Chapter Six

She groaned, her head hurt really badly, there was something she couldn't quite remember. It bothered her, not nearly as much as other things, but it bothered her. She remembered being different than she was now, she felt more like who she had been at thirteen, rather than the angry young radical. She rubbed her head with a paw, whimpering slightly. That had hurt, it had hurt really badly, he was a mean man, though he could be kind.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?" Freddy yelled, running forward and hugging her tightly. "Roxie, it's me Freddy, do you remember me?" He asked and she nuzzled him, before words appeared in thin air.

Of course I would remember my twin, my wits would never be that addled. I don't know who I am now though brother, I need to change, I'm not about to allow the entire school to see me sky clad." She felt his grip release and she trotted over to her uniform, using her head to fold the heavy skirts into a pile, before grabbing all of it in her teeth. She walked then to the nearest empty room, changed back and put on her uniform. She smoothed down her skirts and smiled.

She then walked back to the Great Hall whistling a jaunty tune that she'd not bothered to whistle in so long. She remembered her mother sometimes whistling it when she was very small. It would always make her brother happy and her father sad. "Oh really now, do you know the lyrics to that song, little niece?" The man on the right with golden hair asked and the golden-haired man on the left smiled.

"No, Mummy hummed it when I was really little, I'd forgotten it I think." She said and looked at the two strangers. "Begging your pardon, but who might you be? Forgive me but are we of some relation?"

"Oh ho, I suppose portraits could never show how sexy we are, or it's possible that we never sat still long enough for them to be painted." The one on the right said and bowed.

"We are your Gran's brothers, Gideon and Fabien, though she always called us Fab and Guid. You seem pretty good at transformation, do you know shellwork too?" He asked and she smiled.

"Yes Uncle Guid, I like all sorts of magic, I'm looking forward to my seventh year." She said and smiled brightly.

"What's your favorite spell?" Fabien asked and she smiled.

"I like the rainbow spell best, it's pretty." She said and cast it, rainbows of light showed the colors of the magic surrounding her. There were so many pretty colors, she loved this spell. She didn't know why she only cast it when her family were sleeping, because the colors were so pretty.

"BLOODY HELL. "Several people yelled, others cried and some laughed, while others still hid behind their hands. She focused on Silas, who was staring around him wide eyed and grinned, his core was darker than hers, which was fine but they had similar cores. They actually seemed very similar, he was very powerful, as was his sister. Her brother was powerful too, but he was a silver, she was a purple.

"Purple is the color of power, it seems that certain students should be put in advanced placement courses this year. I don't want anyone being bored in school like I was." Severus said and smiled. "This should prove to be an interesting challenge."

She smiled then drawn to him, like a moth to a flame, he strode towards her and they kissed for the first time. She felt their power wrap around one another, their magic wanting to bond together at once. It was scary and he fought it more than she did, she knew that in the end, their magic wanted what was best for them. He would feel that she knew, for they were two halves of the same whole. Two sides to the same coin, she was his and he was hers, everyone recognized that, after all. Who was she to fight fate, to laugh in the face of destiny and to turn her back on her soul mate.

Everyone was quiet in the hall and she smiled, in the old ways they were already wed, of course there was always the parties and weddings. However their magic had bound together, they were one in a way that no one else could ever be with them. "NO! NO! YOU CAN'T TAKE HIM FROM ME!" Lucille cried out and Roxie instantly raised her shields up, protecting herself and Silas. She felt the spell a moment later and saw it bounce off, it was a death spell. She would have died and then she saw the spell strike Lucille Knott and the life leave her eyes.

The howl she unleashed shook the foundations of the school, as Silas roared out his fury, he crumpled in on himself. They both knew what had happened in that moment, what could never be undone. Lucille Knott was dead, cut down in the prime of her life, by her own spell. She thought of Lucille, her rival and her friend, thought of everything that had happened and reached for the time turner, if she went back...

"No, unfortunately Lucille Knott's death cannot be stopped, it cannot be avoided, it is a fixed point in the timeline. Nor can she be brought back ever, she is gone forevermore." Severus said. "Never have I seen a child so stupid as that, to cast a killing curse on...On whatever you might be, as the darkness stains both of you."

"HOW COULD YOU, HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN?" She screamed and the torches burned with her anger, she grabbed Silas by the hand and strode from the hall, he let her take him. Let her take him where she wanted to go, there wasn't any fight in him, he was completely and utterly lost. As was she, they needed to hide, she had a secret box, just for her and they would hide there. They would hide away from the cruelty of the world for a time, just be together, her and Silas.

She found the box and they went inside together, into the apartment she had set up for herself. Of course she'd left it a mess, but she didn't mind him seeing her creative side, her wild inventions and spells. There were also a large library of books and a stock of potions that she had brewed. One in particular she needed at the moment, it would not last long, but it allowed the person who drank it to forget all sadness for a time. It only lasted a few hours but they both needed it now. She handed him one of the precious bottles, she had the recipe in one of the books, but she couldn't remember which one.

She downed it with him and she felt the potion take effect. The next thing she knew they were kissing, caressing one another, fondling each other. They wound up in the bedroom and he took off all his clothes as did she. She touched his skin and he touched hers, crying out as they felt one another's pleasure. He came repeatedly, clinging to her, crying out her name as he came inside her again and again.

It was so wonderful, everything felt right in these few hours, everything felt wonderful, then he fell asleep. She would have to stay awake, to ensure that he would be alright, but he could rest for a time. She caressed his face, before getting out the draught of living death and pressing the vial to his lips. He swallowed in his sleep, his magic knowing that she would never harm him and his snoring deepened, as the potion took effect.

She brewed a potion herself and smiled, in nine month's time she would have his child. His son or daughter would be a strong and wild little thing. She then buried herself in her work, her house elf knew how to find her and was there when she brought her two sons into the world.

She smiled as she held her babies, she had found her notes on what she wanted to work on next and she had designed a couple of interesting spells. "Hello Lupin and Leopold Knott, let's not tell your Daddy who was born first, silly Daddy will be so happy to see you both. Yes he will, my fine little trouble makers." She said, the pain was not so fresh as it once had been, however for Silas, it would never be ending.

Lupin cried and she fed him and his brother, she didn't want to share her precious little sons for a little while at least. Time had a way of passing, years passed and she kept meaning to wake Silas, but Lupin and Leopold were such a handful that she kept putting it off. Of course, she knew that Silas might be upset when he woke to find what he had missed out on, but it wasn't until they were five that she thought of having another child. Her boys were kind and smart, as well as clever, they surprised her even sometimes with their pranks. Leo was the more outgoing of the two, while Lou was more thoughtful, but they loved her and each other, as well as their Daddy.

"Can we sleep with Daddy tonight?" Leopold asked and she nodded.

"Of course sweet, we can sleep with your Daddy tonight, do you want to give Daddy cuddles?" She asked and Leo nodded.

"I wanna have Daddy read me a story." Lou said and she smiled ruffling his hair.

"I'm sure he knows a lot of good stories." She said and yawned, she was very tired. She got the boys ready for bed and closed her eyes falling into a deep sleep.
