(The episode opens with Gordon, Susan and Elmo getting prepared to go to the picnic lunch meal reunion party in the park.)
Elmo: "It sure is super nice out there."
Gordon: "it sure is, Elmo."
Susan: "we couldn't've picked a much better day for the picnic lunch meal reunion party in the park today."
Elmo: "boy oh boy. Elmo can hardly wait to see Miles Junior and April again."
Gordon: "we haven't even seen them since Susan and I left with Maria, Gabi, Miles and the two of them for the funeral and memorial ceremony in Puerto Rico."
(Elmo shows them the birdhouse the late Luis had made with him.)
Elmo: "look, you guys."
Susan: "oh yeah."
Gordon: "Luis made that birdhouse with you."
Elmo: "yeah. Elmo sure remembers when Luis helped Elmo out. right, Gordon and Susan?"
Gordon: "we sure do."
Susan: "oh yeah. our best friend for life. he sure did love woodworkin'."
Gordon: "and he really loved showin' you exactly how to make birdhouses."
Susan: "he was real super proud of you that day, he gave you that birdhouse off his hands."
Elmo: "oh boy. Elmo can hardly wait to see Luis and show it to him today."
Gordon: "hey, uh, Elmo?"
Susan: "can we speak with you for a bit?"
Elmo: "yeah?"
Gordon: "he won't even be there."
Susan: "do you even remember when we were talkin' about Luis? and that he passed away eight months ago?"
Elmo: "oh yeah. well. Elmo can just show it to Luis next time."
Gordon: "we're afraid not, Elmo."
Elmo: "oh. but Elmo can speak with him on the telephone. right?"
Susan: "no, Elmo. you see? when somebody passes away, it means they're not alive and kicking any longer."
Gordon: "their entire body just stopped workin'."
Susan: "they don't even eat nor drink, no breathe, nor speak on the telephone."
Elmo: "oh yeah."
Gordon: "Luis passed away eight months ago."
Susan: "you got any questions to ask us?"
Elmo: "can we bring Elmo's basketball to play around with in the park today?"
Gordon: "yes. of course we can."
Susan: "now let's get that basketball."
(They all walk around on their way to the park.)
(Ernie, Bert, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Maria, Gabi, Miles, Gina, Carlo, James, Henry, Miles Jr. and April notice Gordon, Susan and Elmo.)
Ernie: "why hello there."
Bert: "look who just arrived."
Miles Jr.: "we really missed seeing you guys."
April: "it's super good to see you guys again."
(Elmo begins looking around.)
Gina: "what are you looking for, Elmo?"
Elmo: "well? where's Luis?"
Big Bird: "Elmo? you know Luis passed away eight months ago. right?"
Elmo: "but it really feels like Luis should be here."
Miles Jr.: "can we please not talk about this?"
April: "can we just go and play around?"
Gordon: "yeah. sure. of course."
Susan: "now who wants to play basketball?"
Elmo: "Elmo does."
(Elmo goes off to play basketball. with Big Bird, Ernie, Bert and Cookie Monster.)
Maria: "you know something? every single time I would come back home with groceries, Luis would give me a surprise snuggle attack."
Gabi: "that sounds just like something my dad would do."
Miles: "always the one with the surprise welcomin' attacks."
Maria: "you sure got that right."
Gabi: "we sure do miss him more than anything."
Maria: "oh yeah. so do I."
James: "so, Maria."
Henry: "how you holdin' up?"
Maria: "well, Mr. Hooper and Mr. Handford. it really hasn't been super easy. we were always Luis and Maria. but now a days, well? it's real super hard to be without him."
Miles: "we sure hope you know that we're all here for you, Gabi, Miles Jr. and April."
Gina: "for whatever you need."
Maria: "well, you guys? I could actually use a little bit of help around here with Miles Junior and April."
Miles: "oh. really?"
Maria: "they just don't seem to wanna talk about their Grandpa Luis that much."
Gordon: "well I just noticed that."
Gabi: "we been trying to give them plenty of time and to let them know that we're here for them. when they're prepared to speak. but so far. nothing."
Susan: "maybe Miles Junior and April don't wanna talk about him with you. 'cause they're afraid that it might get you more upset than you were before."
Gordon: "we mean, you been through quite a lot. but you know somethin'?"
Susan: "we bet maybe they'll speak with Gordon and I."
Maria: "well? they might."
Gabi: "it's worth a try."
(Elmo walks over to them.)
Elmo: "Miles? Gabi?"
Miles: "yeah, Elmo?"
Elmo: "Luis isn't really alive and kicking any longer. is he?"
Gabi: "no, Elmo."
Elmo: "that makes Elmo depressed and heartbroken."
Maria: "we know that, Elmo."
Big Bird: "we're all depressed and heartbroken."
Carlo: "'cause we all miss Luis more than anything."
Elmo: "oh yeah."
Maria: "and, Elmo? it's okay to feel lots of different ways. even kids, teens and grownups young and old do as well too."
Elmo : "but Elmo's not finished being depressed and heartbroken just yet."
Gabi: "well? we may never be finished being depressed and heartbroken about this."
Miles: "but the things about depression and heartbreak is that they come and they go."
Elmo: "really?"
Maria: "yes, Elmo. really."
Elmo: "but still. Elmo misses Luis more than anything."
Gabi: "so do we, Elmo."
Miles: "we all do."
Elmo: "yeah."
(Meanwhile with Gordon and Susan looking for Miles Jr. and April…)
Gordon: "Miles Junior and April doin' okay, Big Bird?"
Big Bird: "no, Gordon and Susan. I don't think so."

(Miles Jr. and April shake their heads in agreement.)
Susan: "oh good. looks more relaxin'."
Gordon: "oh yeah."
Susan: "your Grandpa Luis really loved sittin' on a bench like this one."
Gordon: "we remember this one time-"
Miles Jr.: "Grandpa Gordon? Grandma Susan?"

Gordon: "why sure."
Susan: "of course."
Gordon: "sometimes it's a bit hard to talk about somebody who passed away."
Susan: "like Harold and Arnold Hooper."

Gordon: "oh yeah."
Susan: "sometimes we feel depressed and heartbroken as well too. when we think about your Grandpa Luis."
Miles Jr.: "you really do?"
Gordon: "why sure. of course."
Susan: "we sometimes feel a bit angry and upset that he passed away eight months ago."
Gordon: "do you two ever feel that way?"
Miles Jr.: "yeah. sometimes it feels like it just isn't fair at all."
April: "we mean, why exactly did he need to pass away, Grandpa Gordon and Grandma Susan? why isn't he even here?"
Gordon: "we sure wish we knew."
Susan: "but we now know that it's okay to have all of those thoughts and emotions."
Gordon: "we even had them ourselves."
Miles Jr.: "really?"
Susan: "oh yeah."
Gordon: "but you know somethin'? it helps to speak with somebody about the way we're feelin'."
Susan: "like we're speakin' now."
Gordon: "sometimes it feels so much better than keepin' it all inside."
Susan: don't you two agree?"
Miles Jr.: "well. yeah."
April: "we do feel a bit better now."
Gordon: "oh good."
Susan: "come over here."
(Gordon, Susan, Miles Jr. and April begin snuggling up with one another.)
Gordon: "you two know that there's lots of other people and monsters you can speak with. your parents, me and your Grandma Susan and your Grandma Maria as well too."
Susan: "even Ernie, Bert, Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster."
Gordon: "we all care about you."
Susan: "and you know what other things make us feel so much better?"
Gordon: "rememberin' all of those fun thrilled times we had with your Grandpa Luis."
Miles Jr.: "oh yeah."
April: "our Grandpa Luis was lots of fun and excitement."
Gordon: "oh yeah."
Susan: "he sure was."
Gordon: "but he was also a lovin' and carin' and hardworkin' man."
Susan: "who always wanted to make everybody bright and cheerful."
Gordon: "especially you two."
(Meanwhile during lunch meal time and the memorial shrine…..)
Big Bird: "here's a caricature I did of your Grandpa Luis when Harold Hooper passed away before his brother, Arnold Hooper did forty years ago."
Miles Jr.: "thanks a bunch, Big Bird."
April: "we appreciate that."
James: "and here are some photos of my father and my Uncle Harold from the past years."
