A/N2:
Yes, I do know that 'Confidence Man' was in the 1st season, but I
was watching it at someone's house recently, and I got this idea,
and, well, here is my hopefully not crap story.
The
Kiss.
He had thought about it every night since. She didn't seem to give it a second thought. So why did he?
It wasn't as if it was his first kiss, not by a long shot. But that kiss…it kept replaying over and over in his mine. He felt it every time he closed his eyes. Every breath, every drop of water, every morsel of food was the kiss. It was in his every thought.
And every time he thought he was close to forgetting it, moving on, he saw her. Kate.
There she was now, with him. Jack, the heroic doctor. Why shouldn't choose Jack over him? Jack was the better choice. The good guy. And he couldn't exactly blame Jack, either.
And besides, she was safe, happy. That was the important thing, wasn't it? For the woman he loved to be happy?
She would be just as happy with you a treacherous part of his mind whispered as Kate looked over. Sawyer felt a pain in his heart, the pain that he always got when Kate was around him. Especially like now, when Jack was with her.
He wanted so badly to kiss her again, to touch her, to protect her from the dangers of the island.
Jack touched her shoulder gently, and she shook her head, following him to Sayid's campsite. No doubt there was some sort of new development going on. He supposed he should go find out. In this place, the more you knew, the safer you were.
He glanced over at Kate's retreating back. He couldn't go. Not now. He'd find out later. He could always say his arm had been hurting, or something to that effect.
He looked down at the bandage, thinking. If someone had told him a few weeks ago that he would have gone through torture for a simple kiss, he would've had them committed. But then again, a lot of unbelievable things had happened since a few weeks ago. And the most unbelievable of all was that he had (somehow) fallen in…love.
Impossible. Crazy talk. Flat out lies. He told himself.
The truth. Said another part.
Sawyer sighed, knowing that it was, indeed, the truth. Love. It wasn't everything it was cracked up to be.
Hated it? Loved it? Want to order a restraining order so I can't write anymore? well you can't do that last one
Reveiw and tell me what you thought!
