Author's Note: I am quite sorry that I disappeared for a long time. There was problems and things going on in my personal life that prevented me from fanfiction for a while. I'm glad to say I'm back though! Well, enough about that, onto the story! Also, warning that this chapter will have a little bit of swearing (minor).

Marinette walked through the newly repaired streets of Paris, the moonlight streaming throughout the city at every crack. Although the streets were barren, she felt like she was being watched. She swore that she saw an emerald cat's eyes peering at her out of an alley.

Marinette kept walking, chatting a bit with Tikki. The streetlights made it a peaceful scene as Marinette headed to the bakery. She found the walk quiet, far too quiet. Marinette started to hurry along, knowing that she would be most likely be nicked at this time of night.

Suddenly, just when she was around the block of her home, a metal stick stopped her. A silver baton with a certain lime pawprint, to be exact.

"W-What?!" Marinette stumbled backwards, falling to the sidewalk.

"Hello, Marinette, or rather, Ladybug." Chat Noir smirked, his green eyes filled with smugness as he took his baton and stood in a battle stance.

"I'm not Ladybug! I was Multimouse, remember?" Marinette said nervously, her bluebell eyes darting in panic.

"I remember clearly. I know how you pulled it off. Using the fox miraculous was very clever of you Bugaboo." Chat Noir chuckled, just like this was some friendly conversation.

Marinette didn't know what to do. She looked around for an escape, but there was none except for one, one she did not want to use.

"I swear I am not Ladybug! I don't even have the same earrings! Mine are black but she has red ones!" Marinette knew it wasn't a good excuse, but it was the only one she had.

"Stop trying to lie to me Mari. You aren't a very good liar, you know that?" Chat Noir said to her, lifting her off the ground and pulling her up.

Marinette attempted to kick Chat, trying desperately to escape.

"Hey! Play nice Marinette. You aren't transformed right now, and I think you wouldn't want to know the rather sad aftermath done to the human body if I were to cataclysm it." Chat Noir laughed like a mad man, said black destructive energy appearing in his hand.

Marinette stopped fighting immediately. If Chat Noir were to cataclysm her, there would be no guardian to watch over the Miraculous. And no one to protect the city against Hawkmoth.

Marinette nodded as he smirked. Chat Noir put her down, using cataclysm on the nearby streetlight. She shuddered, as it could have been her if she would have ignored him.

"Now I need you to do something for me Milady. I want you to pretend to be dating me, Chat Noir, as Marinette. It's a small price to pay for your life and the Miraculouses."

She nodded, eyes looking back at the beeping ring on his hand. She could easily slip that off if she was Ladybug. She could slip it off now as Marinette, but it was risky.

As they approached the bakery, her parents burst out. They kissed her cheek repeatedly and wrapped her in a big hug before they noticed Chat Noir right behind her.

"Hello Mrs. Cheng and Mr. Dupain! I noticed Marinette wandering on the streets and I thought to bring her to you!" Chat smiled, bowing and then looking at Marinette tauntingly. It's almost like he wants me to rip his face off.

"Thank you, Chat Noir. You may leave now," Mr. Dupain replied coolly, still not fully trusting the hero from the Weredad incident.

Chat Noir nodded and put on a strained smile. "Goodbye!" Chat Noir saluted and went up to the rooftops with his baton. Bastard.

After a long hour of scolding from her parents, she was finally able to go to bed. Tomorrow, was going to be a long and exhausting day.

When Marinette had fallen asleep, she had nightmares. Horrid ones. The class destroying her special sketchbook with Lila laughing nearby, becoming an akuma and turning in all the Miraculous from the Miracle Box, and then they were the ones with Chat. No longer was he akumatized, it was just his regular self. Except, he antagonized her at every turn. He would cataclysm her parents and laugh, saying she would never escape him. And he took Tikki away from her, trapping her in a dark corner. He laughed insanely as he summoned his cataclysm and poked it at her chest. Marinette felt the agonizing pain as she slowly disintegrated into ash, the last thing she saw was Chat laughing at her misery as sobs racked through her chest.

She woke up screaming, quickly brushing against her hands against her earlobes. She still found the earrings there, luckily. And then Marinette heard it. The tapping on her window. The sweet, psychotic smile. The one and only cat in black leather, Chat Noir.

End Note: So, uh, I'm back. Sorry for the wait. I have a treat though, to make up for it. There is a new one-shot posted on my profile called "The Start of Something New." It's a JulekaxRose fanfiction that I started quite a while ago but finished recently. I hope you guys enjoy it! Have a great day/night everyone!- Mrs. Nimeing
