"Hm…" Luffy squints his eyes at Nami, trying to make his decision. Nami sees him squinting at her as if she was a chess piece on the chessboard.

"It's okay if you're busy, the life of a firefighter can be pretty hectic." Nami chuckles nervously at the handsome man in front of her, standing tall in his uniform.

Luffy looks over to Kidd who was handing the raven-haired woman a manual. "I don't know, I really need to put in-"

Nami cuts him off, "Here. Take my number. Maybe we can reschedule?" Nami hands him a business card with her contact information. "I don't really hand these out unless I want to speak directly." She half-smiles at him.

Luffy takes the card between his two fingers, Nami shifts her weight to one foot to peek over at Robin, "Ah, excuse me, Robin? Sorry to interrupt, but I'll be heading downstairs to cash out and head out. Will that be fine?"

"Yes, that's fine. I'm so sorry you had to experience this."

"It was bound to happen at some point in my life, I always ride the elevators." Nami chuckles, trying to lighten up the situation with a joke. "Your hands are magic, but I'll be going now. Take care." Nami waves her off and heads for the stairwell.

"Have a good day, Nami." Robin waves her goodbye.

Once Nami was out of sight and making her way down the stairs, Kidd walks over to Luffy after Robin heads back inside her workspace. "Is that the woman you spoke about a couple of weeks ago?"

Luffy sighs, "Yeah."

"Can't believe you tapped that...what did she want with you?" Kidd crouches down to grab the tool bag.

Luffy runs a hand through his hair, he was still contemplating whether to go after her or head back to the station. "Quick question, if you had something really important to do that could potentially earn you more money, would you stay where you are or do something that could change your life."

"Avoid my question to ask me a question of your own," Kidd scoffs, "I'd take a risk with the latter. You know I'm always up for an adventure."

Luffy smiles, "can you cover for me? I don't think I'll be riding with you back to the station."

"Wait what are you-" before Kidd could finish his sentence, Luffy happily jogs down the stairwell hoping to catch up with Nami before she leaves the building.

With him jogging down the stairs to the first floor, he spots Nami with a small bag in her hand, wearing sunglasses and heading for the entrance.

"Hey wait! Nami!" Luffy calls her out her name. Several women who were reading magazines in the waiting area looked up when her name was called.

Nami stops dead in her tracks and looks towards the stairs to see a happy-go-lucky young man jogging up to her. "Ready to go?" Luffy asks with a dorky smile on his face.

"You changed your mind?" Nami reciprocates his smile.

Luffy takes her small bag and carries it for her, "I don't think I'll regret it. Lead the way." Luffy gestures for her to lead the way out.

As they walked out, the few women that were seated there started whispering amongst each other.

Once the two were seated inside in the backseat of Nami's car, the driver pulled off driving onto the main road.

"Ah, Ms. Karlsson, you brought company." The driver says

"Oh I remember you, you took me home the last time." Luffy looks at him through the mirror while buckling his seat belt.

"Ah yes, he's , my chauffeur." Nami introduces.

"Nice to meet you again. I'm Luffy."

"Ah yes, I do remember you, you look quite different in your uniform. Ms. Karlsson, where shall I be heading?"

"Well," Nami takes a look at Luffy, "head to Fisheraly Hills, I think I can find something for Luffy to wear for our dinner tonight."

"F-fisherly hills?! That's a pretty exclusive place in a big city like this, a-are you sure it's alright?" Luffy was taken aback.

"Yes ma'am." Sunny replies to Nami.

"You've been nothing but good to me, let me repay you."

Arriving at Fisherly Hills, Nami wore her sunglasses again after Sunny opened the door for her and Luffy. The exclusive shopping district is prone for the wealthy to safely flock around, buying the most expensive items out of the most exclusive stores. Luffy stuck by Nami's side as she led him and Sunny through the district looking for clothes for Luffy to wear for tonight's.

"Wow, you know this place really well, you're like my navigator." Luffy jokes.

"I've been shopping here since I was a little girl, I know this place like the back of my hand."

"So you had that kind of life huh?"

"A luxurious one? Yes. My mother worked extremely hard and I appreciate her for that. Now it's my turn to do the same for...for myself."

"..." Luffy looks at the back of her head. He could tell she was a confident, hardworking woman, very...independent and he admired that about her.

"Here we are." Nami stops leading the two taller men and stands in front of a store named Cri Man.

The ushers for the entrance open the doors for the trio to walk inside. Luffy marvels at the name-brand store he walked into. He'd never been inside a luxurious place like this before, it was all so new to him.

"Now, how should I dress you for tonight? Anything, in particular, you want to wear tonight? Silk? Merino wool? Cashmere?" Nami turns around to ask Luffy who seemed completely lost in what she said.

"I dunno...Silk?" Luffy shrugged his shoulders and said the most familiar fabric to him.

"You'd look nice in a silk red button-up. Some black pants and classic leather shoes would do your feet good." Nami says to herself. "Hm, maybe we can get the pants from-"

Nami phones ring. Snapping her out of her trance. "Hello?" She answers, turning her back to Luffy and Sunny.

Luffy wanders off with Sunny following him, looking at the shirts on the rack. Giving Nami some privacy on the phone.

"Nojiko, are you telling me Ace is sick? The show is this week! Where am I going to book another model to replace him in the show?" Nami pinches the bridge of her nose before letting out a sigh. "I hope he gets well soon, and I mean pretty soon. I can't add more stress to my plate. I gotta go, I'm busy at the moment, I'll drop by later this week and visit you guys." Nami hangs up.

Nami turns around to see the two men that were once behind her, gone. She looked around to see if they were nearby, but unfortunately for her, they were completely out of sight. Nami sighed and took out her phone. She dialed Sunny's phone in hopes he'd answer.

"Yes, Ms. Karlsson?" He picks up.

"Hey, where are you two?" She looks around the first floor again.

"Oh, we're upstairs, looking at some more shirts in the men section."

"Stay there, I'm coming up to meet you." She says before hanging up.

Nami makes her way up the stairs of the fashion house. As she arrived at the top, she saw a friendly face coming out of the employee's room. A man her height wearing a Rastafarian hat, a silk orange button-up shirt with beige pants, a gold watch on his wrist, and black shades hooked onto his shirt. He seemed surprised to see Nami, and greets her with a smile.

"Well, look what the cat dragged in if it isn't Nami Karlsson standing on the second floor of my store." The brown-skinned man smiles.

"Pappag!" She exclaims and hugs him tightly. "I hoped I'd run into you."

"This is quite the surprise. I didn't think I'd see you here."

"I'm in search of something that has high quality so I knew where to come." Nami winks at him.

"Aw shucks, you don't need to flatter me. What can I help you with?"

"I want the shirt you have on...but in red. Think you can find it for me?" Nami clasps her hands together.

"Oh, this? These haven't hit the shelves yet."

"Oh really? That's a shame." Nami pouts. "You can't sell one to your dear old friend?" Nami gives him puppy eyes. Pappag starts to sweat nervously.

000

"It's pretty expensive here, do you shop here too?" Luffy asks Sunny.

"A-actually, I don't. Miss Karlsson gifts me with designer outfits on my birthdays, but I prefer to shop somewhere more local."

"How long have you known Nami?" Luffy looks over to the women's section.

"Since she was a young woman in high school. I heard their old chauffeur Merry died of illness.

"Oh, so you're pretty much like family to her."

"Family?...hm, I never really thought of it like that. I do think of her as a younger sister….Speaking of family, because I think of her as a younger sister, I'm sorry to step over the line but, why has she taken a liking to you?"

"Huh?" Luffy furrows his brows in offense, "what are you saying?"

"She took you home, you two spent the night with each other and now she's here shopping for you and taking you out to dinner. I've never seen her do this since her college days when she used to date Arlong."

"Oh." Luffy's face relaxed in relief, he assumed Sunny was judging him. "I guess I can be pretty likable." Luffy shrugs his shoulders.

"I guess you are, you're a decent man." Sunny smiles at him.

Luffy eyes wander and see a shorter man with a Rastafarian hat talking to a very recognizable redhead. "Look, there's Nami." Luffy walks over to Nami with Sunny behind him.

"There you are." He smiles at Nami. "Cool hat man." He compliments Pappag.

"Oh, you found me before I found you, Pappag this is Luffy. Luffy, this is Pappag, he's the owner of the store and brand Cri Man." Nami exchanges introductions between the two. "Pappag, Sunny I'm sure you two have met before."

"Nice to see you again sir Pappag." Sunny shakes his hand.

"Nice to see you doing well, Sunny."

"Dude, your store is awesome. You started all of this yourself?" Luffy asks out of curiosity.

"Yes, it all started with a vision," Pappag answers him. "Say, are you an actual firefighter or is it one of...her kinks?" Pappag jokes around.

Heat crept up to Nami's cheeks in a hurry, embarrassed by Pappag's dirty joke. "Haha, no I'm an actual firefighter."

"Wow, have you ever thought of modeling? You're tall, fit, and handsome, you meet all the criteria."

Hearing Pappag say that lit a light bulb in Nami's mind. She whips her head to look at Luffy carefully, he indeed fit the criteria, he was also unique with a scar that ran underneath his eye. Luffy felt Nami's eyes on him and grew nervous with heat rising to his cheeks.

"A-actually, I haven't. Nobody's ever said that to me before." Luffy laughs sheepishly.

"Yeah man, you could definitely try out modeling. Who knows, you might enjoy it." Pappag encourages him.

"Speaking of modeling, are you coming to my show this week? You're a highly anticipated guest and I'd love for your support."

"Of course I'll be there. Graced By Belle hasn't had a show in ages. I'm excited to see your new collection."

"Good. Now, about that shirt." Nami smiles at Pappag.

After leaving Cri Min with the exclusive red silk shirt, black dress pants for men, and leather shoes sized fourteen. The three head back to the car to head back to Nami's apartment.

On the drive to the apartments, Nami asked Sunny to stop at a nearby pharmacy to grab a couple of things for her, sending him a text once he got inside. Once they finally arrive at the apartments, Nami taps Luffy gently, awakening him after a long drive.

"Sunny, you can circle back around eight," Nami instructs.

"Yes ma'am," Sunny says, closing the car door behind her.

"Wow, and I thought Fisherly Hills was impressive. You live in one of these apartments?" Luffy's mouth forms an O in astonishment.

"The penthouse actually." Nami corrects him. "Come on then, I made reservations at the Green Bit tonight," Nami says, leading the way into the lobby of Mary Geoise.

Nami greeted the front desk staff and headed for the elevator with Luffy behind her carrying his clothing bag while Nami carried her pharmacy bag. "How many stories is this building? Do they have enough exits in case of a fire?"

"One hundred. I'm sure there are enough exits for the residents to escape quickly and safely."

Nami pushes the button with the letter P on it, so the elevator can head up to the floor of the penthouse.

Luffy tries to hide his excitement as he and Nami ride the elevator to her penthouse. Nami looks at him and August a little. "You remind me of a little boy at the fair, you don't have to hide your excitement."

"This is all so surreal to me. I've been in buildings and cars that cost more than my rent and salary combined, all day." Luffy watches as the floor goes up in numbers.

"Are you sure your boss won't...fire you for suddenly going off on your own?" Nami asks out of concern.

"You said you were free this afternoon...I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see you again."

Nami blushes at his words, "Y-yes, I don't know I'll be free again, I am quite busy these days."

Finally, they reach the floor of the penthouse, Nami walks out of the elevator first, crossing her legs, and quickly rushes to her door to put the code in her keypad.

"Do you need the restroom?" Luffy chuckles at her.

Without answering him, she unlocks her door and kicks her heels to the side, "Hey Alice, turn on the living room lights." Nami commands.

"Turning on the lights." The smart house obeys her commands.

Luffy takes his boots off and rests the shopping bags down taking in the beauty of the penthouse.

"Have a seat on the couch, I'll be back," Nami tells him and quickly dashes to the restroom.

Once she reached the restroom, she closed the door behind her, took off her bottom garments, ripped open the pregnancy test, and used the restroom.

Once Nami is done, she cleans herself off and washes her hands in the sink. Leaving the pregnancy test faced down on the sink. She had to wait three minutes for the results. Looking down at her wristwatch she timed the three minutes, every second that went by her anxiety grew even stronger.

Did she really want to be pregnant right now?

She always wanted to be married first before she started a family. What would Luffy do if she told him? What if it's a false alarm and it's just her period? These questions ran through Nami's mind, her foot fidgeting with anxiety.

These three minutes felt like the longest three minutes of her life. She could see all the anxiety in the mirror. There's a knock on the bathroom door.

"What is it?" She asked. Biting her bottom lip, looking at the time on her watch.

"Can I grab a drink from your fridge?"

"You can. No pun intended." Nami pins her lip together.

"Couldn't miss the opportunity huh?" Luffy chuckles.

"Nope. I'll be out in a second." She hears his footsteps trail away from the door and she looks back at her watch. A little excitement was buried deep inside her, she always wanted to have kids, she loved taking care of them too. If the test came back positive, she wouldn't think of any other option than to keep it.

Finally, the three minutes were up and Nami picked up the pregnancy test with a shaking hand. Her free hand quickly came to her mouth, covering it in surprise. Tears brimming her eyes, she couldn't believe it. She lets out a light chuckle in shock. What did she expect?

They had raw sex and she didn't take a morning-after pill because she thought they were in the clear. How did she end up pregnant if he didn't finish inside her? Was it the pre-

Whatever it was, it got her pregnant. Now, she had to tell Luffy because he was definitely the father. She throws away the test into the bin in the bathroom and fixes herself in the mirror, wiping away her tears.

Luffy stood over by the glass window looking out at the evening view, the sun was setting and gave a beautiful color of orange and pink that lit up half the living room. He couldn't believe he was one hundred stories above ground. He couldn't believe he was here right now. He hears the bathroom door open and whips his head to see Nami closing the door behind her, coming towards him with a crooked smile. He cocks a brow in curiosity, she's never given him this look before.

She stood there nearby the couch, the orange and pink light rays highlighting her orange hair and she looked effortlessly beautiful. Luffy blushes at the sight of her. She wasn't saying anything, so he broke the silence.

"What is it? You look like you want to tell me something." He tilts his head.

"Did I say that I made reservations at the Green Bit?"

"You did."

"Right...let me, get you everything you need for a shower." She turns around on her heels to head for the guest bathroom in one of her guest rooms.

"Wait, why are you acting weird? What's wrong? Your face is telling me something completely different from the words you're saying." Luffy puts his hands on his hips. She stopped in her tracks. She looks back at him over her shoulder.

"Would you like to spend the night?"

000

At the Green Bit, the two sat across from each other at their reserved table. Nami wore a beautiful long spaghetti-strapped white satin dress with a high slit, her hair parted to the side and slightly curled resting above her shoulders, her lips red as blood and her lashes elongated with mascara. Her white polished fingernails rested on the table as she watched Luffy look at the menu.

Luffy sat across from her. His red silk button-up wasn't completely buttoned, leaving the first two buttons undone. Tucked away neatly into his black dress pants, using a black belt with gold buckle for support. His black leather shoes complimented Nami's white heels underneath the table. They looked expensive.

He felt Nami's eyes on him again. He agreed to spend the night at her place although he was nervous. He wondered where this night would lead them to.

"Find anything you like?" She asks him.

"Everything sounds amazing."

"It's one of my favorite restaurants, everything here is delicious."

A waitress comes over and starts them off with drinks, Luffy ordering a sparkling apple cider and Nami a glass of water.

"Are we ready for appetizers?"

"Yes, can we have smoked salmon and caviar on crispy potatoes?" Nami orders.

"Alright, and will there be anything else?"

"Smoked salmon with shallot bites." Luffy orders.

"Sounds delicious, I'll be right back with your appetizers."

The waitress leaves the two alone. Luffy takes a sip of his drink, "This is how you live huh? Fancy restaurants, a beautiful penthouse, designer stores, and even a chauffeur? I feel like I'm in a completely different world right now."

"You can live this lifestyle too, Pappag wasn't kidding when he said you could be a model. I'll even help you get started."

"What do you mean?"

"Earlier I was on the phone with my sister, as you know by now, I have a fashion show this week. I'm short one male model and I can't find anyone to replace him. That was until Pappag said something about you fitting all the criteria. Ever since I've been observing the way you walk and stand."

"Is that why I always catch you sneaking glances at me?" Luffy flirts.

Nami blushes and smiles a little, "Maybe so." She flirts back. "I'm serious with this though, I know it's not enough time because the show is this weekend, I was hoping to give you a few pointers."

"Wait, if I'm gonna model this week, I might have to take the rest of the week off."

"Or...you can quit."

"I'll see if I enjoy modeling first." Luffy chuckles.

"You really can't go back to a normal life now, haven't you seen the recent articles? You're the hot topic right now."

"Articles?"

"The paparazzi got a few photos of us together today out at Fisheraly Hills. I'm really sorry, but you can't avoid the paparazzi as much as you try." Nami sighs in defeat.

Luffy brows raise in surprise. "I...I didn't see any though."

"Some are undercover." Nami twirls her hair with her finger.

"Damn, so I'm really about to do this modeling thing huh?" Luffy lets out a nervous laugh. "This is a lot to take in. My life is really about to change."

Nami's smile disappeared for a second when she heard him say that. "The both of us." She says softly to herself.

000

The waitress came back with their appetizers which they enjoyed together. After placing their order for the main dish, Nami went to the restroom.

Luffy sat at the table with his second round of sparkling apple cider. He wondered why his friends hadn't contacted him at all today, then he realized his phone was back at the fire station in his locker. He wondered if he really should quit his work as a firefighter, maybe being a model wouldn't be so bad, it's definitely more money. He could finally pay off all of his credit cards and get out of the slumps. His mind trout back to his conversation with Sunny earlier today, so he asked himself what does she see in him?

Nami lit up the room when she came back to the table. She was absolutely stunning tonight, she even caught the attention of other customers. She looked heavenly in white. Luffy felt his throat go dry. This was too good to be true so he had to ask.

He watched as she took her seat again, moving around in her seat to get comfortable.

"I just have to ask." Nami casts her attention on him. "Why me?"

"For modeling? Like Pappag-"

"No, not with modeling." Luffy interrupts her. "I know you said you wanted to treat me to dinner for what I've done for you but, inviting me to spend the night again…why?"

Nami felt her throat go dry, her eyes widened at his questions, she really didn't have an answer.

"...you're my type." Nami blushes profusely.

Luffy blushes at her sudden confession.

"Is that why we had drunk sex the last time? I mean, I don't regret it."

"Maybe this time...we won't be drunk." Nami places a hand on top of Luffy's. There was sudden lust in her eyes.

Luffy didn't know how to respond to her. She always did these little things that made him nervous but in a good way. Thankfully, their dinner came out just in time to save him.

"Enjoy your meal." The waitress says after setting their meals onto the table.

"Mm, this looks delicious, let's dig in." Luffy takes his hand from underneath Nami's to take up his utensils.

000

After the two enjoyed their meal, they went without dessert as it was getting late in the night. Nami paid for their dinner and they were bombarded with paparazzi outside of the restaurant. Sunny came out of the car to protect the two until they got inside the car safely, helping them evade the paparazzi. In half an hour they arrived back at Mary Geoise.

Before Luffy could even register what had happened early with the paparazzi he was back inside Nami's apartment making out with her in the dark on her couch. She straddled him on the couch, the spaghetti straps falling loosely off of her shoulder. The red lipstick smudged Luffy's lip.

Because they couldn't have the dessert they were having tonight. Nami didn't know why her sex drive was so high all of a sudden, maybe the way he dressed tonight really turned her on. He looked extremely sexy in red, it was definitely his color. She felt his hand under her dress resting on her thigh.

He moans into the kiss and pulls away, panting.

"W-what's wrong?" Nami asks panting. The light from the city below illuminated the living room, the two of them shone in the dim light.

As much as Luffy wanted to enjoy his night with her he needed to ask her something first.

"After today...what are we? Are we friends or will we go back to being strangers? What am I to you right now?" His dark brown orbs search her hazel brown eyes for the answer.

She pins her mouth together and whispers softly.

"You're the father of my child."
