A/N: Sorry for the late update, massive train delays yesterday while I was trying to get home, this is just a little finish up for the last chapter, enjoy :)

Chapter 41

Deker was sat with Dayu at the top of the mountain, next to the firepit Serrator had used to make the ash.
"We have a visitor," smirks Dayu as Jayden runs into view.
He looks around, "so this is where the smoke is coming from, and where there is smoke there is fire. But not for long," he warns his eyes settling on the firepit before sliding to Dayu and Deker.
"And that is as close as you'll get to it" says Dayu walking forwards, "He's all yours," she adds looking at Deker.
"He's not worth fighting anymore," shrugs Deker dismissively.
"Fine, then I'll finish him," smirks Dayu walking forwards.
Jayden goes to morph but she advances too quickly managing to kick him backwards, the earlier injury dealt by Deker flaring up.
But before Dayu can get any closer a silver whip wraps around her wrist and she yanked to the side, hard.

Using Dayu as a tether Evie pulls hard as she flips forwards landing in front of Jayden and switches back to her sword. "Hands off bitch," she warns.
Deker just continues to watch.
"Evie no, it's too dangerous!" calls Jayden. "Protect yourself, I can fight my own battles."
Evie ignores him settling into her stance. "Have you forgotten,what is mine is yours, what is yours is mine. United as one, with strength, with trust, with love and with truth. From this day, until the end of our days? We've been putting our lives in each other's hands for years. That promise is not a weakness Jayden. We've always been stronger together," reminds Evie without taking her eyes of Dayu.
"I'd say more, but I really wanna kick this bitches ass. So, quit sitting pretty," she adds before morphing and launching her attack against Dayu with renewed aggression.

Jayden pulls himself up before morphing as well.
"You think you can do this alone? The other rangers have already been neutralized," sneers Dayu as she blocks Evie's hit, the two only inches apart.
Evie narrows her eyes and spins launching a new attack, "newsflash bitch, hurting my friends, only pisses me off," she snarls.
"There's no one but the pathetic red ranger to help you," snaps Dayu.

"He's anything but pathetic, and I wouldn't be so sure that we're alone," smirks Evie.
Dayu turns her eyes widening as she sees the other rangers.
"Sorry we're late," smiles Emily as she runs up with the others.
"Serrator left us hanging but luckily Kevin freed us," adds Mike.
"It takes more than a little water to stop us," agrees Mia.
"Now who's alone?" Evie kicks Dayu's block aside and spinning delivers a hard kick to her chest before joining her friends.

"Now either you put out that fire, or we will," warns Jayden.
Dayu walks forwards when suddenly Serrator appeared in front of her.
"You're too weak to put out anything. But you can put away those pathetic weapons. No need for a messy swordfight. Haven't you heard, the spin sword is obsolete, isn't that right Malden?" asks Serrator.
Another Nighlok appears then, "indeed" he nods, "the era of the laser blaster is here" he adds as moogers march forwards but they weren't holding swords.
"Master blasters, fire," he orders.
"Shit," swears Evie as she realises what's about to happen, "everybody down!" she yells as the blasters open fire.

The seven of them dive out of the way, Jayden activating the black box, momentarily shielding them.
"More firepower" orders Malden.
"We've got to move faster than they can shoot," warns Jayden.
"Got it," nods Evie as they each take off in different directions, "this is becoming some real Star Wars shit now," she decides as she blocks a hit with her sword all seven coming at the moogers from different angles leaving them confused as to where to shoot.
"You might be wearing hats, but you're still too slow," says Jayden as he attacks.
"Are they hats or garbage lids?" retorts Mike with a laugh.
"And it's time to take out the trash" agrees Kevin.
Antonio attacks Malden, "LZ and I thought we'd shock some sense into you," he laughs as he easily sends Malden flying.
"So much for the era of the laser blaster," he smirks only to be hit by a series of shots, falling to the floor.
"Antonio!" yells Jayden as he and the others rush over.
"Okay I spoke too soon," groans Antonio.

"Look up there," says Kevin, and as each look up their hearts sink a little.
"There are master blasters all around us," realises Jayden.
"I'm feeling some real Attack of the Clones vibes, but there sure as hell isn't an army coming to help us," says Evie her arms shifting in front of her stomach protectively, her sword still held in her hands.
"Nope they're the ones with the army," gulps Emily.

"As I said, the era of the laser blaster is here. These will sap your strength until there's nothing left" taunts Malden only to be interrupted by the roar of a bike.
"Mentor?" asks Jayden in surprise.
Ji takes out the moogers who charge at him with surprising skill, dropping a blaster onto a downed mooger.
"That's not a blaster," snorts Ji, "this is a blaster," he smirks as he pulls it off of his back.
"Got to love a little Dundee," smiles Evie as Ji throws the blaster to Jayden.
"Sweet" he says looking at it.
"It's a gift from Cody, it's the Bullzooka, fire it up," orders Ji as he throws the disk to Jayden.
"With pleasure," nods Jayden as he catches the disk.

"Stop him!" yells Malden but before he can react Jayden activates the Bullzooka and takes out the moogers around them.
"Now that is some firepower," says Jayden.
"Cody made that?" asks Mia in awe as she looks at it.
"I really, really like that kid," smiles Evie.
"I don't need them!" snarls Malden, but before he can react properly Jayden attacks and with his sword and the Bullzooka, followed by a combination of the two soon has Malden going up in smoke.
"Red ranger you just made a big mistake," warns Malden as he grows into his second life.

"Guys can you hold him off in the bullzord, Antonio take the Lightzord, I need to put out that fire," says Jayden.
"You got it," nods Evie as Jayden powers up the bullzord and Antonio does likewise for the lightzord, combing in with the megazord.

While Jayden heads towards the firepit.
"There's Serrator's fire, now I just need to put it out" says Jayden.
Jayden activates his super spin sword as well as the Bullzooka and attacks the incoming moogers. The Bullzooka helping Jayden take them out with even more ease than usual. And soon its barely a challenge.
The others doing similarly well against Malden, the combination of both zords allowing them to defeat his cannon and him.

As the smoke clears Jayden finds himself confronted by Deker.
"So this is how you fight now, with a blaster?" asks Deker, "go ahead, I dare you," he says holding his arms out.
Jayden aims the blaster activating it as well.
"You don't have the guts," taunts Deker, "call the black ranger I'm sure she has what it takes."
"I have more important concerns than you Deker" replies Jayden as he fires the blast at the firepit, disintegrating it into nothing, and the spell over the island and its people is broken.
Deker looks at Jayden then, "Are you ready to face me one on one? Have you gotten your samurai spirit back, or is the black ranger going to have to defend you again?" taunts Deker as he draws his sword, "Because that cannon is no match for a swift blade."
Jayden tenses when suddenly Serrator appears between them.

"Gentlemen a battle of egos, really? No, no. I have bigger plans for you. Let's make this a clash of the titans," smirks Serrator as he disappears but leaving behind a papyrox and two giant spit fangs.
"Oh no," mutters Jayden.
"These again?" asks Mia as she and the others run over.
"Sorry it took us so long, but we're ready now," assures Evie.
"Perfect timing guys, super samurai combination," activates Jayden as the zord forms, and all seven arrive in the cockpit just as the spit fangs and papyrox attack, knocking them back.
"Trying to roast us huh?" says Antonio.
"Hold steady" assures Jayden and using the double katanas the spit fangs are dealt with.
"Two spit fangs down, one papyrox to go," smiles Emily.
"Let's do this, shogun mode," activates Jayden, but this time combined with the Bullzooka, its even bigger than usual.
"Nice, now let's stick it to him," says Mike.
"Right, ultimate samurai combination," nods Jayden as the gigazord forms, and with the combination of all its weapons the papyrox is destroyed.
"Samurai rangers, victory is ours," smiles Jayden.

They walk back towards the dock.
"You know Deker was wrong Jayden, you were always meant to be our leader, and our team doesn't make you weaker, it makes you stronger," assures Evie squeezing his hand.
But it makes Jayden think instead of soothing him, the rest of the team didn't know. He didn't think it had even occurred to Evie yet, he hadn't been born for this.
And despite what Evie had said, Deker had beaten him, and it was only because of her he wasn't worse off. And he'd be lying if he said it wasn't playing on his mind.
Evie however was focused on the others.
"Did you see Mentor take out those master blasters?" asks Emily.
"Yeah, not bad for an old dude," nods Mike.
Everyone winces at that and Emily quickly covers Mike's mouth with her hand given Ji was in earshot of them.

"Old?" asks Ji as he stands up.
Mike looks around for help but gets none.
"I didn't mean old as in the sense of retirement home. I meant more of like, you know, retro cool" tries Mike.
Ji just shakes his head and heads for the ferry with his bike.
"Too late," says Antonio.
"Open mouth insert foot," nods Kevin.
"You were doing so well," chuckles Evie only to turn green when she smells the fish that had been left around the dock, they'd been out in the sun and were smelling worse than when they arrived. "God, I hate fish," she mutters covering her mouth and nose with her scarf as she hurries past.
"Smooth move Mike," smiles Emily as she and the others also head for the ferry.

"Oh, come on, you're not really mad?" asks Mike as he tries to follow only to slip on some fish and crash into a pile of boxes, getting caught in a net as well.
"Okay I deserved that" he admits.
The others laugh, before they all get onto the ferry, heading for home.
