Author's Notes:
straight off the press, I, um, was sitting in my second period class and well... No beta, and it's not my computer, so i had to post immediately otherwise I'd lose it. Also, the format of this story is a bit of a test, pardon, it's supposed to be a line of text then a line of speech, but i have thoughts as well and I'm not sure where they would go. editi'm going to treat thoughts like speech/edit

'She's mine. I'm so happy that she's mine.'

Albus Dumbledore was not paying attention to who was around him, but truthfully, it wouldn't have mattered. The only people around him were Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ronald Weasly. And they already had the idea that he and Minerva were involved.

"Albus? What exactly is the point of this?"

Dumbledore stopped walking. He had recruited Potter and Co. to assist him with an errand, and now they wanted to see why he'd needed to borrow the Maurader's Map.

"Well, Minerva, it has come to my attention that you haven't been wished a happy birthday yet. Now, we can't have that, can we?"

He offered her a box. She looked at it uneasily.

"I promise it won't bit or jump out at you."

She carefully reached out and took the box from his hand.

"Are you sure?"

He nodded. She opened the box carefully and gasped.

"Oh, Goddes, Albus, it's gorgeous!"

She carefully lifted the necklace off the package of gingernewts that was in the bottom of the tin.

"I had hoped that you would like it. Hermoine helped me to pick it out, and Harry and Ron also thought that you'd like it."

She looked around. There was no way that, haveing taken them along on his shopping trip, he could have stopped them from tagging along. She spotted them around the corner peeking at her and Dumbledore.

"Thank you, Hermoine, Harry, Ron!"

They stepped out from around the corner, sheepish.

"You're welcome Professor. We had alot of fun helping him find a gift for you, but we also got you gifts as well."

They took another step towards her and each of them offered her a small package.

"You didn't have to."

She accepted the gifts and peeked into each box. They had each gotten her small figureines of cats, but Dumbledore's gift of a necklace outshined anything they could have given her.

"Yes we did. You're our favorite Professor, even though we're biased towards you anyways."

She laughed. They could always make her laugh, like Albus could.

"Now, students, I'm afraid I have to kidnap your beloved professor because i have another surprise for her."

They nodded and fled back to their common room. Minerva eyed him, uneasy again.

"What do you have in mind?"

He smiled at her.

"Come, Minerva, I promise you'll like this."

She made a slight noise.

"I'm taking you to dinner in London, so go change into something more approiate for that?"

He smiled at her.

"Oh, well, when should we meet in the Great Hall?"

She stepped towards the staircase that led in the general direction of her quarters.

"Will two hours be enough time?"

She nodded.

"Meet you in the Great Hall at 5:30 then?"

He nodded and turned towards the corridor that led to his office and quarters.

-------------TWO HOURS PASS--------------------

He was waiting for her in the Great Hall, tapping one foot quietly.

"Albus? Am I late?"

He turned towards her voice and stopped breathing.

"No, Minerva, you're not late."

She carefully made her way down the steps.

"Do you like my dress? Or is it too much?"

He blinked, unable to speak for a moment as he watched her glide down the stairs.

"I -I -I love the dress Minerva, and no, it's not too much. But I will hex anyone who looks at you oddly."

She stopped next to him, and he offered her his arm which she took.

"Shall we go then?"

He nodded and they left.
