Author's Note: So on the show, Sonny and Jason as well as Cyrus's men were able to track Julian to a bus station where Cyrus's men initiated a shootout. Sonny and Julian escaped while Jason had to answer questions. Diane was able to talk the police into letting Jason go. Jason tracked Sonny and Julian to a bridge. The bridge collapsed and Sonny and Julian both went into the river. Julian's body was found. This takes place when Jason goes to back to Port Charles to tell Kellie and Carly the news.

December - Christmas Eve

Kellie and kids were at Sonny and Carly's with Michael and Willow, Jax and Josslyn.

Kellie and Carly got a text from Jason asking them to meet him outside.

"What happened?" Carly asked, "Where's Sonny?"

"I don't know," Jason said, "He was on a bridge up in New Jersey when it collapsed. I dove into the river after him. I couldn't find him."

"What was he doing on a bridge?" Carly asked.

"Trying to convince Julian to turn on Cyrus," Jason said, "We caught up to him at a bus station. One of Cyrus's men started firing at us. Sonny chased after Julian and I stayed behind.I had to talk to the cops. Thankfully, Diane was nearby and able to talk to them. I went after Sonny. When I got to the bridge Julian and Sonny were standing there. It collapsed."

"What happened to Julian?" Kellie asked.

"The search crews found his body," Jason said, "They're still combing the rivers and I have our crews looking as well."

"We have to go look for him," Carly said.

"I'll grab our coats," Kellie said, "And let Jax know we need to pick up a few things that Sonny didn't have time to pick up for dinner."

After they'd searched the river with no luck, Kellie made sure they stopped to pick up some frozen lasagnas on the way.

"What's with the lasagna?" Michael asked when Kellie and Carly walked in.

"Your dad's not going to make it home for Christmas," Carly replied, "He got held up on business."

"I'll get this started," Kellie said.

"I'll help make a salad or something," Willow said, following her to the kitchen.

"And Michael," Kellie said, turning back around, "Don't tell Dad I dared bring frozen lasagna into his kitchen."

"Not a fight I want to see between the two of you," Josslyn said.

Michael joined Kellie and Willow in the kitchen.

"Where did you really go?" Michael eventually asked Kellie.

"To the store," Kellie said as Brando walked in.

"What are the cops doing here?" He asked.

Kellie immediately left the kitchen and entered the living room.

"We wanted to confirm Sonny was indeed missing," Chase said, "Which it appears he is."

"What's going on?" Michael asked.

"We believe your father was on a bridge that collapsed," Chase said, "He and Julian Jerome were seen fleeing a shooting at bus station. Julian's body was found at the site of a bridge collapse. Considering Sonny was last seen with Julian, we assume he went into the river too."

"Are you saying my father's…?" Lucas said.

"Yes," Chase said, "We'll need you to provide an identification at the morgue."

"Right," Lucas said.

"What's going on here?" Jason asked, entering the room.

"Why don't you tell us?" Chase responded, "What happened at the bus station where the cops detained for your involvement in a shooting?"

"I don't have anything to say without my attorney," Jason said.

Kellie & Jason's House

Kellie took the kids back to their house. After Kellie put the presents under the tree, Jason came home and found her at the punching bag.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't," Jason said.

"You're trying to find my dad," Kellie said, "I know how it goes with things like this. And you're in charge with Dad missing. I always expected that might happen."

"I wish I could tell you everything's going to be okay," Jason said, pulling Kellie in his arms.

"But you can't," Kellie said, "For all the fighting Dad and I do, I don't want him to be gone like this."

"We'll find him," Jason said, "I'll do everything I can."

"Part of me still hopes our relationship won't always be so complicated," Kellie said, "I guess. If he's gone… You know he actually had good things to say about I got Cyrus off our backs. At least I'll have that conversation with him and d

"You can't think like that," Jason said.

"I know," Kellie said, "I'm tired of feeling like there's nothing I can do."

"You're doing what you need to," Jason said, "Taking care of our family, helping Carly. Giving self-defenses classes, consulting with law enforcement, and keeping an eye on the foundation and the casino."

"And I'm going to have your back, Jason," Kellie said, "Whatever happens."

"Kellie, I don't want you anywhere near the business," Jason said.

"Except I am, Jason," Kellie said, "You're the last one I'd expect to forget that."

"But you didn't sign on for this," Jason said, "For me to step up if Sonny couldn't be in charge."

"But I did," Kellie said, "We both knew that when I married you. We may not have talked about it, but that was always implied."

The Next Day

Kellie let Dante in the house.

"What do you know about Dad?" Dante asked.

"Just that he went off a bridge along with Julian Jerome," Kellie said, "And he hasn't been found."

"What was he doing in New Jersey with Julian Jerome?" Dante asked.

"Your guess is as good as mine," Kellie replied.

"You mean to tell me that Jason's been able to keep you completely unaware," Dante said.

"He tells me what I need to know," Kellie said.

"Just what you need to know or does that include stuff he wouldn't normally tell you, but pull out of him," Dante asked.

"Dante," Kellie replied, "I don't think we should be having this conversation."

"Jason and Carly already gave me the run around," Dante said.

"You want answers they can't give us," Kellie said, "it's being handled."

"What does that mean exactly?" Dante asked.

"They're still looking for Dad," Kellie said.

"The deal with Julian Jerome?" Dante asked.

Kellie looked at Dante, "You should be focusing on Rocco."

"And Lulu almost died because of whatever is going on between Dad, Jason, Jerome, this Cyrus guy," Dante replied, "Rocco's mother… And everyone just expects me to what…stand on the sidelines. This war keeps escalating."

"It's the worst the I've seen it in a long time, Dante," Kellie said, "I'm sending the kids to the island as soon as I finish making sure Renault isn't trying to weasel his way in down there."

"You think that's possible?" Dante asked.

"I don't know," Kellie said, "He's taken over the hospital and he tried to get his foot in at the foundation and failed. Board turned him down flat."

"How'd he take it?" Dante asked.

"He tried to convince me to change their minds," Kellie said, "He found himself at the police station for that one."

"I heard rumblings you caused another circus at the PCPD," Dante said.

"He's effectively neutralized on that front," Kellie said, "I'm worried he may have planted his own people in there already."

"How would he do that?" Dante asked.

"If his intent is to distribute drugs," Kellie said, said, "Set up some volunteers or staff to meet with the people we help and rescue."

"You're worried he would use the foundation as a distributor," Dante said.

"If that happens, I don't know if the foundation can survive it," Kellie said.

"You mentioned awhile back that there might be work I could do the with the foundation using my skill set," Dante said, "Seems like making sure Cyrus stays away from your foundation is something I could help with."

"And you need a job," Kellie said, "I think we could arrange that."

"It keeps you free to run your self defense classes," Dante said, "And maintain the kind distance you have from the foundation given…never mind."

"You can say it, Dante," Kellie said, "That if Dad is..ummm….that with Jason in charge, I become the boss's wife."

"Hopefully Dad comes back soon," Dante said, "I worry about you being this close to everything."

"I can handle it," Kellie said.

"As a girl stranded on the side of the road once told me be damned sure you can live with the consequences before getting involved with the mob," Dante said.

"I always do," Kellie replied.

Several days later

Kellie had just finished teaching a self-defense class when Michael called.

"I just wanted to let you that the search for Dad is now search and recovery," Michael said.

"Okay," Kellie said, "That's what I expected…Thanks for…"

"Don't go thanking me for that," Michael said.

"Does your mom know?" Kellie asked.

"I'm on my way over to the house to tell her," Michael said, "Can you let Jason know if he does't know already."

"Of course," Kellie said, "Kristina's still here. I'll let her know."

"Let me know what," Kristina asked, overhearing.

"They're looking for Dad, but it's search and recovery now," Kellie said.

"Recovery means what exactly," Kristina said.

"They're looking for… a body," Kellie said, "They don't expect to find him alive."

It's Dad, he can't," Kristina said, "Just no."

Kellie pulled Kristina into a hug as Kristina let her tears flow and Kellie tried to hold hers back.

"He just can't be," Kristina said.

"I know," Kellie said, "Maybe…"

"I'll make sure everyone is taken care of," Sasha said.

"Thank you," Kellie mouthed.

By the time, Sasha has seen everyone out the door, Kristina had composed herself.

"If Dad's gone, what does that mean?" Kristina asked, "Are we going to be okay? What about this Cyrus?"

"We're going to be fine," Kellie said, "Sad for awhile. Don't worry about Cyrus other than doing what we tell you and keeping your guards close. Jason and..…We'll will handle the rest."
