Date: Early November.
Keane finally got a safe connection up and running in this bunker! It's a bit spotty, but it's the best we can get.
I was going to call Mr. Callen immediately, but Keane used the limited time we had to call Nate instead.
I was going to yell at him, but I was deparate to talk to someone, so I went along with it.
'How are you doing out there? Callen said that that ambush description was really awful.' He started.
'I'm still alive, that's what matters. How is Mr. Callen?' I asked.
'He's doing good. He's busy planning his wedding, but I can tell he's missing you.'
'Wait, what wedding?'
'Oh crap. Uh, slip of the mouth! Do you need me to get back there?' He stuttered.
'No! No, it's tough enough to get out here, you stay where you're at for now, keep an eye on the team, and we'll talk soon.' I responded. Then I gave the phone back to Keane.
It may had been a slight slip of the tongue, but it didn't matter. The one person who is the closest to a son I'll ever have, got engaged and I wasn't there to see it!
I was miserable for the rest of the day.
'Well, at least he's doing okay. And Nate did say that he's missing you, and since you said that he's protective of you. Maybe he's already looking for you?' Keane suggested over dinner.
'I kept saying that I've been here too long for a reason, and look what happened! I missed his engagement, which I'm sure everyone knows about! How do you think I feel about that?!' I shouted.
'It's terrible, I can see. But this gives you another reason to keep going: To be there at his wedding! I don't think he'll hold it without you, so we have time.'
He made some good points. I've missed too much with my team already, I'm not about to miss seeing my boy get married!
As soon as I get some sleep, it's back to work.
End recording 5.
Endnote: Callen talking about he wants Hetty to be at his wedding is really the only real highlight of this episode. And it speaks volumes of how much he wants her back. :)
