Antonio.
Jayden launches forwards and attacks the moogers, the new power flowing through him as he takes them down with ease, before releasing a final attack that knocks them all down in one.
"I can work with this" he nods before he turns and attacks Arachnitor, and he can feel the difference.
As he launches his attacks at Jayden, Jayden spins and blocks them both easily, "nice try" he says as he activates his disk and deals a final blow that causes Arachnitor to explode into nothing.
"Damn" smiles Mike as they all run up to him.
"That super samurai mode is awesome" nods Kevin.
"Stay alert, this Nighloks going mega" reminds Jayden as Arachnitor grows into his second life.
Suddenly spit fangs and giant moogers appear as well.
"Time to test out super mega mode" says Jayden as he activates it combining with the black box.
The others follow suit and each activate their own zords and megamode power before combining.
"Wow, your new uniform looks awesome" says Kevin as they all appear in the cockpit and he looks at Jayden.
"Very nice" agrees Evie.
"What do you say we see what this new baby can do" says Mike as Antonio activates his own megazord.
"Sounds good" nods Jayden as he plugs in the black box and they combine with the claw zord, and Antonio appears next to them in the cockpit.
"Fantastico" smiles Antonio.
"It combined all our powers" smiles Evie.
"And no one had to die, go mad or evil in order do it to happen" agrees Antonio.
"You the man" smiles Mike.
Using their new powers they take down the giant moogers with ease, but Arachnitor fires the two spit fangs and the whole megazord rocks as they're thrown about.
"I'm not sure we can take another hit like that" admits Mike.
"How about we get another hand" says Antonio as he pulls out his samuraiser and activate the octozord.
Jayden, Mike and Kevin combine their zords as well and they combine into a huge cannon.
"That's a big cannon" notes Emily.
"But what does it do?" ask Kevin.
"Trust me, you won't believe your eyes" promises Antonio.
"But it takes a lot of symbol power, so we can only fire it once" warns Jayden.
"Then we'd better make it count" says Evie.
The spit fangs fire again, but don't hit them.
"Wait for my signal, we can only do this as a team" orders Jayden.
A few moments later they get target lock, "fire in the hole" says Jayden as he activates the cannon, "unleash the zords" he smirks as they power of all their zords fires at Arachnitor and the spit fangs taking all three out in an epic explosion.
"Yes" cheers Mike.
"Awesome" yells Antonio.
"Nicely done" nods Evie.
"Victory is ours" smiles Jayden.

They shrink their zords back down and power down, before Emily goes about covering the pools with rocks. As she finishes, she stumbles and Mike catches her, wrapping his arms around her. "You did good" he smiles.
"I don't think I have an ounce of symbol power left, not even programming the box felt that hard" admits Emily.
"Well that was the last one" assures Mike.
"For now" nods Kevin.
"Don't be such a downer, we just won" reminds Antonio.
"Yeah, but I don't like the fact the Nighlok found a way to mutate" adds Emily.
"The threat is growing but so are we" reminds Jayden wrapping his arm around Evie.
"Thanks to Antonio" smiles Evie.
"We just have to keep getting better and stronger" nods Jayden. "We have to be, super samurai" he smiles as he looks at the box.
"Yay, another pun I'll inevitably end up hitting someone for" chuckles Evie.
Everyone laughs before putting their hands in the centre, "rangers together, samurai forever" they cheer.

They head back to the house everyone feeling relieved.
"So I take it more training is in order if we're all getting stronger?" assumes Mike.
"Well if we are, we'd better keep an eye on Evie and Jayden, seems they get a little distracted and things veer off into other areas if we leave them alone" retorts Emily.
Evie groans and buries her head against Jayden, who feels a slight blush rising on his neck.
"Wait what?" asks Antonio.
"Seems we interrupted more than a training session when we called" smirks Emily.
"No way, seriously?" asks Kevin looking at them.
"Sneaky" nods Mike.
"You told her?" asks Jayden.
"No, she was playing with my hair and she saw your handiwork" answers Evie brushing her hair aside to reveal the love bite that had risen on her skin.
"Oh" says Jayden having the grace to look guilty.
"As long as it doesn't happen when we're all training, I say we probably need to use whatever alone time we get, given the Nighloks are only getting stronger" notes Kevin.
"Amen to that" agrees Mike as he kisses the top of Emily's head.
"Either way, we have the box now and that gives us a major advantage" says Antonio.
"Yeah it does, the Nighloks won't know what hit them" smiles Mike.
Jayden looks down at the box in his hands, they had a real chance now, he could feel it.
