We were running across the Wandering Sea in a high speed game of tag with our friends when the pretty red light and horrible loud noise blared throughout the new home. The noise was so loud, it hurt, but that didn't matter. We loved the noise. It meant the start of a new adventure, and a new adventure meant spending time with Mommy, making new memories in places we could never dream of.
To make sure Mommy kept his promise of taking us first, we ran to the room where all the adventures started, but as we passed the yummy food place, we realized something wasn't right. All the Magic Servants were gathered around Mommy as the Red Nurse Lady and the Mask Doctor Man were touching him in that way that was supposed to help Mommy. We walked over, crawling between everyone's legs to get closer. Mommy's eyes were closed, a piece of rice stuck to his cheek. They looked like they were sleeping. Silly Mommy always fell asleep in the funniest places. We reached over to pluck it off his cheek when our hand was slapped away by the Red Nurse Lady.
"You are not sanitized. If you want to help, then get cleaned up," She said. Right, we didn't want to touch Mommy with messy hands while they're sick. Still, why was Mommy like this? We look around, finding the fox lady that calls herself Mommy's wife very easily in the crowd. Quietly, we walk over, tugging on her sleeve.
"Hey, hey, why did Mommy fall asleep?" We asked. "Is it the tiny loud singer and your fault?"
"It's not our fault!" The fox lady yelled, making us giggle. It was always fun to make her yell. Before we could tease her more, really big arms scooped us up and placed us on a big shoulder.
"C'mon Jack, it's not golden to interrupt them," The blond Uncle scolded us. "Anyways, you remember that one time when Boss fell asleep, and the only one that could go help them was Fuuma?" Yeah, we remember that, and we hated that. Everyone hated that. After all, everyone loved being with Mommy. "It happened again, it looks like. This time though, we're going to send Boss some goodies. You wanna help?"
"Yeah!" We cheered, raising our hands over our head. With a smile, the gold Uncle left the yummy food room to the adventure room. We bounced on his shoulder in excitement, already planning on what to add to the goodie pile.
When we got to the adventure room, we could see some people were already preparing some goodies. The red cook was putting a cooking set in a giant bag, the cooking ladies placed in some yummy food. The picture man slipped in a small bracelet into the bag, the changing fight man put in some sort of metal fan, and we could even see the young dog man slipping in a green spear. Our eyes caught the sad man that acted like the magical girls' daddy slipping something in too while no one was looking, but the sad man looked at us and put a finger to his lips, so we wouldn't tell anyone.
As for us, well, we put in a small rainbow rock. Mommy called it a Saint Quartz, and it helped him summon other servants. Maybe this would let Mommy summon us! Other people started putting in other gifts, but we didn't look, because the small art lady walked in with someone we didn't see often. It was the King with the glowy sword that everyone says is super strong! Not the king that was the loud red knight's mommy though, the other one!
"So that's the situation," The art lady said. "Can you stay on standby so when we get a stable connection, you can head over?" The King smiled and nodded.
"Of course. Though, if you don't mind my asking, who are you planning on sending over to establish the initial link?" He asked, causing the art lady to point to the cooking red man.
"Since he seems to have ended up in Japan, EMIYA has offered to go first. He claims to know the area well, and with his Independent Action, he'd have some time to find Ritsuka," The art lady explained. The king nodded as the red cooking man put on the bag. "Alright, EMIYA, we're going to send you now, alright?" She said, pushing all sorts of buttons. We want to push buttons too! A bright light filled the room though, which meant the red cooking man was going on an adventure!
But then, the flashing red light went off again, and the loud noise echoed in the room. The red cooking man fell to the ground, obviously hurt. More importantly though, he didn't go on the adventure, even when the light appeared.
"Whoa, what the heck is going on?!" The gold uncle yelled out.
"Mud," The red man muttered.
"Mud?" We asked. We loved to play in mud! The mean half naked king walked in, shaking his head.
"I tried to figure out where the mongrel went using my Clairvoyance... and it was blocked by mud. It seems that mongrel has found himself in a difficult time... that mud won't let us in so easily,"
"What? That's playing dirty!" The gold uncle roared. "How are we going to get to Boss now?!"
"There is only one solution," The mean king stated. "That mud is nothing more but a bunch of curses and lost souls flowing out of a fake Holy Grail, so if we were to send something similar, the mud may not realize what it is and let it through. A bunch of curses and lost souls...," He emphasized. Everyone in the room turned to look at us.
"We get to go to Mommy first?" we asked, pointing at ourself. The mean king laughed loudly.
"Exactly! You get to go first!" He walked over, patting us on the head. We don't know why the mean king was always nice to us, but we liked it. "In fact, there is no better choice!" The red cooking man walked to us, handing us the bag.
"Now remember Jack," He said softly. "You need to find your Mommy right away," He patted us on the head too. "I'm sure they're hungry, so be sure to enjoy the meal we packed with them. And make sure no one else sees you. You can get in a lot of trouble if they do, okay?"
"Okay!" We answered as we put on the bag. With a smile, we walked over to the adventure pad, putting on bouncing on our toes in excitement. The bright light appeared once again, making it really hard to see. However when the light died, we found ourselves in an alley. The buildings were much taller than they were in London, but that was okay! It would make it even harder for people to find us! With a smile, we went into hiding.
Time to find our Mommy!
The first thing we did was climb to the very tippy top of the very tall building we manifested by. It wasn't easy because we can't go into spirit form without dropping the bag, but we did it! The view up there is amazing. We could see eeeeeeverywheeeeere and all the houses' lights were so pretty! It almost looked like Christmas without the snow!
We then looked around, trying to find Mommy from the top of the building. It didn't take long to see Mommy far away on a different building with the red cook man! That wasn't fair! We were promised we would get to Mommy first, and the red cook man tricked us to carry the bag and went to Mommy before us! Well, we'd teach him a lesson! We grabbed our knives as we jumped from building to building, ready to dismember the red cook man.
We landed on the roof of the building, using our hide and seek skills to sneak up on the red cook man, ready to stab him in the leg and dismember it. We'd sew it back on afterwards, but the mean red cook man needed to learn a lesson! He didn't even see us, but then Mommy turned around to talk to him, so we had to quickly hide in the shadows. That's when we realized. That wasn't Mommy red cook man was with. It was the silly girl that looked like Mommy and liked pretty rocks.
Dismembering her for tricking us seemed like the right thing to do, but we knew if Mommy was here, they'd say no, so we decided to not dismember her for now. We ran down the building, heading back to the ground. Staying up there might get us caught, and that would me it would take us longer to get to Mommy. On the ground, that's when we noticed. A faint connection, the thing that ties us to Mommy, the thing that might lead us to him.
And so we ran, forgetting about the red cook man. We ran away from the big buildings, away from the noisy roads and the bright lights, soon finding ourselves in a place with a lot of houses. We could feel the thing that lead us to Mommy but... there was a loud buzzing. It sounded like bugs, lots and lots of bugs. Bugs were cool, but bugs didn't like the cold, so why were they here?
Then we saw it. Not normal bugs, but magical flying bugs, an entire swarm of them. They were trying to break into a house, smashing themselves against a window. It was like they wanted to be thieves but didn't know how to sneak around. We didn't like them. They were obviously from a bad man, and Mommy wouldn't want us to walk away from something like this.
We put the bag down off our back and charged at the swarm, drawing our knives and getting ready to dismember. It had been a long time since we last dismembered something, although we liked to dismember humans more. The buggies would work for us for now. We got closer, jumping into the air and slicing several bugs with one swipe. That's when we realized these bugs were super gross. Their wings and tails were like our knives, and their mouth was full of sharp knife teeth. Super gross, we knew Jeanne Spam d'Arc Spam Alter Spam Santa Spam Lily Spam and Nursery Rhyme wouldn't like these bugs, and even Voyager wouldn't like them.
We thought they were pretty neat.
The buggies tried to move around in the air to make it hard for us to hit them, and even tried to bite us, but we were too fast for them. We only got to dismember about half of them before the rest flew away. Boooooo. Still, we wanted to know what the buggies were after. We looked in the window of the house and saw a little girl in bed. They looked even younger than us, maybe even younger than Voyager. They had bright orange hair and... and they felt very familiar, like we knew them, even though we never met them before. But still, seeing them safe made us feel happy, even happier than we usually do when we do a good thing Mommy would like.
It felt we saved Mommy.
But that couldn't be right. We still haven't found Mommy. Which then again, was super important. So we grabbed the bag and kept running. The connection to Mommy was feeling very weak, like they had stepped into a Bounded Field that was blocking us. But that wouldn't stop us. Knowing Mommy, they usually tried to go somewhere with a lot of mana, because Chaldea always told them to. And the place with the most mana we could sense was that giant mountain in the distance.
The sun was starting to rise as we ran up the stairs that lead to the very top. The sun being out wasn't a problem for us, but it would be a lot harder to hide with all the people staying in the daytime, and we couldn't hide in spirit form with this bag. We only hoped we found Mommy up here. We came to the top and we saw the long sword man that helped save France guarding it. We couldn't beat him in a direct fight, even though we were a better Assassin, he didn't fight like one. Thankfully, he also didn't notice us sneaking past him. We have really good hide and seek skills.
At the tippy top was a large place! A lot of funny looking people looked like they lived here. They kinda reminded us of the crybaby lady that calls Mommy her disciple. They were always nice, so the funny people probably would be too, but the red cook man said not to be seen. It was weird since no one remembers us when we leave, but weird things happened during adventures, so maybe someone could still remember us.
Best not to find out.
We looked around the whole place, but it seemed like Mommy wasn't here. We did see the funny toy making lady here though. She didn't seem very happy, so we decided not to ask her if she had toys for us to play with, instead leaving the way we came. The long sword man wasn't there when we left... he must have been hiding to. I wonder why? Maybe he was shy?
Now that the sun was up, we decided to run into the forest to try to hide from people while still looking for Mommy. The trees were really easy to move through, and we could go very fast. However, something caught our eye. There was mud in the shape of other mommies wandering through the forest. We remembered the giant dragon lady that wanted to be everyone's Mommy. While she seemed nice, and we really thought we could go back inside her... her mud wasn't a good thing. They made monsters, monsters worse than even the bad people we stopped with Mommy. Was this mud like that mud?
No... it felt different. We didn't know how though. Still, we knew we couldn't let them wander around freely. So we dismembered. At first, there was only one of them. When we dismembered them, three more came up. So we dismembered them. And then more came. So we dismembered. And more came, and more dismemberment.
Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. We needed Mommy.
Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember.
This wasn't fun like it used to be. We needed Mommy to hug us to tell us everything was okay.
Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember.
We lost track of how many we dismembered, but they started acting funny. After a certain point, they stopped trying to attack us, and tried to run away.
Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember. Dismember.
Why were there so many? How many have we killed? We didn't understand at all.
By the time the mud women stopped appearing, the sun had set again, and the beautiful moon had risen into the night sky. We were tired, we didn't like this. Where was Mommy? How didn't we find Mommy already, and how haven't they found us? Maybe it would have been better if the red cook man came here. Maybe we were being punished for being bad?
A loud roar that shook the very ground we stood on made us fall over before we could think more about it. Was it another monster like the mud mommies? We climbed into a tree and ran to the source of the roar...
"And that's how we found Mommy!" Jack finished her story as she cuddled into Ritsuka's chest. Ritsuka smiled, holding his daughter close.
"Really? Well, that's an amazing story, Jackie. You better remember it so you can tell Nursery Rhyme and Janta," He encouraged. "And I'm very proud of you for not dismembering anybody besides the mud women on the way here. Very good job. Would you like me to cook for you as an award?"
"Yeah! We love Mommy's cooking!" Jack cheered as she smiled widely. Ritsuka hugged her tightly, kissing her forehead.
"It'll be okay Jack, I got you now," He assured her in a soft voice as Jack cuddled against him, enjoying his warmth.
This was the best adventure Jack ever had.
