"Get away from me, Mazoku!", a young girl yelled running through the dense forests of Makai. A hoard of demons were chasing her, for what she didn't know. Drawing her weapon,a large axe,from its holster carefully affixed to her back,she flung it at the closest target.Unfortunately,her attack failed as the demon moved to the side,dodging it completely. As she continued to run a few of the demons forced their way to the front and attacked her in unison, using swords, arrows, and spears. All hit, making deep gashes. Her cream colored skin quickly became tainted from the crimson running freely from the wounds. As she ran, blinded with pain she soon found herself backed into a corner.
"Give us the artifact and perhaps we'll let you live.", one announced, slowly advancing on her. Her hand moved slowly up to the crystal necklace hanging loosely around her neck. She grasped the jewel and turned to run but more of the demons were blocking her path.
"No...I said get away!",she yelled back at them, tears welling in her eyes. The demon that spoke signaled the others. Quickly they responded by surrounding the girl. The mazoku were about to attack when a flash of red appeared before her, blocking all of the oncoming attacks.
"Are you all right?", the blur stopped infront of her. It was a young human boy. He raised his right hand to the base of his neck and pulled a seed from his long, red, tresses. His hand glowed for a moment and the seed grew into a red rose. The demons laughed at the boy. "Do not underestimate me.",he told them, his voice calm as ever. "Petal Waltz!", he yelled. Before the attack began the girl was lifted into a tree by a dark figure. It was another boy, dressed entirely in black. He stood on the branch next to her and watched his companion. Rose petals encircled him, and with a flick of his wrist they became razor sharp bullets. The attack killed all but the leader of the demons. "Hiei,why don't you take over?",he called up the tree. Hiei smirked and leapt from the tree, landing next to the taller boy.
"Kurama, I thought you'd never ask.",he answered drawing his sword.
