Author's Note: Hope everyone's doing well. Sorry for the delay in posting. It was combination of writer's block and a busy few weeks. Heads up I kind of feel like this chapter didn't resolve the arc of Cyrus blackmailing Kellie in quite the epic way I'd hope. But I kind of still need him running around causing trouble. To make up for it and delays in posting, there will be another chapter posted this weekend. The next set of chapter were already partially written when I started posting. Happy Friday Eve! Or maybe it's already Friday for some of you.

PCPD

"I want to call my lawyer" Cyrus said as Mac escorted him into an interrogation room. Brando followed.

"No one's stopping you from making that call," Mac said, waiting.

"Some privacy please," Cyrus said.

"Your lackey here will need to wait outside," Mac said.

"I need to speak with him about taking care of a few things since my day was so unexpectedly interrupted," Cyrus replied.

"I'm sure it can wait," Mac said, opening the door and motioning for Brando to leave.

"And detective," Cyrus said, "I'll only talk to the commissioner."

Mac turned towards the door and rolled his eyes. Cyrus glared at Mac as he and Brando left.

Outside the interrogation room, Mac escorted Brando to a desk.

"So Brando," Mac said, "Are you aware of your boss, Cyrus Renault, withholding information regarding the death of Garrett Esoterra?"

Brando shook his head, "No. Before you ask, I was not around for any conversations of that nature."

"That's all I wanted to know," Mac said, "Thank you."

Meanwhile, Kellie and Diane were sitting in Robert Scorpio's office.

"You know I'd started to think that just maybe, just maybe," Robert said, "the days of Kellie Corinthos turning the PCPD into circus might be a thing of the past. This is got to be some kind of record…"

"Well…" Kellie started to say before Diane interrupted her.

"Kellie, let me do the talking," Diane said, "Your personal musings about the situation are beside the point, Mr. Scorpio.:

"Quite right," Robert said, "I'll cut to the chase here. What exactly do you expect to happen? I can't imagine you'd expect we'll be able to arrest Cyrus Renault based on the recording. Yes, Sam and Kristina and your guard will give statements. But we both know Mr. Renault's lawyer will cast enough doubt that conviction is unlikely."

"Even if that is the case," Diane said, "We want it on record that Mr. Renault is harassing and threatened Mrs. Morgan, an upstanding member of the community, a mother,…"

"I'm well aware of Kellie's community service record," Robert said.

"My point, Mr. Scorpio, is that Mr. Renault has harassed my client," Diane said, "Threatened that she could go to jail for a crime the feds investigated and absolved her of any involvement in. I'd be concerned what that would mean if a witness or so called new evidence came forward at this time all because Mrs. Morgan declined the partnership Mr. Renault proposed.

"I see your point," Robert said, "It would look might suspicious. We can and will investigate the matter and see if any charges will be filed. I just want to make sure you understand I can't guarantee anything."

"All we want is for the PCPD and you to do your jobs to the best of your ability," Diane said, "And to have Mr. Renault's harassment of my client on record in the event he repeats it. I expect that if it becomes necessary to question my clients husband or her father, the PCPD will have established cause for doing so."

"Of course," Robert said, "Seeing as how you've given your statements, I don't see any reason for you to stay around here. If we have further questions, we'll be in touch."

"Thank you, Mr. Scorpio," Diane said, "Kellie, I think we should let the District Attorney do his job."

"Works for me," Kellie said, "I need to touch base with my uncle about the end of the foundation board meeting as it is."

Diane and Kellie left as Mac entered Robert's office.

"Why aren't you questioning Cyrus Renault?" Robert asked.

"We're waiting for his lawyer," Mac said, "And he'll only talk to Commissioner Ashford."

"That's interesting," Robert said.

Meanwhile, Cyrus' attorney arrived and Jordan and Chase were in the interrogation room with Cyrus.

"That's not even a complete conversation," Cyrus's attorney said after hearing the recording.

"It was enough for us to bring you in for questioning," Jordan replied.

"Well, rumor has it the Corinthos family has it out for my client," the attorney said, "How do you know they didn't set him up…"

"Your client interrupted a class Mrs. Morgan was teaching at her studio," Chase said, "Mr. Renault was told to leave repeatedly. The PCPD received phone calls reporting a disturbance from several businesses in the area. There are witnesses to some of the conversation."

"Yes, Mrs. Morgan's body guard, sister, and cousin," the attorney said, "they can hardly be considered objective."

"It was very clear that you implied you could be withholding information with regards to the death of Garrett Esoterra," Jordan asked, "Here's your chance to share it."

"What do you know that the cops don't about his death in prison?" Chase asked.

"Well, I need to see about that," Cyrus said, "And make a few calls. I was going to bring the evidence to you but still had to confirm things"

"Where's the evidence?" Chase asked, "We'll go get it."

"If you don't have the evidence," Jordan asked, "Who's your lead?"

Cyrus was silent.

"My client may have been hasty in broadcasting his suspicions," Cyrus's attorney said.

"Can you give us anything?" Chase asked.

"Well…no," Cyrus said.

"Then we're back to the potential charges of blackmail then," Jordan said.

"We all know they won't hold up in court," the attorney said, "My client has nothing further to say. I'd like to speak with the District Attorney about this matter."

"Chase," Jordan said, "Go see if D.A. Scorpio is around."

Chase left.

"Commissioner Ashford," Cyrus said, "I hope I don't have to remind you how much I hate being unnecessarily harassed by the cops."

"I guess you should watch what you say," Jordan said, "You realize that if it's reported you attempted to allegedly blackmail Mrs. Morgan again or anyone about Garrett's death that it won't look so good for you when it comes to being charged."

"It was a slip of the tongue," Cyrus said, "I was frustrated that Mrs. Morgan refuses to see how valuable my assistance and resources could be."

"This might be one time where you need to learn to lose gracefully," Jordan said, as Robert entered the room.

"I'd like a word with Mrs. Morgan," Cyrus said, "Apologize for how my behavior may have been misconstrued."

"She's already left," Robert replied, "Currently, we're not pursuing charge at this time. But I'd recommended reconsidering your future choices more wisely, including approaching her. Any witness or new evidence that suddenly appears will be thoroughly questioned along with you."

"Understood, Mr. Scorpio," Cyrus replied.
