"Light and darkness co-exist. Two sides of the same coin. You can't just get rid of one side."

"What if we could, though?"

Vanitas was sick and tired of light screwing him up. When was a normal-ish life with the opportunity to gain needed strength again going to be on the cards? Soon, since light gave him one more blasted chance.

Sora broke so many laws of nature to bring his friends back together. As such, he was shoved into a different world with no way to get back home. Friends out of reach, but new ones in grasping reach. And by Kingdom Hearts he was going to help out a familiar face.

UA seemed like the perfect cover for them, solving all their problems. Until it didn't.

After all, light hates darkness, and darkness hates light. Destiny was inevitable.

Chapter 5- Your Knees Start to Tremble

Sora wandered around the streets, taking in the sights. The people walking was just as strange as the people in the previous district, some had mutations, some had extra limbs, and some looked completely normal. Sora, over the few days that he had been in this new world, had begun to get used to the bizarre looks of the population. He had also gotten used to the looks people had been giving him. More than once, someone came up to him and asked if he was a hero. All he could do was say that he was a Junior Hero, since Phill never did grant him a true hero, say his name was Sora, and continue on his way.

He could not believe how large this world was. Not only had he been walking for several days now, but he also only covered a small distance on the map that he found at a tourist's office. He had been following the main roads to get to Musutafu, but even then, it had taken a lot longer than Sora thought it would. He had a few naps in between journeys, of course, but Sora was starting to get tired.

He was also getting homesick, but that was a different story.

But Sora was nearly at Musutafu, and soon he would be able to find Vanitas, and help him with his problems. It would be nice to see a familiar face too.

Sora stopped in his tracks. He smelt in the air saltiness, just like the ocean. The wind was slightly stronger too. As it messed up his spiky peaks, he ran with a massive goofy grin on his face. He was rewarded with soft sand underneath his shoes, warm and soothing. Gentle blue waves crashed against the sand, making white patterns on the sand. The sun shone on the quiet beach, and a seagull squawked overhead.

Sora laughed in joy as he felt just a little bit less homesick. He flicked his black shoes off and felt the sand underneath his toes. He ran into the water, feet submerged, and span around without a care in the world. He splashed in the water for a while, before wading his way back to dry land. He lay down on the sand and closed his eyes. It would be ok for him to relax a little, right?

His body became heavy, and for the first time since he had come to that world, he was content.

Izuku jogged around Musutafu to keep up his stamina. He had already completed most of his training for the day, but he wanted to clear some rubbish that he had spotted on Musutafu Beach. It would make for a good cool down and would help get his mind off the incoming exams. The written and practical was both tomorrow, and although Midoriya was fairly confident for the written (he had been cramming earlier that day) he was nervous for the practical. Sure, it was just going to be robots like the Entrance Exam, but Midoriya felt that the teachers would pull a twist and make it hard.

Midoriya realized he had reached Musutafu beach and took a deep breath of salty air. He smiled at the pretty beach which thanks to his hard work, was mostly free of trash and rubbish. He pulled out a disposable bag and jogged down to the beach, only to be surprised that someone was napping on the sand. The boy had spiky brown hair which reminded him bitterly of Vanitas and wore a black and red plaid jacket with black trousers. He wore a black V-neck top underneath and fingerless gloves too. His outfit, although looking normal enough, was strange. It felt as if something about it was off, that it was maybe magical. But Midoriya convinced himself it was just a hero costume that he had not seen before.

Now that he thought about it, Vanitas' outfit gave the same vibe too…

Midoriya had spent another day trying to find Vanitas, but he was nowhere to be found. He was not underneath the cherry blossom trees, nor near UA or even at the train station. It was as if he had melted into the shadows. It was also hard to look for him too when there were more and more frequent villain attacks in the area. All of them were by the same villain, whose quirk people figured was to summon these creatures- the media had started to dub them the Pointed Hearts, for they all carried a logo which looked like that. Except the creatures that Midoriya had spotted with Vanitas, they did not seem to have them.

The boy slowly opened his eyes, groaning. "Who's muttering?"

Midoriya quickly put his hands over his mouth, apologizing repeatedly. "I didn't mean to interrupt your nap or anything, I'm sorry!"

The boy sat up and shook some sand out of his spiky hair. "Don't worry about it. What's your name?"

"I-Izuku Midoriya, first year at UA."

The boy frowned at the mention of UA, but he did not comment on it. "Well, I'm Sora, nice to meet you."

"No last name?" Just like Vanitas… they are definitely related somehow.

"Um, well I used to live in a really far away island where we did not have last names so…" Sora stumbled to explain.

"Huh, ok. By any chance, do you know anyone named Vanitas? You look identical to him, and he also did not have a last name either."

"Vanitas?!" Sora practically jumped into the air. "Yeah, I know him pretty well. I think we are brothers…? It's complicated. Where did you last see him?"

Midoriya looked down in shame. "Well, um… a few days ago, I took him to see UA. I found him wandering around my neighbourhood and wanted to help him out. He just seemed so sad. But once we got off the train, he freaked out. I asked him what his quirk was and then… I- I haven't found him since."

"Hey, it's not your fault. You were just trying to help out. Vanitas… he's had a tough life. He doesn't really know what kindness is. Thank you." Sora grinned and put his hands behind his head.

"It's what a hero would do. I came here to litter pick; do you want to join me? You don't have to of course."

"Sure! I don't think I would be able to find Vanitas currently anyway."

Midoriya handed Sora a litter picker and a bag as the two began to tidy the beach. Idle conversation was made, and while Midoriya was describing UA life, Sora perked up. However, it was mostly one sided. Midoriya knew hardly anything about Sora, though he was participating in the conversation.

"If you don't mind me asking, what's your quirk?"

Sora stopped. It seemed like Sora was trying to figure out what a quirk was. Midoriya was about to apologize about asking when Sora responded.

"My quirk, huh? Well, I like to summon different elements. Fire, water, ice, all that jazz. Can't produce too much of it at once though, and it takes a while to learn how to summon more."

"That's really cool! It would be really useful if you were a hero. You would be able to adapt to many different situations and it would be perfect for rescue operations! Never mind if you wanted to use it for offense, you could also have a perfect defence too. But you can only summon so many elements, so for drawn out fights, you would be at a big disadvantage."

"Woah there. A little overboard with the analysis. But yeah, you're right. It's pretty handy in a fight." Sora chuckled as he stabbed another piece of rubbish. He seemed adept at using the litter picker.

"You've been in a fight? Are you training to be a hero too?"

"I…guess? I'm not really sure what I'm doing most of the time in life. I let my heart guide me."

Now it was Midoriya's turn to frown. "'Your heart guide you?'"

"Yeah," Sora placed a hand on his heart. "'May your heart be your guiding key'. Someone said that to me once and it hasn't let me down yet. It led me to meet you today."

"So, following your emotions than your brain… huh." Midoriya muttered to himself.

"It's getting late. I'm sure your mum is going to worry about you soon."

"Huh? Oh, yeah."

The sun was beginning to set, setting the beach into an orange glow. The water turned pink and red, with highlights of the blazing sun peeking into view every now and then. The beach was now as spotless as it should be, no rubbish in sight.

"Do you want me to carry that bag for you? It looks like you're struggling with it. I could even drop it into the recycling centre for you if you tell me where it is." Sora offered.

"No, it's ok. It's good training-"

"You've been training all day. I don't mind." Sora hefted the second bag over his shoulder with ease as he walked away. Midoriya gawked a little before running to catch up with him.

Midoriya would realise later that for the first time, he could have fun while training.

Detective Tsukauchi sighed wearily as he entered a clothes shop that had been recently burgled in. The alarms did not sound, but CCTV camera picked up unusual activity and it automatically sent a message to the shop owner. The shop owner then reported it in.

Tsukauchi began to look through the crime scene to see what was missing. It seemed most things were left untouched, and to the casual looker, it would seem that the call-in was a mistake. But Tsukauchi had a gut feeling that something happened here. He walked over to the Male section and lifted his camera. There, he spotted, was a few clothes hung limply on a hanger, slightly crinkled too. He snapped a few pictures of the evidence, as well as an empty hanger. He was about to go back and inform his co-workers when something caught the corner of his eye.

Tsukauchi cautiously walked in the direction that the thing caught his eye went. His hand went to his gun on his hip. He slowly rounded the corner into the storage area of the shop. It had rows of metal shelves filled with boxes of clothes and hangers. Perfect for anyone to hide in. Tsukauchi saw what caught his eye and watched.

One of the so-called 'Pointed Hearts' was busy trying to drag a hoodie three times its size. It tripped over itself at one point, tumbling rather cutely down. Tsukauchi knew better though. The Pointed Hearts were absolutely vicious and the farthest thing you could call tame. A male voice echoed nearby, deep but young.

"Fine. Go on and help it."

Tsukauchi lifted his gun out of the holster and began to systematically check in between each shelf. The Pointed Heart had disappeared from him, but he could hear multiple chirpings nearby. A sign that whoever was here had used his quirk to summon more creatures. A few minutes stretched into eternity, as Tsukauchi began to get anxious. His hands stayed steady.

"I don't know either. Look, just get me a pair of shoes that will work. Put that back, I'm not wearing a flowy thing out of combat."

He spoke into his communicator quietly. "Requesting backup. Reason to suspect Villain who summons Pointed Hearts is here. Currently in storage facility at back of shop."

"Understood. Coming now." A muffled voice replied, possibly from his colleague, Sansa Tamakawa.

Tsukauchi rounded a corner and spotted the back of a young boy conferring with the Pointed Hearts. He was wearing the stolen clothes, price tags still attached. He had chosen black jeans and a dark red hoodie, which he quickly put the hood up on. Tsukauchi could not see his hair, for what looked to be a helmet covered his entire head. A swirling black portal was in front of him, and it filled Tsukauchi with dread. It looked very similar to the one Kurogiri used at the USJ. Could this young boy be with the League of Villains? If so, why did they go to so much trouble to rob a clothes store?

"Put your hands up in the air where I can see them!" Tsukauchi aimed his gun at the Villain's back.

He simply chuckled. "Na. Don't think so. What are you s'posed to be?"

"Police detective. Now, I'm sure we can help you out if you-"

"Ah. Cool. Well, gotta go. You're annoying the darkness out of me."

And just like that, he ran into the portal. It closed behind him just as Tsukauchi reached it.

"Damn it!" He updated the officers before calling the principal of UA, Nezu.

Xerayn's Notes 5-

Hey, no time no see. I seriously apologize for the gap between updates, but, well, my life has been pretty chaotic recently. I had exams which took up way more time and effort than I was expecting, and that lasted for about two weeks. I also had to do an animation for my Moving Images class, which I drew about 400 frames in 4 weeks. With all that, I had very little free time in general, as well as having to keep up with my usual activities. Things are only just starting to calm down for me, but it is still tough. I'm feeling trash with a cold and having bad cramps as well as worrying for my friend's health, who went into hospital today.

So yeah, I apologize. I tried to make it up with a double length chapter though. Updates should be more regular, as I am actually doing things I like now, so this hopefully won't happen again. UA just happened to not fit into this chapter, but it is coming soon. I've figured out a lot of stuff about what's going to happen next too. I hope you are all enjoying this!

(Oh, and here's the link to the animation if you are curious. It's my original story and my ocs watch?v=5hc9DzkMmL4)
