Authors Note: First, if you made it this far, thank you. Second, sorry for the grammar in chapter 1, I was originally writing it in first person before I put it in third person so there is a lot of parts saying 'my' instead of 'he' or 'him'.

Dalyn Hughes: It's Izuku telling the story of how he became a vigilante after he got caught.

(2 years later)

Izuku's life changed after society found out he was quirkless. Teachers ignored him, his friends turned their backs on him, and his father just seemed to stop caring for him. The only person that still cared for him was his mother. Whenever he got home with cuts, bruises, or burns his mother was always there to help with his wounds and tell him that everything will be alright.

His father barely talks to him anymore. Actually, he barely even comes home at the time he usually does. Sometimes he hears his parents scream at each other when they think he went to bed.

Izuku was currently at the playground because his mother wanted out of the house. She said she wanted him to get some fresh air and have fun but, it felt like there was something else on her mind. He decided not to think too much about it and chose to ride on the swings.

Izuku liked the swings. Swinging through the air, the wind blowing through his hair, and seeing how high he could get. Whenever he rode on the swings he felt like he was in his own little world. It was the only time he felt like he had a quirk.

*KABOOM*

And when he reached a moment of peace, HE had to come and ruin it.

Katsuki Bakugo, his former best friend.

Bakugo has ash-blonde hair with sharp red eyes. He also has a powerful quirk called Explosion- Due to his sweat being nitroglycerin he's able to shoot explosions from his hands.

"What are you doing here Deku?" Bakugo asked, using the nickname he came up for Izuku as another way to call him useless.

"J-j-just riding the s-s-s-swings is all," Izuku said rubbing his back due to the explosion.

"You know useless trash like you isn't allowed to ride on the swings when I'm around, you know that right," Bakugo told Izuku.

"S-s-s-sorry Kacchan," Izuku said using the nickname he made for Bakugo, "I d-d-didn't k-know you were h-h-here."

"You didn't know I was here?" Questioned Bakugo who was starting to get irritated with Izuku's stuttering.

"Y-yeah, s-s-sor-"

*KABOOM*

Izuku never got to finish his apology as Bakugo shot an explosion in his face.

"YOU FUCKING LEARN TO KNOW WHEN I'M AROUND GOT IT!" Bakugo seethed "I AM GOING TO BE THE FUTURE NUMBER 1 HERO AND TRASH LIKE YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN I'M AROUND! GOT IT!"

*KABOOM*

Bakugo shot another explosion at Izuku.

"Why do you have to be so mean," Izuku said with tears in his eyes. "The future number 1 hero would never do something like this."

"SHUT UP AND TAKE THE PUNISHMENT OF NOT KNOWING WHEN THE FUTURE NUMBER 1 IS IN THE AREA!" Bakugo screamed getting ready to shoot another explosion at Izuku.

Izuku closed his eyes bracing himself for the explosion to hit him.

*KAbo-*

Izuku opened his eyes when he heard the explosion die out. What he saw left him speechless. In front of him was Bakugo slowly moving his hand forward with an explosion building up in his palm.

"What is going on?" Izuku wondered. "Is someone using their quirk to slow down time or is it-"

*-oM*

Izuku's thoughts were interrupted when Bakugo's explosion hit him in the face, knocking him down onto the ground.

"Tch" Bakugo sounded as he turned to leave the playground.

"I have a quirk," Izuku said happily.

He couldn't believe it, he has a quirk. Now maybe people will treat him like a person again.

'Maybe teachers will start helping me with school work, maybe Kacchan will be my friend again, maybe mom doesn't have to worry for me, and maybe dad will be my friend again,' he wondered as he raced back home.

He stopped dead in his tracks as he had one last thought, 'How do I activate my quirk?'

(Line Break)

Instead of going home, Izuku ran towards the woods to do some experiments. He wanted to make sure he actually knows how his quirk works first. He walked past trees, plowed through bushes, and avoided poison ivy until he found an open field.

"This place is perfect to test out my quirk," Izuku said out loud. "Now, think back to when my quirk activated."

"I was at the playground, riding the swings, Kacchan came, hit me with three explosions, then he went to hit me again and I closed my eyes, then time seemed to slow down," Izuku mumbled as he retraced what happened.

"So if I want to activate my quirk I need to recreate the last few moments I had with Kacchan today."

So Izuku began to work.

He first went to get materials in the woods around him. He grabbed some rocks, a stick, and a branch that fell from the trees.

"Now I might not be able to recreate Kacchans explosions but, maybe I can use these rocks to recreate the sound of an explosion."

After saying those words he closed his eyes then struck the two rocks together.

*crack*

He opened his eyes then chucked a rock, only for the rock to land at a normal speed.

"Maybe it wasn't loud enough."

This time he put a rock on a stump and picked up a stick. He closed his eyes and brought down all his strength in one swing.

*CRACK*

He opened his eyes and threw the stick but, it still fell at a normal speed.

"I guess it probably wasn't loud enough for my brain to register as an explosion. Let's try it again but with the branch this time," Izuku said with a little desperation in his voice.

Izuku picked up a rock and the branch. He took a deep breath, tossed the rock in the air, then closed his eyes. And with a swing of the branch.

*CRACK*

Izuku cracked open his eyes hoping to see the world around him has slowed down but only to see the rock soar through the air at a normal pace.

"Well, I guess I was wrong," Izuku said dejectedly, "I don't have a quirk after all."

All the hope and joy he had earlier just disappeared.

"I guess it really was someone else using their quirk."

He couldn't believe he thought he had a quirk.

"RRRAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHH"

At that moment he let out all his anger in one big scream.

"Who was I trying to kid, myself? I wasted all this time just to learn what I already know. I guess I really am just a useless Deku."

When he finished his rant he picked up a rock and threw it at a tree. The rock ricocheted off the tree and headed back at Izuku. Just as it was about to reach him, time started to slow down.

'Huh,' Izuku thought, 'It's just like the playground, which means I must-'

His thoughts were interrupted as the rock bonked off his head.

"Ow," Izuku ground as he rubbed his head.

Then it hit him. He's the only one in the area and he remembered that no one followed him into the woods, which means.

"I HAVE A QUIRK," Izuku cheered out in joy.

"But why does it wear off after some time?"

So to figure it out, even as much as he hated to do it, he chucked a rock at a tree and watched it bounce off of it and watched it head towards him.

And the moment that time slowed down he started counting.

'One, two, three, four, five,' And after he counted five the rock hit him in the head.

"So it only works for five seconds and activates if I'm in any danger."

After he assessed what his quirk could do he said the one thing that's bringing him joy at the moment.

"I have a quirk," Izuku said happily, "This is the best day of my life."
