Another story! this is just a little something I decided to write. Reviews are always welcomed.
Ever since we first met,
Ever since I first saw you.
I thought you were the most beautiful girl Id ever laid eyes on.
Your flowing red hair, like my affection,
Burns with a fiery intensity.
Your brilliant eyes,
so vibrant and deep.
Archie paused for a second, pencil hovering above the paper as he thought of what to write next. He didnt want the poem to sound too sappy, but he also didnt want Atlanta to think he was an insensitive jerk. His back was against a locker. The entire corridors were empty, no sounds broke his concentration. Precisely why he had chosen to write in the school lockers when regular hours were over. Sighing, he continued to write.
Captivate me when I see you.
Your exquisite laugh, like a sirens song
Causes my momentary bliss.
I dont how to tell you what I mean,
I couldnt say it with 1000 words or in 1000 years.
So Ill try to tell you
in only three...
I love you...
Well Archie, you really arent the poet, are you? This completely sucks... he thought dismaly while hitting the back of his head against the metal door. He rested like that, not even looking up when he heard footsteps. Multiple pairs of footsteps all coming towards his direction.
"Hey Archie, you busy? Want to come play football?" called a voice, Jay. Odie, Herry followed while Neil walked beside him.
"Ummm, not right now guys. Im kind of busy." he answered, hastily trying to stow what he had written into a binder. Unfortunately, Neil was the quicker and grabbed it out of his hands. Archie tried to grab it, but the blonde had bolted away a few steps. Hurriedly get up, he went after Neil. Too late, Neil's eyes skimmed over the page as he cracked a grin.
"Ooooo, lover boy wrote a poem!" he said out loud to the others, all of whom were immediately interested.
Neil read it, and the others listened intetively. All of them breaking out into identical grins while Archie turned redder and redder.
"Aaaaw, how sweet!" Herry joined Neil in the teasing.
"Cut it out you guys..." he answered heatedly, only to be answered by further annoying comments.
At that point, two more pairs of footsteps echoed in the hallways, accompanied by two familiar voices. Theresa and Atlanta were both talking animately with each other. Neil grinned mischieviously, then before Archie could react, ran over to them. He held up the paper to Atlanta while Theresa looked over her shoulder so she could see the letter. As soon as they were finished, both started chuckling, obviously trying not to.
"Great errr, poem Archie" Theresa said, the corners of her mouths twisting upwards.
"I think its really sweet that you would try to write a love poem..." Atlanta agreed, "Thanks"
What? Did she just say sweet and thank me? Archie pondered in disbelief. Though he didnt show it, the comment had really made his day.
"Though next time, try to rhyme it does sound better" Odie added, taking the poem to see for himself.
Archie turned, if possible, an even more brilliant shade of red. Zeus? Strike me down right now. Please! Im begging you he silently pleaded, wondering if it would do any good anyways. Currently, he figured the embarassment would finish him off...
