Episode complete! I noticed that this chapter is one of the short ones but oh well I ran into a block on this one so I'm glad I was able to finish it on at least 1k words.
Enjoy!
Five Bitter Days Part 2
Thus, Mitsukuni's three miserable days have begun.
This morning Haruhi and I along with the twins go to the third-year hall to check on Mitsukuni. We peek into the hall to see Takashi emptying Mitsukuni's bag forming a big mountain of sweets.
"Wow, can you really fit that much in the school bag?" I mumble, eyeing the bag contemplatively.
The other three look at me a little shocked.
"Out of the things that are happening, you focus on that?" Haruhi sighs.
"What? That's more shocking than seeing Takashi scolding Mitsukuni for having candy," I cross my arms.
The twins and Haruhi sigh.
During club hours I hand Kyoya the current budget of the club and a smile spreads across his face at the significant increase from Mitsukuni not getting his sweets.
"You are enjoying this increase, aren't you?" I take back the files.
"I don't know what you mean," he smiles at me.
I sigh.
"Definitely enjoying it."
"You do realize that once his cavity is gone, the budget is gonna go back to the way it was, and maybe even lower," I muse as he walks away, making him freeze up.
There's a pause.
"Good grief."
"Don't worry, I won't let it go lower," I smirk, "You should know this."
He smirks, mirroring me, "Of course."
Throughout the next couple of days, Mitsukuni has used different methods to get sweets. There were three methods, all of which failed spectacularly. He tried to use his cuteness on Takashi but ended up with a sudden hella cold popsicle shoved in his mouth and squeaking in pain due to it.
"He should have seen that fail from the beginning."
Takashi is quite stubborn; if he decided to not give Mitsukuni candy, then no candy for him.
"He could always order him but he's not like that…although…no, bad Nami!"
I feel my face get hot as the image of Mitsukuni suddenly taking charge and getting a little rough with me forms in my mind.
"No, stop, you got work to do."
I let out a shaky breath and continue going through this week's paperwork with the occasional naughty thought sneaking in.
Mitsukuni's second method consisted of indirectly suggesting sweets to the guests. Unfortunately for him, that didn't work since they ended up running away to resist the temptation. He came crying to me after that happened.
For his third method, he tried pulling at heartstrings. It would have worked, had he done it to anyone else but Haruhi. Alas, he attempted it on her and earned himself a Kyoto Kelp treat that supposedly had the same color as chocolate. I wouldn't know, I've never tried it.
On the third day of candy prohibition, Mitsukuni was surprisingly not that irritable, considering he hasn't had candy in three days.
"Nami," he skips up to me.
I look at him, wary of any possible tricks, "Yes?"
He blinks, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You are smarter than what people give you credit for," I keep my eyes on him.
"Oh, come on," he pouts cutely.
"I'm surprised you haven't gone to check the storage," I realize.
"That's because you are here!" He gives me a beaming smile, "Your presence here is like candy, it makes me happy!"
My whole face gets hella hot, butterflies fluttering in my stomach and my heart feeling like it's racing a thousand miles a minute. I'm speechless.
"Although I do wonder how you would taste covered in something sweet," I hear him mumble holding his chin thinking.
My whole body combusts.
"Wh-What?! Did I hear him correctly?"
He smiles at me, all innocent and sweet, but when I look into his eyes, I see mischief.
"Oh, he's fully aware of what he just said! Oh my, I feel lightheaded."
On the fifth day, Mitsukuni finally snapped. He marched into the storage room where we would usually keep the candy. Kaoru started getting scared while Hikaru panicked the moment Mitsukuni slammed open the storage room door.
"If he breaks that door, he's paying for it," I mumble, watching from between Kyoya and Tamaki.
"Nami, you emptied out the storage room, right?" Kyoya asked.
"Yeah," I remembered something, "I may have left something in there though."
"What did you leave?" Tamaki asked, curious.
"That," I pointed at Mitsukuni who was holding Tamaki's bear.
Tamaki screamed in horror the moment Mitsukuni slammed the poor bear into the floor.
"That bear has been abused a lot this week."
The irritable boy comes back into the room and collapses on the tiled floor done with everything.
"I'm surprised he lasted this long," I said, "I thought he would last three days."
"Really?" The twins looked at me then at Mitsukuni.
Tamaki got up to check on the poor boy only to get his hand munched on. I coughed to conceal an incoming laugh.
"It was funny in the anime, and it's still funny seeing it for real."
Tamaki screeched that the smaller boy would bite off his hand until Takashi got up and walked over to them.
A small summary of what happened. Takashi wanted Mitsukuni to get angry at him because he failed him and he felt that if Mitsukuni ends up with false teeth when he's older it would be his fault because he failed to get him to brush his teeth. Honestly, it was ridiculous, but oh well. It is what it is. All ended well and Mitsukuni calmed down.
Several days later his cavity was gone therefore the sweets came back much to Kyoya's dismay.
"Kyoya," I grin up at Kyoya who looks a little depressed.
"What?" he asks monotonically.
I hand him the sheets for the total of the sweets. I watch his eyes get wide as he looks over the document. I managed to spend the least amount of money on the abundance of sweets; after all, I am the treasurer of this club.
"How?" he asks shocked.
I shake my finger, "Now, now, my dear Kyoya, a magician never reveals their secrets," I smirk.
He lets out a small laugh, "Of course."
The secret is that I saved up a bunch of coupons and managed to get the majority of the sweets on sale. I had to sacrifice two days of sleep, but it was worth it.
I look at Mitsukuni happily eating his sweets.
"Because it was all for him and the club."
Don't be afraid to leave a review I don't bite unless ya are into that ;)
