I didn't realize it's been a year since the last update, whoops. How are you guys been doing? I've been good, got covid a few weeks ago (a fun time) but don't worry I'm good now. My ego was bruised a bit since I had a 2-year streak of not getting sick but oh well I'll live.

DarkRain4Eternity: Yeah don't feel bad, a lot of people seem to forget that Honey is a 17-18 year old guy, he has hormones and responsibilities especially since he's the heir in his family.

Kayumeee: To be honest I thought I was going to read a wall of text on how bad the fic was and never see your name again but I was surprised when I saw your name several times accompanied by you starting to like it despite the many things you didn't like from the first chapter. About the occasional non italicized sentences, I try to go through the chapter as best as possible since the site doesn't save the format when you copy and paste sometimes I miss things and don't see them after it's been posted, and by that time I'm tired. Yes, I do rely on people having watched the anime, I'm not ashamed to admit that.

Another Guest: Yeah I don't see the point of putting cliffhangers in this series, at least for now.

sidtrix: Completely agree. I was only able to find one maybe two where he's the love interest that it was good but unfortunately, they aren't complete. So if you can't find what you want then you gotta make it yourself.

Anyways enjoy~

Newspaper Nuisance Part 1

The day started as usual. Get out of bed, get ready for school, eat breakfast, wait for Haruhi to come out so I can take her on my bike like every other morning. Today I don't have an exercise session with Takashi, nor do I have any leftover paperwork to do for Kyoya, so I'm mostly free.

"Is today an episode day or nah?"

I know today for the club we're going to be outside and wearing Heian-era clothing.

"Wait… is it?"

The afternoon comes along and I'm still unsure of whether something will happen today or not. Everything is nice and relaxing during club hours. I take orders once in a while. Peace is a rare thing in this club.

Suddenly I hear shouts, making me look up and see a ball whooshing towards me, my face specifically.

"Peace was never an option."

I manage to catch it with both hands.

"Boss, Nami-senpai catches better than you!" The twins, aka the culprits of the said ball flying at my face, shout at Tamaki.

"Oi! Watch where you kick the ball!" I glare at them.

The twins pale and bow to me, apologizing, and then proceed to taunt Tamaki further about his lack of athletic skill.

I watch them.

"This looks awfully familiar…"

Suddenly Tamaki, feeling his abilities being underestimated, soccer kicks the Kemari ball towards the twins but they dodge and wave the ball goodbye as it flies off to who knows where.

"This looks very familiar and I don't like where this is going."

The sound of glass breaking is heard in the distance which reminds me of a fraction of an episode of the anime.

"Nah, it can't be."

Soon enough the entire club is now standing in front of an injured newspaper club president. I feel a headache incoming.

"It is… good grief."

Our resident dunderhead apologizes profusely and I tune out the entire conversation while cleaning up the glass with Haruhi.

"Well, my day is ruined."

I tune back in when I hear Tamaki getting painfully shouldered by Kyoya, who's refusing what I assume is the request of the newspaper club to make an article about the Host Club. Tamaki's complaints are completely ignored. The twins diss the newspaper club.

The club president, whose name escapes me at the moment, tries to appeal to our sympathy by mentioning how cruel people can be when they don't allow you to redeem yourself.

"Uh-huh, that's rich coming from you Mr. I bet-Tamaki-has-a-dark-side."

He proceeds to make a dramatic scene about how much his head hurts.

I look at Kyoya bored, "The glass is cleaned, can I go? I have apology flowers to send to the guests."

Before Kyoya could respond Tamaki interrupts by saying that the Host Club will help the Newspaper Club re-establish itself to which the twins promptly say to count them out while walking out dragging Haruhi with them. Kyoya is also walking out but not before letting Tamaki know that we are going to hold an evaluation meeting mainly about him.

As a last resort, Tamaki orders us to help, to which Kyoya and the twins refuse.

"Nami you wouldn't mind helping them, right?" He turns to me with big tears in his eyes.

"Geez, why you gotta put me on the spot like this?"

"Nah, I don't want part of this," I say, shattering his hopes and dreams.

Back at the club room I take a seat at one of the tables and start to fill out orders for those flowers.

"Tamaki, go change," I say, not looking up.

No response.

"Tamaki," I look up to see the dunderhead sulking while rolling the kemari ball back and forth.

"Right, he's mentally a child when he doesn't get his way."

I sigh going back to my papers. A little while later, the rest of the hosts come out from the changing rooms, back in their uniforms.

"He still hasn't changed?" Haruhi stands beside me.

"I hate it when he ignores us when we're right in front of him," Kyoya sighs, "He's such a child."

I pinch the bridge of my nose, "Honestly we all know how's this gonna go," Everyone looks at me, "Any moment now he's gonna look at us with puppy eyes and we are all gonna cave in one by one," I look at Kyoya, "So let's avoid any further time-wasting and get on with it."

Haruhi sighs. "She's right, you know."

Right on cue, Tamaki looks at us with that puppy-eyed look. I gesture at him pointedly.

Kyoya fixes his glasses, "There will be some conditions."

Tamaki gets so excited that he barks, startling me.

"Right, I forgot he does that."

Kyoya explains the conditions. The outline of the article will be submitted by us, interviews are strictly prohibited, and it is of utmost vital that we keep our clients' identities confidential. We all agree to the conditions.

"I wonder if everything is gonna go as planned."

I stay a bit later than usual to finish up the flower packages. I still can't believe that nuisance thinks that Tamaki has a dark side.

"The only dark thing about him is how bratty he can be sometimes," I put all my papers together. "And that's only because he was brought up that way."

Despite that, he is still kind-hearted. I smile, remembering a moment during the first year of the club.

"Am I good enough for this?"

I've made a few mistakes in the club's budget for this month and now everything that was planned would have to go out the window!

"It's all my fault…"

A hand gently grabbed my shoulder, snapping me out of my self-pity party. I looked up to see Tamaki.

"You alright?" he asked, looking a bit worried. "You've been rather quiet these past few days."

"I-I," I felt tears starting to form, "I messed up!"

"What do you mean?" He got down to my eye level.

"I miscalculated everything for this month!" I cried, "We don't have enough for everything that was planned! I-I don't think I'm cut out for this."

He pulled me into a hug. "Shh, it's okay." He starts caressing my hair slowly. "We can cancel some of the events."

I sniffled before nodding slowly.

"Have you asked Kyoya for help?" He wiped away a few stray tears.

I shook my head whispering, "I don't think he likes me very much…"

"Nonsense!" He moves back and grabs my face, squishing it, "Now tomorrow morning you march up to Kyoya and ask him to help you, ok?"

I nodded before letting out a squished yet teary alright.

Anyone else would have probably kicked me out of their club without even allowing me to fix it. I laugh to myself remembering the encounter with Kyoya that next morning.

We decided to meet early in the morning with Kyoya. I explained everything to him. Tamaki would squeeze my shoulders to calm me down whenever I started to panic in mid explanation.

Kyoya understood and offered to teach me how to use a program on the computer so that the mistake doesn't happen again.

That same day we didn't open the club because Kyoya was gonna use that time to teach me how to use the programs and a simpler way to calculate everything to avoid the same incident. By then, Tamaki had already gone home so it was just Kyoya and me.

"Nami," he called me making me look up from what I was writing, "Do I scare you?"

I tensed up, "I-," I looked down to my lap and mumbled, "Yes."

He chuckled, "Good."

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves before looking back at him, "I'm scared that I will become a liability because at the end of the day this club is a business."

He held his chin, thinking. "You would have become a liability had you not done anything to try and fix your mistake."

I nodded, "I'm also scared that I'll disappoint you and Tamaki."

"I see," he sighed pinching the bridge of his nose, "To disappoint that idiot you would need to do something truly horrible," He looked at me, "While yes that mistake is disappointing," I flinched, " In these few months you have proven yourself to be an asset to this club."

I looked at him in surprise, "Really?"

He nodded. "And I know with this new knowledge you have acquired you will reach new heights."

I felt tears threatening to fall.

"Are you going to cry?" he deadpanned at me.

I took a deep breath to hold back the tears, "No…"

He sighed before standing up and taking me into his arms. "Go ahead."

I bawled my eyes out, finally relieved from the nerves and stress of Kyoya hating me the last few months.

"Don't you dare to tell Tamaki about this," he warned.

I shook my head and said, "I promise," which came out muffled due to my face being buried in his chest.

I've kept what happened that day between Kyoya and me a secret and a secret it'll forever stay.

Don't be afraid to leave a review I don't bite unless ya are into that ;)
