Harry and the D.A stood ready at the castle ready to take down the dark lord once and for all. Pitted against them were all the remaining death eaters that Voldemort had. He only had his inner circle left with him now all the other death eaters had fallen victim to Harry on his search for the Horcruxes. Harry, Ginny, Hermione, Ron, Dean, Seamus, Neville and Luna faced off against Snape, Bellatrix, the two Malfoys and Wormtail.
Neville quickly went straight for Bellatrix and soon had her on the ground bleeding heavily from a deep wound on her stomach from a cutting curse when he granted her final mercy with the killing curse. Unfortunately for him Snape had snuck up behind him and cast a spell that forced his soul out of his body much as a dementor would.
Hermione and Ron took on both the Malfoys and after taking out the elder Malfoy Hermione turned to find that Ron was under the Cruciatus from the younger version and Hermione flew into a rage and killed Malfoy on the spot and collapsed next to Ron and held him.
Wormtail attacked Snape to try and repair his debt he owed to Harry after Snape had taken out Seamus and Luna. Wormtail was however no match for Snape but was able to distract him long enough so dean could get Snape and Wormtail could die safe in the knowledge his debt was repaid.
Voldemort faced off against Harry and Ginny and cast first a body bind and then the killing curse at Ginny. Harry knowing that she would have nowhere near enough time to fight off the curse before the killing curse hit her did the only thing his hero complex would let him do. He gave his life for the girl he loved.
Voldemort looked perplexed by this but slowly realised with the death of Harry he had won no-one could defeat him any longer. Ginny stood up after having thrown off the body bind and said "you may think you have won Tom but his love will take you out he sacrificed himself for love now that love will be the weapon of your undoing". She then cast the killing curse but as she did it she thought about how much she loved Harry and that cleansing love was able to wash away all evil from Tom Riddle's soul unfortunately killing him in the process.
Ginny was then able to grieve for her lost love and broke down in floods of tears as the medi wizards and witches came to attend to the wounded and collect the dead.
Harry found himself hovering over the battlefield after he died after a loud voice had proclaimed that today was not his time. He watched with pride and almost unbearable love when Ginny destroyed that monster and suddenly he found himself being dragged downwards back towards the bodies that lay strewn on the battlefield and settled in one that was not his own but still inviting.
The medi wizards were astonished as Neville Longbottom sat up 3 hours after being declared medically dead but after several tests including Veritaserum they let out a cry of joy which was eclipsed by another louder one from Ginny. The wizarding world had their 'saviour' back.
