Disclaimer: I don't own Evangelion (yet) and neither the movies and series that will be referenced here. The thumbnail pic that illustrates this fanfic is from the great Amai Yadoraki, one of the greatest Asushin artists ( pixv en/users/1611671). He is also on twitter - YADORAKI_3.

The idea of making a series of really short stories and parodies, mixing Asushin themes with some iconic scenes from famous movies and series was developed in some threads of the Asushin subreddit, and I was also inspired by the great fan fiction "30 Kisses, 30 Ways: Asuka and Shinji"by Eric Blair and "The 2nd Try: Short Stories", by B123. I will try to keep the stories short (around 5000 characters), and make a full season of 26 stories until the end of this year.

To make things more interesting, I won't tell in advance what movie or series are going to be mixed in the story, until this thing is finished.

Also, since it's Asushin, you can expect that some of the stories will have lots of drama, hurt/confort and bittersweet conclusions, but most of them will be WAFF.

"It's been three years since the last time we came here together," Gendo said looking at the empty grave. "Do you want to know why your mother died?"

Shinji looked at his father, visibly surprised.

"It was your fault! You killed her!"

"What? No… no… it can't be my fault… I was only a child."

"It was your fault Shinji. You only screw things up at the end and make people suffer. It's in your nature. It would be better for everyone if you just disappear."

After hearing those words, Shinji turned away and left the graveyard running, without looking back. Gendo kept staring at the frightened boy until he was out of his sight.

"That's right Shinji! Run! Run away from your destiny!"

Shinji ran several miles without caring about the direction he was going, with only one thing in his mind: he would never go back to Tokyo-3. The sun was almost setting when the boy found himself in an unknown place, a grassy area outside of the town.

But he was surprised to see a familiar sight. Two boys were camping in a nearby glade.

"Yo Shin-man! Nice to see you."

"Hey Shinji! Glad you still remember our camping spot."

"Toji… Kensuke… I… I have to go. My father he… I can't face him anymore. I will leave this town".

"Whoa… wait man. Take it easy. You should at least sit with us for a little while and think about Kensuke's philosophy."

"Kensuke's… philosophy?"

"Yes Shinji. My philosophy is based in an old saying that means 'no worries for the rest of your days'. It's a problem-free philosophy."

"Well… it's sound to good to be true… but…. I guess I will give a try."

"You will like it. We even have a song."

After some hours of talking and singing with his friends, Shinji was feeling happy, having forgotten his worries about his father, Eva, and of all the thoughts that were hurting him. That philosophy seems to be really great.

Everything was fine, until he was brutally tackled to the ground. He tried to fight off his aggressor, but failed and got pinned to the ground.

Even if it was already dark, he managed to recognize a girl in a green dress with beautiful and familiar face, looking straight at him with a look of reproval and sadness.

"A-asuka?"

"It's the Red Devil! Run for your lives!"

"Wait Kensuke We can't leave Shin-man alone with that…"

An icy glare from Asuka made clear to the boys that she had serious business with her fellow pilot and would not allow any interventions in their private conversation.

"SHINJI! YOU IDIOT! Where had you been? Are you trying to run away again?"

"W-wait… Asuka… why are you here? I thought you had a date today."

"Well, I did have one, baka-Shinji, and I was enjoying it very much 'Not really. In fact, I was just looking for an excuse to dump the guy and leave that boring place'… but then Misato called and told me that Section Two reported that you went missing. She asked me for help to find your lazy-ass, and you know that Asuka Langley Sohryu never fails on a mission."

'Asuka did that? For me? No… she was just following orders and probably only thinks that I'm a burden. My father was right, I always make people suffer because of my acts.'

"Hey baka, listen to me. I don't know why you did that and I'm really mad at you but I'm also glad that…. oh, forget it. Just promise me that you won't do that again."

"I can't promise that…"

Asuka looked at him with a savage glare that could melt steel and was about to yell at him, but the boy managed to speak first.

"But I promise that I will try… for you."

The girl looked at the boy confused, suddenly having lost all of the rage and forgetting about the barrage of insults that she was just about to drop at him.

"Hey Asuka… by the way, how did you find me so quickly? Neither Misato or the people from Section Two were able to find me."

The girl blushed. "Well… it's not because I'm stalking you, tracking your phone or something like that, you idiot… I guess I… just had luck. Either way, don't you dare to do that again ok? I won't forgive you!"

"Yeah. Sorry."- Shinji said with a smile.

At that moment they stared into each other eyes and realized that they were in a compromising position, with her laying above him pinning his back on the floor and with both of her hands keeping a firm grip on his arms.

They both blushed, but neither made any attempt to move their bodies from that awkward position and continued to stare deeply at each other eyes.

'I have so many things to tell her… but how to make her see the truth about my past? Impossible! She'd turn away from me.'

'He's holding back, he's hiding. But what, I can't decide. Why won't he be the great hero I know he is. The invincible Shinji I see inside?'

Both pilots were lost in their own thoughts and failed to notice that their lips started to move towards each other's.

Meanwhile, the two boys who were staring at the scene in silence suddenly started to whisper to each other.

"Hey Toji… I can see what's happening."

"What?"

"And they don't have a clue."

"Who?"

"They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line - our trio's down to two."

"Oh."

"And if he falls in love tonight… it can be assumed."

"It means that… his carefree days with us are history."

Toji and Kensuke looked into each other and sighed: "In short… Our pal is doomed."
