~Somewhere in a Forest~

Its official, my brother's been bitten by the theater bug. Ever since mom brought home this DVD that contained some of the greatest director's in Hollywood to watch. Jackie wished to direct his own movies. And his first movie is in production as we speak. Once again, I was brought along on another Wu heist. Not sure why Jack's dragging me on these missions but here I am in the middle of this movie set up near an old lumber mill. Jack was sitting in a chair. The kind a famous actor would sit in when taking a break from filming. Looking down at his radar watch that was tracking Dojo and the monks. I sat besides him in a similar chair. Waiting to see what would happen.

Within seconds the camera began rolling as soon as Jackie said 'Action'. Dojo swooped down flying past us then flew back up into the sky. Jack stood in a pose facing the camera saying what was either part of his script he wrote or just off the bat.

"It appears Evil Boy Genius, Jack Spicer has company. Jackbots attack!"

Next thing you know a boy shots giant logs right at Dojo. I watched everything. I gripped the edge of my seat as I watched Dojo dodge the flying logs. Only to get scrapped on the tip of his forehead creating a bald spot. More bots threw another log that made Dojo do a backflip then he was falling straight down to the ground.

"Oh my god Dojo!" I cried out in fear as Dojo fell with a log on his head. Had it not been for Omi using the Ruby of Ramsies to lift the log they would have crashed for sure.

"Cut! No, no the camera stays on me, Jack Spicer." Jack said gripping the camera.

"Jack, will you jut get on with it." Said Wuya.

Jack took off in the air going for the new Wu, The Shadow of Fear. It was standing perfectly still on a log. Floating in the river. Rather then sit on my butt till it grew sore I joined Jackie in the air using my own helipack. Maybe if I got the Wu first could 'accidentally' drop in the monks way so they'd get it. Just as I flew in Jack's direction he takes off like a bullet towards the Wu. He almost had it had Clay not roped it away. Clay, that cowboy's got some fine rope skills. Unfortunately, the blades on Jack's helipack cut the rope and the Wu fell on another log. Dojo flew down so the monks could jump off. Each of them landing a a log that was ten-twenty feet from the Wu. Jack and I landed down on the other side. The Wu was right smack in the middle. I could see Jack and Clay have a stare down. Reminds me of an old Western movie.

"Make you move Spicer." Said Clay.

"Makeup!" Jack cried out. A girl bot popped out of nowhere and put makeup on Clay's face. I covered my mouth. Not because I was surprised, okay maybe I was a little but I was mostly trying to hold back my laughter.

"Beautiful, action." Said Jack.

The Camerbots flew in close to Clay who suddenly lost his ability to talk right or move. I could see from his facial reaction that Clay had a bad case of stage fright. I was so busy looking at Clay that I didn't realize Jack made off with the Shadow of Fear. It wasn't until Omi pulled out the Orb of Tornami, summoning a large wave that made the bots fly away and Clay and I go log surfing. Right towards a dam.

"Oh no, we're gonna crash!" I cried out.

"Hang on little lady!" Said Clay reaching out to grab my arm. Pulling me into his arms as we continued surfing towards the dam. When suddenly, a whirlwind blew the dam apart. Sending logs flying and Clay and I down a waterfall. I held tight to Clay and screamed. I was sure we were done for. I closed my eyes bracing for impact that never came.

"Its alright you can open your eyes now Maxine." Said Clay.

I slowly opened my eyes to find that we were hanging in the air. How you ask? Power of the Lotus Twister and Kimiko's strong grip. I was relieved. We didn't crash into the water with the log. That had broke apart from the strong impact of the fall. I could hear Jack's evil laughter as he spoke about his accomplishment captured on film.

I thanked Clay for the rescue as we were pulled up thanks to Kimiko and Rai's assistance. Jackie called out for me to get a move on. Something about burning daylight or whatever. I wasn't paying attention. I thanked the monks than flew off to meet my brother. The moment I caught up with him was when I gave him a piece of my mind.

"You idiot what the hell is wrong with you?!" I started at him. "You abandon your little sister and run off with your precious Wu! Not caring what happens to me! I swear Jack you are an asshole!"

"Hey, hey come on Maxine cut me a break. Look your alright, we got the Wu, and now we can go home victorious." Jack told me with a nervous smile on his face.

I growled at him in anger, punched him in the arm before storming off then flying off for home. I had to get far away from Jack for a while. Now I could have gone home but I decided against it. There's no way I'm staying in the same area with Jackie. Not when I'm this pissed off at him. Oh I swear...My brother...sometimes he makes me so...Ugh!

I flew through the sky not caring where I was going. I doubt Jackie was going to come looking for me. He's got his precious Shadow of Fear. He doesn't need me around. Boy, saying that aloud...maybe that's being to hard on my brother? He's not a total asshole. He's just some kid who's desperately trying to seek attention and find his purpose in life. I know he loves me. Its just sometimes...sometimes...well I pretty much covered the topic.

Just need to get away for a while. I'll head back home once I'm feeling calm, cool, and collected. Until then I'm just going to keep flying till I find a good spot to land and relax. That or till Jackie sends one of his bots to come retrieve me. That might be sooner than I anticipated.

(Later that Evening)

At this current moment I'm in the bathroom washing my face. I'm not going to bed just yet, but I like getting ready in case I get tired and want to sleep. Usually I'll stay awake reading books or sketching in my notebook. No, no its not anything special. I just sketch out new inventions down in it. Like my hover shoes or my helipack. I draw in my sketchbook then I create the blueprints on my compute, print them out and bring my creation(s) to life. I'm thinking of drawing out plans for an electrical defense belt. Never know when someone will try something funny. Got to be prepared for moments like that.

Soon as I finished with my face I patted it lightly with a towel then went to my room. Walking into my room I closed the door then walked and sat at my desk. Pulling out my notebook from a draw I got ready for sketching when suddenly my door slammed open.

"Maxine I'm going out for a while!"

I fell out of my chair in shock thanks to Jackie's sneak and shout attack.

"Oops...you okay there Max?" Jack asked sheepishly. Took me a few seconds before I replied.

"I'll live." That's all I said. That's all I could say.

"Okay well..." Jackie looked away as he spoke. "Uh I'll just be...yeah I'm just going to go now. I'll see you in the morning." He waved goodbye, gave me a toothy smile then took off. He closed the door before he left. Least he had some common sense for my respect. Wish he'd come help me up like a gentleman but what can you do?

I slowly got myself up on my feet, pulled my chair up, sat down and went back to my little project. This is what I did for a good two hours. Yes, I pride myself in the details of my work and some sketches were better than others. Got a small trash can filled with crumbled up papers of sketches that were no good. By the time I looked at the small clock on my desk it was almost ten o clock. Perhaps I'd done enough sketching tonight. Time to get some sleep. Little did I know that tomorrow would bring a bundle of surprises I did not see coming.

(Evening the Next Day)

I won't go into the boring details of my day. My day is nothing compared to what's happening right now. Let me catch you guys up. So once again Jackie stole Shen Gong Wu from right under the monks noses. He mentioned something about using the Shadow of Fear to scare cube ball. His words not mine. Obviously the monks will be coming over to retrieve the stolen Wu, again; and Jackie has a plan of attack, again. Did I mention Jackie was filming? I was sitting besides him when the monks

"Lights. Camera. Action."

The monks were caught in the spotlight as the camerabots filmed.

"We've come for the stolen Shen Gong Wu Jack." Said Kimiko. "Juda Le Flip, Fire!" She released flames that surrounded her body as she did a couple front flips then attached a bot.

"Good very dramatic, but so is this." Jackie pulled out the Shadow of Fear. Calling upon its power. A dark purple smoke was released into the air. Flying around the monks I could see the fear in their eyes.

"Jackie this is just cruel. Its going to far." I said.

"Oh no Maxine quiet the opposite. This is going exactly as I planned." He replied.

"Well I'm not standing around for this. I'm going to help them." Now that I said it out loud I wish I hadn't. With a snap of his fingers Jackie had one of his bots grab me. Of course what the bot didn't know was I had finished my latest invention this afternoon. With a push of a button on my belt buckle an electrical current that spread too the bot causing it to short circuit. Jackie was left in shock.

"Hang on guys!" I called to the monks running over to help them.

"Maxine no!" Jack called out but it was too late. I ran over to help the monks. Getting myself caught in the purple smoke that circled around me. Almost as if it was dancing. Shame it had to unleash my worst fear, bringing it to life along with the others.

The hairs on my body rose. Chills ran down my spin as goosebumps crept around my body. My heart began to race as if I was in a marathon and my palms were getting sweaty. Oh this isn't good. This is not good. Neither is that huge shadow covering my body. Wait huge shadow?

Oh shit.

I know I shouldn't turn around and yet I turned around.

Oh shit.

My worst fear?

I have a common fear known as arachnophobia. Also known as a fear of spiders. Yes, its probably childish for a fifteen year old girl to be afraid of spiders but they terrify me. Now here I am looking at a giant spider the size of two cows starring down at me with its eight big red beaty eyes. Dear god its even more terrifying this size in person. The spider released a loud screech right in front of my face. Saliva got on my face but that was nothing compared to its horrid breathe.

And cue the screaming.

I screamed at the top of my lungs then ran around the room. I could see the monks were in a similar situation I was. Kimiko was dealing with a giant doll with a face that was half deformed and a missing arm. Clay was trying to avoid kisses from his granny. Raimundo was running away from this giant jellyfish. Omi screamed in terror at a giant shrieking squirrel. Next thing I knew we were running around screaming at the top of our lungs being chased by our worst fears.

"Zoom in! Now show me more fear! (cue evil laugh)" Said Jack.

The monks ran out of our house while I ran upstairs to my room. I stayed locked up in my room for the rest of the night. No way I'm letting a giant spider get in and eat me. Hell I didn't think I would get much sleep after what I saw. Actually, I don't think I slept at all. I stayed hidden under my bed with a baseball bat by my side.

By morning I felt it was safe to come out. I decided to take a shower, grab a granola bar and head to the temple. I had to talk to the monks about the nightmares. Something had to be done. Now while Ii've yet to go to the temple myself I knew where to go. Thanks to the GPS system in my phone I installed. I'll talk about that another time.

(Xiaolin Temple)

After flying for over half an hour I found the temple. It was a beauty but I wasn't there to admire it. I wanted to talk to the monks right away. My brothers shenanigan's have gone too far. Landing on the ground I walked around the area. Trying to figure out where everyone could be. I doubt they left so where could they be? Just then, I heard something. It sounded like talking. Listening carefully I followed the voices to a large building that looked just like a tower from a fairytale book. The voices were coming from inside and unlike Jackie I actually have manners. I knocked on the door and waited.

Took only a couple seconds for the door to be answered by Clay. He was surprised to see me by myself at the temple. I told him I'd explain everything and asked to come inside. Inside I came to realize this was where the monks kept their Shen Gong Wu and got to meet Master Fung, their teacher. Explaining the situation with the Shadow of Fear and the last battle I wanted to help get that Wu as far away from Jack as possible. I had picked a good time to come because Dojo had sensed a new Shen Gong Wu called The Crouching Cougar.

Offering my assistance I left with the monks to retrieve the Shen Gong Wu. Before leaving Master Fung gave us this piece of advice.

"Do not lose hope. Realizing ones fears is the first step to facing them."

As we flew through the air on Dojo, which by the way was totally cool! Riding a dragon through the sky. That's only something one could dream about; but to actually make that dream a reality? This is the greatest moment of my life. Anyway like I was saying while we rode on Dojo we were trying to figure out how we'd face our fears. Then Omi came up with the idea to swap fears. To which we all high fived in agreement. Anything to avoid dealing with that horrific spider for a while.

We arrived in a rocky valley. The Crouching Cougar was on top of a large mesa. We landed on different levels just as our worst fears were coming our way.

"Here they come!" Cried Kimiko.

"Remember the plan, switch!" Said Omi and within seconds we switched dance partners.

Omi took on Kimiko's nightmare.

Kimiko took on Omi's nightmare.

Raimundo took on Clay's nightmare.

Clay took on my nightmare.

I took on Clay's nightmare.

While we were fighting Jack flew up to the top of the mesa to retrieve the Wu.

"Jack Spicer, stop him!" Cried out Omi.

"Dame it Jackie your really pushing it!" I cried out.

"Too late, the Shen Gong Wu is mine!"

Quickly we all climbed to the top. Jumping up all at once and touching the Wu at the same time.

Omi counted how many fingers were touching the Wu saying it was a ten way showdown. Now there's something no one probably heard often. We all turned to Dojo who confronted a rule book. He said it would be five-against-five each wavering one Shen Gong Wu.

And so the Wu wagered were... Dragons wager the Lotus Twister, Shroud of Shadows, Two-Ton Tunic, Lightning Locket and Silk Spitter. While the nightmare's wager the Third-Arm Sash, Serpent's Tail, Eye of Dashi, Monkey Staff and Fist of Tebigong. Jack announces the challenge as a sumo-fight, with all competitors dressed as sumo wrestlers and the first to leave the designated fight area, loses. All competitors must confront their own worst fear. Wuya complimented Jack who pushed her away and out of the camera shot.

"Let's go, Xiaolin Showdown!"

The scene changed as the mesa we were on shot straight up into the sky. Taking us higher and higher until we stopped in the open space and I do mean open space. We were literally in space. Then, a bight fire-like green flame shot up from the ground. Surrounding the area in a giant circular shield. And if that wasn't enough we and our nightmares were sumo sized.

"This is most embarrassing." Said Omi who lost his footing and fell on his side.

"I use to do a little rassling back home but only with greased pigs." Said Clay.

"Enough chatter and let's wrestle! By the way you guys cool diapers. Get a close up on Maxine! I want to capture this and show mom." Said Jack.

"I'm going to get you for this Jackie!" I told him before beginning the showdown.

"Gong Yi Tempi!"

We each faced off against our worst nightmare. Though to be honest we were trying to avoid our nightmares instead of fighting them, myself included. Facing against a giant spider isn't my style. Especially when it uses the Monkey Staff giving it a jumping advantage. I tried running sideways to avoid it and it worked for a while before the creature got in front of me. I was frozen in place. My legs wouldn't move even though my brain was telling them to run. The spider creature had all eight arms up in the air ready to grab me.

Was this how I'd be defeated? By my own worst fear? Then something caught me from the corner of my eyes. I saw Omi stand up and defend himself against the giant squirrel using the Two-Ton Tonic. The squirrel bounced back and disappeared through the shield. Then I noticed the others starting to fight back against their own fears and that got me thinking. If they can face their worst fears then so can I.

"Lightning Locket!' I cried out summoning balls of lightning to the palm of my hands then I fired back. Sending the spider flying through the air through out of here. Soon all our worst fear were out of the ring making Xiaolin victorious. As we celebrated we all turned normal. I could hear Wuya arguing with Jack over loosing eleven Shen Gong Wu while the camerabots filmed the whole thing.
