Chapter 3

Chuck grabbed her hand and kissed her cheek making Ellie, Devon and Morgan stretch their necks to see what was happening. "What's going on? Who's that girl?" Ellie wanting to know who had her brother's interests. Chuck looked at Sarah. "I see that we have eagle eyes on us."

"Yeah, I see that too."

Chuck and Sarah watched as the three walked shoulder to shoulder towards them. Ellie eyeing the blonde while Devon smiled, and Morgan tried not to picture her in some comic fantasy. Chuck smiled at Sarah. "You ready?"

"I am."

Chuck looked at his sister first. "Ellie, I would love to introduce to you Ms. Sarah Walker. Sarah this is my sister Ellie Bartowski soon to be Ellie Woodcomb."

Ellie looked the blonde over, and she wasn't Jill who suited her just fine. Ellie extended her hand. "Nice to meet you."

Sarah shook her hand and smiled. "Sarah this is Devon Woodcomb – soon to be brother-in-law and this is my best friend, Morgan Grimes."

"Nice to meet you, Sarah." Devon smiling a big smile.

"Ms. Sarah." As Morgan grabbed her hand and kissed it.

"That's enough Morgan." Chuck breaking up Morgan's grip.

"So, Sarah what do you do and how did you two meet." Ellie looking at Sarah.

Chuck looked at her as what she would say that would answer all her questions.

"I am a Diplomatic linguistic accountant?"

"A what?" Morgan looking at her.

"I know that the name is complicated, but I work for the government basically translating business accounts with and for foreign transactions."

"Wow, impressive?" Devon admiring the title.

"I wouldn't said that. I do a lot of travelling so that's where I met Chuck."

"You met Chuck in Europe?" Ellie continuing the interrogation.

"Yeah." She smiled at him. "I was sitting in a café when I had my purse taken and Chuck was there to get it back for me and we have been talking since."

"You met her in…"

Chuck butted in. "Paris actually. I was heading home in a few days, so I thought that I'd head to Paris and..."

"I was in the café grabbing something to eat after the worse meeting of my career and there he was. He got my purse back and we made plans to meet the next day before my flight left, and we have been talking through email since and I actually got called to come out here to work so I called him."

"I like her, Chuck."

Chuck looked at his sister. "Good."

"Sarah, can I show you around?"

"Sure."

"Excuse us."

Chuck almost pushed her away from his sister, Devon, and Morgan. They walked the store ending up at the coffee bar. Sarah looked at the coffee bags leaning up against the wall. Chuck walked up to her. "Our coffee?"

"Yeah, I bought like six bags. And I have their number if I want some more."

He grabbed one and gave it to her. "To remember Paris."

Sarah smiled and snuck a kiss.

"So, your story was."

"I know, but it's better to tell the truth some what than to tell a lie because telling a lie you have to remember the lie and it can get complicated. By telling them some of the truth, your story is believable and there would be less questions asked. Plus, I didn't think telling her that I was a spy would make her feel any different."

"Yeah, she's a bit over-protective."

"You don't say."

Chuck sat down with Sarah and Ellie while Devon and Morgan grabbed another piece of cake.

"That was a lovely speech, Chuck."

"Thanks sis, I can't believe that this day is here."

Devon and Morgan sat down as the store was getting quiet. "Good turn out."

"Yeah, it was."

"Now, Chuck Sarah can do your books." Devon looking at him.

Chuck heard what Devon said and chuckled. "I don't think that my little shop would compare to what she is used to."

"Well, he hasn't asked but if he does, I would gladly help him with his finances."

Sarah smiled at him. Ellie looked at the two. She saw that they had a look that they gave each other, and it wasn't a look that he had for Jill. This was something more and she couldn't be happier for her little brother. Ellie got up. "We better go." Devon looked up. "I'm not done my piece of cake."

Ellie gave a look at Devon. Chuck got up and hugged his sister. "Thanks for coming, have fun at work."

"I will."

Ellie turned towards Sarah. "It was nice to meet you."

"It was nice to meet you as well."

Ellie grabbed her boyfriend and headed out.

Morgan looked at Chuck. "She's something bro."

"Yeah, she is, and you need to head back to work. I think that you have exceeded all of your breaks."

"Yeah, I guess I better head back."

Morgan smiled at Sarah as he left the building grabbing a few more pieces of cake on his way out.

Sarah watched as he headed out.

"He'll be back especially if there is free food."

Sarah turned to face Chuck. "Speaking of work. I better go."

"Do I come?"

"No, if we need you, I know where to find you."

"Okay I'll come by after work. Burgers?"

"Why not, we have done Chinese, Pizza." Sarah smiled as Chuck brought her close. "Thanks for coming."

"I wouldn't have missed it for the world."

Chuck kissed her as her toes curled again. She reached down and grabbed the bag of coffee from Paris and headed back to Castle.

Sarah hadn't seen Chuck for a few days, and he always texted her back but with all that was going on with his new business, Castle meetings they were like two ships in the night. They snuck a few kisses here and there, but their other stuff took a back seat. Chuck finished up at A.C.E and headed over to Castle as Casey was heading up the stairs. "She's downstairs and she's in one of her moods. Good luck." Chuck turned to face the top of the stairs. "What happened?"

"We got our first mission and she's not happy to leave. I'm guessing because of you."

Chuck didn't like the way Casey said it.

"I'll be back later then we are off." Casey closed the door as Chuck headed into the inner sanctum of Castle. He saw Sarah packing up large plastic cases with gear. "Hey?"

Sarah noticed him but kept busy. Chuck sat down but that didn't stop her from not working. He got up and grabbed her hands. "Hello?"

Sarah looked up knowing that there were cameras, so she subtly motioned for him to join her. Sarah took him aside to a small conference room and unhooked the feed from the camera in the corner of the room. She fell into his arms. "Casey told me that you're going on a mission?"

Sarah looked up at him as she pushed his jacket off then went for his belt. "Sarah we can't?"

He looked at her as she continued. He kissed her then lifted her onto the steel looking table as he slipped her top off and laid her down. He used his jacket as a make-shift pillow allowing her head to lay on it as he laid over her kissing her exposed skin as he met her lips. He wanted answers and she wanted to give him some but right now that didn't matter. Sarah rolled Chuck onto his back as he looked at her. She looked different, it felt different as if this could be their last time. He noticed that she was silent even when he sat up and allowed her to wrap her legs around him. She stared at him as they sat embracing their time together. He held her body close, then grabbed his jacket and covered her up with it. "Maybe we should get dressed."

She looked up at him, then kissed him bringing him closer to her even though he was as close as he could get.

Sarah eventually got up and grabbed her clothes allowing Chuck to get up and get the feeling back in his legs. He didn't want to say anything to her. Sarah slipped her underwear and jeans on and grabbed her t shirt and slipped it on. Chuck grabbed his clothes and got dressed. Sarah grabbed his jacket and slipped it on. Chuck smiled. "Beckman wants us to go on a mission to follow up on one of your leads."

"Well, that's a good thing, right?"

"It is but…I don't want to leave you?"

"It's just a mission right, your usually in and out and in no time you'll be home."

Sarah plugged in the camera and headed out. "It's not that easy, Chuck. Yeah, it sounds awesome and all Hollywood, but we don't know what or where it is going to lead us. Or whether the lead is safe or not. Or…"

Chuck grabbed her just before they reached the main room, and he knew that there weren't cameras. He kissed her. "Then I will come with you."

Sarah shook her head. "We can't take that chance."

"So, you rather leave me here where I have no one watching me than take me with you and where you can continue to be my bodyguard."

Chuck looked at her with his brown eyes as he did this eyebrow dance that made her smile every time.

"You can't leave your job?"

"It's the weekend and I can have Morgan watch the place for me."

Sarah liked the idea of having him with her, but they had to run it past Beckman.

"That's right General, having Chuck with us might be best at this point. Plus, we don't know who or what could happen while we are gone."

Beckman looked at the two as Casey walked in. "Very well, Mr. Bartowski can tag along."

Chuck and Sarah heard a grunt. "Well, that didn't take long."

"Team, you leave at midnight."

"Yes General."

"Well, I don't know what you said to convince her but it's not the worst idea." Casey left as Sarah grabbed Chuck's hand. "I better call Morgan and pack."

"I better go with you."

Chuck smiled. He grabbed his phone. "Hey buddy, I was wondering if you would like to watch ACE for me for the weekend? Sarah and I got tickets to head to San Diego and…Great. Yeah…. you know the code, the drill…. you should be fine…. thanks buddy…. bye."

Sarah met him at the stairs. "You good?"

"Yeah, but I don't know where we are going?"

Sarah gave him a passport. Chuck opened it. "Charles Carmichael?"

"Yeah, easy to remember but elegant."

"And when did you have this made?"

"There's lots that you don't know. We better get you packed."

Chuck drove Sarah to her place as she ran upstairs to grab a bag then they headed to Echo park and as he unlocked his door, he started asking Sarah questions on what to bring knowing that they had a short window. She disappeared somewhere. He kept asking her questions as he grabbed a bag to pack, but his inquiries went unanswered. He walked back to his room, and she wasn't there. He walked to the bathroom and heard the shower. He opened the door and watched her in all her beauty. "Babe we got to pack, at least I do."

"Now Chuck." As Sarah turned to face him.

Chuck didn't have to be asked twice. He quickly got out of his clothes and entered the steamed filled shower. His lips pressing on hers. "Do we have time?"

"We will make time."

They showered quickly then Chuck carried her to the bed and laid her down. They were primed and ready to go. Chuck laid her down and embraced their closeness which felt better lying with her on cotton sheets than on a cold steel table. Sarah laid her leg over his lower body then ran her fingers over his chest. Chuck laid his arm under his head and held her close with the other. "So where are we going?"

"We had that lead that you gave Casey in Copenhagen. From what we got since then is was some chatter that has the McCutcheon enterprises still moving product. Which is not what their export side says."

"So, they could be importing?"

"Maybe or its more than a front. So that is why we need to head there in person."

Sarah looked up at the clock. "We better go." She rolled on top making it hard for Chuck to move. She kissed him which didn't help move things along in which would get them dressed. Chuck rolled her onto her back. Sarah laid back as Chuck and her started all over again.

Chuck got up as Sarah laid there catching her breath. Ten minutes later Chuck walked back into the room. "You better move Walker." Sarah rolled onto her stomach and watched Chuck get dressed and pack. "What do I bring?"

Sarah leaned on her elbows. "Casual, fall wear, maybe some dress clothes. Chuck grabbed his outfit that she had bought him and carefully placed it into his garment bag and grabbed his sports bag and tossed the rest into it. Sarah eventually got up but not before she got a kiss from Chuck. Sarah showered and got dressed. She looked for her shirt but couldn't find it, so she went into one of his drawers and pulled out one of his t shirts and put it on. Chuck came in and saw what she was wearing. "I couldn't find my shirt; I hope you don't mind?"

Chuck walked up to her. "It looks better on you."

Sarah looked at the British shirt and grabbed her jeans. They grabbed a quick bite and headed back to Castle catching their flight shortly after midnight. Chuck sat down and buckled up. "So, we should arrive there around six p.m. local time."

"About there." Sarah looked at him.

The flight took off into the dark sky as Casey and Sarah worked for a few hours coming up with a plan and Chuck overlooking over the newest intel. Casey got up and found a spot near the front to catch a nap as Chuck got up and sat beside Sarah at the back of the jet. He grabbed her hand. "We better get some sleep."

"Yeah, we should. Chuck, you need to be ready for anything. Promise me that you will wear a vest at all times?"

Sarah squeezed his hand. "I can't have anything happen to you."

Chuck kissed her hand. "I promise."

Sarah leaned her head on his shoulder as Chuck kissed the top of her head. Both their eyes fell, heavy as they succumbed to sleep.

Copenhagen 24 hours earlier

The rain fell putting an end to the sunny day but even if with the unexpected rain shower, they wouldn't stop. The stranger looked around the room seeing all the bodies, despite a few bruises and cuts he was okay. "How did they find me?"

He grabbed the files and the small hard drive that housed all the files he uploaded or actually stole from the DNI. He figured that they would know by now and that they would be checking everyone he knew and had any connection with. He hoped that they wouldn't go after Chuck. He was the only person that he didn't want associated with this whole thing, that is why he left during their second year. But the promises he made, he hoped that it wouldn't come to that, and they wouldn't find other ways to get what he had. They agreed that if all failed, he would be the one to take the call and not Chuck. And so far, neither of them so far was put into that position. He took one last look at the bodies and left.

Sarah woke up with a smile on her face, as she just had the best dream ever. And when she looked to see the strong back of the man, she had just dreamt about made her heart swell. She rubbed his back as he was leaning forward. She sat up and saw that he was looking at the file. "Have you been up long?"

"No not really. Did you sleep?"

"I must have, was a bit tired."

Chuck looked over his shoulder. "I wonder why?"

Sarah slid her arm inside his. "Have you found anything?"

"Just been looking at some chatter. I read the transcripts but if we could hear maybe we can get a better idea of the setting?"

Sarah leaned over and grabbed the laptop. She opened it and opened the file. "I need to go to the bathroom." She kissed him as he looked at her. He watched her walk to the front of the jet then looked back down at the file and opened it. He turned the volume up but struggled to hear. He grabbed his bag and pulled out a set of headphones and plugged them in. He turned up the volume and held the set closer to his ears. He jotted down times on the feed that he wanted to hear better. Sarah came and sat down carrying some water bottles. Chuck took his headphones off. "I think I got something. The dialogue was of two guys, and they were talking about a guy who had something that they wanted."

"Yes and?"

"I think that there was someone else in the room. How old is this intel?"

Sarah looked up. "About a day or so old, that is why we are heading there." Casey sat down. "Why?"

"Chuck thinks that there was another guy there."

Chuck unplugged his headphones and started up the file, then he opened the sound file and played with the equalizer. "Sorry that it has to be so loud but listen here." Chuck played the file. Casey and Sarah listened. "Don't hear anything."

Chuck moved the bass line. Then played it again. Casey shook his head. "Try not to listen to the conversation but the other stuff."

Sarah watched and listened and now knew why Professor Fleming was so interested in Chuck. He had a gift and Sarah was starting to see it. She wondered what else, was he able to do and what would this mission show them. Chuck removed the bass then increased the treble. "I hear breathing."

"Exactly. Someone else was there and set this up? Whoever this third person is he I'm assuming set it up and either forgot about it or had to leave quickly. But how did the CIA get the recording?"

Sarah looked at Casey. "We had our analysts watch for anything after you, Chuck gave us the name McCutcheon and anything to do with Copenhagen and this came through yesterday. Our analysts heard the guys talking and created the transcripts but never thought to listen to the conversation this in depth."

"Maybe this third guy didn't know that they place was bugged?"

Chuck looked at Sarah as Chuck continued to play it. They got to the end. "Is that gun fire?" Chuck looked at Sarah then at Casey then got really nervous as the pilot came on. "We land in 10 minutes."

Casey got up and grabbed his gear and found his seat and buckled up. Sarah looked at Chuck. "You did good. Remember what you promised."

Chuck looked at her and faked a smile. 'Maybe coming here was a bad idea after all.' He thought to himself.
