"Chapter 10: About You and Me"
"Besides music what have you been doing lately?" The lovely pinkette inquired the brooding handsome man across her. He was still the same old stoic Sasuke Uchiha. Intimidating on the outside, but he has does passionate eyes one would die for. She would always see them staring at her. Before due to familiarity it did not bother her much. But after missing him for so long, the gaze feel like flame grazing her skin.
"I have been managing Sharingan Corp on the side. I did graduate from a business course." Sakura nodded at the response, it was natural for him to venture in to the world of business. "I wanted to take a masters and PhD degree, but I am busy so haven't got the time." The male continued to reveal. "Since most of my tasks in the company is done, maybe I will make time for it next year."
"I am sure you will not have problems going back to school." Sakura agreed with a grin on her pink lips. "You have always been bright. The only problem would be due to your fame people might irritate you more." The man raised an eyebrow at her statement. "You may be a celebrity Sasuke, but I know you are still a very private person." The woman said cheerily. "Only few people can put up with your emotionally constipated self." The description somewhat shocked the rock star. Even her, she seem him as a cold person? The revelation made his heart plummet to his stomach. A frown began to creep on his handsome features. "Sasuke, I did not mean to offend you." The girl apologized after noticing some changes on his demeanor. "We all have our weakness, it is also a part of why we are special." She continued in a comforting voice.
"Is that how we were before? You were putting up with me because I was a loner?" The raven haired man questioned. "Did you choose to be with me because you felt sorry for me?" The celebrity stated the inquiries with a bitter tone. Is that the reason it was easy for her to ignore him? Since to her, he is only a burden? And after all this time, he thought he was doing a good job in expressing himself to her.
"Sasuke I did not spend time with you because of pity." Sakura spoke with determination and conviction reflected on her green orbs. "I have always know you are a kind person who deserves happiness." She stretched her arm to reach out to his hand. "Remember the roof top? When we were in high school? I wished you happiness right?" Sasuke stared at their connected hands, of course he recalls that day. It has always haunted him of how stupid he is of not being able to confess. Or rather how he sucked at confessing and started to show it in actions instead. But with how things went, it seems he did not do well with the second option either.
Sakura felt that there was something wrong in the atmosphere. Was Sasuke not happy to see her? Or is something bothering him? In the past, he never gets nervous in doing big events. But now, it seems there is big burden haunting him. "Sasuke what's wrong? Did I offend you?" The male shook his head. He would rather not talk about his feelings now. It's obvious to him that the girl seems uninterested. To lighten the mood Sakura decided to change the topic of conversation. "You know I will be doing my clinical practices now." She began to withdraw her hand. "I got a scholarship in Johns Hopkins in America. So I will be moving there."
The term America made Sasuke stiffen, that is where his family decided to assign him. "What state is it in?" He asked nonchalantly.
Feeling elated that the Uchiha showed signs of interest the pinkette with a smile answered. "In Baltimore, Maryland." The woman answered excitedly. "Did you know that University has a partnership with Senju? Tsuande-sama told me she will make sure I get special access to the child psychology department." Sasuke nodded with the revelation and for some reason his face looks a bit brighter now.
"What about your family?" The male inquired. "Will they be joining you?" The lady shook her head. "So you will go there alone?" The female nodded. "In that case, you probably won't mind some company if the chance arises?" His questions flustered the girl, what did he mean by company? Like friends? That type of company?
"Sasuke, I am an adult. I am sure I will be fine." The female answered confidently. "I will do my best to achieve my dreams. My goal is almost reached." The determination in her voice was coated with pride and dignity.
"I see, you still have goals to reach." The man answered back playfully.
"Why are you giving me that look?" The woman questioned. "Don't you have goals of your own?"
Sasuke face palmed and stared at the lady intensely. "Yeah I do. I am done with eighty percent of it." He proudly said.
"So you earned you freedom?" The girl inquired with nervousness in her voice.
"Yes I did." The Uchiha proudly replied. "Sharingan's market value is high, I was able to set music record under my name, it will take a long time before I get dethroned from my place." The celebrity began to sound like his usual cocky self. Sakura felt relieved that everything seems fine now.
The two chatted more about each the adventures and challenges they faced. Nothing came in easy, however both of them seemed stronger and better individuals. Their conversation was cut off when Kakashi had to enter and remind Sasuke that the concert is about to start. "Sorry you two, but I need to borrow Sasuke for a while, we have a concert to do."
Sasuke raised his brow on the masked man. Of course, he is just doing his job. Why did time had to move so fast? He still wants to spend more time with Sakura. "I guess you should go, good luck with your concert."
"Can we meet again after?" Sasuke blurted out while remaining on his seat. He won't leave unless she agrees to see him again.
"Sure same place here?" The man nodded. "Yeah, after the concert I will head here." A small smile graced the man's lips. After muttering an okay he stood up and headed out the door. Sakura's eyes followed his retreating figure. A feeling of suffocation crept her chest seeing him walking away. Did she miss him this much?
When the two men are out of earshot Kakashi began to tease the celebrity. "So were you able to confess." The younger did not answer. "So I guess that is a no." The elder sighed and commented. "Sasuke, you better tell her soon. Who knows if how many men are eyeing her?" The rock star shrugged. "Honestly Sasuke, that incident at the roof top does not count as a rejection. You were not clear that is why she was not able to answer properly."
"So what do you want me to do?" The Sharingan CEO inquired. "Do you want me to confess bluntly?"
"I see no problem with that hot shot." Kakashi confirmed. "You have loved her for so long. So use all that pent up frustration and tell her." The gray haired man patted his shoulder. "She is going to say yes, I can feel it."
"Coming from you who has been pining for my aunt for so long, should I believe you?" Sasuke answered teasingly.
"I was the one who told Obito to confess." The masked man revealed. "Because I knew, she loves him as much as he loves her." The information surprised Sasuke. So he gave way for the two people that means the most to him. "I have a knack for these things. So trust me on this one."
Sasuke proceed to the get his make-up retouched and changed into his performance out. He always exuded charisma and confidence when performing. But this time knowing Sakura is in the crowd, he felt nervous. Would he be able to convey his feelings effectively? Aside from actions, he also tries to communicate with songs. Will this melody be able to stir her heart?
The lights went on and Sasuke strummed his guitar with ease. The crowd began to grow wild and as soon as his mouth opened, the audiences sang along. On the stage, Sasuke Uchiha is dynamic and full of life. He is quite the opposite of the reserved man when in private. The hours passed and the fans were in tears. They have never seen the rock star be intense in performing. It was like he was so inspired to do his best. As the finale approached, the attendees anticipated his final song for the night. Many speculated it will be his greatest hit, but his announcement earned some gasps. "For the final song, I will be singing an original composed song that was performed by Orange Fox. This tune is special to me and I think you should hear my version of it." The spectators gushed at how sweetly the man explained his intentions. And for some reason among the crowd, Sakura blushed. Is he going to sing that song? "The name of the song is Pink Spring. I have been chasing after it for so long. And finally I think I have a chance to go for it this time." The smirk on his face was so pretty the concert attendees melted. It was like the Uchiha Sasuke was in love.
Sasuke began to sing the lyrics with passion and emotion. Some fans were even moved to tears, they could not believe how a song could be this good. And as he sang the final line, "My pink spring, hopefully, one day come notice me." He stared at the crowd with such intensity that when it was zoomed on the overhead display some fainted. It was Sasuke Uchiha bearing his heart on his sleeves. The action moved many heart especially a pink haired woman, who cannot help but cry. The feelings of longing, regret, and love, it managed to reach the very core of her being. As the music faded Sasuke wiped the sweat form his forehead and straightened up his posture.
"Guys, thanks for coming tonight. Throughout the years all of you have supported me." The performer announced the audiences began to cheer. "I would not be able to make it without your support." He sincerely confessed. "However, I am preparing for a new chapter in my life. That is why I must say good bye temporally in doing music." The statement shocked the spectators and murmurs spread in the venue. "Please, don't feel dejected. There are some personal matters I need to face." The icon explained. "But once everything is settled I will back and ready to perform for you all. Until then, please wait for me." The crowd screamed yes and cheered. Phrases like "Good luck Sasuke-kun.", "We will wait Sasuke-kun." , "Do your best." Floated in the air.
"That went well." Kakashi commented while handing Sasuke a towel.
"Do you think she understood me?" The younger inquired. "Was I able to move her heart?"
The masked assistant smirked. "The crowd was crying. I am sure she was moved as well. All you need to do now is confirm it to her." The gray haired male confirmed. "You have to tell her in private too." The younger nodded at the suggestion and the elder patted his shoulder. "You can do it Sasuke, I am sure she is waiting for you to say it."
Sasuke went back to the room where they agreed to meet. Sakura was already sitting by the table waiting for him. As she heard the door open, her eyes focused on him. It was obvious she was crying. What was she so sad about? "Sasuke did your family forced you to quit music?" Her voice was shivering. "You can't do this, music is your happiness. This is wrong."
Sasuke walked closer to the pinkette. She was crying for him, his heart swelled knowing she cared for him. "Sakura, I consented the change and did you not hear what I said? I will come back when I am done."
"But Sasuke, how important is that personal matter that you have to give up your passion?" The girl asked with a confused expression. "You said you gained your freedom, but sacrificed music in the process. I don't understand, how could it be that important?"
The rock star smiled, his eyes shimmering with mirth. "It is very important." He was standing in front of her. He kneeled to meet her eyes. "It is even better that music." His voice began to sound seductive. He seems to be hiding something and is so self-assured that it will work.
"What are you planning to do?" The pinkette inquired her green eyes staring back at him. The where close, they could feel each other's breath as they speak. She could smell his masculine scent with a mix of sweat that increases his sex appeal. Sakura blushed at what she was thinking. On the other hand, the male is lost in her green orbs. Her floral scent is driving him mad. If only he can kiss her here and now. But he knew it is not the right time. "What is better than music Sasuke?"
The question made him go autopilot. He leaned in closer and caught her face with both hands. The girl did not retaliate, she was accepting his advances. "You are better than music Sakura." He spoke in a very sultry voice. "I am going to get closer to you."
"You were always close to me." The girl confessed. "Even when we are apart, you are closest to my heart." The pinkette answered truthfully. There was no sense in denying it now. She came here to settle things with him. It is best to be open about everything.
"Good." The raven haired man replied. The hell with the proper place and time. He leaned in closer until their lips touched. It was soft and wanting. Sakura snaked her arms around his neck. She allowed him to deepen the kiss as she opened her mouth. The flame inside them consumed whole. All the pent up passion was finally being released. It was so crazy good. When they had to pull away for air, both were panting hard. "Can we go to my place?" The man invited, his eyes hungry for her. The pinkette blushed, she wants him too. They are about to cross the line. Would they be okay with it? He pulled her into an embrace. "You don' have to go if you don't want. Sorry for being presumptuous."
The girl shook her head. "No, you are not. I want to go." The answer made Sasuke's eyes widen. "We have been waiting for so long."
