A/N: Sorry it took so long, I've been wrapped up in future chapters. I'll try to update more but still maintain a good fic. But I can tell you now, this story is going to have alot of tears and drama. But for now, here's something lighthearted and simple, and yes, Rana, I did mean Ioreth. Thanks for pointing that out!

He woke up a few hours later. The moonlight casted a shadow over his face. His eyes were red and swollen. He turned over to his side, facing the window, not sure of what he should feel. Not sure of what he should think. Uncertain about life. He stood up and walked to the open window. It was a cool night. Starless, but still beautiful. Rarely anything was beautiful anymore, but the night was always an exception.

He was about to turn around, but he saw something. Someone. He leaned against the windowsill to get a better look. Sitting on a bench, this someone was. He squinted to get a better look. A woman. She was crying, Now who would do that, outside, in the middle of the night, he wondered.

She suddenly looked up, directly at him. As if she knew he was there. He looked back, and fully saw her features. she had long blonde hair, and it was scattered across her face. She had high cheek bones, perhaps a strong face, but he couldn't see more than that. she looked away, but he continued to stare. An unusual feeling came upon him. Another uncertainty. Whatever it was, he had no time to dwell on it. Someone then came to her , and led her inside. He hung his head. things come a go too quickly in life.

It took him a while to get to sleep, but he did, and fell into a dream filled with fires, falling towers, and the mysterious blonde girl...

The next morning went by as a blur. Indeed, he felt much better as he did the previous night. Breakfast was brought to him. but other than eating there wasn't much else to do. He started to wonder the many halls of the houses of healing.

"You must stay in bed!", the warden said to him, as he came out into the sunlit garden.

"And do what?", Faramir replied, who unintentionally, sounded like a 5 year old.

"Heal!", the warden replied, with force.

Faramir did nothing but chuckle, and passed him by. "In the name of Eru...", he heard him say.

He walked around the gardens, passing by other patients, benches, and birds. Somehow this place made you feel like you weren't in that dark, cruel, war-raging Middle Earth anymore, but someplace different. And for the first time in a long time, he felt a sense of excitement, and a not-so-bad-after- all feeling of life. Why was this? Because he was unaware of the events happening at the black gate? Or perhaps because he as mindlessly staring at that blonde girl from last night again who had his back turned to him. she was talking to a healer, and he could catch some words they were saying.

"..brother's fighting with them right now!"

"You mustn't think that you can fight, much less wield a dagger in your condition...I am sorry", and

with that, the healer left her alone. She hung her head in despair.

Faramir's mind was whirling as his legs carried him closer to her. what are you doing...He laid a hand on her shoulder, and was thrown back by her hair--I mean beauty. His mouth was making weird sounds that eventually turned into words.

"I--I...do you need---are you alright..?"

I do you need are you alright? She must have thought him an idiot.

"I--I'm alright...Are---you?"

Apparently not.

From that awkward moment until evening, they found themselves speaking, not with stutters, but with light laughter and polite conversations. She was called Eowyn, and was the princess of Rohan. He found particular interest in her, as he soon found out about her confrontation with the Nazgul. He was amazed by her strengths, but soon found out she also had weaknesses. They weren't that much different. they had both lost their parents, and shared similar feelings of grief.

"I have had a lovely time, Lord Faramir", she said as they walked back into the houses.

"Likewise, my lady", he replied, with a smile.

"Then I shall see you again tomorrow?"

"You shall"

What a blur this day was indeed. That night, he couldn't fall asleep. and it wasn't because of plagued dreams.

A/N: so yeah, this was a basic, get-straight-down-to-the-topic chapter. Sorry if details weren't there much. Please review anyhow!
