Nina was met by the cold, angry stares of Sonny and Kellie. Stares reminding her of who Sonny really was, despite not remembering and that Kellie took after her father.
"Just turn around and leave," Kellie said first.
"I wanted to see that you're alright and say thank you," Nina stuttered.
"It's not necessary," Kellie said, "After what you did, keeping my father from us for months, I won't come after you. You're not worth the time. I can't say the same for other members of my family."
"I just need you both to understand Peter was blackmailing me and he would have hurt my nephew," Nina rambled, pleading, "I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Mike, I really did fall in love with you, care about you."
"Enough," Sonny yelled, "How could you lie to me about who I was and still claim to love me?"
"What happened to not wanting to know who you were?" Nina asked, "And wanting to see where the future takes us?"
Kellie turned to look at Sonny, "Is that true? Were you really not going to try and figure out who you were? Not find out if you had a wife or kids somewhere."
"Well, that's exactly how I'd…." Sonny started to say.
"After the police told you they didn't know who you were, did you do anything to try to find out who you were?" Kellie interrupted.
"I kept meaning to," Sonny said, "But things happened."
"Things, huh," Kellie said, "You know what the sad thing is. I can't even be that surprised. You never can be without a woman for very long. Hell sometimes, you can't even stay faithful to one."
"You're out of line, Kellie," Sonny yelled.
"Do not blame your father," Nina said, "I'm the one that didn't tell him who he was."
"Pretty sure, I can blame you and him," Kellie said, "Now both of you can leave."
"I obviously know when I've worn out my welcome. Kellie, I hope you heal quickly," Nina said, "And thank you for rescuing me from Peter."
Nina walked out the door, surprising Johnny who then kept the door open listening.
"I think we need to talk," Sonny said.
"No, we don't," Kellie said, then yelled, "Johnny."
"I get it you're upset, you just got out of surgery," Sonny said as Johnny came in the rest of the way.
"Now this really never goes well when you try to patronize me because you don't agree with me," Kellie said, "Leave before Johnny makes you."
Johnny moved closer to Sonny to indicate he'd do as asked.
"We'll pick this up later when you're recovered," Sonny said.
"Don't bother," Kellie said, "Why pretend you have any interest in your kids when you obviously didn't care to find out what happened to you when you lost your memory."
Sonny was about to say more when he caught Johnny's reprimanding stare and decided to make a quiet exit.
"I never would have let Nina in here," Johnny said once Sonny left, "She must have snuck in while the doctor insisted on a follow up. I was still in the hall way, but…"
"It was bound to happen sooner or later," Kellie said.
"I take it you found out Nina's known Sonny was here for months," Johnny said.
"I gathered that when Peter was holding her and Phyllis hostage," Kellie said, "Not only were Sonny and Nina pursuing a romantic relationship with each other, Dad didn't really ever try to find out who he was."
"That can't be right," Johnny said, "Are you sure about that?"
"There was no misunderstanding that," Kellie said as Jason entered the room.
"Misunderstanding what?" Jason asked. Johnny quietly left as Jason sat in the chair next to Kellie's bed.
"What happened?" Jason asked, holding Kellie's hand.
"Memory or no memory, Sonny and I will still find some way to argue," Kellie said.
"I can't say I'm surprised," Jason replied, "But I didn't expect it quite this fast. What was it about?"
"Doesn't sound like he was going to even try to find out anything about himself," Kellie said, "He and Nina were just going to ride off into the sunset together."
"Sonny and Nina?" Jason replied, shocked.
Kellie nodded.
"I did not see that one coming," Jason said.
Silence fell between them. Neither one was sure what to say.
Kellie eventually spoke, "You know part of me thought that maybe since he didn't remember who he was that maybe we might get along better. I could just leave all the baggage of our relationship behind. But when Nina brought up him not wanting to find out who he was, it's like I'm right back in every other time, he failed me or I felt like he did. Jason, he wasn't going to even check to see if had a family, he'd be abandoning. Donna and Avery are just little girls…"
"Like you were," Jason said, "When you thought Sonny had abandoned you."
"I guess," Kellie said, "it feels stupid to…"
"No, it's not stupid," Jason said, "Your relationship with Sonny is complicated. You still remember everything about it, even though he doesn't."
"You've known him way longer than I have," Kellie said, "Do you have any idea why he'd?"
"I haven't been able to come up with one," Jason said, "I don't if there's any sense in you wracking your brain over it."
"I don't think I can I help it," Kellie said.
"I know," Jason said, "Right now we figure out how to move forward the best we can."
"We also have to deal with the business and families," Kellie said, "Dad obviously can't run the business. Who knows how the families will see it?"
"That's for me to worry about," Jason said, "Not you. You just focus on your recovery."
"I know that taking over the business hasn't been the easiest for you," Kellie said, "Cyrus is still a threat."
"Probably not for much longer actually," Jason said, "I talked to Anna. The police chief here confessed to keeping Sonny's identity a secret first on his brother's orders and Cyrus's. Cyrus and his brother and Cassandra Pierce were business partners. You were right about your theory of Cyrus being connected to others who previously tried to run drugs through Port Charles. The PCPD connected Cyrus to drugs with the shipment that blew up. Cyrus took Gladys and Brando hostage. They're fine. But Cyrus was shot. Now's he taken Dr. Portia Robinson and her daughter hostage."
"To get medical treatment obviously," Kellie said.
"I guess Laura's worked her way into the mix somehow," Jason said, "Thinking Cyrus might reason with her as her sister. No word yet on how it's going."
"It's only a matter of time then," Kellie said.
"Hopefully," Jason said.
"Maybe things will quiet down," Kellie said, "and I can bring the kids home."
"It's hasn't been the same without them," Jason said.
"No, it hasn't," Kellie said.
After a few moments of silence, Kellie said, "As soon as the doctors clear me, I need to go be with my kids."
"I figured that you might want that," Jason said, "and I think you'd be safer recovering there too than in Port Charles. As soon as you can fly, we'll get you to the island."
They were interrupted by Johnny and Valentin's voices outside. Valentin was audibly upset.
"I demand to speak to your boss, O' Brien," Valentin yelled.
"I'll take care of him," Jason said, getting up and moving towards the door.
Jason opened the door and Valentin used the opportunity to burst in. Jason and Johnny each grabbed an arm to stop him.
"Did you know?" Valentin asked.
"Know what?" Kellie asked.
"That Bailey wasn't my daughter," Valentin replied.
"Why would I know that Brooklyn was lying to you about the father of her baby?" Kellie replied, "She and I don't exactly hang out."
"Out now," Jason said.
"You really didn't know," Valentin said, his posture standing down, "Bailey's not Brooklyn's baby either. She's Maxie's Louise."
Everyone one in the room was speechless.
"Are you saying Maxie gave her baby to Brooklyn to protect from Peter August?" Jason said.
"it seems that way," Valentin replied, "I guess I thought since you and Maxie run around with your cousins and Lulu, you might have helped her."
"I wasn't aware of any of that," Kellie said, "But if she'd asked, I would have helped her."
"I figured as much. I won't waste anymore of your time," Valentin said, "The important thing is Maxie's daughter is safe in all of that. I guess I just."
"Needed someone to blame," Kellie said, "That Maxie's intentions and some of Brooklyn's intentions were in Bailey's best interest doesn't change the hurt. All our history aside, you adore your daughters. As someone that could have been in Maxie's situation if I hadn't miscarried my first child years ago, trying to figure out how to keep a child safe, I'm sorry for the pain that type of decision causes. It's not something, we want to do. To this day I still hate that Tyler thought for even one second I'd kept a child from him for years when Luis Alcazar made him think that."
"I appreciate the sentiment," Valentin said, turning to leave.
Johnny herded Valentin out.
"I'll be right back," Jason said to Kellie, following them out and closing the door.
Once Valentine left, Jason spoke, "Johnny, no one else gets in this room except you, me, Diane, and Max."
"She's not getting rest between Sonny and Nina, Valentin," Johnny said.
"She's probably going to have to stay here a few days," Jason said, "We'll need get a few more guards here, to switch shifts with you."
"Already on their way," Johnny said, "I'll spend the night here. They can relieve me in the morning."
"I'd planned to stay," Jason said
"You really should get a hotel room," Johnny said, "You look worse than I do."
"I don't want to leave her alone," Jason said, "Listening to her talk to Valentine just now, I'm worried Maxie's situation with Peter hits closer to home than she might let on. She did kill a man terrorizing one of her friends in much the same way the Esoterra brothers terrorized her. At some point that's going to hit her."
"You won't be much help if you run yourself ragged," Johnny said, "I'll see what I can do about getting you a cot or bed in the room with you."
Jason nodded and then saw Anna approaching.
"Anna, any news on the situation in Port Charles," Jason said.
"Have you been able to fill Kellie on what's going on?" Anna said.
"Yeah, she knows that Dr. Robinson and her daughter are Cyrus's hostages," Jason said.
"May I?" Anna said, nodding towards the door, "If she's up to it, I'll need take her statement."
"Anna, she hasn't any rest," Jason said, "She and Sonny already got into it with each other. Nina and Valentin showing up didn't help."
"I told Valentin I didn't think Kellie knew about Maxie's baby," Anna said, "Based on what I heard from Felicia. I'm sorry about that."
"You're not Valentin's keeper," Jason said.
"Still," Anna said, "Anyway, are we going to just stand here?"
"Update us," Jason said, "You can ask questions. But if she is tiring out, you'll have to come back later."
"Of course," Anna said.
Jason opened the door and saw Kellie was finishing up a call with the kids.
"Anna," Kellie said, trying to sit up.
"Don't over exert yourself on my account," Anna said, "I've got some news and I hope you're up for a few questions."
"What is it?" Kellie asked.
"Dr. Robinson, her daughter, and Laura are safe," Anna said, "However, Cyrus did manage to get away.
