Emily hadn't been allowed out of Sherlock and Mycrofts sight for the remainder of her pregnancy. It got a little annoying but even she could understand why it was non-negotiable.
The months past and eventually, on the 31st January, Emily gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Eliza Sally Holmes. The first baby girl (except for Eurus who nobody speaks of) in 6 generations of the Holmes family. Nobody was more shocked about her middle name than Sally Donovan. The two woman had become very close friends after Emily had awoken to find her at her bedside the day in hospital. Sherlock and Sally never sniped at each other anymore and Sherlock even went out of his way to explain his dedictions to her in a friendly tone when he was there on cases. Sally and Emily would spend time together away from cases, going shopping or having afternoon tea. Sally had burst into tears when asked by Emily to be Elizas godmother along with Anthea. Greg and John naturally becoming her godfathers.
Sherlock was absolutely besotted with his little girl. Despite Emily wanting to, she was unable to breastfeed and therefore had to make due to formula and bottles. Due to the fact Sherlock rarely slept, He would often do the night feeds and Emily would frequently find him asleep on the couch with little Eliza asleep on his chest. She couldnt be happier.
Mycroft had refused to give Sherlock anymore international government cases, occasionally asking his opinion but never asking him to investigate himself, His reasoning, He had people other than him that would miss him now.
Uncle Myc was Elizas favourite person in the world, ( to the annoyance of her daddy) as soon as his umbrella could be heard on the stairs her little grin would light up her face and she would eye the door intently waiting for him to enter. At first he tried to be distant and carry on his 'iceman' persona, but after the first time he'd held her, only an hour after she had been born, Mycroft had melted. Often he would pop round so Emily could 'have a rest' and sit reading reports out to the baby cradled in his arms. Umbrella forgotten by the door.
Greg was the fun uncle, taking her out to the park and getting down on the floor to play with her. He and Mycroft had been together over 6 months, having finally admitted their feelings for each other the day after Eliza had been born.
John had finally got Anthea to agree to date him, they were taking it slow but Emily thought she would hear wedding bells and see bridesmaid dresses soon enough.
All in all it was a very happy family that lived in Bakers Street, One consulting dectective, his two sidekicks, his daughter and goddaughter along with his friends, brother and family. Surrounded by love.
Eurgh, How mundane.THE END.
