It had been a nice life while it lasted, full of luxury and some form of superficial happiness.

There had been smiles, laughter and cheer yet sadly those years were to be the last of many fond memories.

Noel had once had Beautifully shoulder length hair that flowed like unfurled ribbons down her face and sloshed around like waves about her neck.

However since the death of her parents she had it cut down to where her raven locks were right below her chin.

It shocked her aunt Feliciana at first but instead of giving her a motherly lecture she greeted her with a big warm hug.

Feliciana was a petite brunette, she was loud, proud and had a strong Brooklyn accent.

She wore bright red lipstick and often her hair had it's own personality, it was almost as outrageous as she was.

Feliciana saw her hair as being a challenge, a mountain that everyone should see and that's just what it was a Mt. Everest of hair.

Auntie Fell slightly resembled her niece in many ways, they were after all related but Noel, her niece was more of a darker version of Fell.

Noel had eyes of mystery, Eyes that slightly slanted downwards; they almost had a cat like quality to then and they were nearly bordering the color of violet, although in all respects her eyes were really just a very somber navy blue.

Noel had a tiny nose, almost the size of a waist coat button.

She had a rather sneering kind of mouth, full of sarcasm and dry wit.

She however was not petite, she had in fact developed a rather shapely figure.

Her waist was a overly rounded hourglass and her thighs broad, bulky and muscular as for her bust well that was considerably hidden by her often loose fitting clothes but in all respects she was well over a 34 D.

Let's just say she had a extremely ample supply in that department.

Although she was nearly over 25 she was going through a sort of strange goth stage, she wore black and she chose a dark plum lipstick.

However the one thing Noel and her aunt did not share was the loud and proud voice that lit up the room with it's outrageous nature.

Feliciana did her best to sound classy and refined but it never suited her and so she always resorted back to her Brooklyn roots.

Noel had a small voice, deep and soulful, even as a child she sounded like she was pushing 30 since it was so sonorous and subdued.

It was a smooth, dulcet and mature voice that sounded like it was full of wisdom and indeed she was.

She had wisdom well beyond her years.

Auntie Fell still saw Noel as a child and in many ways Noel was like a daughter and Feliciana had been like a another mother to her.

So when she heard that her niece had lost her parents she immediately called Noel and invited her to stay in her home in the Hamptons.

Apparently Noel's parents had been very rich but a few bad investments had left the family destitute.

Unfortunately Noel was not aware of this until after the death of her parents.

There was enough money to put her through college but after her graduation it was then the money was starting to run thin.

There was meant to be a large inheritance for Noel but the bank took that money to pay for the many debts that her father had put the family into.

Thankfully she didn't have to pay off the debts herself but it had cost her the inheritance she could have received.

"What of your inheritance sweetie?"

Feliciana hollered into the phone while picking her teeth with a spare toothpick she carried on her person at all times.

Feliciana did not come from money, rather she had married into it.

She'd married a kind, rich widower that produced daytime Soap Operas on TV.

He had also been a writer and a director as well and he had one of those frightfully forced British accents.

He was unfortunately for Feliciana addicted to his work so at times he was hardly home but since she had inherited 3 children from his previous marriage, she busied herself with taking care of them, giving them all the love that she could spare.

Feliciana was dramatic, slightly selfish at times, but underneath a that drama and makeup she had a heart of gold.

She was giving and always loving and she was rarely judgmental.

"I don't have an inheritance anymore, Fell, my father spent it all to pay off all his debts."

"Oy vey that's terrible sweetheart.

So where are you headed now?

The homeless shelter?"

"Very funny Fell but yes at this rate I might end up in a home for battered women either that or Cardboard City."

"Oh trust me that's not going to happen.

Believe me you're not going to end up homeless at least not on my watch.

You can live here, Stefan I'm sure won't mind.

He's always been fond of you.

Oh my goodness old Algee is going to be so pleased you're coming.

Oh he probably already knows, since he loves to listen into all my conversations.

Algee get off the line!

I can hear you breathing in my ear!

It's obnoxious.

Stephen is not paying the bill so we can listen to you breathe.

It's not a turn on, it's more of a turn off and besides you're too late, I'm already married, to your Boss!"

Algee was the Butler.

His full name was Algernon Calvin Endeavorous Lumeria.

He was unmarried, pushing his 50's and he was slightly overworked.

Stephen Knightdale had enough money for an entire staff but instead he chose to hire one British Butler, who did work what was equivalent to the labor of 10 people sometimes more.

He was the maid, the housekeeper, the chef, the homemaker, the gardener, the dishwasher and even on some days he served as a chauffeur.

He a had highly distinguished look as most butlers should, however his face was satirical and his mouth was always slightly upturned as if he was holding back laughter behind his closed smile.

He had alluring voice like butter sliding over warm toast.

When he spoke it was almost as if he was sighing at the great boredom of life.

He had witty periwinkle eyes that were always twinkling with humor.

He had one of those round and rugged faces that was etched with wisdom and lines that only were gathered from smiling frequently.

He had honey roasted caramel hair that had been thinning over the last 20 years.

He wore knock off Armani suits, since he was so frugal with money but truth be told his biggest splurge spender was on his passion for cheap chianti and cognac and his love for cheese.

Overall he was a considerably handsome man but no one ever noticed because he was always hiding in the background.

He was outspoken and was a comedian by nature.

He'd often make sarcastic remarks, he had a rather cruel and twisted sense of humor, that bit the air like a Pitbull snapping at a chew toy.

He had perfect comedic timing and he had always made Noel laugh whenever she'd come to visit.

Noel and Algernon had always had a wonderful chemistry, they hit it off immediately and they often would have friendly witty wars with one another.

"I very much look forward to your arrival Miss Pereira".

Algee's voice chimed in followed by a dull but rather loud click.

Algee had a long history with the Knightdale family, in fact Algee had grown up with Stephen as a boy.

His father had been the family Butler in London and little Algee would often play with Stephen while his father was at work.

The Knightdale Family were a kind and strangely giving family and they paid for Algee's education at Oxford.

So Algee was very well educated but because of that long history and strong connection with Stephen, Stephen kept Algee as the Butler and he allowed him to stay in his Hampton home since he didn't have the heart to fire him.

Algee might have been way out of line at times, he'd often give advice when it wasn't needed, he constantly eavesdropped on everyone's conversation, whether it be on the intercom, the key hole or on the phone, he'd always find a way to listen in.

He was extremely nosy, he loved to gossip on his spare time but overall he was sweet and sensitive, he had a noble character and he was a gentleman with a beautiful soul and his heart was certainly in the right place.

He was fiercely loyal to Stephen, his children and even Feliciana who was some what of a newcomer in Algee's eyes.

"Anyhow you can come live here.

I'd love the company with Stephen away most of the time.

Oh, Noe, I'm awfully lonely these days.

All day I watch those stupid soap operas, you know the ones I was almost in and well it gets old real fast let me tell you."

"I don't know, Fell, I don't want to be a burden to any of you.

I literally have no money, I should probably get some sort of job and I have no idea how I'd even get there, you know to your place.

I suppose I could take a greyhound".

"A Greyhound?

Are you kidding?

If it's money you want that's no problem, your uncle has plenty of that laying around, pouring in, coming in, you get the picture.

You don't need to work.

Working is overrated anyway.

Believe me I've tried it and well it's hard work.

It's really no fun trust me.

Just give me your location and I'll have a limo pick you up.

Oh by the way where are you?"

"I'm at a bus stop in Boston."

"Heading where?

Greyhounds don't head to the Hamptons believe me.

They go around fancy neighborhoods and then drop you off in the slums.

Plus you don't want to have to deal with slobs drooling on your shoulder while they catch some z's.

It's not a romantic experience.

You want a worthwhile experience take the subway.

It's a rough ride but at least you get some entertainment, with the muggings and the hoodlums on the run.

I once saw a kid with one of those satchel like sport bags, I found out later he'd robbed a bank.

No you just stay where you are and somebody will be there in a jiffy. Algee! Did you ever find the keys to the limo?"
