Death.

A concept that cannot be reached until the passing of one's life. I never expected to die, albeit, at a young age of 15. There was still so much to do and see in my life. I figured that once you die, that's it. Though this line of thinking and belief led to me living life to the fullest.

Now all that I see is a blank void while sitting in a chair. Across from where I sat was a more lavish looking chair that you would see in an upper class home along with the side table near it. Next thing I knew was a woman walking up from the void. She had blue hair as blue as the ocean, done up with three orbs of blue and white. She had on a blue outfit with yellow accents and white knee socks as well as a miniskirt that looks a little bit too short. She seemed to look sad as she began to speak.

"Jin Jake. Welcome to the afterlife."

"Eh?"

I seemed very confused as to what this girl was talking about. If I was in the afterlife, then that means I'm. . .

"That's correct Jake-san. There's no other way than to say you died." Said Aqua as she sat in her chair.

Now I was panicking.

"That makes no sense all I was doing was saving that squirrel in that tree during that thundersto. . ."

I trail off as I suddenly remember how I died. During a thunderstorm in the woods I lived in near Tokyo, I was making sure that the crops I planted were safe when I saw a squirrel in a tree look hurt. I climbed up the tree as I wanted to help out a poor animal. After getting the squirrel back to its nest, the last thing I remembered was the sound of thunder and a flash of light.

". . . Welp, nothing to fret over now."

"Eh?"

Aqua looked confused as I accepted my death rather quickly. I mean who else hasn't died by lightning. As I come to terms with being dead, Aqua recomposes herself as she gets back on track with our conversation.

"Well, now that makes it easier than having to explain every time how people have died makes this a whole lot easier. Anyway, now that you have died, you get two choices, to go to heaven or be reborn in your world." But as she said that, a smirk came onto her face as she continued. "Or you could choose the third option."

Now I was confused. Third option. I always wondered what heaven was like or being reborn as a new person, but that other option intrigued me. As I was pondering my choices, Aqua walked over to me as she leaned down and whispered "Oh yeah, and the heaven spiel is all talk. There's no TV, no games, and you don't even have a body so you wouldn't be able to do that. All you do is bask in the sun all day."

Well, with that said, I think my choice seemed clear now, I ask, "So what if I choose this third option? What does it entail?"

Aqua then seemed to have a spotlight shine on her as she spoke dramatically,

"Do you like games? Well in the world I am about to send you to is in chaos! The Demon King's army has thrown the world, that has longed for peace, into peril! Only a brave soul can slay the Demon King." The lights turn back to normal as she continues, "So the population has been declining and no one wants to reincarnate back into that world, so why not send people who've died in other worlds there with their bodies and memories intact?"

Now that sounded like the synopsis for a basic rpg style of games as I know of a couple I used to play when I was a kid. Now with the theatrics out of the way, I seemed to asked the million dollar question.

"So, question, how do you expect me, a 14 year old guy, to up and defeat this Demon King? And what about if I can even speak the same language in this new world as well?"

Aqua smiled as she continued.

"Well, it would be a waste to send heroes there without proper gifts now would we? For every soul that chooses this path, we the gods give you one an item of your choosing to bring with you. It could be a powerful item or an amazing ability." As she says that, she pulls out a little booklet.

"Not to worry, we gods got you covered in the language department as we fill your head with knowledge of the language in your head and you'll be fluent in it like you were born with it." As she talks she opens the book and showed me a page that explained the process. Though when I kept looking at it, I saw a little warning at the bottom, but Aqua proceeded to cover that part with her hand as she also talk about how there was a chance I might get overloaded and go poof.

". . .You just said something I should be concerned about."

"No I didn't!"

After denying that accusation, she then spun around as she tossed all these papers around and stated, " Now, time to choose!"

I looked through paper after paper as I tried to decide which one to choose as Aqua sat in her chair eating chips.

"Come on, hurry up already. I got loads of souls to deal with so just hurry up and pick one."

'I wish she would just shut up and let me decide at my own pace, the bitch.'

That was the fifth time she asked that already and I'm nearing my tolerance for her. All that complaining and whining just setting off my put-a-bitch-in-her-place tendencies. There was a reason I lived in those woods alone, and that is the fact that I don't like people in general. They say they're your friend, but then they backstab you when you can least expect it. I got kicked out of many schools for fighting back against them, and I would get the blame for it every. Single. Time. Well now this bitch of a goddess is really grinding my gears.

As I reminisce about my life, I come across one paper that caught my eye.

Infinite Storage Dimension

I pick up the page that explained its abilities. It's basically like a video game character that carries so many items without the weight consequences.

"I'll pick this ability, the Infinite Storage Dimension."

Aqua finished her chips as I finally decide on what to choose as she stands up. "Alrighty then. Now just stand in the magic circle then you'll be off to another world." A magic circle appeared under my feet as I then lift off the ground. It all would have been fine if a certain goddess stopped talking, but in this story, we all know what happens.

"Still though, the ability to store things seems pretty mediocre if you ask me."

". . ."

"I mean, seriously. Out of all the list there were, you chose something that will just be as pointless as just being a pack mule. Hee hee hee."

I finally snap.

"SHUT UP YOU STUPID BITCH! YOU ARE THE MOST IRRITATING GODDESS I'VE EVER MET! IF I EVER SEE YOU AGAIN, YOU ARE SO GONNA GE-" I get cut off as the portal now opens and off I went into another world.

I find myself standing in the middle of what seems to be a town as I saw children playing in the road, and plenty of shops nearby that screamed fantasy as there was not a lick of electricity in site. I take a deep breath as I take in the air of this new world as it also calms me down as I still was mad at that so called goddess for how she treated my choice in what to bring in this new world.
