War
Flashes of metals, smell of smoke,
Death and Destruction, what hatred provokes.
Lying bodies stiff as stone;
Blood flowing down broken bones.
Tears of sorrow cry me a river,
Weeping Earth, life's giver.
Whizzing bullets race through the air,
Striking targets with little care.
Soldiers after soldiers descend toward ground,
So many souls, the reapers found.
Tears of sorrow cry me a river,
Weeping Earth, life's giver.
Such a distasteful word "war" is,
Ensuring doom like a death's kiss.
Peace we sough, yet chaos we bring,
A repeating cycle, never ending.
Tears of sorrow cry me a river,
Weeping Earth, life's giver.
War.
