Disclaimer: I don't own boys over flowers characters.

Please enjoy this second chapter I bring to you.

Lessons were finished, and it was time for recess. Gu Jun Pyo texted Jan Di, inviting her to join the group for lunch at the F4 private lounge.

She didn't want to turn down such a humble request, so she decided to accompany her new friend to meet the F4. "Let's have lunch together," Jan Di suggested.

Jasmine couldn't help but notice that the entire class was staring at her. Of course, she knew she was attractive and enjoyed the attention, but she couldn't help but feel uneasy about it. "OK," she said, putting her books away.

Jasmine and Jan Di made their way down to the F4 lounge as they got to know each other. Jan Di discovered during the process that her new friend appeared lonely, which reminded her of Ji Hoo who was like that in the beginning.

Jan Di began to wonder if Jasmine would get along with the F4 and hoped she would. They would use some new friends instead of being alone.

The two friends arrived at the lodge. Jan Di invited Jasmine in, and luckily, the F4 were there as well, but doing their own thing while the chefs prepared the food. Woo Bin and Yi Jeong were playing pool, while Jun Pyo was playing video games and Ji Hoo was strumming his guitar.

She cleared her throat because they had not noticed her. "Where are we?" Jasmine asked seeing familiar faces.

"Hey Jan Di-ah," Ji Hoo said as soon as she saw her at the door and smiled. He approached her and kissed her on the cheek and embraced her warmly in his arms. They separated after their hug, then his gaze was drawn to another girl standing beside her. "And who is she?" he wondered aloud, indicating Jasmine.

"You'll soon find out," she said quietly, smiling.

Ji Hoo could instantly smile whenever he saw Jan Di smile. It always made him happy to see her happy, and it kept him calm no matter who she was with. He smiled and organized her bungs on the forehead.

Ji Hoo cleared his throat politely and gave her a small bow. "Everyone, can you pay attention?" Jan Di asked the F3. She held her hips until they were all looking at her. When they saw her, they immediately smiled.

"I made a new friend," she said. She then turned to face Jasmine, who was blushing after Ji Hoo caught her staring at him.

"This is Song Woo Bin," she said as she tapped him on the shoulder. "He appears to have a mental problem, but he is sweet and kind." She beamed at him and went on to say, "he is our big brother here, he will do everything to protect us from harm."

"Hey," Woo Bin said as he approached Jasmine. "And you are?"

"My name is Victoria Jasmine," she said as she extended her hand, and Woo Bin shook it. He was unusually quiet when he saw a beautiful girl and when hen she smiled, his heart skipped a beat.

"Are you American?" he wondered aloud.

"Yes," she confirmed. She began to feel uneasy as a result of all the attention she was receiving.

"And he's So Yi Jeong," Jan Di said, tapping Yi Jeong. "So Yi Jeong appears cold, but he has a soft side," she explained to Jasmine, adding, "He's also the youngest Potter in all of Asia." If you want to learn pottery, he's the best teacher, but you should wear protection." Jan Di could feel Yi Jeong's glare.

"Can you explain?" Jasmine was curious.

"What I'm trying to say is that you'll get pregnant just by glancing at me," Jan Di replied as she ran away before he could attack her

"She's lying," Yi Jeong said, frowning at how he was introduced and walking over to Jasmine. "And I'm So Yi Jeong, nice to meet you," he said, bowing.

"Nice to meet you as well," she smiled and returned the bow.

"And this is Gu Jun Pyo" Jan Di frowned at her boyfriend who still had his eyes on the screen. She went and pinched his ear forcing him to turn around.

"Aish, Geum Jan Di...can't you see I'm making the highest score" he yelled

"First, meet my new friend, then return to your game," she chastised him. "Jasmine, this is Gu Jun Pyo, something is wrong with his head," Jan Di said. Jasmine watched the F3 laughing at Gu Jun Pyo's pouting and returning to his game.

"And this is my best friend, Yoon Ji Hoo. He's a music expert who plays almost every instrument and he's also kind and sweet. And you can communicate with him in English better than the others." Jan Di approached Ji Hoo, and of course, he welcomed her hug, wrapping his arm around her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Jasmine." He bowed slightly.

"Nice to meet you as well," Jasmine said with a smile. Her gaze remained fixed on him for some time. She observed him gracefully guiding Jan Di onto the couch. Jasmine looked at Ji Hoo inviting Jan Di to sit next to him. Jan Di turned to look at Woo Bin who was giving his couch to Jasmine.

Ji Hoo began strumming his guitar once more at the melody he was composing while Jan Di listened to what he was playing. All pairs of eyes were on Jasmine who had her eyes on Ji Hoo.

Food was served. Jasmine watched how Ji Hoo cut all the food on his plate and exchanged it with that of Geum Jan Di.

Jan Di immediately thanked him and she began eating.

Jasmine from what she could see, both Ji Hoo and Jan Di were very close. She could tell their relationship wasn't any ordinary friendship. There was more to it and she longed to have such genuine attention and friendship.

"Sunbae," Jan Di said as she chewed her meat. "the meat is very delicious today, don't you think?" she asked him but all the F4 replied.

"Geum Jan Di," Gu Jun Pyo scoffed. "the only thing you know is to eat, why don't you become a chef?" he teased

"If I become one—I might eat all the food in the kitchen" she responded with flushed cheeks. She barely noticed how Ji Hoo added some meat for her. She continued mumbling and then Woo Bin put more rice on her plate.

"Why are you giving me more food today? I will be stuffed and won't be able to do my shift later" she told them

"Because you said the meat was delicious today" Ji Hoo replied ruffling her hair softly. "Eat up" he encouraged her putting some of his food in her mouth and Jun Pyo wiping away that slipped off her mouth.

"Mmm...sunbae," she pouted as she ate.

Then Yi Jeong smirked devilishly at her and stuffed her mouth with two pieces of meat in her mouth.

"You're so mean," she told him after finishing the last bite.

"Here," Ji Hoo gave her a glass of water

Jasmine kept on looking at the way the F4 were doting on her new friend. It was the first time to see a commoner being loved by four rich handsome men. They all genuinely cared for her and envied having such friends in her life.

"So Jasmine," Woo Bin started "what course will you be doing?

"I want to do international Business management" she replied. She started to get comfortable, "so...is it OK if I call you by your name?"

"We have no problem with that, I'm right guys?" Woo Bin said.

"Yes," the F3 replied in unison.

"Gu Jun Pyo, what course are you doing?" Jasmine asked, but her only interest was Ji Hoo. She wanted to get comfortable with him but the guy seemed comfortable with only Jan Di.

"International Business Administration" he replied.

"How about you, Ji Hoo" even the taste of his name on her tongue was sweet.

Jan Di looked at Ji Hoo who hadn't replied. She then turned to Jasmine who seemed to be interested in what Ji Hoo would say.

Is Jasmine love-stricken like I was?

"Sunbae," Jan Di threw an angry pout at him.

"What's wrong Jan Di?" his voice was full of concern—at seeing her angry pout.

"Jasmine asked you a question?"

Ji Hoo realized that his mind was somewhere else. He had been holding Jan Di's hand, stroking it softly, enjoying the feel of her warm hand in his and she hadn't pulled away from his grasp the entire time. Whenever he laced their hands, it always felt right. He began to wish he hadn't gone to Paris and maybe things would be different. But it didn't matter, he knew now seeing her happy was all that mattered to him

"Oh, sorry," he said apologetically. "what was the question again?"

"Which course are you doing?" she asked again.

"Doing music and business and maybe do medicine in the future" he replied. Ji Hoo turned to see Jan Di was no longer pouting. It always felt nice whenever he made her happy.

"Wow!" Jasmine exclaimed "that's awesome Ji Hoo" she proceeded with touching his arm.

Ji Hoo tensed and removed his hand from her grip immediately. The F3 and Jan Di turned to look at Ji Hoo who didn't like the feel of another person touching him. Jan Di was the only girl that touched him and he didn't feel uncomfortable. It always felt nice even more when she wrapped her arms around his chest when he gives her a ride or when she wrapped her arms around his neck especially when he did something nice for her.

"I'm sorry," Jasmine said. It was the first time in her life to see a man who didn't want to be touched by a girl. Much less a pretty girl

'I will make him soften up to me like he is with her

"It's fine," he turned to Jan Di who was eating her favorite fruit 'an orange' "Jan Di-ah, it's time for your shift, I will take you there"

"Sunbae, I wanted to go with Jasmine to meet Ga Eul" she touched his arm and began swinging it. "can you give us a ride in your car, please...?" she gave him that look that got her what she wanted

Woo Bin looked at Ji Hoo who was completely comfortable with Jan Di touching him. The F3 were aware of the arrival of Jan Di in their lives brought some changes. Ji Hoo had come out of his shell, something Seo Hyun had failed to do. Ji Hoo even drove for the first time because of her. They therefore concluded that Ji Hoo could possibly be genuinely in love with Jan Di even though he hides it well.

The F3 watched Ji Hoo avoiding her gaze but he was fighting a losing battle. He was always helpless against those doe eyes. "Yes, I will give you a ride" he responded in a defeated voice.

"Yee!" Jan Di squealed and threw her arms around his neck and embraced him. "You're the best," she said and continued holding tightly.

"But I want to talk to you" he brought her to arm's length.

"OK," she replied. Ji Hoo led her to the private room in the lounge. The others especially Jun Pyo didn't mind. He was getting used to their bond after all he won her heart even though she hadn't confessed to him yet.

"I thought Jan Di was your girlfriend?" Jasmine directed her question to Gu Jun Pyo who was enjoying his meal

"Yes," he replied

"Then why would you allow her to have a close relationship with your best friend?"

"Because Ji Hoo was the only one who never looked down on her ever since she entered school" Yi Jeong replied. "While we bullied her, Ji Hoo was the one who protected her most" Woo Bin added.

"Oh, so they are really close" she mumbled under her breath

"Yes, why do you ask?" Jun Pyo raised his brow suspiciously. He could tell that this new girl was having some liking for his best friend. Maybe he could help her with it.

"If you like him, we can give you tips on how to win him over," Yi Jeong said.

"No...no...I don't" she defended herself and looked away flustered.

"It's fine, no need to be shy," Woo Bin said grinning at her.

Ji Hoo sat Jan Di on the bed and he took a seat as well. He then put his hand in the coat and pulled out a red velvet small box. "This is for you," he said tentatively

Jan Di smiled immediately, "...for me sunbae?" she said smiling.

"Hmm..." Ji Hoo nodded. He watched Jan Di open the box. She gasped

"Sunbae," she said in a small voice. It was a personalized name(Ji Hoo and Jan Di) golden necklace with an infinity charm and the shape of a heart. "It's beautiful," she said admiring the necklace.

"You like it?" he asked hesitantly. He thought it was wrong to give such an expensive gift to his friend but not just a friend but the girl of his best friend. To be honest, he had requested this right after he came back from Paris. When he found out about the relationship between Jun Pyo and her, he held back and decided to keep it until it was the right time.

"I do..." she hesitated. Recalling how she had lost the necklace Jun Pyo had given her. "But what if I lose it and you ended up hating me..."

"Don't say that." Ji Hoo replied softly "here, let me put it on you," he said. He got the delicate necklace and gently wrapped it around her neck all while gazing in her eyes. He felt himself lean in towards her lips but froze while his hands were still on her neck. "I could never hate you" he whispered and proceeded to kiss her forehead softly. His lips lingered there for a moment before pulling back.

"Gomawo Ji Hoo sunbae," she said flustered. Her body began to warm up after the kiss

Ji Hoo raised his hand to her chest where it settled, "This necklace will forever be a symbol of our unconditional bond" he told her

"Mmm..." she nodded. She then wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest.

Ji Hoo wasn't surprised but the feel of her arms around him was still electrically charged. He instantly wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her gently while pressing his lips on her hair.

"I have something for you as well" she pulled away from him and dipped her arm in her bag. She removed a wooden well-vanished box and handed it to him.

"What's this," Ji Hoo inquired. He smiled at the way she stretched her arms for him to take it.

"Open it" she encouraged him.

Ji Hoo slowly complied. He took the box and hesitated to open it wondering what was in there. After pondering for a few seconds, he opened it. "Wow, Jan Di-ah," he said. His eyes widen with surprise. It was a Jade flute and a fun attached to it. "where did you get this?" he asked quickly looking at a fun that had on small writings on it.

"I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins"

"I got it from downtown, at a Chinese black market" she replied. "the flute is actually a legendary magical treasure" she whispered but Ji Hoo heard her.

Ji Hoo grinned, ready to tease her but he stopped when the flute played a soft melody tune. It had played when she found it. "See I told you" she recalled the old gentleman saying that the flute would play when you meet your other half. And it would give signals when the one you love is in danger

"It's...actually playing," he said surprised. He placed it back in the wooded box and hid it in his coat.

"This is wonderful Jan Di-ah," he smiled admiring the flute and the fun "I will check it out later but first things first," he told her and led her to the door not to draw any suspicions

"What was that?" Jun Pyo asked after hearing a soft tune. His eyes twitched and then looked to his friends

"It came from that private room where Ji Hoo is" Jasmine said pointing to where Jan Di and Ji Hoo had gone to. "It sounds like music"

The sound was once again heard. "Yes, it sounds like music," Woo Bin confirmed.

"Let's check it out," Yi Jeong said and they walked to the door but as soon as they reached it, Ji Hoo opened it.

"What are you doing?" Jan Di asked them

"Didn't you hear a music sound?" Jun Pyo asked

"No," Ji Hoo said and turned to Jan Di. He exchanged eye contact with her but Jasmine saw it. She saw him clutching his coat tightly

Are they hiding something from us?

"Jan Di-ah, I will drive you to your shift" he grasped her arm and led her out of the lounge with Jasmine tailing behind them

"I heard music play" Jun Pyo muttered.

"Me too..." Yi Jeong said. He looked to where Ji Hoo was leading Jan Di out of the lounge. Jasmine was following behind them closely.

Ji Hoo opened the back door of his car for them to enter and after making sure Jan Di was comfortable, he went to the driver's and took the wheel breathing in and out heavily. He still felt uncomfortable but if Jan Di was around, he would be willing to do it.

"Sunbae," She moved forward and touched his shoulder and squeezed it a little. "I shouldn't have forced you-"

"It's fine," he replied squeezing her hand on his shoulder assuring her.

"Am here," She said softly before returning to her seat.

"What's wrong?" Jasmine asked Ji Hoo who seemed tense at the wheel.

"He's not used to driving" Jan Di replied. And went back to admiring the new necklace.

"Oh," Jasmine wanted to get more information but she felt it wouldn't be easy. Maybe it could be because he was in a car accident before and he has a trauma. 'I could help him with it'

"You know, I'm taking you to meet my childhood friend," Jan Di said excitedly.

"So what is she like?"

Jan Di pondered on how to describe her childhood best friend. "Hmm..." She tapped on her cheek before she could answer. "To sum it up, she down to earth" was the best word she could come up with.

As Ji Hoo drove, he kept looking through the side mirror, staring at Jan Di who seem to be admiring the necklace he got her. He smiled a bit and returned his attention to the road.

Unbeknownst to them, there was a car following them.

Ji Hoo drove up to the porridge shop to drop her off.

Ji Hoo quietly opened the door for Jasmine and Jan Di and led them to the porridge shop. "Don't worry, Sunbae. You don't have to walk us up." Jan Di smiled. Ji Hoo cast a glance at Jasmine, who was staring at them intently.

He nodded briefly.

"Thank you for the gift, sunbae," she said with a genuine smile and a gentle kiss on his cheek.

"I'll see you later because we haven't finished talking yet."

"OK, you should go." He nodded and squeezed her arm before turning to walk back to the car.

"This is Jasmine, Ga Eul. My new friend at school"

"Oh, hello," Ga Eul said, bowing. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Ga Eul," she said with a smile and a bow. Returning the same gesture. She then observed Ga Eul, taking in her appearance.

'She's lovely,' she thought.

The three of them sat at a table in the porridge shop. Butler Lee had been asked not to follow them by Jasmine. He was pleased to see the miss making new friends. If Jasmine was being honest with herself, she was relieved as well. She had intended to stay alone at Shinhwa, as she had at her previous schools, but it was nice to have a friend or two with whom to share experiences.

Jan Di had even introduced her to her friend. To say the least, this girl was down to earth. Jan Di was the polar opposite of her.

Jan Di appeared to be reckless and angry, whereas Ga Eul appeared to be calm and patient. Jasmine found it amusing that the two could be such close friends. Not to mention Ji Hoo's calm demeanor around Jan Di...

'This will be interesting,' she thought.

The three became closer as they learned more about Jasmine. She, like the F4, was quite lonely. She had parents, but their housekeeper butler Lee had been caring for her since she was a child.

She told them about her life experiences at her previous school. How lonely it was to have people fawning over you but then abandon you after you gave them what they wanted.

"Ahhh," Jan Di sighed. "I can tell you've had a difficult life."

Ga Eul gave a nod.

"Don't worry," Ga Eul and Jan Di said, "you have us from now on, you have us and the F4" they hugged.

"Thank you," she said, tears of sadness and joy welling up in her eyes.

"We will never leave you."

"Look at the state of this restaurant..." grumbled the old man. "What a pity!" He walked over to a table in the back and lowered himself into the seat with an exaggerated groan. The man then removed his hat and tossed it onto the seat beside him.

The three girls looked up at their Master, who was suddenly alert. And Choon-Sik ushered them over to the man's side. When it was Jan Di's turn to serve the next customer, she approached him while Ga Eul and Jasmine stood back. The man's hair was greying, and he had a new patch of stubble on his chin.

When Jan Di approached, it was impossible to ignore the strong fish odor that lingered on the gentleman. Jan Di assumed he was a fisherman, fresh from the lake. Jan Di thought he looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't place him. Perhaps she'd waited on him before...

She shook her head and smiled at the customer. Instead of responding, the gruff old man simply barked, "Jajangmyeon!"

Jan Di furrowed her brow and looked to her friends, but her best friend seemed as puzzled as she was about the request.

"Um, I'm sorry, Harabeoji, but we don't offer that here," she politely explained, turning back.

"Yes, we're a porridge shop," Ga Eul said quietly behind her friend.

The old man gave the girls an annoyed look before saying, "Jajangmyeon!" again and again.

Ga Eul reminded the customer that they didn't serve it and suggested he go to the Chinese restaurant across the street, but Master cut him off. "I can do it," he declared, rolling up his sleeves in preparation.

The girls and their boss stood motionless; their gazes fixed on the old man as he inhaled the meal that Master had prepared. He finished his meal and slumped back into his seat. He sat for only a moment before rising and walking toward the door.

Jan Di intervened. "Excuse me, Harabeoji...," she began cautiously, unsure how to approach the situation. After all, no one had ever tried to simply walk away without paying the bill. "Are you sure you're not going to pay for the meal?"

The elderly man mumbled. "Why should I have to pay to eat that garbage?"

Jan Di responded with a polite smile. "However, Harabeoji, you ate it, so you should pay..."

In response, the elderly man simply growled. Jan Di returned her attention to Ga Eul and Jasmine, who were having no patience of the man's antics. Jasmine seemed to be extremely comfortable in the porridge shop

The three girls argued back and forth about how much to charge for the specialty meal. To get their attention, the old man cleared his throat. When they turned around, the old man pulled a fish from who knows where—perhaps his pocket? It seemed like an odd place to keep one, but where else could he have gotten it?

Jan Di squealed when she was given the slimy fish. She rolled her sleeves down over her hands and grabbed the frantically flopping creature. In response, the elderly man simply growled. Jan Di returned her attention to the gentleman. The man looked at the three girls, especially Jan Di, for a moment before saying to Master, "Next time, spicy catfish stew!" and exiting the shop.

"Is there going to be another time?" the girls asked in unison

Jan Di shrieked again and rushed the thing over to her boss after the three stared at the man for only a few seconds. "Master!" she exclaimed, pleading with him to relieve her of her burden. Master had a firm grip on the fish.

"Wasn't he odd?" Jasmine chimed in.

"To put it lightly," Ga Eul observed.

The girls cast glum glances at their master, who appeared overly depressed. But there was no doubt about why. The old man had insulted his cooking and then refused to pay the bill!

"Don't worry about him, Master," Ga Eul assured him.

"Yeah, I think he has Alzheimer's or something," Jan Di speculated, hoping to cheer up her depressed boss.

Ga Eul walked over to the table and took the bowl of leftover black noodles. She placed it on the counter and stared at it intently. "Hey, can we...try it?" she inquired.

Master simply shrugged his shoulders.

So, they each took a pair of chopsticks and a portion of the remaining noodles. Their gazes locked after they had tasted. Both pairs' eyes widened in surprise. "Delicious!" they exclaimed in unison.

"Jasmine," Jan Di said, holding out the food. " Try some"

Jasmine hesitated for a moment and then opened her mouth and ate some. "How is it?" the master asked her

"It's delicious," she complimented.

The three girls turned to the master who still had a glom look on his face. He squeezed the fish in his hands giving it a glare before chopping it.

Later in the evening...

Ji Hoo had returned to the porridge shop. He sat in the shop and was offered a bowl of abalone and a glass of Juice. He ate quietly while Jan Di changed into her evening attire. Jasmine and Ga Eul sat at the table, talking, but she kept looking over at Ji Hoo's table. She continued to observe him as he ate here and there, never taking his gaze away from his food. She took in his soft yet masculine facial features. His light skin, soft lips, and long hair.

'Jasmine, please stop.' She scolded herself and averted her gaze so as not to be caught staring.

Jan Di entered and noticed Jasmine staring at her sunbae. She smiled to herself and approached him.

"Sunbae," she smiled at him and relaxed when he smiled back.

"Let's go," he said, taking her hand in his and kissing the two girls goodnight.

"Where are you going with Jan Di-ah, Ji Hoo?" Jasmine inquired.

He replied, "Jan Di has something to do," and walked away with Jan Di.

Jan Di waved goodbye to Ga Eul and Jasmine before departing.

From the window of the porridge shop, Jasmine observed Ji Hoo assisting in the placement of a helmet over Jan Di's head. As she wrapped her small hand around his waist, she observed how he smiled.

"Ji Hoo appears to be in love with Jan Di," she remarked after making an observation.

"He is," Ga Eul said. "But Jan Di doesn't notice," she chuckled and returned to her seat.

Ji Hoo packed his bike and helped Jan Di off, he pulled his bag and they walked to the river. "What's this place?" she asked looking around.

"This," he said walking at the edge and she followed him. She stood by his side and looked out to the other end of the river. "This is a small river that connects to Han River"

"Oh," she wondered why they were there in a dark place.

He looked at her, she was having a confused expression on her face. "Are you wondering why I brought you here?"

"Hmm..." she nodded

He smiled and brought his hands to her small ones. He captured them and ran his thumb over her knuckles making her shiver. "Jan Di, I want this small place to be our special place just like the stairwell, the bench in the woods and the pool"

"OK sunbae" she beamed at him. Then a cold breeze passed over making her shrink. She inevitably wrapped her small hands around his waist.

"Are you cold?" he asked running his hands on her back.

"A bit," she replied squeezing him and it was that sound again.

The flute playing the soft melody

"I went to the black market today after I dropped you off," he said suddenly.

"Oh," she pulled out of his arms and gazed into his eyes.

"The old man said that..." he leaned to her level. His eyes glued to her and then traveled to her lips. The lips he still yarns to kiss but doesn't know how to do it.

"Jan Di…" He spoke tenderly.

"Sunbae…" She replied softly

He held her shoulders. He leaned in slowly, knowing he was taking a huge risk. He tested the waters by gently brushing her lips with his own.
