[July 30th, Junes Food Court, Junes, Inaba]

Three days had passed since Mitsuo Kubo had been arrested. As Expected the police charged him with the murders but the team had decided to keep an eye on things in the meantime.

Yu had decided to spend the day with Marie. After spending some more time showing the strange girl around town, Yu finally brought her to Junes in order to rest.

"I'm thirsty. I want something to drink." Marie stated demandingly "Something that isn't sweet. And not water!"

Before Yu could do anything Teddie suddenly ran up and interrupted.

"Sensei! Welcome!" he greeted excitedly "Oooooh! Who's this girl?"

"Ah yes, Marie has only met, Yukiko, Chie and Yosuke so far." Gawain realised.

"It couldn't hurt to introduce her to more of our friends," Nero said.

"What the heck is this thing?" Marie asked giving Teddie a funny look "It's moving...Gross."

Avenger snickered at this as did several of Yu's personas.

"Bwuh!? How rude!" Teddie sniffed with what Yu believed was mock hurt. "How can you say that about cute little moi?"

"And it talks... What's it made out of?" Marie asked with a grossed expression still present on her face.

"This Teddie is fifty percent kindness, by volume," Teddie stated proudly clearing his throat.

"Huh? ...What about the other half?" Marie tilted her head in confusion.

"Teddie fur." The bear replied simply with a grin.

"...Kindness and... fur...?" Marie raised her eyebrow in confusion.

"Don't worry about it, most of the things he says don't make much sense to us either." Nursery Rhyme said appearing in spirit form.

Yosuke suddenly strolled up to them.

"Oh, hey, it's Yu and Marie!" Yosuke said "Soo…..Whatcha up to this time? Taking a tour of Junes?"

"Greetings Ms Marie." Diarmuid greeted her as he appeared in spirit form.

"I don't need a tour. I already saw it." Marie grouched giving a dismissive wave to Diarmuid.

"Whoooooooa! Yosuke got deeeeenied!" Teddie chuckled teasingly.

"Shut up! It's nothing like that!" Yosuke snapped at the bear who kept grinning impishly.

"Actually it kinda is." Avenger quipped before a look of realisation came over him. "Wait she can see and hear us?"

It was then that Kanji arrived strolling into the food court apparently looking for Yosuke.

"Yo, Yosuke. Y'know that CD I was askin' about...Uh, who's this?"

"Who's this old-timer?" Marie asked tilting her head at Kanji.

"O... Old-timer!?"

"I see what you mean." Yu nodded examining Kanji.

"Yeah, same here." Yosuke agreed.

"Who are ya callin' old!?" Kanji yelled angrily.

"Kanji, what are you yelling about?" Rise demanded as she joined them "I thought you came to talk with Yosu- Oh! Sen..." Rise stopped upon spotting Marie, she strolled up to the girl and got very close to her "Whoa…" she turned to face Yu "Senpai? Who is this girl? What is she doing with you?"

"Her name's Marie" Yu informed her simply.

"I know this person" Marie stated looking over Rise "I heard about her from Margaret. 'Someone even I can't handle.'"

"That's not how it goes!" Rise snapped with annoyance "It's 'Something even I can handle!'"

"...That's not so different." Marie said after a few seconds.

"Yes, it is!"

"Yosuke-senpai, what's with this girl!?"

"Me!?" the boy straightened with surprise "Er, she's Yu's mate..."

A sudden silence fell across the group.

"Can he not put his foot his mouth for one day?" Chu Chulainn sighed placing his palm upon his face.

"Drat, another rival, I'll have to rethink our strategy." Tamamo No Mae growled with annoyance.

"What!? 'Mate'...?" Rise looked shocked.

"Sorry... I think I just added fuel to the fire." Yosuke sweatdropped upon realising his mistake

"Huh? Heyyyy!" Chie and Yukiko interrupted the awkward moment before it could get worse walking up to group "Oh, everyone's here."

"Oh, Marie-chan's with you, too? Hello." Yukiko greeted the cap wearing girl.

"Senpais, you know her?" Kanji asked.

"We had fun together the other day. Right, Marie-chan?" Yukiko explained.

"I don't recognise you. Which high school are you from?" Kanji asked curiously "Wait... You're even younger than me. Which middle school are you from?"

"Middle school? What's that supposed to mean? You're pretty rude, old-timer." Marie said.

"Why do you keep calling me old!?" Kanji demanded angrily.

"Hey do me a favour and take off your shirt, and your bra while you're at it!" Avenger cried with a perverted smile on his face.

A silence fell over the group again, the girls had looks of disgust (none of which bothered Avenger in the slightest) while the guys wisely decided their mouths were best kept shut, save for Teddie who seemed rather pleased with the idea.

The girls looked ready to yell but were cut off when Marie spoke up, a thoughtful look on her face as she remembered something.

"Margaret told me what do if something like this happened," Marie said aloud as she slowly approached the tattooed persona.

"Huh?" Avenger became confused when somehow Marie's hands gripped his ethereal shoulders, holding in place. "How in the-GAH!" Avenger let out a cry of agony as Marie drove her knee into his crotch with surprising strength for someone of her size.

The persona's dropped to the ground clutching his crown jewels and while crying out about the impossibility of the act as he was still in spirit form. Seeing this, all the male persona's chose to return to their master's souls, not wishing to be around a girl who could crotch shot them while they were in spirit form.

"He had that coming," Yukiko stated with a nod.

"Yup." Chie agreed "So how'd you do that?"

"I….just did it," Marie told her, unsure of what else to say.

"Y'know, I don't know much about her, either." Yosuke stepped in deciding a quick change of subject was in order. "How old are you, Marie? Where you live? Are you here on vacation?"

"I don't... I don't remember." Marie confessed sadly as her expression became a sad one.

"Yosuke! That's really insentive!" Chie glared at the boy angrily.

"Yeah, Senpai. Not very sub-buttle of you." Kanji stated.

"Hey, you brought it up! ...Wait, what?" Yosuke backpedalled realising a problem with what Kanji had said: "What did you just say...?"

"Sub-buttle," Yu said bluntly getting snickers from his Persona's.

"Did you think the word "subtle" is pronounced sub-buttle?" Rise asked looking at her classmate with a raised eyebrow

"Kanji's got a sub-buttle." Teddie joked with a laugh

"Sh-Shut up! Quit talking about my butt!" the boy yelled with embarrassment.

"Oh, ugh... Why'd you make me think about your butt!?" Rise demanded angrily "You're the most un-subtle person ever."

"The un-subtle sub-buttle..." Yukiko snorted "Haha, hahaha, hahahahaha!"

"Ha... Ha." Marie let out a small chuckle.

Yu spent time with their friends and Marie after a few hours passed everyone decided that they were done hanging out and went home.

"...Those were funny people." Marie said "I don't get them. They're loud and stupid…..So stupid. "Sub-buttle.." Marie let out a snicker.

Despite her complaints Yu could tell that Marie appeared to have enjoyed herself.

"Did they all face their true selves?" Marie asked

Yu merely nodded at her.

"I see..." Marie paused in silence for a few moments "...I was thinking... Maybe I should work on trying to get my memory back. W-Well, one of these days...they look like they're having fun...I wanna be like that."

"I'll help you." Yu offered.

"Please do…..I don't know what to do." Marie explained "I'm not asking you to help right now, but when the time comes; I'm going to count on you. Let's go home now…..Oh, but let's go by the river on the way!"

He had no reason to refuse, so before taking Marie back to the Velvet Room they walked by the river.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[August 1st, Samegawa Floodplain, Inaba]

A couple of days later Yu found himself dragged by Marie to the Samegawa floodplain.

"So, about my memories... What do you think I should do?" She asked Yu who had as much idea on what do as Marie did.

"Are there any clues?" Yu asked.

"No, nothing." Marie reached into her bag and pulled out the bamboo comb she showed him a while ago. "If you remember, I told you that I had this when I first started remembering. Will this help?"

"It looks its made of bamboo" Yu pointed out.

" ...Bamboo? What is that rare?...But this doesn't look like the ones at Junes. They don't look anything like this. " Marie stated with interest "It seems older... Do you know any stores that might sell stuff like this?"

Yu thought about it for a moment until he remembered the perfect place to start searching. Tatsumi Textile's which the store that Kanji's mother ran. Even if they didn't sell this type of thing then hopefully they could at least find out more about this comb and what it might mean. "Tatsumi Textile's which Kanji's mother runs might know what to make of this."

"That old-timer's place? Hmmm... That's kinda surprising." Marie said.

She nodded and they all headed to Tatsumi Textiles, when they got there both Rise and Kanji were in the shop.

"Yo welco- oh, Sempai." Kanji greeted.

"Ooooh, Yu, what a coincidence! Oh, Marie's with you too?" Rise greeted

"Oh, I see. Wait... Don't tell me the two of you are on a date..." Rise said nervously.

"No it's nothing like that" Yu replied calmly before the situation could get out of control.

"Sheesh, don't scare me like that. Hey, Kanji! Yu wants to talk to you." Rise said relieved.

"Huh? What's up?" Kanji asked.

Marie pulled out her comb and showed it to Kanji.

"Do you know what this is? Tell me anything you know. Anything at all." She demanded.

"This thing? It's uh... It's a comb. A pretty damn old one." Kanji told her which made.

"We know that we were wondering if you could tell us more about it." Yu pressed for more details.

"That's a comb? It doesn't look like it's very easy to use, with that shape." Rise commented.

"So, what do you want from me? You need me to figure out where this thing came from?" Kanji asked.

Marie nodded in confirmation.

"Er, I don't know anything, but..." He looked at Rise as if to ask if she knew anything about the comb, but she shook her head no. "Hey! Mom! Come over here! Yo!"

"I hear you, I hear you. Don't shout so loud- Oh, hello. I haven't seen you in a while. Is this girl another of Kanji's friends?" Kanji's mother asked coming into the room.

"She wanted to know about this comb. You know anything, Mom?" Kanji asked dodging the question.

"A comb? Let me see..." Kanji's mother began examining the comb that Marie held out to her "Hmm…..this is very old, I'm sorry. We don't carry anything like this one."

"Can you tell me anything about it?" Marie asked eagerly "Anything at all."

"...I've never seen a comb shaped like this. I don't think it would be for everyday use." Kanji's mother explained, "You may have better luck asking at a museum or a gallery than at a clothing store."

"Museum? Uh, so it's rare?" Rise asked what we were all thinking.

"Well... I don't know if it's rare, but it's definitely not something that would be sold around here." She explained.

"Huh? If it's not sold, then where is somebody gonna get one? C'mon lady, help us out here!" Kanji yelled. He seemed to be getting into this. A bit too much if you ask me.

"Don't talk to your mother like that!" She scolded her son, it was apparent that Kanji's mother could be scary when she wanted to be. "I'm sorry I couldn't be any help. But I've really never seen anything like this."

"...Why do I have this?" Marie asked herself with a downcast expression on her face "Would I have been given it as a gift?"

"I'm not so sure about that. Combs don't make very good gifts." Kanji's mother interjected gravely "The word for comb, 'kushi' also has the sounds for the words for pain, 'ku' and death, 'shi.' It's an old belief that combs have the power to cause separation. But, I don't know if kids today care about that stuff."

"Oh yeah, my friend Kiyohime used to send love rivals combs in order to keep them away from her beloved, you know before the whole bell thing." Tamamo no Mae commented.

"Kiyohime…wait bell!" Rise mumbled upon realising the story.

"Are you in, Ms Tatsumi?" the voice of a customer asked, "May I have a word with you?"

"I'm coming. Just a moment, please." Kanji's mother stated "Kanji, please see to our guests. I need to speak with a customer. Please, make yourselves at home."

With that, she left the room to tend to the customer.

"Pain and death, huh. Yeah, I guess I wouldn't want to give someone that." Kanji said agreeing with what his mother said.

"She said separation? I didn't know that combs are actually bad luck." Rise said.

"I didn't know combs had any kind of luck," Yu said agreeing with Rise.

Marie repeated the word separation, and started thinking about what Kanji's mom said. It looked to Yu if she started to remember something.

"Marie, are you alright? Does your head hurt?" Rise asked, concerned.

"Whoa, you okay? Sit your ass down and get some rest." Kanji said in a panicky tone.

"Did you remember something?" Yu asked curiously.

"I don't know... But... There's something..." She shook her head before continuing "Ugh, it's gone. I can't remember... Something came up in my mind. I was about to recall it." Her expression seemed to darken a little.

"What, you can't remember? You don't remember anything about that comb?" Kanji asked.

It was at that moment that Yu remembered that they never mentioned Marie's amnesia to anyone.

"Huh? Wait a second. That's not your comb?" Rise asked in a scandalised tone.

"It was on her before she lost her memories. Perhaps it was supposed to be a curse from someone?" Semiramis suggested.

"She said this isn't a normal comb, what did she say? A Moozium? A Galerry?" Marie stumbled over the words, Yu chuckled a bit at her mispronunciation earning him a glare from the girl.

"Maybe I'll remember something if we go to one of those. You help, too." It was more a demand than a request but Yu didn't mind; this was important to her and planned to see this through to the end. With this case over or at least on hold, until the killer made their next move, Yu had plenty of time to help Marie.

"I'm tired. I'm going home today, but let's continue this later." She then left the store and headed to the Velvet Room entrance on the wall next to Daidara's store.

"What's up with her?" Kanji asked.

Yu quickly followed after her, when he finally caught up to her the girl and said goodbye before returning to the Velvet Room.

[August 1st, Dojima Residence, Inaba]

When the day had finally ended Yu had swung by and brought Adachi home for that dinner he'd promised the man. Yu was sat opposite Adachi at the living room table while the cream stew cooked.

"Big bro, the potatoes are still hard." Nanako said wandering in and sitting to join them.

"Don't worry, they'll soften up before it's ready." Yu reassured her.

"Today, we're having shoe!" Nanako told him mispronouncing the word.

"Shoe? Oh, you mean stew?" Adachi realised.

"Yeah, shoe...Stew!" Nanako corrected herself this time.

"Hey, you did it." Adachi said to the girl with an encouraging smile.

"Do you like stew, Mr Adachi?" Nanako asked.

"Hmm, yeah, kind of." Adachi replied in unsure tone.

"Kind of?"

"He eats a lot of instant of food." Yu chimed in "He hasn't had a proper cooked meal in a while so he's forgotten what it tastes like."

"Hehe, you're not wrong." Adachi admitted sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. "Hey I bet Dojima tells you all the time what a great help you are!"

"Nope." Yu said as did most of his Persona's.

"I knew it. He's probably just embarrassed." Adachi said with a smile. "So I heard you were moving back in the spring. I bet Dojima is going to cry!"

Being reminded of this caused Nanako to look down sadly, realising that in less than year she would be all alone again.

"Dumbass." Several of Yu's persona's all commented in spirit form in unison.

"Uh, sorry, sorry. That's still a long way away!" Adachi said quickly trying to back out the hole he'd dug.

"Yeah..."

Thinking fast Adachi suddenly remembered a magic trick he could do. "Umm...Hey, Nanako, have you ever seen this trick?"

Adachi produced a 500-yen coin and had Nanako's attention. "Now watch closely." Adachi clutched the coin tightly in his hand. "Are you watching?"

"This should be good." Nursery Rhyme said.

Adachi opened his hand again and the 500-yen coin disappeared.

"What!? How!? Why!? Again! Do it again!" Nanako demanded completely surprised by the trick.

"Nah, this time I'll show you an even better one!" Adachi told her. "Look in your big bro's pocket."

"My pocket?" Yu looked in his left jacket pocket and to his surprise the 500 yen coin was there, he took it out and examined it.

"What the hell?" Cu Chullain seemed surprised "I know it's just a cheap trick but I didn't see him move."

"Wow! You're the best, Mr Adachi!"

"That was a surprise."

"I'm pretty good with my hands, so it comes easy to me." Adachi's trick had worked, Nanako was smiling again which made Adachi seem relieved "Maybe I should have been a magician. Then I wouldn't be in such a-Uh...well. I guess there's no job like a government job. It's not like I can make a living working with my hands."

Adachi shrugged and gave it up realising that being a magician might not pay as well as being a cop, even if his current pay was as much as he would have liked. Yu sensed the bond between him and Adachi grow a bit stronger.

"That's smelling pretty good. I think the shoe's about ready." Adachi said teasingly.

"It's STEW!" Nanako cried correcting him this time.

"Shiatsu?"

"SHOE!" Nanako had mispronounced it again.

"WRONG!" Adachi continued his teasing having lead Nanako into saying the wrong thing.

"No, I said it right!" Nanako insisted puffing her cheeks out in annoyance.

The trio ate the cream stew, Adachi looked happier than Yu had seen him. It was easy to tell that the man had enjoyed the home cooked meal. The food had been enough to make Nanako sleepy causing her to go to bed earlier than usual.

"Thanks for the meal, it was great just like you said." Adachi stated as he prepared to go back home. "You know, I never really liked my parents, they left me alone a lot too, always busy with work, I hardly ever saw 'em even on my birthdays."

"I hear that." Yu said in agreement, there were other smaller things that Yu disliked about his parents but Alice would always be the major nail the coffin. "Always moving around, claiming they know what's best for you, but they can't even say what your favourite food or colour is."

"We have something in common." Adachi realised before stepping out and walking home. "See ya."

As he closed and locked the front door, Yu couldn't help but wonder what other parallels may exist between himself and Adachi, the boy couldn't deny that just that one thing was something he had in common with no one else in Inaba, amongst other things….

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[August 6th, Dojima residence, Inaba]

A few days later Yu decided to relax at home, he was watching the TV when the front door opened and he heard Nanako's voice.

"I'm ho-achoo!" Nanako sneezed as Yu set down the manga and saw Nanako who was soaking wet apparently she'd been out in the rain without her umbrella.

"Why didn't you take your Loveline umbrella with you?" Yu asked curiously as began drying the little girl off with a towel he had retrieved

"I lost it?" Nanako replied sounding more like she was asking a question.

"Is just me or did that sound like she was asking us?" Nursery Rhyme questioned.

"Let's just leave it be." Yu sighed deciding to go and lie down, he felt exhausted.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[August 7th, South Shopping District, Inaba]

The next day Yu looked at the price tag for a new Loveline umbrella to replace the one that Nanako had lost. Sadly his wallet was empty save for a one thousand yen note, which wasn't nearly enough for the replacement umbrella.

"I need a job." Yu sighed as he hung his head in dismay.

Suddenly Yu felt his leg be nudged and saw an orange furred fox with several scars on its right eye, forehead, back, and left leg. It also appeared to be wearing a red apron with a heart pattern around its neck.

"What do you want?" Yu asked the fox.

In the response the fox ran over to a notice board motioned with its head for Yu to follow. He did so and the fox deposited a wooden Ema in his hand. On it was written 'Look at me-Shu Nakajima'.

"You want me to try and make this wish come true?" Yu asked the fox who yipped in confirmation.

"Yeah but, I don't even know who this is or where to find him." Yu told the fox who motioned towards the notice board.

"What is it?" Yu looked at the notice board and read a job offering

LOOKING FOR A TUTOR

It's for a first-year middle school boy.

Anyone interested,

Please contact Mrs. Nakajima.

Yu dialled the number to call up the lady who posted the notice.

"Hello, Mrs. Nakajima speaking." the lady greeted as she answered the phone.

"I'm calling about your ad…for a tutor." Yu explained the reason he was calling.

"Oh, that!" she began happily explaining details to the boy.

"You are good!" Yu complimented the fox who responded with a happy yip.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[August 7th, Nakajima residence, Inaba]

A little later on Yu arrived at the Nakajima residence; Mrs Nakajima had led him to her son Shu's room and left him alone with the boy. The boy in question was wearing a blue-collared shirt with folded short sleeves, black pants, and dark brown shoes, and wears blue rectangular glasses.

"Listen Just so you know, I got no interest all in getting into Yasogami High School." Shu said rudely "You're just the only tutor I could find that could start right now…..do you have a problem….what are you looking at?"

"Nothing. I was just listening so I don't miss anything." Yu replied

"Are you even any good?" Shu asked sceptically.

"Top of my year through middle and currently high school" Yu replied truthfully.

[August 7th, Samegawa Flood Plain, Inaba]

"Damn it, why am I doing this again?" Rise demanded with a frustrated tone as she failed to catch the fish she was aiming for again.

She'd been trying to catch the river guardian ever since taking a wish Ema from the fox as well.

"Because, granting simple wishes like this when he's doing the same is a great way to demonstrate how much you have in common." Tamamo answered excitedly having physically materialised beside her master. "Now hurry and catch that fish!"

Letting out another growl of frustration Rise cast the line of her fishing rod back into the water. Her eyebrow twitched slightly as she saw a large fish shaped shadow under the water apparently stay just out of reach or her hook and bait.

[Dojima residence, Inaba]

Eventually night fell and near nine seven pm Yu finally came home.

"I'm home." Yu called out to Dojima who was sat eating dinner Nanako

"Welcome home!" Nanako called out to Yu who was holding a couple of math books underneath his arm.

"Well now you were out late." Dojima pointed out

"That I was." Yu deadpanned before marching back to his room in a zombie like fashion.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[August 10th, Daycare, Inaba]

Three days later, during which Yu took some time off to spend a day with Marie; she was rather absent minded and wanted to see a dolphin. She was naturally upset that one didn't appear after she counted to three but in his defence Yu was pretty sure that Dolphins didn't come to the Flood Plain or anywhere near the this river for that matter. She explained how she felt like giving up on trying remembering and snapped at him when he told her not to give up. He refused to give up on her and took her anger fully.

She got another headache and Yu wanted desperately to help her but she clamped up and she demanded to be taken back to the Velvet Room and Yu obliged her.

Later on when Ichijo learned he was tutoring, he asked Yu if he could help out at the day-care centre which brought the children to the park on the hill. Looking at the notice board the pay was certainly decent so he decided to go for it. Rise also seemed to join him enthusiastically for some reason. She waved off any pay from the day-care and insisted that ti went to Yu.

Things were going rather well, Yu occupied some of the children by showing them how to make a flower crown, while the Rise used Tamamo's talents to put on a small magic show for the children. Needless to say they were all very impressed.

However the peace did not last as Yu was broken out of making the flower crown by a pair of arguing young voices who were with none of the groups.

"Look you broke it!" one child named Kaneko yelled.

"Did not!" another denied whom Yu knew to be named Yuuta Minami.

"What's going on here?" Yu asked the two.

"Yuuta broke my Neo Featherman robot!" Kaneko accused holding out his toy which indeed had

"It's not broken! Lemme see…it!" Yu grabbed Yuuta's shoulder before he could rush forward.

"I know that you're angry but let me take care of this ok?" Yu asked with a pleasant but firm tone.

Yuuta simply nodded unable to resist Yu' firm tone of voice which he used when he meant business. He turned to Kaneko knelt in front of him.

"Now then let me see it." Yu held out his hand and took the toy which Kaneko reluctantly gave him.

Looking it over it seemed that the Neo Featherman robot toy did have a few loose parts, mostly around the arms and head, it also seemed to have a large indent in the back almost if slammed against something hard.

"It isn't hard to see that Yuuta didn't do this." Atalanta stated "The day care workers all say he is troubled but never lashes out, and always returned toys he borrows in the condition he borrowed them."

"Yeah and this Kaneko boy has a habit or trying to set up other kids to get into trouble." Astolfo pointed out.

"Yuuta it won't be long before its time to go home so go see Rise's magic show while I have chat with Kaneko ok?" Yuuta sighed, he wanted to argue but ultimately obeyed and went to go see Rise' magic show.

"Now then, why did you break your own toy and try to blame Yuuta?" Yu asked drawing Gawain's Charisma.

"I didn't he really did break it!" Kaneko protested stubbornly with an annoyed look on his face.

"Unfortunately for you, I happen to have been told that Yuuta is a boy who tends to spend time by himself but always returns what he borrowed in the same condition he borrowed it." Yu told the boy strongly "While you on the other hand have a habit of making trouble by trying to frame other children. So what do you have to say for yourself?"

"I'm tell the truth!" Kaneko yelled refusing to meet Yu's eye's.

Letting out a sigh the boy drew on Medea's magecraft and touched Kaneko's right wrist.

"You're lying; do you want to know what happens when little kids lie like that? Just look at your wrist."

Kaneko did so and cried out in shock as a black vein like pattern was now visible on his wrist.

"W-w-what's that!" Kaneko cried trying scratch at the black pattern to get it off, it was however in vain as the pattern remained.

"That's sludge, it forms inside you when you lie, you've done it so much that now you can see it. Now it'll keep growing and growing," the pattern spread up Kaneko's arm with each word climbing upwards near his elbow causing the boy to panic slightly. "until it reaches your mouth and the sludge comes pouring out, then everyone will know that you're a liar."

"Ok, ok I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Kaneko cried tears coming out of his eyes as the pattern on his arm vanished. "I did it myself, but that's only because my mom wanted me to make trouble for Yuuta so his new mom would have to pay her for it."

"Why?"

"I don't she hates Yuuta's new mom." Kaneko admitted tearfully.

"Good boy." Yu patted his head "Now no more lies or the sludge will come back. Ok?"

"Y-yes." Kaneko sniffed.

After bout ten minutes or so time was up and the parents all arrived to collect their children. Yu had taken Yuuta aside along with Kaneko to end the dispute before it could become worse.

"Look your parents are here we can sort this out now." Yu said calmly as the woman he'd been told was Eri Minami and Kaneko's mother approached.

The woman easily spotted the Eri and upon spotting the damage to her son's toy began ranting at Eri. She must have known that her son's new favourite target was and had begun berating the poor woman in front of her.

"I am so sorry."

"It's beyond repair" Kaneko's mother yelled pointing at the toy Kaneko was holding.

Before Eri could speak up again Yu decided to intervene and gave Kaneko a smile causing the boy to shiver and speak up instantly.

"Yuuta didn't do it" He said quickly

"Kaneko what are you saying?" his mother asked "Of course he did it."

Yu's smile at Kaneko widened just a fraction of an inch, but it was more than enough to get Kaneko to speak up again not wanting to see Yu's scary side again.

"No I did it myself." Kaneko admitted quickly.

"This is ridiculous clearly you've persuaded my poor boy to lie to cover up what that brat did." Kaneko's mother exclaimed.

"No it's true." Yu said stepping in "Yuuta was by himself most of the time, I had one eye on him. Plus your son told me that for some reason you wanted him to make trouble with Yuuta, something about disliking Mrs Minami?"

"I…y-you….this isn't over" Kaneko's mother yelled grabbing her son and stalking away.

"Thank you for helping us." Eri said politely with a slight bow to Yu and Rise who waved her off.

"It's what I do." Yu replied.

"I kinda feel bad that we used magic on that kid." Cu Chullain said.

"Yes, it was perhaps a bit too harsh." Atalanta agreed.

"Well something tells me that this isn't over yet." Rise sighed watching Kaneko and his mother stalk away. "Women like that don't give up easily."

Yu had feeling that his summer was going to become even more complicated.
