Author's Note: So this chapter is about answering some unresolved questions, moving odds and ends of the story forward, and setting up the next few chapters. So in this universe, I have done away with the Frankendrew fiasco. So Franco never got Drew's memories. However, in this story, Drew did start getting some of his memories back before his plane went down and sent Franco a video with more information on Peter's involvement in the Drew/Jason kidnapping. Peter found out, killed Franco, and is now on the run for that. (No framing of Jason for his death or Jason going to prison). Though he did try to kidnap Maxie before she could give birth. Details on that will show up in this chapter. Sonny is in Nixon Falls with no memory of who he is like on the show. In the parts of the story where he shows up, I am referring to him as Mike. As always if you have questions about something let me know. Hope all is well and Happy Reading!
Kellie's Self Defense Studio
Kellie was wrapping up a class when Mac walked in. Johnny walked over and they had a few words while she wrapped the class up.
"Could we talk in your office?" Mac asked when she finished the class, "I have some questions regarding the explosion in the harbor."
"Johnny, go ahead and lock up once the class leaves," Kellie said and motioned for Mac to follow her.
"What really brings you here?" Kellie asked, "I doubt you'd question me after the dressing down Diane Miller gave the PCPD after the explosion in the harbor the other night."
"We were merely doing our job as I'm sure you know," Mac said, "But I came by with an update on our joint effort to stop the drugs coming into Port Charles."
"Currently, my contacts have not come back with anything," Kellie said, "Other than they haven't seen the particular strain of drug being developed at GH. But it's unlike anything they've ever seen. Highly addictive. But they'll be on the lookout for it now."
"Good to know," Mac said, "But I wanted to let you know they found drugs in the wreckage from the boat explosion."
"Any chance Cyrus will be facing charges?" Kellie asked.
"One can hope," Mac said, "But his lawyers are working overtime to create a lot of reasonable doubt that Cyrus knew anything about the drugs on the ship. That it was all the work of a rogue disgruntled employee."
"Doubtful," Kellie said, "Any chance I could get a list of names of Cyrus's people you're investigating? In case something sticks out to me, connections."
"Got a piece of paper?" Mac asked.
Kellie grabbed a pad of paper and pen from her desk.
"Anyway, we were able to tentatively match the make -up of the drugs found in the harbor to the drug being developed at GH," Mac said as he wrote, "At least based on some identifying characteristics. They may be the same."
"Cyrus would say it's just coincidence if you asked," Kellie said, "Probably better to look for more evidence before trying anything with that."
"My thought exactly," Mac said, handing Kellie the pad of paper, "I just wanted to fill you in case it helps you on your end. Your questionable associations aside, your foundation does good things. I'd hate to see Cyrus or anyone else use it for nefarious purposes."
"Thanks, Mac," Kellie said, looking at the names, "I hope we wrap this up sooner rather than later."
"You and me both. The collateral damage in your family's mob wars hasn't been this bad in years," Mac said, "No offense to you."
"None taken," Kellie said, "I don't deny the chaos that accompanies the family business. I just want Port Charles to be safer again."
"So your kids can come home," Mac said, "Maxie mentioned you'd sent them to the island."
"After the scare with Kelsey at GH, I can't risk them," Kellie said, "I wanted to send them last fall, but then Christmas and then my dad…anyway, some of these names have connections to Cassandra Pierce. Worked for her at one time or another."
"You know that how?" Mac asked.
"I thought it might be a good idea to get up to speed on drug traffickers that had taken an interest in Port Charles," Kellie said, "Valentine Cassadine was kind enough to provide the information I requested."
"For a price I'm sure," Mac replied.
"He owed me," Kellie said, making notes on the pad, "You don't want to know. But WSB might be a starting place."
"I'll look into it," Mac said, "Out of curiosity, how stable is Jason's transition into running the business."
"Other than Cyrus, I think his leadership has been accepted," Kellie said, "But I can't say it's stable ground either. That's a guess on my part."
"Right," Mac said, skeptically "I should be going."
"One question, how is Maxie doing?" Kellie said, "I know what's she said, she seems to be putting on brave front after giving birth to Louise and having her taken by that crazy nurse or Peter August."
"As well as can be expected," Mac said, "What I wouldn't give to get my hands on the creep. I can't understand how he thought killing Franco Baldwin and Drew Cain was the solution. It's not like we didn't know he was involved in the Jason/Drew kidnapping. So what if Drew remembers now and sent Franco a recording to tell him. He could taken responsibility and none of this would have happened. But nope he has to go full Faison and kill him."
"Any leads on his whereabouts?" Kellie asked.
"Not since he tried to get that nurse to kidnap Maxie before she gave birth," Mac said, "If you're thinking about putting out some feelers…"
"I already did," Kellie said, "If something comes up, I'll let you know. Maxie doesn't need to be looking over shoulder for that obsessive monster the rest of her life."
Nixon Falls
Phyllis walked into the bar, carrying several boxes.
"Let me get that," Mike said, grabbing the boxes from Phyllis.
"Well, thank you, Mike," Phyllis said.
"These aren't the usual inventory boxes," Mike said.
"That's cause they aren't," Phyllis said, "There are some families in the area that were previously in some bad situations. The organization helped them out of that situation and resettled them just last year. Occasionally, they ship things the families may need. In the interest of trying to keep their whereabouts less known, the boxes are shipped to the bar. The families pick them up here."
"I'll put them in the back," Mike said.
"Hold up," Phyllis said, grabbing her phone, "I need to check we received everything the families are expecting."
"Then let's check it," Mike said, opening a box. His face fell seeing the contents of the box.
"What's wrong?" Phyllis asked.
"What organization are you getting these boxes from?" Mike asked as Phyllis came to look at the box and saw the bags of white powder.
"Crossing Into Dawn, they do a lot of work with abused women children, foster kids, and other people who need help," Phyllis said, going to touch it "What is that?"
"Don't touch it," Mike said, "I think we might want to call the police if it's what I think it is."
"Why do we need to call the police?" Lenny asked entering the bar.
"If I'm not mistaken," Mike said, "I think that might be cocaine."
"Cocaine?" Phyllis asked, "But that can't be right."
"Are you serious?" Lenny said, "I did research on the foundation when they asked us to be a point of contact. I had some reservations, but ultimately their track record spoke for itself."
"Hold on, they actually implemented new procedures," Phyllis said, "If something's wrong with supplies, they have number for us to call."
"What if they're the ones trying to distribute drugs?" Lenny asked.
"It doesn't add up," Phyllis said, "One of the reason we were impressed with the foundation was they threw out some bad apples stealing money."
"You could call the number," Mike said, "If you still aren't comfortable, call the cops."
"That might work," Phyllis said.
"I'm going to lock the front door until we sort this out," Lenny said.
The Savoy
"So you don't think I'm totally crazy?" Sam asked Curtis.
"No, not all," Curtis said, "I'd want it to be true that Drew is alive. For your sakes, Scout's sake. If it's not true then better to know what kind of sick freak is trying to play games by calling and pretending to be Drew."
"Then would you consider helping me…" Sam asked.
"Without a doubt," Curtis said as Sam's phone rang.
Sam looked at the number, "It's coming from the foundation line for reporting issues with donations…."
"Hello…" Sam said, "This is Sam McCall, I'm a volunteer. What's the issue?" Then she listened.
"That doesn't sound right at all," Sam said, "Yes, definitely call the cops. We'll also make our own report. If you have anything else you need to talk to someone from the foundation about this issue, I'm going to give you my direct line as well as the phone number for the executive director and founder. If you only talk to the three of us for now about this issue, we'd appreciate it. Is it okay if I give the executive director and the founder your contact information…..their names are Lorenzo Alcazar and Kellie Morgan….Thank for you contacting us, you did the right thing."
"I'm guessing we found what we were hoping we wouldn't find at the foundation," Curtis said.
"Drugs in one of the packages for family our of state," Sam said, "I'm going to call my dad and Kellie, let them take it from here."
Nixon Falls
"What did they say?" Lenny asked when Phyllis got off the phone.
"They want us to inform the police," Phyllis said, "It sounds like the executive director and founder are hands on with this. They'll likely be the ones following up from the foundation."
"Sounds to me like they may had an idea something was going on," Mike said.
"I'll do what they said and report this to the cops and let the families know they're supplies are delayed," Phyllis said, "It'll probably take some time for the foundation to get us replacements. Lenny, go through the checklist and see what we can supply or buy to help them."
"I'll lock the boxes up in the back," Mike said, "until the cops get here."
Crossing Into Dawn – Lorenzo's Office
"The cops have gotten what they needed," Lorenzo said, "They have the boxes and the drugs in custody."
"I let the PCPD know what happened," Kellie said, "They'll be checking into things that happened here. Now that we know that something shady happened, the PCPD and other agencies will be handling the investigation."
"Not that you'll stay out of it," Lorenzo said.
"I still want us to keep tabs on it," Kellie said, "With Sam and Curtis's attention focused on searching for Drew and with my kids out of town, I have the time. Now that Dante's back on the force, I can see what additional information he can share with me that the task force might not."
"I know I've said it before," Lorenzo said, "But just be careful. Tell Sam I said the same if you see her before I do."
"I told her to reach out to Anna Devane and Robert Scorpio," Kellie said, "I think getting the WSB involved in her search is her best bet. Who knows maybe they can finally take Peter August down."
"I didn't realize you had a vested interested in Peter August being brought to justice," Lorenzo said.
"Let's see aside from being involved with Jason and Drew's kidnapping the first time," Kellie said, "He's killed, well now possibly kidnapped my cousin's husband and my stepsons both have lost stepdads I know they were close to. Don't even get me started on his obsession and terrorizing of Maxie."
"His treatment of Maxie would kind of hit a little too close home for you, wouldn't it," Lorenzo said.
"In some ways, it's like watching what happen with Ethan happen to someone else," Kellie said, "The only difference being that Peter tried to hide his evil and snuck his way into Maxie's life. But now that his insanity and grand delusions are out in the open, it's the same way Ethan operated. He can make Maxie be with him, not matter what he has to do at any costs. He doesn't hear what she's telling him and thinks he knows better."
Before Lorenzo could respond, they were interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Excuse me," one of the volunteers said as they opened the door and looked in, "We'll need to get a new box of supplies ready to go to Nixon Falls. How soon do you want to send it there, we can overnight ship."
"Actually," Kellie said, "I'll take the supplies down. I'd like to talk to the Caulfields myself about what happened."
General Hospital
"Thank you for keeping me informed," Cyrus said, talking on his phone quietly. He hung up and made another call.
"Mr. August, I have a job for you," Cyrus said, "My sources tell me Kellie Corinthos-Morgan is headed to Nixon Falls. Make sure she and anyone else we might know doesn't come back."
"Now hold on minute," Peter said.
"I don't care what game you're playing down there, Mr. August," Cyrus said, "I went to a lot of trouble to make sure no one was able to or willing to identify their new bartender. I won't have her or anyone else screwing up all my plans."
"I'll deal with her," Peter said, "But I need the others alive and unaware. It may be the only way I can find my daughter."
"For someone who needed my resources to skip town," Cyrus said, "you're in no position to negotiate. Take care of all of them."
