Prologue

Near Musu Village, Southern Region of Patch...

'Well, it appears that the day is finally here... You know, it's funny. Last night, when I went to bed, I half expected myself to wake up feeling more excited than I've ever been before. Like... Like I'd be on top of the world because it's finally my time to get out there and fulfill my dream, as well as uphold our family's legacy. But, then I remember... you won't be here to share the special moment with me... With us. Don't get me wrong, I'm still as determined as ever to walk down the path of our bloodline, nothing will ever change that. However... since your death, there's always been this part of me that dreaded this day purely for the fact that you wouldn't be here to send me off with everyone else. Now, of course, I don't blame you for that. I could never. You... passed... being the person you've always been; A hero. MY... hero. *sigh* I guess... what I'm really trying to say here is... I miss you. Now more than ever. As happy as I am that my journey towards becoming a true huntsman has finally come to pass, I can't help but feel that this day would be even better if you were still alive to witness it. Please don't feel guilty, I just needed to get this all off my chest before I depart. I'm saying all this now because... well, obviously I won't be around as much to visit you. Oum knows how long it'll be before I can see you again. Let's hope it's not too long, huh? I do really love these chats of ours. Heheh.. Hmm.. A-Anyway, that is all I got to say. I should get back to the Village, I still got our people to say goodbye to, after all... Wish me luck, and let's hope I make all that training we did in the past pay off..'

"I love you, Mother... Goodbye for now." Ending his farewell there, seventeen year old Izuku Midoriya gave a respectful bow towards the grave he knelt before, bending low as he brought his forehead down to his hands that were pressed flat on the fresh green grass below him. He wore a green samue jacket and pants that both seemed quite form-fitting as they nearly outlined his entire 5'11 lean physique, the outfit being just loose enough for him to move comfortably in. Meanwhile, the end of his pant legs were tucked firmly within the pair of black jika-tabi on his feet.

After paying his respects to the deceased for a quiet minute, a serene breeze having been all that's heard, Izuku took a deep breath as he rose to his feet in a calm manner. However, his expression told a different story as it was filled with nothing but sadness. And understandably so..

Inko Midoriya

Loving Wife to One

Proud Mother to Two

Beloved Hero to Many

Izuku wiped a tear upon reading what was etched on his mother's gravestone, as despite having read it time and time again, it just never ceased to break him in some fashion.

Taking another breath, he then looked out towards the beautiful vast ocean that was visible behind the gravestone, his mother's final resting place being near the edge of a tall cliff. This, of course, wasn't a spot chosen at random as it held significant meaning to not just Izuku, but to Inko herself.

When she was alive, it had always been her 'happy place' ever since she was a child. Because to her, it was just... perfect. The air was always at its freshest, the gentle caressing of the wind against her skin always brought her to a deep state of tranquility, the distant crashing of the waves against the rocks below always seemed to tickle her ears, and the view... Oum, the view was... breathtaking, no matter the time or season. At least, that's how she always passionately described it. Now, she wasn't wrong as Izuku could wholeheartedly agree after having his fair share of visits here. Which is why he, his family and his village had chosen this special cliff to be her final resting place, as it was actually common knowledge that she absolutely adored it.

"I'm really going to miss this view." He said with a fond smile, watching as the sun reflected beautifully off the ocean's surface, along with the clear autumn sky, for a long moment.

When feeling ready enough to depart, Izuku gave his mother's grave one last saddened look before sighing heavily, managing to maintain his smile. For the time being, no more words needed to be said as he patted the gravestone a few gentle times before turning to walk away, heading back to Musu Village - his home - through the forest that had been behind him to start his heroic story.

At that very moment, he promised himself that when he returns home and speaks to his mother again, he'd have plenty of fun and epic tales to tell her. Little did he know though, he'd come to have more than plenty to share.
