White Eclipse
Chapter 61
"Fire make: spears!"
From where he stood, a red magic seal appeared in front of Kuro. From the magic seal, he fired off an abundance of spears made of flames that struck into a group of demons. The others turned to find the culprit and spot Kuro in the middle of the street. They then all stampede towards the Fire Make mage, running past Zalen who was hiding behind the wall of a building right before Kuro. As they ran past the building mage, Zalen quickly darts off to the city outskirts.
Kuro smiles as he noticed his guild mate run through with no problem. He then turns back to the incoming stampede of demons. He then claps his palms together as his magic aura begins to fluctuate and flare upward, causing his hair and clothing to waver in an upward motion. "Fire Make: Swords Dance!" From above, without any warning, a seemingly endless rain of swords made out off fire stab and burn into the incoming demons, taking out nearly every soulless being that charged Kuro. As he finished up, he turned to see Odin, one of the council captains, running around the corner and towards him. Kuro begins to wave. "Don't worry, I took care of-"
Before Kuro could finish his sentence, Odin grabbed Kuro by his collar. He then pointed to Zalen who was now making his way to the horizon at an incredible pace, floating on an iron plate. "Where is he going!?"
Kuro looked over towards the fleeing Zalen and then back to Odin with a smile. He gave an exaggerated shrug. "I guess he couldn't handle it!"
"I know you're lying to me! If he could do that, he could of evacuated the ones that don't want to be here before the cannon fires! Unless...He's headed for the Etherion Cannon isn't he!?"
Kuro eyes widen as he point behind Odin. "Demons!"
Odin quickly drops Kuro and quickly turns to defend himself against...no one. "Huh? There's no one here.." Odin turns back around to where Kuro last stood, now watching as the red head comically ran off away from the captain. "You little! Get back here!"
"Ice make: freeze lancer!" From his ice make pose, Gray fires off a round of ice lances towards a hoard of demons.
"Water slicer!" And of course right beside him, Juvia fires off her water slicer attack, blades of water magic slicing right through any demon soldier in it's path.
"Gravity God's bellow!" From his mouth, Cygnus fires off a huge ball of gravity magic right into the middle of the pack of demons he was facing, knocking them out of the way.
"Beast soul! Elfman uses his takeover to turn into his "king of beast" form, Beast Soul. He begins thrashing about, slamming and attacking demons left and right. One demon happens to jump on his back and stab him in the shoulder with it's claw. After letting out a roar of pain, he grabs the demon and flips him over into the ground. He then stomps on the lone soldier as he turns his attention to the next wave coming.
They all take a moment to gather themselves as the swarm surrounds them once again. "There really is no end. This really is an apocalypse." Gray says as he pants slightly from all the fighting. "Don't quit yet. A real Man never quits." Elfman replies as he reverted back to his normal state.
"Besides." Cygnus says, chiming in. "We've just started, and I'm sure it's only going to get harder from here."
"Juvia is ready!" The aquatic mage yelled. Gray looked back at her with a grin and then turned back to the demons in front of him. "Right...lets go!"
"Jaw of the Lightning Dragon!" With both of his fists cupped together, Laxus slams them into a random demon; the force of the attack killing it on impact as it slammed into the ground, leaving a small crater. The rest of the swarm turn their attention to the S class lightning dragon slayer and quickly charge. With all the attention on Laxus, Sting steps into view with his hands cupped behind his hip.
"Holy Ray!" He threw his hands forward firing off a large beam of white magic that spreads into smaller yet still as powerful beams, slamming into random demons. The remaining demons were now confused on who to go after. This abrupt halt allowed the two dragons to then attack once again.
"Raging Bolt!"
"White Dragon's Roar!"
The two attacks meet in the middle, dispersing the demons with a mixture of lightning and white magic.
"I was sent here to guard you two. So don't get lost." Pantherlily says as he stood in his fully grown state, holding his sword. Below him, standing knee high to the exceed, were Romeo and Wendy. They stood back to back as a swarm of demons surrounded them. Floating above them, was Happy and Charla. "I'll protect you Charla!" Happy exclaims.
"That's not needed He-cat."
The demons make the first move as a single one leaps towards the kid mages/exceed combo. Romeo grins. "Time for training to pay off!" As he yelled, purple flames covered his hands. He threw his right hand forward, latching the purple flame right into the demon's chest. It began burning his victim, yet, due to it's unique properties, the purple flame stuck to his chest like an adhesive. Romeo then took the "rope" of the sticky fire and slung it upward, causing the burning demon to ascend into the air unwillingly. Romeo then slings his arms back down, dragging the demon down as well. It crashes into the ground, lifeless. The flame in his free hand changes colors, from purple to blue as more demons charge. As he throws the flame forward, Wendy also turns and fires a Sky Dragon's Wing Slash. The combination of sky and fire magic slam into the charging demons, dispersing quite a few as the rest of them charge in relentlessly. Pantherlily then steps back in front as he begins hacking and slicing through the incoming soldiers of Zeref.
As this went on, Skye appears. She flips right into the crowd of demons with her scythe Necrosis in hand. Without wasting a second, she began spinning her scythe with precise movements, not wasting a step. One by one at a fast pace, demons fell to the ground as limbs were amputated.
"She's good.." Romeo says as he watches. Skye's performance put Romeo in a trance, leaving him wide open as a demon lunged for him. "Romeo!" Charla yelled out. The young mage turned and froze as the demon neared him, only to be saved by the blue exceed who slammed a flying head butt into the demon, sending it away temporarily.
"Happy...thanks."
"Aye sir! Just stay alert!"
Romeo nodded, and re-ignited his hands in blue flames as he readied for the next round of demons.
.
"Dark make: Viper." With a nonchalant expression, Amon points a finger, and from that finger he creates a long pitch black snake that immediately charges the two mages that stood before them. Before the snake could sink it's fangs into either one of them, both Kairi and Mirajane take off into the air away from the reptile. As Mirajane stopped her ascension, the snake quickly followed and attempted to coil around her. She flips out right before the squeeze and places her hands on the body of the snake. "Evil spark!" From her hands, a charge of lightning occurs, shocking the snake and causing it to plummet back to the ground, violently crashing into the ground, wiping out a few demons in the process. Meanwhile, Kairi flew towards Amon. She swung down a punch that Amon leaps away from, causing her fist to crash into the building, breaking off a good chunk of it. Amon lands from his evasive action and quickly lunges towards Kairi with a hard high kick aimed for her head. As she blocks the kick with her forearms, Amon continues with the onslaught with just his legs, throwing a mixture of high, low and spinning kicks that Kairi just managed to block as she began stepping backwards to keep up. Amon goes for a leg sweep but Kairi hops over it. Now hovering, she opened a palm and fired off her patented air bullets towards Amon. With impressive speed, he leaps away from the barrage. Unfortunately for him however, he leapt towards an awaiting Mirajane. With her right fist covered in her dark magic, Mirajane slams a clubbing right hook to Amon's jaw, sending him crashing into the ground below. As the smoke from the crash disappears, Amon stood once again, dusting himself off. Though his expression seemed unchanged, he began clenching his jaw in annoyance. "I see I'm going to have to actually put in a bit of effort here. No matter."
Instead of his usual one finger dark make, Amon opens his entire right palm as a magic seal appears from it. "Dark make: Vultures."
The magic seal expands, and from it, two giant bird like creations appear. All of them were about half the size of the previous liger, which was still enormous. They stood perched on the ground as Amon walked next to them, now standing between the two vultures.
"...Kill them."
"Kanso!" The raven haired gunslinger requips two normal pistols into his hands as he began following Corson's movements with his precision eyes. Every shot he took just barely missing as Corson vanished in a beam of light everytime. Reve kept firing until he momentarily lost track of the general. Corson then appeared above Reve on a somewhat destroyed building. With an open palm he fired off another round of his astral magic. A beam of stars hurled toward the guns requip mage at a high speed. Reve merely sways away from the attack with a cocky grin on his face. Though the "stars" were merely inches from his face, he kept the smirk on his face as he fired towards Corson once again. This time the general didn't have time to disappear since he was still in the midst of his own attack. The bullet slams into his shoulder, causing the demon general to step backwards from the impact. "Mine." Reve whispers as he then begins to unload a barrage of magic bullets into Corson. The general covers up with his arms as he quickly begins to bruise from the attack, slowly sliding backwards from the force of the pistols. Finally, he vanishes in a beam of light once again.
"Hm.. He's strong." Reve says aloud. "There would of been holes in him right now if he was human." As he scouted the recent situation, Reve dropped his pistols to the ground, and in a celestial light, his hands grasp a sawn off shotgun styled weapon. At the same time, he loses his boots. He stands barefoot as his precision eyes continue to search for the impossibly quick Corson. Reve looks straight ahead, and the general appears to his right. Corson swings a hard right hook, but Reve manages to duck the punch in time. A small magic circle then forms behind Reve's right hand as he uses his quick draw technique to swing his shotgun around, pressing it against Corson's abdomen. The demon general looks down as magic begins to form at the mouth of Reve's weapon.
"...heh. Burst shot!"
The concentrated magic forms into a blast as the point blank attack slams into Corson's stomach, sending him flying backwards and into the ground a good thirty yards away. Reve kept a grin as Corson raised up once again, emotionless. He began to curse quietly through his teeth as he smiled at the demon. Corson moves his neck from side to side as a popping sound was heard each time. He then gives the smallest of grins towards the guns requip mage. "What's this thing made of though? No holes in him at all. Well when all else fails..." Reve requips once more, staying barefoot. A white jacket appears over his torso. Another sawn off appears in his off hand as well as he "reloads." He then yells aloud.
"Aim for the head!"
.
He soared through the air as he rushed towards where the council headquarters used to be. On his iron plate he flew at his top speed until he saw the wreckage that used to be the most feared station in Fiore. Behind the sight of what used to be, another building was less than a mile away and within minutes Zalen Castle reached his destination. Not wasting anytime, he jumps in the air, and manipulates the iron plate he was riding on into a full body suit. The iron plate wraps around him perfectly, covering his entire body just before he crashes through the wall of the lone building. As he rolled through he released the iron off of him and quickly looked around. "I made it, with ten minutes to spare." Zalen says as he stands up after noticing no one around. "Siegrain must of left. No matter!" Zalen begins to run towards the middle of the room. As he reached it, he grabs the rail of a waist high fence that separated him from a plethora of magic seals that hovered over one another. "I should of brought Luke. He could of deflected the blast before it became too strong. Wait...that's it!" Zalen puts his foot on the railing, preparing to jump down, but as he leaped, a hand catches him by the ankle and slings him back away from the cannon's core. Zalen tumbles for a bit until he hits the wall behind him. As he looked up, he saw a battered bruised Siegrain standing in front of him with a stern expression. "Not happening."
"You don't understand!" Zalen says as he scrambles to his feet. "You're about to kill everyone in that city!"
"They're only mages. You only care because they're your friends. If White Eclipse wasn't in there you wouldn't be here right now trying to save that city."
"That's not true!" Zalen yelled. "No one deserves to die like that! Just because you want to defeat one person!"
"That one person will be the end of everything in existence! And this cannon is our last hope, yet you want to stop it because a few of your friends are in the way! Like I said, Zalen Castle, it's not happening."
Zalen shivers a bit at the fact of the cannon actually going off and destroying his guild mates along with everyone else. He then lowers his head in what seemed like defeat. "No..."
"Hm?" Seigrain cocked a brow towards the building mage as Zalen glared at the Magic Council leader.
"I'm not going to let the cannon fire. Even if I have to get through you to stop it!"
"Oh?" Seigrain crossed his arms as a heavenly light wrapped around his body. "Well then you better hurry up and beat me. You only have about five minutes left."
.
"You think we'd cause more attention from these demons, being SS class mages and all right?" Gildarts says as he and Sidney literally walk down the main street of the city. A demon pops out from the alley way and leaps towards Gildarts from his left. Without looking, the powerful mage raises a fist right into the face of the demon and after a delayed reaction, the demon goes soaring right back into the alleyway. A loud crash follows as the two mages continue their walk.
"Well...you know how it is." Sidney says. "No one really likes to mess with us, even if they aren't trying to dodge us. Our souls radiate stronger than normal mages." As he spoke, another random demon leaped down from up above. Sidney threw a lazy uppercut to the demon's jaw and after another one second delay, the demon goes skyrocketing into the air, never to be seen again. "But shouldn't we be helping them take out the generals? My soul tells me it would make this situation we're in a lot easier don't you think?"
"I think they can handle it." Gildarts replies. "If anything, we should try to make our way to Zeref." He nods at his own statement as he and Sidney come across a crowd of demons standing around. They all turn once one of then spots the two SS class mages. "Oh look, it seems we have something to do after all."
"It still isn't much." Sidney says as he tugs on his scarf a bit. "But I guess they'll make due."
Danjal and Bacchus ran towards each other. Meeting in the middle, Bacchus threw forward a right open palm that Danjal avoids by ducking. He then leaps upward with a spinning uppercut with his sword. Bacchus awkwardly leans away from the slicing action, and readjusts himself as he swings a round of open palm strikes towards Danjal. A few of them press against the armor of the demon general. Even fewer show visible damage as a few cracks in his armor appear, causing Danjal go grunt in annoyance. "Powerful! All from drinking!?" The demon asked himself. He snapped back to reality and quickly strafed away from another fierce palm strike from Bacchus. He saw an opening and took it, quickly swinging his sword down towards Bacchus's head.
The drunken mage's eyes widen as he had no where to go. In an act of desperation, Bacchus holds up his left arm to shield his head from the sword. He paid the price for his actions, as his left hand was completely sliced off from the wrist up. In the next second, Bacchus was on his knees screaming in agony as his hand laid right beside him. Blood poured from his wrist as Danjal grinned towards the now one armed mage. Bacchus quickly pulled off the cloth that held his hair up and wrapped it around his wrist to slow the bleeding. His hair fell past his shoulders he quickly tightened the cloth as much as he could. Danjal began to laugh as Bacchus slowly stood up. "Just lay down and let me slay you. You're delaying the inevitable. I told you that your alcohol wasn't going to help you win this battle."
Bacchus stood with his head lowered and his hair draped over his eyes. He then started with a slight chuckle that caught Danjal's attention. Bacchus then exploded into a laugh, until he stopped himself to give Danjal a gaze. "I won't lie, it's been a long time since I've had such a wild fight."
Danjal sneered aloud towards the S class mage. "Your hand is missing, how can you laugh?"
"Well last time I checked, my hand wasn't connected to my voice box."
"Don't get smart with me you worthless human!" Danjal yelled in blind anger, and snapped his fingers, creating an explosion under Bacchus. "Not so funny now huh?"
As the smoke cleared, Bacchus rushed through with a smirk on his face, though the armor he wore was breaking apart. He then slams a magic palm right into the abdomen of Danjal, sending him hurling towards a broken building. As Danjal stands back up, his armor begins to break apart. "Looks like your armor isn't wild enough to stand up to a wizard like me!"
Danjal glares towards Bacchus, and begins ripping the armor off himself. "Oh?" Bacchus looked on as Danjal did so and as he finished, he exposed his upper body. On his abdomen was a magic seal in the form of a clock, it began loudly ticking.
"Ill destroy the entire south side of this city." The general says in a demonic tone.
"Suicide? That ain't wild at all." Bacchus replied.
"Suicide? Oh no, I'll survive. I'm impervious to my own magic. You on the other hand...Prepare to die!"
A wave of dark vectors rushes towards the general Bune of Justice. Bune simply lifts a hand and fires off what seems like just a gust of wind from his palm. That gust of wind slams into the wave of vectors, dispersing of them. Taya growls as Bune returns her look with a grin. Erza then leaps towards Bune from behind, now in her black wing armor. She swung down, but Bune notices the scarlet haired mage and quickly sways away from the attack. Now to her right, before Erza could swing again, Bune fires off another "gust of wind," that slams into Erza. After a delayed reaction, her Black Wing armor shatters into pieces, being rendered useless. Taya looked on with wide eyes as Erza fell to a knee from the pain of Bune's magic power. "He dispels armor too?" Taya asked herself even though she saw the answer right in front of her. Still, Erza rose back to her feet, requiping into her flight armor again. Bune fires off another blast but Erza uses the speed of her flight armor to dodge the attack. "Running already!? Giha!" Bune fires again as Erza rushes towards him. Without losing any momentum, Erza ducks past the dispel and ends up right under Bune. As she draws her sword however, Bune creates a magic seal under his feet. From that magic seal, a bubble of dispel magic forms around him and expands out a couple of yards, pushing Erza away from the general. She lands on her feet from the attack, but a second later, her Flight armor breaks just like her Black Wing armor. As Erza falls to the ground once again, Taya takes off towards Bune by riding on one of her vectors. Beside her, was another swarm of her dark vector magic also in pursuit of the demon general. "You don't learn do you!?" Bune exclaims with a sadistic smile. He then fires off another wave of his dispelling magic, first taking out the wave of vectors as Taya continued riding hers towards the demon. She was close, and Bune fires another blast, destroying her vector, but not before she leaped forward off of her own vector and right through the dispel magic unharmed. "Just as I thought! It only works on magic!"
Taya grins as she hurls towards Bune at a high speed. She spins into a flying roundhouse aimed for Bune's head, but the general easily ducks it. He then grabs her leg as the dark vector mage flew by him. "If you thought a demon was nothing more than it's magic, then you're in for a long day, Giha!" Bune then slams Taya into the ground, still holding on to her leg. She let out a quick shriek of pain from the sudden impact. Bune then throws her towards a now charging Erza who had no choice but to catch her. Taya was coming in fast, so Erza quickly requiped into her Giant's armor and catches Taya, still sliding backwards a bit from the catch. As she looked up, Bune had already fired off another blast of dispel magic, heading right for the Giant's armor. Off of instinct, Taya put up a wall of dark vectors to block the incoming dispel wave, but the magic merely flies through the wall and Erza's armor. Both forms of magic dispel, the vector wall dispersing into nothing while Erza's armor shatters right off of her.
Panting, both of the female mages stand, glaring towards Bune who stood as if he was just getting started. A wide smile slowly formed on the general's face. He would then burst out into laughter at their disposition. "Your magic is useless here!"
"Heh.." A small grin comes across Erza's face as she requiped once again. This time, she didn't appear in armor, but instead she wore red pants that had orange flames at the bottom of the leg as a design. The only thing over her torso were bandages wrapped around her breasts. Without a single sword in hand, Erza stood in a fighting stance. "Then we'll go without magic."
Taya looks over at Erza Scarlet. "...I see what you're doing. Looks like the only way." She then turns back to Bune as well, sliding into her own stance. Bune begins to laugh again. "You want to go hand to hand against me? That's what I'm best at! Don't be shy, wizards! Lets get this over with!"
"Dazzling Blaze of the Fire Dragon!"
Natsu threw forth a giant orb of flames towards the wizard Zeref. With a wave of the hand, Zeref merely creates a small wall of death magic that causes the dazzling blaze to fizzle out into nothing. By this time, Takeru slides to Zeref's right and swings a right shadow magic infused hook towards his head. Zeref leans away and knees Takeru in his exposed midsection. Takeru folds over by the surprising strength behind Zeref's attack. The black wizard allowed Takeru to drop to the ground in front of him, holding his stomach, and grunting in pain from the blow. Natsu comes back with a fiery kick aimed for the top of Zeref's head. Once again, the killing mage sways out of the way and slams a hard open palm strike to the Dragon Slayer's chest, causing him to tumble away from Zeref in a painful manner. Takeru then took this time to go into his shadow mode, sinking into the surface below him. Zeref notices the mage vanish, but still stood unconcerned as Takeru rose up from the surface behind Zeref with his cheeks puffed out, readying another roar. Without turning around, Zeref grabs Takeru by the head, causing his palm to block the opening to his mouth. The roar explodes in Takeru's mouth, causing the shadow dragon to fall backwards white eyed after the explosion occurred. "Takeru!"
The Dragon Slayer fell to the ground, unconscious from his own attack.
"That wasn't supposed to happen!" Lucy says.
"Lucy! You're gonna have to start now!" Natsu yells back.
"Right!" Lucy then holds up her key as it begins to glow a golden aura. "Open, gate of the twins: Gemini!"
Without hesitation, the celestial spirit Gemini appears as Lucy's double ganger. Quickly, Lucy places her right hand against Gemini's left, causing a magic seal to form under them as they begin to glow.
Natsu grins, but as he turns back to Zeref, the killing mage stood right in front of him, and grabbed him by the scarf. Zeref then throws Natsu over his shoulders. Natsu catches himself before falling off the building, coming to a sliding stop as he eyes Zeref. As he runs towards the wizard, Natsu's eyes widen in horror as Zeref turns to the celestial mage.
"Your attempts are futile. Begone, vermin."
Zeref raises a right palm with his thumb tucked in. A small ball begins to gather in front of his hand as he takes aim at Lucy.
"Lucy!" Natsu yelled out, but Lucy was too far into her preparation to react in time. Zeref fires, and in a burst of speed, Natsu engulfs his entire body in lightning and flame magic as he runs right past Zeref, attempting to beat the large raw beam of Zeref's death magic to Lucy.
From the top of the building a large cloud of smoke could be seen. The blast caused a lot of mages to stop and look, and even some of the demons halted as well. Lucy and Gemini stood as the smoke cleared, no longer preparing their attack as Lucy stood shaking with her hands over her mouth. A few feet in front of her, Natsu stood with his arms spread out. Once again, his scarf was black. He turned to Lucy and gave her a smile. "Don't worry, I got you."
As soon as Natsu recited those words, his skin begins to turn a rotten green, just a Zancrow's did back on Tenrou Island. He begins to teeter towards the edge of the building they stood upon. "N-N..."
Lucy watched with tears flowing down her eyes as the Fire Dragon Slayer fell seemingly lifelessly towards the ground, right next to the still unconscious Takeru.
"N-no..."
"NATSU!"
