Chapter 6: Work Studies and Words of Comfort
Class 1A was officially back to its regularly scheduled program. The first day was a normal lecture, however they were told that training would be harsher, and there would be more big things to come in the future. The bell rang for lunch, as Izuku was getting his belongings.
"Problem child, can I speak with you for a moment?" Aizawa asked.
Izuku stayed behind to see Aizawa. Later on, he made it back to the common areas. He saw everyone talking about the stuff that was happening. Katsuki was on cleaning duty collecting trash.
"Dude, look at this," Kaminari said, "Kids are buying Deku hoodies after seeing him in action 5 years ago."
"Plus there's a Deku Museum opening up!" Kirishima said while reading an article.
Izuku was shocked that he was making such a big impact.
"I'm not even a hero, and yet I've left a big impact on the world!" Iida said imitating Izuku, "That's probably what you're thinking, right Mr. Key to the city?"
"Iida don't call me that…. Yet," Izuku said.
"By the way, what did Mr. Aizawa wanna speak about with you?" Iida asked.
"Yea Deku," Ochako said.
"Well he said I shouldn't say anything yet," Izuku said, "He won't even tell me what it is. All he said was work study."
"Well we won't pry into it if Mr. Aizawa said to keep it secret," Iida said, before turning to KAtsuki, "I trust you caught that Bakugo?"
"Yea yea," Katsuki stated.
The chill of the evening seeped into Izuku's skin. He shuddered, almost losing his grip on the trash bag he needed to take out back. As he approached the lonesome dumpster sitting behind their dormitory building, only the hooting owls and chirping crickets accompanied him. But despite the night time critters being a safe distance away, Izuku couldn't help but feel he was being watched.
Two blue beady eyes and a face peered through the wall, looking right at him.
"Trash, am I right?"
Izuku jumped. His hand flew to his rapidly beating heart. However, as Izuku took a closer look at his face, he began to recognize him.
"Togata?" Izuku asked.
"The one and only!" Togata Said
"How've you been?" Izuku asked.
"I've been fine, still waiting if we can have our sparring match," Togata answered, "Actually we might get a chance pretty soon."
"What do you mean?" Izuku asked.
"Well, Eraserhead plans to introduce us to your class in two days, and I plan to fight with all of you," Mirio explained
"Well, it should be interesting then. I'd be a little careful with Kacchan. He's a bit loud." Izuku said.
"So how does it feel? The whole world knowing that you were that famous 11 year old who stopped a rhino with his bare hands?" Mirio asked
"Sometimes the attention is a bit too much. With the media trying to shove a mic in my face and all. No wonder Aizawa avoids them." Izuku said.
"I can see why," Togata said with a smirk, "Well I got 'togato' go!"
He phased through the wall. Izuku put the trash away and decided to turn in.
Later that evening while everyone was fast asleep, Momo was tossing and turning in her bed. She heard voices of her father, calling her 'useless' or 'worthless' among other things. After a few seconds, she woke up screaming from the nightmare she had. She spent the next few seconds panting, her body producing sweat. Although her father was in prison for how he treated her and her mother, she could still hear his voice in her head. There was a knock on the door.
"Yaoyorozu?" asked a familiar male voice.
"Huh?! What?!" Momo asked, still shaken up.
"It's Todoroki. Are you alright?" Asked Shoto.
She instantly calmed down after hearing his voice.
"Can I come in?" Shoto asked.
Momo went to the door and opened it. After she opened it, Shoto stepped in. Without a second thought, she immediately hugged the half-cold half-hot boy and dug her head into the crook of his neck.
"What's wrong?" Shoto asked, a hint of concern present in his voice.
"I... I had a nightmare," she admitted.
"About what?" Shoto asked.
"M-my father." She told him in a shaky tone.
"What did he do?" Shoto asked.
"Whenever I don't do what he wants, he beats me," Momo said, "He was dead set on me taking over the company and didn't want me to be a hero. Then one day he took it too far. He hurt Mother and I stood up to him. Then he attacked me. Desperate, I called for a hero, and he stopped my father."
Tears streamed down her face as she relived that horrible memory.
"But he still haunts me, even in my sleep..."
Shoto, knowing how this all felt, hugged Momo in an attempt to comfort her. He was a terrible therapist but to Momo, he was more than enough.
"I'm not really that great of a person who can say comforting things but... if you need someone to talk to, I'm here," Shoto said.
"You being here is all I need right now," Momo told him as she calmed down.
"Um... do you want me to stay with you?" Shoto asked, being dense on what he just asked.
Momo nodded.
'Wait... what did I just get into?' Shoto thought.
Momo beckoned him to come into her room with the bed taking up most of the dorm room.
"So uh... if I'm gonna be staying here, where should I sleep?" Shoto asked.
"Could you sleep in the bed with me please?" Momo asked somewhat silently.
"What?" Shoto asked.
"I mean... you can sleep in the same bed with me if you'd like!" Momo told him.
'Sleeping in Yaoyorozu's bed. So we ARE married!' Shoto thought.
Shoto hesitantly joined Momo and got into the bed with her.
'Hm... her bed feels nice. Of course, this is the biggest bed I've ever been in. Why does she need a bed this big anyway? Was she planning for us to get married all this time?! How could I have not known?!' Shoto thought to himself.
After a few minutes the two of them were fast asleep. The next morning, Momo groggily woke up, unaware of what was to come. She went downstairs to get herself some breakfast. When she closed the fridge, she was surprised by Mina, Jiro and Hagakure all giving her grins.
"What?"
"Ohhhh, nothing... Mrs. Todoroki!" Mina said.
"Mrs Todo... what?" Momo asked.
"Don't you play dumb with us Yaomomo!" Setsuna said
"What are you guys talking about?!" Momo asked, her face completely red, "I don't know what you mean!"
"Oh, I think you do!" Said Hagakure, showing a picture of Momo and Shoto cuddled up to each other.
At this moment Momo's entire body turned red from embarrassment.
"Admit it, you got the hots for Todoroki!" Mina said.
"Yaomomo doesn't have the hots for me." Shoto said, coming downstairs still without a shirt having Momo's face putting the sun to shame with the amount of heat she's letting out. "She doesn't catch on fire every time she's near me. See, watch." Shoto said as she got shoulder to shoulder with her only making her heart up more.
"Oh lord," Jiro said.
"Hm? Oh jeez! Momo! Are you alright?! Your face is really red!" Shoto said in panic. "Here, this should help!" He then put his right hand on her face to cool her face down.
However it did the exact opposite. The three girls ended up falling on the floor laughing at Momo's misfortune. Katsuki noticed that Shoto was shirtless.
"DUDE! PUT A FUCKING SHIRT ON!" Katsuki shouted from upstairs "YOU LOOK LIKE 300 POUNDS OF BIRD SHIT!"
Jiro noticed Ochako come down wearing one of Izuku's shirts, and also noticed Kirishima also walk down shirtless. She looked at Mina and Ochako and decided to poke fun at them.
"Actually…. Aren't those Midoriya and Kirishima's shirts you have on right now?" she asked.
The two girls instantly blushed.
"OCHAKO I DIDN'T KNOW YOU AND MIDORI WERE LIKE THAT!" Mina said.
"WHEN DID YOU AND KIRISHIMA START DATING?!" Ochako shouted.
The door barged open and from the doors revealed an angry and tired Shinso.
"I'm TRYING. To SLEEP!" he shouted.
He slammed the door. Shoto started writing information down in his theory notebook.
