(The next chapter. Thanks for your critical reviews. I will try and have those errors you all pointed out for me fixed very soon. Thanks for catching them and I'm sorry I managed to disappointed a few of my fellow Harry Potter fans. I will probably stick more to the film, but I use both the movie and the book as a reference point for this story. Enjoy! I own nothing but Lucy.)

...

"Afternoon fellas!...Milady." The Weasley Twins nodded at the first years as they came to join them for lunch later that day. Lucy smiled shyly at them over the pages of her book. "Hi."

"Hey! What's this, Lovey?" George swiped Hogwarts, A History from Lucy while she was reading it over her lunch. Lucy frowned slightly at him.

"It's Hogwarts, A History...Can I have it back now? I was just getting to a good part." She pleaded while Harry fixed the twins with a quiet watchful look.

George placed the book back on the table and slid it back to Lucy. "Sure thing Lu! Anything for the famous Potter Twins! You don't mind if we sit here, do you?" He asked while he and Fred pulled out the two seats directly on Lucy's left.

Hermione rolled her eyes at the them as Lucy bent back over her book, a light blush coloring her cheeks. "Um no..."

"I say! What does that bloke think he's up to?" Fred asked grinning while pointing to a first year sitting to the left of Harry.

He had short brown hair and freckles and he was chanting to himself a short little rhyme that seemed to be a spell of some sort while waving his wand frantically at his goblet of water.

Ron rolled his eyes.

"Oh..That's just Seamus. He's been trying to turn his water into rum all day."

Harry nodded his head. "Yeah he actually managed a weak tea at breakfast I think, before-." Seamus's goblet exploded before Harry could finish his sentence.

Hermione jumped out of her skin and Lucy almost tore a page in her book as Seamus stared shocked at the blackened smoking remains of his goblet.

His face and hair were all singed.

Everyone started to giggle until the Twins heard a screech from above them. "Ah!..Mail's here!" Ron started to grin as the Great Hall began to fill with owls. Owls of all types, sizes and breeds.

Lucy looked up from her book as letters and packages started to rain down around her. The Twins each got a letter from home and Ron got a newspaper roll with his mail.

Even Hermione got a letter from her parents which she was eagerly opening like everyone else was.

Lucy searched the ceiling for Hedwig, but she wasn't there. She sighed lightly and returned to her book while reaching for a carrot stick.

Oh well. It's not like she really expected the Dursleys to write to them while they were here.

"No letters for you, Miss Potter?" George teased her lightly, interrupting her thoughts once again. Lucy looked up briefly and shook her head.

"Not even any fanmail?" Fred joined in on the joking around as he looked from Lucy to Harry with wide goofy eyes. Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Oh honestly you two! Can't you see she's trying to read?...Boys!" She shook her head making her long blonde curls bounce.

Lucy stifled a smile. "No it's okay." She said softly. "I wasn't really expecting anyone to write." She picking up her book and tried to hide her face between the covers.

Harry leaned over Ron's shoulder. "Hey! Can I borrow that?" He asked motioning to the newspaper. Ron shrugged. "Go ahead."

Harry grabbed the paper and unrolled it. He scanned the headline for a second then nudged Ron with his elbow. "Hey guys! Look at this! Someone just tried to rob Gringotts!"

He placed the paper on the table. Hermione and even Lucy put down her book to see what Harry was going on about.

"Believed to be the work of dark witches or wizards unknown, Gringotts Goblins while acknowledging the breach, insist nothing was taken." Harry read aloud as Lucy studied the picture printed on the front of the paper.

She recognized the goblin who met them at the front desk on their first trip to the bank as well as Griphook who took them to their vault.

"The vault in question number 713 had in fact been emptied that very same day..That's odd." Harry furrowed his eyebrows together.

"What?" Hermione inquired. Lucy frowned a little at the article. "Vault 713...isn't that the vault Hagrid went to when he took us to our vault?" She looked up at her brother.

Harry nodded. "It is..." He looked up to meet Lucy's eyes. Neither of them said it aloud but both were thinking the same thing.

There must have been something invaluable hidden in that vault. But what? What could be so valuable that someone would try breaking into Gringotts to get it?

"Hey everyone! Look!...Neville's got himself a remembrall!" Lee Jordan, the boy with the dreadlocks from earlier announced interrupting the Twins' thoughts.

Lucy looked over to see Neville Longbottom (who had already lost his toad three more times this morning) holding a small clear glass ball in his hand which was filled with a swirl of puffy white smoke.

"I've read about those!" Hermione piped up, happy as always to share her knowledge. "When the smoke turns red it means that you've forgotten something!" She beamed.

Harry looked intrigued as the smoke started turning red in Neville's hand. Neville frowned at it.

"What's wrong Neville?" asked Ron. Neville shook his head. "I...I can't remember what I've forgotten." He moaned.

Lucy frowned sympathetically at him. "Well...I'm sure it'll come to you very soon." She tried to be reassuring.

Neville let out a sigh. "I sure hope so." He stared dismally at his remembrall.

...

"Good Afternoon class!" Madam Hooch, the flying instructor strolled briskly across the Quidditch field later that day after lunch.

"Good Afternoon Madam Hooch!" The first year class greeted her politely in return. Each student was standing next to a used school broomstick in two straight lines facing each other. Some like Draco Malfoy looked anxious to begin the lesson while others, like Hermione and the Potter Twins looked more nervous.

"Well then! What are we waiting for? Welcome to your first flying lesson! Please step up to the left side of your broom! That's it! Quickly now!" Madam Hooch, Lucy could tell was not one to waste a minute of her time.

"To begin, stick your right hand over your broom..." Madam Hooch raised her right hand to demonstrate. "...and say, up!"

Everyone started to follow her example. "Up!" Harry called to his broom and it snapped obediently into his hand. Hermione stared at him shocked.

"Um Up!" Lucy tried to call her broom. "Up!" The broom shuddered for a minute, hovered a little off the ground, but then it fell back into the grass.

"Up!..Up!" Hermione started to get frustrated when her broom failed to respond to her. Ron tried to raise his voice, but his broom just kept acting finicky.

Lucy tried again. "Up!" Her broom flew up right into the palm of her hand startling her and throwing her a little off balance. Once she had it though she turned to exchange grins with Harry. I did it!

Someone snorted from her left. "Finally!...Now let's see if you can ride!" Malfoy smirked at Lucy while holding his broom firmly in his hand. Crabbe and Goyle snickered at her.

Lucy scowled slightly at him.

"Up!...Up!..UP!" Ron finally lost his patience. His broomstick promptly flew up sharply on one side and smacked him straight in the face.

Harry burst into giggles. "Oh shut up Harry!" Ron moaned while rubbing his nose. Lucy sighed and looked over to her right to check on Hermione.

Her broom was wiggling around on the ground now, but no matter how many times Hermione called to it, it wouldn't leave the ground.

"Here, try saying it with more force and feeling. Up!" Lucy tried to be helpful. Hermione looked doubtful, but she shook her head and looked back over at her broom.

"UP!" She said louder in a firm, almost mother stern voice. Her broom floated gently into her grip. Hermione looked stunned. "Whoa!...How did you know that?" She gasped.

Lucy shrugged. "Just a thought."

"Now!" Madam Hooch stepped in as the last student managed to successfully call his broom. "Once you have a hold on your broom I want you to try to mount it! Grip it tight now! You don't want to be sliding off on the end." She instructed.

Silently all the first years carefully attempted to mount their broomsticks. Hermione bit her lip as she wobbled on her broom.

"It's just a broom...it's just a bloody broom!"

Lucy heard her mumbling to herself to keep herself calm while she leaned over keeping a white knuckled grip on her broomstick.

Lucy threw a leg over her own broom. It was a bit scary at first, but then as she got used to the feeling of hovering over the ground she began to get excited. This is fun.

Harry nodded his agreement.

"Now! When I blow my whistle I want each of you to kick off from the ground hard. Keep your broom steady!...hover for a moment, then lean forward a bit to touch back down! Am I understood?"

"Yes Madam Hooch!" All the first years answered her politely.

"Good! On my whistle then!..Three..two...*tweet!*" She blew the whistle. Lucy was about to kick off when she noticed someone kicking off too forcefully near her.

Neville started to turn white as a sheet when his broom instead of hovering a safe few inches off the ground continued floating higher and higher towards the open sky.

Madam Hooch went after him.

"Mis-Mister Longbottom!..Mister Longbottom! Come down this instant!" Neville screamed as his broom started to carry him away from the Quidditch field. Everyone broke ranks and pursued him and Madam Hooch towards the castle wall.

"I..I can't get it down! Someone get me down!" He hollered above the roar of the wind.

Some of the girls including Lucy gasped when the broom started to buck and slam itself into the castle wall trying to throw Neville off. Malfoy and some of the Slytherin students laughed, but Lucy was frightened.

If he fell from that distance he would surely break an arm or a leg.

Madam Hooch took out her wand and pursued Neville to main courtyard of the castle where Neville's robes caught on a spear of a statue overlooking one of the towers.

His broom flew on without him and Lucy started to breathe in relief until she realized that Neville's robes were tearing under his weight.

With a loud ripping sound Neville's robes tore from the statue and he fell screaming all the way to the ground with a loud crack.

Lucy winced as she followed the rest of the crowd to where the boy lay in a heap. That was definitely a broken bone or two.

"Everyone out of the way!" Madam Hooch briskly ordered as she hurried to Neville's aid.

Lucy and Harry shared a wince when Madam Hooch carefully lifted Neville up and they saw his wrist bent out of place and turning a nasty swelling shade of purple.

"Ooh ooh ooh dear...that's a broken wrist." Madam Hooch tsked as she slowly checked him for more injuries while helping him to his feet.

Harry nudged Lucy in the ribs. Look! It's Neville's remembrall! He pointed to the small glass ball which was nearly hidden in the grass.

Lucy frowned at it. Poor Neville. She started to pick it up to hold for him until a long white hand beat her to it. She looked up to meet Malfoy's still laughing grey eyes.

"Everyone is to keep their feet firmly on the ground while I take Mr. Longbottom to the hospital wing!" Madam Hooch ordered the rest of the first years as she turned to lead Neville back into the castle.

"If I see a single broom in the air, the one riding it will find himself on the train from Hogwarts faster than you can say Quidditch!"

Lucy paled.

Draco sniggered. "Did you see his face?" He tossed Neville's remembrall in the air. "Maybe if the fat lump had give this a squeeze. He would have remembered to land on his fat a**!"

Lucy and Harry glared at him. "Give it here Malfoy!" Harry stepped forward. Malfoy turned and scowled at him. "No!...I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find!"

He mounted his broom then and flew towards the top of the castle. "How about the roof?" He called back.

Harry clenched his jaw and mounted his broomstick. "What's the matter Potters? A bit beyond your reach?" Draco sneered from his broomstick.

Hermione stopped him. "Harry no way! You all heard what Madam Hooch said! Besides you don't even know how to fly!"

Harry ignored her and kicked off from the ground. "What an idiot!" Hermione shook her head. Lucy frowned at that. Harry was wobbly on his broom. He was going to need help if he was going to outsmart Malfoy without falling off his broom.

Lucy quickly mounted her broom.

"Give it here Malfoy! Or I'll knock you off your broom!" Harry threatened Malfoy. Hermione grabbed Lucy by the arm. "Lucy no! You don't know how to fly either! You'll just get in trouble with him!"

Lucy pulled her arm away from her. "I have to go!" She said, tightening her jaw as she kicked off from the ground. Hermione averted her eyes. "I can't watch this!"

"Oh is that so?" Draco grinned at Harry. Harry made a grab for the remembrall but Draco ducked and did a flip on his broomstick. Lucy was surprised. He's good...where did he learn to do that? She wondered while fixing the boy with a glare.

"Draco Malfoy you give me that remembrall or else!" Lucy flew up into Draco's face. Draco grinned at her. "Or else what? You going to throw one of your books at me?" He laughed.

Lucy growled and zoomed towards Malfoy startling him enough to steal the remembrall from his left hand without his notice at first. She started to fly back to the ground when she realized Malfoy was following her.

"Lucy!...Lucy throw it!" Harry flew up towards the opposite castle wall. Lucy nodded and threw the remembrall. Draco made a grab for it, but missed and nearly slid off of the end of his broom.

Lucy grimaced when she realized her aim was well off. Harry flew after the little glass ball and just managed to catch it before it could smash into a window pane.

Everyone started to cheer as Harry and Lucy touched down on the ground together, Harry holding the remembrall tightly in his hand.

I...I caught it! He grinned at Lucy. Lucy grinned back at him. Nice work partner. She held up a fist. Harry bumped it.

"Harry and Lucy Potter!..." Professor McGonagall came hurrying out onto the field. Lucy gulped. Uh oh...busted!

"Come with me. The both of you." Malfoy started to snicker as the Potters slowly acquiesed to her command.

"Mr. Malfoy! Professor Snape will be with you momentarily!" Professor McGonagall turned a stern eye on the boy whose laughter immediately diminished at that.

Lucy kept her eyes lowered though as Professor McGonagall proceeded to lead her and Harry through the halls of the castle.

She exchanged a nervous look with her brother. What do you suppose she's going to do to us? She wondered.

Harry shrugged. I don't know. Suspend us? Send us home on the train maybe like Madam Hooch said.

Professor McGonagall turned and put a finger to her lips. The Twins fell silent for the rest of the way until Professor McGonagall stopped at a classroom in the dungeon level.

"Wait here please." She motioned to the twins to stop walking. Harry and Lucy briskly nodded their heads.

Lucy took a peek into the classroom and realized it was one of Professor Quirrell's advanced Defense Against Dark Arts classes.

"Excuse me Professor Quirrell!" Professor McGonagall boldly interrupted the lecture. "May I please borrow Wood for a moment please?"

Harry and Lucy exchanged glances. Wood? Was she going to switch them with a magical piece of wood?

Lucy quickly stepped back into the hallway as Professor McGonagall came out leading an older boy wearing Gryffindor robes.

Lucy averted her eyes from him shyly. "Potters, this is Oliver Wood!" Professor McGonagall introduced the boy to them.

Lucy and Harry exchanged another look. "Wood...I have found you a seeker and a chaser!" Professor McGonagall seemed very pleased.

Harry and Lucy couldn't help but be confused though. Huh?...
