Author's Note: So I lied. This was chapter was not previously written. After looking at the transition from Kellie neutralizing Cyrus and the next arc of Sonny and Julian going off the bridge, I realized there needed to be a little more wrap up now that Cyrus can't blackmail Kellie. The writing juices were flowing, so here you go. I'm posting chapter 12 as promised. So two bonus chapters this weekend.
One reviewer had asked about Ned's claim to being Kellie's stepfather a couple chapters ago. So Kellie's biological mom died of a drug overdose when she was a kid. Olivia took Kellie under her wing when she and Dante came to Port Charles and the two now have a mother-daughter relationship. Olivia always thinks about how Kellie could have been running around the old neighbor hood had Kellie's mom not been sent away by her parents. Olivia is married to Ned.
In response to another reviewer's question about who Kellie is. Yes, Kellie is an original character. She is the daughter of Sonny Corinthos.
In my profile, I started a cliff notes version of her backstory. It's relatively new. So if there's a detail you have a question about, let me know. I'll try to fill it in either in a story, an author's note, or add to the profile.
Happy Reading!
"Do you want to tell me what Renault was trying to pull?" Lorenzo asked Kellie when she called after leaving the PCPD.
"He threatened to make law enforcement aware of new evidence in Garrett's death," Kellie said, "Implicating Jason, Sonny, and I in arranging a hit unless I backed his proposal."
"Do I need to be concerned about you?" Lorenzo asked.
"Nope," Kellie said, "I called his bluff. The PCPD was very interested in that recording of his conspiracy theories. He couldn't deliver. Suffice to say that his behavior while not prosecutable is now on record and if he continues to harass me it won't look good for him. If new evidence suddenly appears, law enforcement will have to tread very carefully before jumping on it to arrest anybody."
"You could have given me some warning," Lorenzo said.
"I didn't realize he planned to show up at the board meeting any more than you did," Kellie said, "ooh did I tell you he got hit by a stray knife my studio the other day when we got that one tape."
"Sam and Kristina reenacted that part for Alexis," Lorenzo said.
"Shoot, it's Dad," Kellie said, "He wants me to come to the house. Probably to take about Cyrus."
"I'm meeting Alexis soon anyway," Lorenzo said, "I'm glad that Cyrus doesn't have any holds over you."
"Only if he makes one up," Kellie said.
"Just be careful," Lorenzo said.
"Thanks for having my back," Kellie said.
"Always," Lorenzo said, hanging up.

"I heard you were at the police station," Sonny said, "What happened? Did Cyrus try to.."
"He did and he failed," Kellie said, "It helps that Johnny recorded his second attempt to black mail me. I took it to Diane and she took it to the PCPD. Mac Scorpio showed up at the Crossing Into Board meeting to take him to the station for questioning. I have to admit that I couldn't have planned that any better if I tried."
"What was he doing at your board meeting," Sonny asked, "I hope board wasn't taking his proposal seriously."
"He thought he was going to circumvent every one by going directly to the board. The board turned him down flat," Kellie said, "It was awesome."
"Any chance he'll go to prison for extortion?" Sonny asked.
"Unfortunately, no," Kellie said, "His attorney can make too many argument to create reasonable doubt. But he can no longer threaten any one with Garrett's death. He couldn't give the cops anything without having to make phone calls or check into some things himself."
"At least we don't have to worry about Cyrus on that front," Sonny said.
"Any news on Julian Jerome?" Kellie asked.
"Jason's checking out some leads," Sonny said, "That fall into the category of you don't need to know."
"That's okay I have other things I'd rather talk about for now," Kellie said, "The history of drugs in Port Charles."
"What do you want to know about that for?" Sonny asked.
"Cyrus isn't the first to try to horn in on your territory to run drugs," Kellie said, "I want to know more about who the players are, what happened. Rumor has it a few people have tried to approach you more so in recent years. I'm starting to wonder if some of them might have connections to each other. I mean Cyrus does have associates that we don't know anything about."
Sonny hesitated before talking, "Alright…cause I know you'll just go dig elsewhere if I don't just tell you."
"Thank you," Kellie said.
"Cassandra Pierce was the most recent," Sonny said, "Kept approaching me and pushing me to partner with her and her associates. But she had some obsession with Valentine I think."
"She died in some kind of explosion after kidnapping Charlotte didn't see," Kellie said.
"Yeah," Sonny replied.
"Did any of her associates show up here?" Kellie said.
"Not that I'm aware of," Sonny replied, "Then there was Olivia Jerome. Not sure if it was drugs she wanted to bring through."
"I remember her all too well," Kellie said, "Kind of hard to forget the mobster who stations snipers outside my home in California until I agree to kill you."
"The Balkan, the Zaccharas' were there for awhile," Sonny said, "It was quiet after that for a bit. But you know that."
"So Cassandra Pierce and now Cyrus," Kellie said, "It's at least worth looking into whether they were connected or not. Taggert might have been a good one to ask, of course he's dead."
"I'll do some checking," Sonny said, "I'm sure you'll look yourself."
"Not going to tell me not to look?" Kellie asked.
"I'd like to think I've learned by now on somethings it does no good," Sonny replied.
"I'm glad some things have finally sunk in, Dad," Kellie said.
"I still expect you to hold to our deal that if you need help and the police can't help," Sonny said, "You call me or Jason."
"I will," Kellie said, "If I don't handle it first. If its that kind of trouble, I might have to."
"Here's hoping it's not," Sonny said.
"Alright, well I have to go pick the kiddos up from school and Kelsey from Sage's," Kelsey said.
"Thank you for filling your old man in," Sonny said, giving Kellie a hug, "And nice work with Cyrus by the way."
"Wait, what time is it?" Kellie said, "I'm documenting this for the historical record on this day, you approved of one of my crazy plans."
"Don't get used to it," Sonny replied.
"I know better than that," Kellie said.
"I know I don't say it often enough," Sonny said, "But I'm proud of you. For everything you've overcome, putting together your foundation and all the work you do to help not just foster kids, but abuse survivors, and others. You're strong and you're fierce when it comes to protecting your family, your friends. You don't back down from a fight even when I think you should. You stand your ground. As much as we usually fight, I wouldn't change it for the world. I know you'll be okay, no matter what happens. I mean it, I really proud you're my daughter. I wish I could have been there for you growing up. But I'm so glad we did find each other."
"Now that," Kellie said, "I wished I'd recorded."
