[4th November, Junes, Inaba]

"I watched the Midnight Channel last night as agreed upon," Naoto said. "To think that a master of deduction and evidence would strain her eyes over an urban legend to this extent…"

"Could any of you tell who it was?"

"Yeah, from a fuzzy picture like that? No way could anyone tell who it is," Kanji snorted.

"How about the regular TV? Has anyone become famous around here lately?" Yukiko asked.

"I can't think of any offhand…" Naoto said. "I suppose there was that politician who visited to quell the rumours of the fog. His statement was read on TV. But the chances of him being the next victim are slim. He returned immediately to Tokyo after."

"Hmmm…" Teddie said, lost in thought had a frown on his face.

"Hm? What's the matter…?" Yosuke said. Then he remembered. "Oh yeah, they stuck you with the midnight shift for falling asleep on the beds in Housewares. I told you to use the TV in the Electronics Department, right? Did you remember to check it out?"

"How rude! I made a promise with Nanako and I'm serious about living!" Teddie yelled before becoming serious again. "From what I saw… wasn't the person on the TV pretty small?"

"I dunno… It was too blurry to make out any details, including how tall or short they were." Chie commented. "It was probably just a dream or your imagination. Either way, though, did you sense anyone in that world?"

"Nope. No one's come so far," Teddie answered

"Then we might have to wait one more night and see…" Rise sighed.

"Yeah, I guess so…" Yosuke said reluctantly backing down from his deduction. "Good thing it looks like the rain will keep up all night. Don't forget to check again later on."

"Senpai about that girl called Marie…" Naoto began before being interrupted by the loud cries of a man.

Everyone looked just in time to see a man trip and crash into Yosuke spilling a large drink all over both of them as they both went to the ground.

"Ah jeez, sorry about that." The man groaned unhappily.

"It's ok, it happens." Yosuke groaned equally unhappy.

"Man, my luck sucks." Both of them said in unison.

The man had fluffy light red hair tied up in a ponytail. His eyes were green and he was wearing a lab coat outfit, with white trousers, boots and even a pair of gloves on his hands.

"You too?" Yosuke asked as he picked himself up and even helped the guy up.

"Yeah, I'm here looking for someone because my I pissed off my boss somehow." The man sighed "She even forced me to use my vacation days, she said 'just use your vacation days and do something useful for once you slacker'"

"Sheesh, and I thought I had it rough at work. But being forced to use your vacation for work…" Yosuke said with empath while nodding his head. "Anyway, I'm Yosuke Hanamura."

"Oh right, sorry. I'm Romani. Romani Archaman." He greeted a little bit more cheerfully. "You can call me Doctor Roman or Roman if you like."

"Doctor. I told you not to wander off." A familiar monotone voice said. The source of which was Aika Nakamura.

"Sorry, Aika but I heard but about the food court here and wanted to try it," Romani said apologetically.

"Well, you found him quickly at least," Aika said pointing at Yu.

"Wait, you're Yu Narukami?" Romani asked excitedly.

"Yeah, that's me," Yu confirmed.

"Sweet, at least some of my luck must be changing." Romani cheered.

"Alright, so what the hell do you want him for?" Kanji asked fixing Romani with a glare which caused him to freeze.

"Yukiko told you about me being the Second Owner right?" Aika said more than she asked. "We need to go to the restaurant so we can talk 'business'."

"How'd you know that?" Chie asked suspiciously.

"Oh, Aika's family keeps watch over the Inn just in case," Yukiko explained waving off Chie's concerns.

With no further reason to stay everyone stood up and followed Aika out fo the Junes Food Court and to Aiya's.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

As soon as they filed into the restaurant they saw that it was empty. Aika's father flipped the sign to closed and shut the door, locking it for good measure.

Everyone took seats. Yu, Romani, Yosuke, Rise and Naoto were sat the bar. While Teddie, Kanji, Chie and Yukiko were sat some tables nearby. The Nakamura's had activated the buildings bounded field for good measure.

"Ok, so like I said my name is Doctor Romani Archaman. I'm the head of the medical department for the Chaldea Security Organization."

"I've never heard of such an Organisation before," Naoto stated keeping her eyes on the Doctor.

"Yeah, that's because Chaldea is a secret organization dedicated to the preservation of the human race. With the intellectual and financial resources of the world behind us, we work by blending Magecraft and Technology to achieve some pretty cool stuff." Romani explained. "We use Masters to summon Heroic Spirits as Servants to try and resolve issues that might lead to the extinction of the human race."

"Wait, wait that's a lot to take in a once. Servants?" Yosuke paused before he got a look of realisation on his face. "Did you say extinction?!"

"Relax, we observe the future and if there's a threat to mankind's survival we intervene to resolve the problem," Romani explained as he began eating a bowl of noodles. "Far as I know there's nothing to worry about right now. So we're just recruiting masters. You guys know what masters and Servants are right?"

"Yes, Archer gave us the rundown," Naoto confirmed. "But why do you need servants?"

"Well, that saves me some time." Romani mumbled "Well, in order to affect humanity's future you have power beyond normal humans and servants are the easiest way to resolve those problems mostly because Servants are way more powerful than humans and can with things that normal humans, even Mages can't. Our summoning system called FATE is similar to the one used by the Holy Grail but different so it has fewer restrictions than the Holy Grail."

"Ok, so why did you want to talk to Senpai for?" Kanji demanded impatiently.

"Well, remember my boss sent me here?" Romani asked. "She's Chaldea's director. She took over after her father who founded the organisation committed suicide. Kinda weird, he fought a Holy Grail war back in two thousand and four just to get the funds he needed to found the organisation. Man the director was distraught when she found him if it wasn't for Lev I think she'd have fallen apart."

"He fought a Holy Grail so he could get what he needed to fund an organisation with such a lofty goal only to commit suicide?" Naoto stated rubbing her chin thoughtfully and narrowing her eyes.

"You think he was murdered?" Yu asked her knowing what she was thinking.

"It's only theory since I don't know the details." Naoto admitted, "But it definitely seems like a possibility."

"But who'd wanna murder the director and why?" Romani wondered aloud pausing in the consumption of his noodles.

"Well, who is the current director?" Naoto inquired.

"Oh, right, she's your fiancé to be Olga Marie Animusphere," Romani stated pointing at Yu.

"It's not a coincidence is it," Yu said,

"Nope," Romani answered with a pop on the end of the nope. "You see the Holy Church had one the seven contracts which compels Atlas Academy to help whoever holds it and the Church let us borrow theirs in return for a stake in Chaldea. We needed a way to shield Chaldea form the Mages Association in case something ever happened to Marisbury the former director and Olga the current director. Because they were both Chaldea's owners if they died everything would be left in limbo, but if someone important enough to the church got married to her then ownership would transfer to them and thus give the Church the stake wanted, in this case, you. The Association won't risk war with the Church over Chaldea."

"So that's what this was all about." Yu sighed slightly annoyed.

"Yeah, it was really lucky that you got tested in the hospital last month or so," Romani stated. "You developing Magic Circuits was just what the director needed to kill two birds with one stone."

"Wait, we got tested in the hospital?" Chie wondered.

"Yeah, I told you about my parents having people in the hospital remember," Yu told her. "They did it when Naoto wanted us to get that check-up. So if they're working with Chaldea it's not that surprising."

"Right, also do you remember having a blood test done before coming to town?" Romani asked blowing on some noodles which were particularly hot.

"Yeah, how'd you about that?"

"Well, it was a test to check if you had any master affinity," Romani explained through the noodles he was eating. "These negotiations between Chaldea and the Church have been going on for years now. Master Affinity is needed to contract with servants under Chaldea's FATE system."

"So I was a pawn to them even before now," Yu said with rare annoyance. He'd never really gotten along with parents this was a new low for them especially considering the arranged marriage.

The room was silent for a moment. Romani gave an awkward laugh before continuing.

"You see, when we first checked your master affinity before you came here, you have zero affinity. So we passed you over. But since the examination method isn't foolproof its policy to double check. So when we got round to double checking you suddenly had a one hundred per cent affinity for becoming a master. So naturally, we sent recruiters out to find you and talk to you."

"But they died." Aika suddenly put in causing everyone to jump.

Romani thumped his chest as he suddenly began choking on his noodles. Fortunately, he was able to swallow them.

"They were killed?" Naoto inquired now curious. "Come to think of it, I did notice a pair of men in black suits heading to the shopping district a couple of months ago, but I was busy with the case so I didn't really take notice."

"I tried to warn them to leave, but they refused to listen," Aika stated shuddering at the memory. "Then 'he' came and killed them both. The Grand Assassin."

"Well, that explains it after we lost contact with the recruiters. The Director let out a loud scream." Romani told them. "Everyone heard it, turns out their heads had been put her desk with a warning not to interfere attached to one of them."

"Woah." "Sheesh." Brutal." "That's gross." "I'm gonna have nightmares." "Grizzly"

"Ok, so back on topic, the Director sent me here to get a feel of what kind of person you are," Romani stated. "I have degree's in psychology and stuff so she thinks I might be able to get a good read on what kind of person you are. She wants to know if you and she can live amicably at least or if she'll have to take….measures, to protect herself."

"Well she doesn't need to worry about that," Yu stated, he may not like having to marry this girl but there was no reason for him to take it out on her, his parents were the only ones to blame.

"Well, I'm glad to hear that, the director may be stern but I think she's also got a vulnerable side if you know what I mean."

"So what else can you tell us?" Naoto inquired.

"Well, most of its classified because the rest you don't have master affinity, which is kinda weird given the circumstances. But I'll tell you what I can." Romani replied.

So the questioning of Doctor Roman began. Some fears and suspicions were allayed, but not all.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

Eventually, the team ended the meeting with Doctor Roman following Yukiko back to the Amagi Inn where he'd rented a room for a while. He'd given everyone his number before he left.

"I'm beginning to realize now that I'm looking at this case differently than everyone else does," Naoto said.

"What would make you think that?" Yu asked.

"I realise now that the first thing I should have been concerned about upon learning about that letter was securing your safety. But I wasn't… so how can I call myself your friend, when my top priority feel like I am what Rise accused me of in July…just playing a game," Naoto said with regret.

"I don't see it that way," Yu said before pausing, suddenly a sensation came over like he had been submerged in water. In the back of his head, there seemed to be a single point of heat.

There was suddenly a loud sound in his ears, like the flapping wings of hundreds of birds. It grew louder and louder until.

"….was still dormant within me…I wasn't considering the things that I should have. The people who care about me, as well as my own self…The detective, the child, the woman… The "me" who existed before them…I am… simply myself. I'm glad to have met you…"

Thou art I…and I am thou…

Thou hast established a genuine bond…

These genuine bonds…shall be your eyes to see the truth.

We bestow upon thee the ability to create Norn, the ultimate form of the Fortune Arcana…

He had completed Naoto's social link? But how? What was going on here? The bond had indeed grown tighter but how could Yu not recall what he said? Indeed the sun did seem much lower than before, had he been talking the detective princess so long? But why could he not recall such an important conversation?

"See you later Senpai," Naoto said splitting off to walk home, leaving Yu slightly stunned at what had just happened.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[4th November, Dojima residence, Inaba]

Later on when Yu arrived home he had gotten into a conversation with Nanako about buying a new Kotatsu, to be honest Yu was only half into the conversation he was still concerned about the fact that he'd been able to hold an entire conversation with Naoto and have no memory of it like the time had been stolen from him. So felt a small relief when he heard the front the door opening.

"It looks like Daddy's home now. Welcome back da-!" The little girl paused her greeting at the serious look on his face.

"This was in the mailbox it's for you," Dojima said, handing an envelope he had been holding to Yu.

"Thank you…" Yu said.

He looked at it and saw why his Uncle was concerned…there was no return address, To Yu Narukami was written on the front of the envelope.

Yu looked at his uncle who gave him an intense stare. It seemed he was far too curious about this letter to just let it go. With no other options, he opened it, though he had a suspicion of what it contained.

On the letter were the words, If you don't stop this time someone close will be put in and killed.

"Why don't you tell me a little more about this?" Dojima commanded after reading the letter over his shoulder.

Yu looked worried at his uncle and then looked at Nanako, who gave a small gasp of worry and was clutching her jumper with both hands, and then he looked back at his uncle.

"All right, if you'd like to talk somewhere else, that's fine." Dojima said sternly "We'll be back later…"

"But, Daddy…" Nanako said.

"It's ok we're just going out for a little talk," Dojima told her putting his hand on her shoulder reassuringly.

"Just sit tight, we'll be back," Yu said reassuringly as he joined his uncle.

"Okay… I'll be waiting," she said.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[4th November, Interrogation room number 2, Inaba police station, Inaba]

"Look, I think of you as a member of my own family. For that reason, I probably should have done this a whole lot sooner."

"Look, Uncle…" Yu began.

"You're gonna tell me everything, starting with what you're involved in right now" Dojima cut him off with a stern tone. "To how you got in this mess. Not start talking!" he demanded.

Things had gotten serious now, Yu could not think of any lie that his uncle would believe so seeing no other option he decided to go with the truth, though he had a feeling Dojima would not buy a word of it.

"O-okay. Listen, I also think of you like family, so fine, I'll come clean. I'll tell you everything I know."

"Good to hear…" Dojima said, his face still looking stern.

Yu paused for a second on how to phrase it.

"You're right, we are involved in this case… but well…once people have been kidnapped, we rescue them. We do it by going in the TV."

"'Go inside a TV?'" he repeated with disbelief.

"Exactly," Yu said. "There are these Shadow things and we fight them using Personas and-"

Dojima suddenly slammed his fist on to the desk, normally Yu would have jumped but he had other things on his mind.

"Look, I know I'm never gonna be your real father, but I thought I had earned enough of your trust to tell me the truth. Guess I was wrong…" Dojima stated with a disappointed tone not even bothering to look at Yu.

"Uncle, there's a TV in here I can prove to you what I'm-!" Yu said as he started to stand up. If he showed his Uncle and Adachi his ability it would definitely make them believe.

"SIT DOWN!" Dojima yelled,

Yu did as he was told, he felt there was no choice right now, Dojima and Adachi would hold him down or even handcuff him if he kept trying.

Then his uncle stood up.

"Take this to the Lab," he ordered Adachi handing him the envelope and heading to the door.

"Uncle, please!" Yu said, stood trying to reason with uncle again.

"You're staying here for tonight," Dojima told him as he left the room.

Yu sat down sighed.

"Hey, it's okay," Adachi said. "That's just Dojima's way of showing he's concerned about you. You know what I mean, tough love and all that stuff…"

Adachi nervously laughed as Yu didn't look at him. Yu felt like he failed.

"Well, uh…" Adachi laughed even more uncomfortable. "I'll just be outside this door. If you need anything just give me a holler okay?"

Adachi left the room and closed the door. Yu sat there in the dark. His phone had been taken away by Dojima when they'd gotten there so he could not call anyone.

Suddenly the unplugged TV nearby crackled to life. Yu stood up and walked over to it and gasped at what he saw. There was a clear image of Nanako on the screen.

"Nanako," Yu called out the name of the young girl on screen.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[4th November, Road to Dojima residence, Inaba, Japan]

Naoto was hurrying, she'd called a taxi to take her straight to the Dojima residence as soon as she'd seen Nanako on the Midnight Channel. She was currently on the phone to a panicking Chie.

"Wasn't that Nanako on the Midnight Channel just now?!" Chie said, panicked. "How could it be her…?!"

"I know what you're thinking, but, Nanako does fit the pattern. She wasn't seen…but she was heard."

"What?!" Chie cried.

"Do you remember the politician who visited a local school, and made the news several times? In those interviews, he always quoted a student and spoke very highly of her. The child became well-known while remaining anonymous… That girl was Nanako! A reporter who took interest in this story dug a little deeper and released her photo and interview using her real name in tonight's evening paper. This is a small rural town. Her identity must have been circulating for some time."

"I should have realized it much sooner… But I was hung up on the idea of people who were 'shown' on TV… It didn't occur to me that this would qualify…"

"I'm on my way there now, but Chie you mentioned that in the past that the image only became clearer after the victim had been put in the TV." Naoto reminded her ominously.

"I'm here I'll find out, apparently, Yosuke is on the way to the police station with Kanji and Teddie. He tried calling Yu's cellphone and the landline but got no response." Naoto told her "Kanji said he saw Dojima driving Yu in his car in the direction of the police station."

"Alright, I'll join them right away! And I'll let Yukiko and Rise know!" Chie said before ending the call.

The cab came to stop, Naoto paid the driver and stepped, she was surprised by the sheer thickness of the fog. Walking closer to the house she saw that the front door was open and a white van was parked out front with its back doors open. Naoto thought she could see a few shapes inside the van but ran inside.

"Nanako, Nanako are you here?"

A spark of realisation struck Naoto so she quickly got back into the waiting taxi and ordered him to take her to the police station. She quickly began calling again, she had to tell Dojima and the others as quickly as possible.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

[4th November, Interrogation room 2, Inaba Police Station, Inaba]

"Please, Uncle! Let me out of here! Is anyone there?!" Yu said in a panic, banging on the door with both fists. "C'mon Adachi! Open the door!" No response, even though Yu had been pounding for a few minutes. "Dammit! She's in danger! I have to help Nanako!"

He could easily simply smash the door to bits with his powers but doing so would draw undue attention and no doubt get him into even more trouble.

"Hey! You can't go in there!" Yu heard Adachi say.

"Uhh!" Kanji said. "Enough outta you!" Yu heard Adachi yelp.

"Grizzly! Grizzly!" Teddie yelled.

"Don't open that door!" Dojima ordered.

Yosuke suddenly burst through the door. Yu was surprised, Especially seeing Kanji had Adachi in a headlock.

"Yu!" Yosuke said.

"Hey! What's going on?!" Yu asked with surprise.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" Dojima demanded pushing past them and getting into the room "What are you punks doing here?!"

"It's Nanako. She's gone missing!" Yosuke said to Yu causing both him and Dojima gasp.

"What do you mean 'missing'?"

"Here… Let Naoto explain. She's been to your house."

"Shirogane?! You there? What the hell's going on?!" Dojima demanded.

"I'm at your house right now. The front door was open and Nanako isn't here. I believe out killer has her, surely you must have known, Dojima The case isn't over yet!"

In frustration, he tossed Yosuke's phone on the desk, pulled out his own cell and dialled another number.

"This is the KJ Customer Service Center. The number you have dialled is unavailable right now. The phone may be switched off or is outside the service area."

"Nanako…" Dojima said his daughters name as he put his cellphone away.

"Dojima…" Adachi said, having extricated himself from Kanji.

"Is this true?" Dojima asked Yu. "Has Nanako really been…?"

"I'm… I'm afraid so, Uncle…" Yu said, trying to maintain his calm.

"Why?! Why Nanako?!"

"It's because that politician was at her school and the evening paper…" Yosuke said.

Dojima quickly pressed a button on the desk phone.

"W-what are you doing?!" Adachi asked.

"Traffic Division, Ohta Speaking." The on-duty officer answered.

"There's been a kidnapping! Get your men on it immediately! Start with checkpoints! Along the highway!"

"Checkpoints!? Umm, could you explain the situation a little more—"

"Quit griping and get to it! The victim's a seven-year-old girl...My daughter!"

"Your daughter? Wait...What about the scene? What makes you think this is a kidnapping?"

"Th-That's...Look, this could be connected to that multiple murder case!"

"Connected...? But we caught the killer. How long has she been missing? Have you received any notices or ransom letters?"

"N-No, but...Dammit, there's no time for this right now!"

"Um, a-alright...I'll try contacting each of the departments..."

"Even if you tell 'em this is connected to the murders, we can't prove it." Adachi pointed out "And everyone on the force thinks this case is over and done with...Wh-Where are you going!?"

"I'm gonna look for my daughter," Dojima answered getting his jacket on. "If this is connected to that murder case, the top brass won't accept the facts until it's too late. I'm not gonna wait for those clowns!

"But do you even have any ideas or leads on who took her!? If they used a car, there's no way-"

"Shut up! That's why I'm hurrying!" Dojima yelled before running off.

"Augh, Dojima's run off half-cocked, now what am I gonna do?" Adachi griped.

"Adachi we'll go look for her, too! So please...let him go!" Yosuke begged.

"Huh? You know I can't..." Adachi was cut off as Rise, Chie, Yukiko and Naoto burst into the room.

"So what's going on!?" Chie yelled.

"Hey if I let all you guys in here then I'll be in trouble" Adachi whined. "Besides, we don't even know if this thing's—"

"Quit your bitching! Now ain't the time for that shit! The hell are we sitting here for when this guy's family's in danger!? You gonna own up if something happens!? Huh!?"

"Kanji!" Naoto silenced the boy.

"I know how you feel, but if you don't tell me what's going on, there's really nothing I can do..." Adachi told them

"Ah, so you agree to release him once we explain the situation? Very well, then." Naoto sighed and took a deep breath preparing to explain what they knew.

"N-No, that's not what I meant..."

"Now. Consider that the front door to the house was open. I examined it, and found no trace that entry had been forced..."

"You mean...Nanako opened the door herself?" Chie asked.

"Precisely. The culprit didn't sneak in. He came boldly up to the front door and pressed the doorbell." Naoto told her.

"Like how it was for all of us..." Yukiko said with realisation.

"U-Umm...For all of us?" Adachi looked even more lost now

"Indeed, when I got to the house Nanako was gone.

"Our killer can most likely monitor us when we go into the TV world so he knows us and our secrets, that's how he knew who we were and where lived."

"Ok, you said this guy was someone that Nanako opened the door for. So what kind of person would that be?" Rise asked.

"Our killer is using a delivery truck," Naoto told them. "And if it were a local company, it'd be the same deliveryman every time so he's not a "stranger" to Nanako. She must've received packages from him during the times she was home alone, meaning we wouldn't know his face..."

"That would explain how your kidnappings happened so fast." Yu pointed out "He must haul the TV with him in his truck."

"And how he was able to hide in plain sight, you wouldn't look twice at a delivery truck no matter where it was parked."

"Hey, Adachi is this turning on any lightbulbs for you?" Chie inquired turning to the detective who backed up a bit.

"Well it's a lot to process right now-" Adachi paused suddenly as if struck by a revelation and suddenly withdrew a pocketbook from his jacket. "You know you guys might be onto something. Dojima never closed the investigation and I remember hearing about one of the suspects in Ms Yamano's murder he's a delivery man now. But I think he was a city council secretary before or something like that." Adachi began flicking through the pages of the book before settling on a page

"A secretary, that's Taro Namatame." Naoto realised.

"That's the dude who had an affair with Ms Yamano." Yosuke pointed out.

"All we know about him is his occupation, but I'd say that's enough of a lead to tell us where to go next. The address is not far from here!"

"We have to get out!" Yu yelled.

"If there's been a break in the case, I'd better hurry to the crime scene," Adachi said I'll just have to hope nothing happens here while I'm gone...I didn't see anything." With that Adachi ran away.

"We owe you Adachi," Yu said vowing to make it up to the detective who would no doubt get chewed out for this.
[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

Dojima was in his vehicle. He was trying to find any sign of Nanako, he was driving extremely recklessly through the near-empty streets but he cast that aside, All that mattered right now was Nanako.

"Hang tight, Nanako, I'm on my way…" Dojima said aloud.

"What now?!" he wondered as his cellphone began to ring in the custom made holder. Then he recognized Adachi's number on the screen but answered regardless. "Adachi, I can't talk…"

"Dojima! We need to talk! Where are you?!" Adachi yelled.

"I've almost made it to the highway! If this isn't urgent-!"

"I figured it out! I think I know who the perp is!" Adachi said, getting in his car and buckling himself in his seat. "Your suspicions were right all along! It is the delivery guy!"

Dojima noticed a delivery truck about to pass him on his right going the opposite way and then something started to click in his mind as he processes what Adachi was telling him.

"The ex-City Council Secretary! Taro Nametame!"

Time seemed to crawl as Dojima as he recognised the driver of the truck in the opposite lane. Namatame was driving that truck, so without further thought, Dojima immediately put on the brakes and spun around giving chase.

[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]-[-]

"Let's leave finding Nametame's vehicle to your uncle and Adachi for now!" Naoto suggested as they all hastily crammed into a taxi that had been called.

"Take us Junes!" Yu ordered the driver as the last person crammed in. "Hang on, Nanako."

The taxi driver seemed to have sensed to the urgency in Yu's voice and was driving as fast as he legally could to the Junes As they got closer, the driver preparing to turn on the road through Samegawa, they all heard a loud crash and saw a plume of smoke coming further ahead.

When they got closer they saw a delivery truck and police car had both crashed and run off the road, another police car was parked just behind it.

"Stop the car!" Yu commanded as he spotted Adachi running out of his own car.

"DOJIMA!" Adachi yelled as he ran out of his car and towards his boss.

Dojima had managed to crawl out of his car and was on the ground, blood coming from a not so small gash on his head. "Hang in there, Boss…"

"Uncle!" Yu yelled worriedly running over to Dojima.

"Yu…" Dojima was weak from his injuries and yet was not surprised that his Nephew wasn't still locked up. "Did you find Nanako?"

"Please send an ambulance immediately." Naoto was calling for an ambulance for Dojima.

"What the hell?! What happened?!" Yosuke asked as he was getting out of the taxi.

"Find Nanako! And Nametame!" Dojima said to him. "Look for them! They have to be here!"

"Okay…" Yu replied standing up to go over to the truck.

"Wait a sec! We've gotta preserve the crime scene!" Adachi objected.

"Just allow me to take care of that…" Naoto said as she put on evidence gloves.

Naoto and Kanji joined Yu at the truck.

"Yosuke, pay the taxi." Rise told the boy.

"Oh come on Really?!" Yosuke protested. "C'mon! I'm not your stinkin' Sugar Daddy!"

"It's unlocked," Kanji commented as he opened the passenger's side door to find the cab empty.

"He's gone!" Yu exclaimed.

Naoto took a cursory look in the cab of the truck.

"He left something…" Naoto gasped spotting something upon the floor.

"Look!" Chie said, pulling the rear cover on the back open. "There is a TV back here!"

"I found a diary…" Naoto said. "It looks like it belonged to Nametame… It says here that he stumbled upon a whole new world. 'I have no choice now but to save others,'" she read.

"Save us…That's crap!" Kanji growled.

"Look here! It has all the victims' names and addresses." Naoto said reading on.

Indeed, the diary contained all of the names in there. It read:

Mayumi Yamano: Staying at the Amagi Inn

Saki Konishi: Konishi Saki: Konishi Liquors, Inaba Central Shopping District, North End

Yukiko Amagi: Lives at the Amagi Inn

Kanji Tatsumi: Tatsumi Textiles. Inaba Central Shopping District, North End

Rise Kujikawa: Marukyu Tofu, Inaba Central Shopping District, South End

"Mayumi Yamano, Saki Konishi, Yukiko Amagi, Kanji Tatsumi and Rise Kujikawa. It lists all of his victims, including his failed attempts from the third case on down and Mr Morooka's address, is not part of this list."

"Amazing, that basically proves that it's him," Adachi said with relief.

"Listen to this last entry: 'I can't believe a small child appeared on the TV. I have to save her. I'm the only one who can do it.'" Naoto said continuing to read from the diary.

"Is he talking about…Nanako?!" Rise asked.

Yu noticing something in the back.

Yu looked at what he had found. It was a pink envelope. Yu opened it and sighed. In it was a ring made with small pink beads and a larger blue bead and a letter.

Dear Big Bro. Congratulations on getting the highest test score! ~Nanako It read.

Yu picked up the ring and felt like breaking down when Yosuke interrupted.

"Yu?" Yu turned to look at his friend. "It's your uncle."

"What is it?!" Yu asked the paramedics.

"Yu… Please find her…" He reached out and clenched the shoulder of Yu's jacket. "Nanako is what makes life worth living…" He grunted clearly in pain. "You can save her, you have to save her, Please save my little girl…"

"I promise I'll save her," Yu vowed gently grasping Dojima's own hand.
