Falling into routine with Draco was as easy as breathing air. Draco would always wake up first, have tea and toast while waiting for Harry to wake. He spent most mornings going over business plans to turn his dream bakery into a reality. They spent the better part of the mornings together, talking and laughing, sometimes just reading the paper.

Most afternoons were spent apart, Harry visiting friends, helping take care of his godson or visiting the burrow. Draco spent most afternoons with Blaise or off on his own running errands.

Evenings found them together again, cooking and eating together. Relaxing and reading. Making love or crazy sex all over the flat.

Harry thought that routine was one of his issues with his past relationship with Ginny. He found that he actually was comfortable with this routine. While everyday was similar it was never boring. It was comforting to know when he would see Draco and what he would be doing. He look forward to their time apart, it made their time together so much sweeter.

"Harry, did you see that we aren't the headline this morning? Apparently there has been a string of break ins. Most of them shops, the person is leaving cursed objects behind. One of the shop keepers in Diagon Alley passed away this morning." Draco handed the paper over to his boyfriend. "Dark curses. My father use to talk about them when I was a little boy. They cause unknown illnesses or sometimes organ damage. Usually used in revenge killings."

Harry read the article frowning. "That's awful. I'm sure this is causing panic among the people in the area. They better get a hand on it quick before someone else dies." Harry felt that pull in his gut to head into the office to help solve the crime.

"The man who passed? He owned that little potions shop I love to visit. He made the best hang over potions. They always tasted like raspberries. I just stopped in there two days ago."

Draco stood up dumping the rest of his tea in the sink, and most of his untouched toast in the bin. Draco leaned against the counter as Harry set the paper down. "Do you miss it? Fighting dark wizards?" He asked unknowingly tugging at the sleeve of his shirt, willing the ugly tattoo on his arm to go away.

Harry looked at the man and shook his head. "Not even for a second. I thought I would be bored without the constant action and stake outs. I'm not though. I like that I'm not in constant danger. I like having a reason to come home safely. " Harry stood and moved to his lover. He pushed the sleeve of the man's shirt up and kissed across the tattoo he found there. "Draco, you were never a dark wizard. You made the right choices when it was important to. Were you an insufferable prat in school? Sure, but that didn't make you evil. And this," he rubbed his thumb across the dark mark. "Is proof to me that you are so much stronger than anyone ever gave you credit for. You could have given up or into that man. You could have killed Dumbledore. You could have turned against me at the manor. You are strong. And do not let anyone else tell you other wise."

Draco cupped Harrys face and kissed him softly. "How you have forgiven me so easily for my mistakes still shocks me. Sometimes I think this is all a dream and I'm going to wake up. Or that you are going to wake up one morning and decide I'm too much for you to handle."

Harry wrapped an arm around Draco's waist pulling him against his body. "Draco, I'm never going to think you are too much to handle. I have the same fears. That you will decide my fame and everything is too much to deal with and leave me. You and I are in it together Dray." He leaned in and kissed him again. "What are your big plans today?" Harry used his other hand to brush Draco's hair out of his face.

"Mmm, I'm going to go look at a few store fronts. If I find one I like, I might make an offer today." He said excitedly. "Lovegood actually lent me a hand. I had no idea she was so good with business plans. She has been incredibly helpful. I didn't think it would move along so quickly."

Before Harry could respond a loud pounding on the door startled them apart. "Are you expecting someone?" Harry asked Draco who was staring at the door confused.

"No, Blaise had a meeting today so I won't see him until Wednesday." Draco watched Harry snag his wand off the counter and head to the door. He opened it and came face to face with Ron Weasley standing there in his Auror robes with two other behind him dressed the same.

"What the fuck do you want?" Harry glared what hie was sure an amazing glare, almost as good as Draco's.

Ron unrolled a piece of parchment and stuffed it into Harrys chest. "You'll find everything you need in there. Draco Lucius Malfoy, you are under arrested for breaking and entering, dealing in unlawful cursed objects, practicing dark magic on objects and murder in the first degree." Ron moved into the flat and waved his wand instantly binding the blond man who collapsed onto his knees on the floor.

"There... there has to be a mistake. This can't be right. " Draco felt the two men he didn't recognize heft him up off the floor and to his feet. "Harry! Please don't let them... I can't go there. I can't. I will lose my mind if they put me in one of those cells."

Draco had spent a week in Azkaban before his trials. They left him cold, hungry, dirty and worse for wear. The dementors may have been dismissed of their duties there, but the men who watched the prisoners we far worse. Not to mention, the magic the dementors had left behind in the walls of that place, was enough to make you lose your soul. He couldn't go back there.

Ron looked more than smug, "Well Ferret, you will find that's exactly where you are going. There is nothing Harry can do for you."

Harry shoved against Ron, dropping the parchment he had been giving. "What are you playing at you arse? You know damn well he didn't commit those crimes. He's almost always with me."

"Touch me again Harry and I will have you cuffed and brought in with him." Ron smoothed out his robes and pointed to the door where the Aurors toted out the blond man, who wasn't even bothering to struggle anymore. Struggling would mean a harder beating.

"Harry, owl my mother. She will put you in contact with our lawyer... and just... just in case..."

Harry growled, "don't talk like that, I will have you home before tomorrow ends. If I have to raise bloody hell myself."

Before Harry shut the door to the flat he could have sworn he heard the blond mutter, "I love you Harry James Potter."

--

Less than twelve hours later, Harry sat in a room with Draco's lawyer waiting for them to bring the man in. Narcissa had responded quickly and got Harry all the information he needed.

She wasn't allowed to come to Britain, as she was still serving her punishment, but she had begged Harry to help her son come home. Harry had promised without question.

The lawyer was a short, heavy set older man, starting to bald at the top of his head. He hadn't said much to Harry about anything, just that he could come to the meeting, keep his head on his shoulders and stay calm, other wise it would mostly likely make it worse for Draco.

Harrys eyes darted up as the doors opened and a young wizard dragged Draco in. He recognized the Auror as Williams, had just started training a few months ago.

Williams deposited Draco into the chair with minimal effort. "I was told to let you know, you have thirty minutes, he is to stay bound, and he is not to be touched." He looked pointedly at Harry. When both Harry and Mr. Cabela nodded in agreement he left the room pulling the door behind him.

Harry looked across the table at his boyfriend and felt his blood behind to boil. Draco's left eye was completely swollen shut, a large bruise had started to form across his right cheek and his lip clearly had been split open, dried blood still clinging to his chin and into the jump suit they had changed Draco into.

"Harry, you need to calm down. Your magic is making the whole room vibrate. Please. I'm fine. " Draco whispered gently.

"Fine? Draco they clearly beat the piss out of you. I'm willing to bet there's bruises I can't see." Harry said softly. Suddenly he felt sick to his stomach. This was how he integrated dark wizards. Unnecessary force to get them to talk. He had been that guy, beating up someone else's loved one. Whether the person had committed the crime or not, he had been the bully. "Was it Ron?" He asked fist clenching.

"No, though he did watch. He kept his hands clean." Draco cleared his throat and looked to his lawyer. "They sent over what they had I assume? Please tell me it's nothing and you can get me released today Stephen. I can't stay here, they will not let me live to see a trial this time. " he practically whispered.

"Draco, I'm pulling all sorts of strings. Trust me. Hell you are dating the bloody savior to the wizarding world, but they aren't budging. They have two eye witnesses that put you at the apothecary that was broken into and said you often leave gifts for the deceased."

"Pastries! I leave him pastries. The old man was obsessed with my scones and lemon danishes. Id box them up once a week, deliver them and he would always send me home with the potions I need. " Draco tapped his foot. "Plenty of people use to visit Arnold. It sounds like to me there are using my past as an excuse. That's barely enough for a warrant let alone to hold me. "

"They found traces of your magic at every scene Mr.Malfoy. One of the objects, was a Malfoy heir loom. A platinum ring with a sapphire gem. Listen, I can't get you out of here today. I need a list of places you go during the day so I can prove your alibis. Harry has offered any pensive memories needed to help prove your home at night. It's going to take me a few days... a week tops. I've already put a motion into place to have you moved from Azkaban to house arrest. I'm waiting to hear from the minister. "

"A week?" Draco looked fearfully between the two men. "I can't stay here a week Stephen. Do you see me? I'm on everyone's shit list here and they will be sure to show me. Please... you have to move quicker. "

"I'm doing my best Mr. Malfoy. Maybe with Harrys help and testimony they will allow you to leave on house arrest. If I can, I will meet with the minister and let Harry help plead your case to be moved. Until then, keep your head down, do what they say, and for the love of Merlin, Draco, keep your sass to yourself. They will be looking for a reason to use force against you. "

Harry was itching to reach out, to comfort his boyfriend. He could feel the fear rolling off the man in waves. "We will get you out of here Draco. I promise. " Harry said softly.

Williams can back in without knocking, barely giving them fifteen minutes to talk. "Back to your cell. Time is up."

Harry went to argue when the young man yanked Draco up making him stumble and almost fall to the ground. Mr. Cabela placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him. They were trying to rile Harry up.

"Please, just hurry." Draco whispered.

"I will. I love you Draco. " Harry said knowing the blond had heard his whispered before the door had shut. Harry had to hurry, he needed Draco to come home, so he could tell him over and over again, how much he loved him.
