Rule #46b: It is sacrilegious to refuse a nap

"Nngh…" Toru groaned tiredly as she finally came to, sometime later. Ice slid down her back and the familiar scent of medicine filtered through her nostrils. Something fit snugly over her nose and mouth, which let sweet tendrils of oxygen flow inside. Even out of it, the invisible girl intimately knew what an oxygen mask felt like, after all, so many years spent in and out of a hospital would do that to you. Eventually, she pulled her eyes open to find herself partially submerged in a melted bath of icy water, in what she could only assume was the infirmary. To her right, an identical tub held Monoma who looked far worse for wear than she did, after copying and overexerting her quirk.

"Morning" Karma grinned as the albino turned to find her friends gathered about her. Nagisa, Kayano and Shinso (who was clearly uncomfortable) stood gathered around her bathtub in some odd little procession.

"…You look like shit, 'Toshi" Toru grinned at the raccoon-eyed boy, shivering slightly as she shifted the mask lower to speak. Just beyond his shoulder she could glimpse specks of green, telling her that Midoriya occupied the bed there, because of course he did.

"Could say the same thing about you, Flashlight" Kayano smiled, "So much for Rule #27, eh?"

"Hehe~! Well, y'know me…" The albino laughed sheepishly as she slipped slightly below the water's edge in trying to sit upright.

"How're you feeling?" Kayano questioned, eyes roving over the tired form of the girl before her.

"F-fine—cold" Her stammer did not betray confidence. To her left, Shinso stood protectively next to her head, eyes roving over the albino with lips pulled downwards into a disapproving frown. That was okay though, Toru knew that Shinso meant well even if he looked like he was revving up for a lecture.

"Well, that's what you get for overusing your quirk like that" Recovery Girl bustled over, elbowing her way through the throng of teenagers to get to her patient. A thermometer was shoved into the albino's mouth, a wrinkled hand slapped to her forehead and an equally frosty stethoscope shoved against her chest as the old nurse muttered to herself about her status. It sounded like she was going to be okay. "How're you feeling, dear?"

"Good, just a little c-c-c…ACHOO!" Those gathered at the end of the bathtub had to quickly duck out of the way to avoid the lasers that suddenly shot from her eyes and pierced the rear wall. "Sorry"

"It's fine, dear" Recovery Girl shuffled back over to Midoriya as she brushed debris from her shoulder.

"What about him?" She nodded over to the blonde who was still fast asleep with Kendo beside him.

"He'll need to stay a bit longer"

"You sure did a number on him, Flashlight" Karma noted.

"I wasn't the only one" Toru sassed, wincing slightly at the twinge of healing sunburns that pulled when she moved.

"Now, out you get" Recovery Girl threw over her shoulder, pausing only slightly in her tirade against Midoriya & All Might, who stood at his head (and looked rather shocked at the twin holes in the wall).

With the check-up done, the boys were shooed out of the way and the curtain pulled between them so that Kayano could help Toru out of the bathtub and back into some dry clothes. Dressed once more in a pair of leggings and an orange IF LOST PLEASE RETURN TO HERO DEPARTMENT: 1-A t-shirt that Aizawa had made up for all of them, after nth time one of their class had gone walkabout and ended up shit's creek.

"So, what did I miss?" Toru asked, leaning her chin against Nagisa's shoulder as the snake-eyed boy gave her a piggyback towards the stands. Shinso had returned to his own classmates earlier, sparing a quick farewell to the invisible girl and thrusting a water bottle at her before he left.

"Well, after your firecracker of a showdown" Kayano replied, sweeping her two-toned hair off of her shoulder as the sounds of Recovery Girl's lecture followed them out. "Punch & Break fought Freezer Burn, and lost"

Freezer Burn must be Todoroki. Toru quietly translated, Which means Punch & Break is Midoriya.

"It was awesome!" Karma grinned, walking backwards in front of them. "Freezer Burn lit up like a firework!"

"Really? Roki used his fire?" Toru puzzled, "But he never does that!"

"Well, he does now" Kayano shrugged.

"Yeah, anyway then there was Top Gear"

"Iida?"

"Yeah, anyway, he won against Vines by just pushing her outta bounds"

"Is she really a hero student?" Nagisa puzzled as he readjusted his grip on the albino's thighs. "All she really did was pray the whole time—not like she did with Guy Fawkes"

"Mm" Toru hummed. When Kasai had fought the vine user, he had moved first and forced her to defend herself (rather well, mind you, but still). Still, the botanical girl had preached and prayed all the while and whilst everyone had their own oddities, such a religious zeal as that one might get her in trouble later on. It certainly got on your nerves rather quickly.

"Bird Brain beat Alien—" Kayano continued on.

Tokoyami and Mina. Toru quietly translated.

"—And Zero G. & Boomer were fighting the last we saw"

Ochako & Bakugou. Toru amended."What about mine?"

"Huh?"

"What about my match? What did they call it?"

"Oh! They called a draw. Bit disappointing, but what can you do?"

"Disappointing?"

"Y'know what I mean"

"Anyway, if we hurry, we can still catch the next bracket of battles!"

Slotted in behind Bakugou and Kirishima, Toru slumped back against her seat as she sipped at her bottle of water. She'd been greeted rather cheerfully by her classmates when she'd arrived, he old junior high friends having slipped from view when they had approached the nosebleeds section, reserved for the first years. Wanting a bit of peace and quiet, the albino had chosen this particular spot because of two specific reasons: 1) no one in their right mind would dare to approach the explosive blonde on a good day and 2) guard dog Bakugou knew that he was the centre of everyone's attention (mostly from the war declaration at the beginning of the festival and his resulting battle against Ochako which had cemented that idea).

The sound of her classmates' chatter flittered through her ears as Toru shifted so she could watch the rest of the fights play out through slitted eyes. First up was Kaminari versus Shiozaki, and much like the fight with Kasai, the golden-haired boy moved first in an attempt to get the upper hand. A fair amount of prayer fell from the girl's lips to the point that it was almost a ceaseless murmur, like a spell. In the end, the botanical girl was able to encase the electric user in a ball of thorny vines at the same time Kaminari had tried to shock the girl. She walked off scot-free and the blonde flopped about all loopy.

She must've fallen asleep at one point though, because the next time she peeled her eyes open, she found Kaminari—loopy from the overuse of his quirk—was sat next to her and the two had formed a sort-of puppy pile in their inebriated states. Ochako looked like the cat that got the cream as she snapped a picture or two of the pair, with a promise to share them with Koda, who like to scrapbook. Toru felt like she should've been more annoyed with her antics, but she still rather tired and turned to watch the remaining matches instead.

Iida and Hatsume Mei (a student from the first year Support class, whose inventions or 'babies' that Midoriya was always going on about) were up next. Decked out from head-to-toe in mechanical combat gear, the mechanic proudly displayed her wares to the audience and in turn, any businesses that might be watching. It was a smart move, using the match as her own little commercial (complete with unwilling demonstrations from Iida), particularly as the Sports Festival was broadcast worldwide. In the end, however, Iida won as he grew frustrated and simply hefted the mechanic to push her out of bounds.

Next was Tokoyami (and Dark Shadow) and Momo. Momo, still shaken from her ordeal at the USJ, found that her confidence had been knocked down a peg or two. Something which you could easily see as she overthought on what to make before simply settling for a large brass shield and lance. Dark Shadow didn't even blink as he swatted her away, Tokoyami taking the win as easy as taking candy from a baby. Their poor Vice looked so downtrodden at her loss as well.

Kirishima fought against Tetsutetsu in a battle of wills (much like Monoma and Toru) because of their similarity between their quirks. Where one boy could harden his exterior into pointy and sharp edges, the other could take on the facade of iron, making him a force to be reckoned with. Their match was the second draw of the day (after much upheaval of the arena), but unlike hers their draw was ultimately decided through a game of arm wrestling, which still resulted in a fair amount of damage to the environment around them.

After that, Toru couldn't hold back the heavy feeling of her lids slamming shut and with the warm body wrapped around her, she slipped back into the easy arms of sleep. Silently, she promised to get a copy of that picture or to get Ochako back for taking said picture, y'know, whichever came first.
